Chubbies in Scarborough

Aweful service. So rude two guys behind counter. I've been a customer for over 5 years.. Went to order cheesy chips wrap as I used to order for past 5 years online, on phone and in person in shop. This time the guy said they don't do and was so rude and said its 8£ then he charged us £8.5 When I showed him on his website and ordering app its £7he said he doesn't want to serve us food. I asked him to talk to the manager. He said he is the owner and manager. Refused to give his name and was extremly rude and impolite and aggressive. I asked him that I would like his name to know who I'm dealing with. He refused. We left. We surely will never back again. Used to be really friendly place and good service . Sadly itsnt the same anymore Will surely never buy again from there. Definitely dont recommend it unless you want to be charged different prices than menu and get a doze of rudness and abuse.

Lovely garlic mushrooms, great price, fast service

Ordered x2 wraps, x1 pizza and one garlic bread. Both pizza's undercooked. Although we ordered 1 wrap with garlic and 1 with chilli we recoeved neather sauce. Took 1 hour from arriving to leaving the store. Come on guys this is s£#t. Give your heads a shake

Worst garlic bread I've ever had. Frozen base, no cheese and tomato pasted over it. Cheapest of the cheap frozen chips used. Genuinely awful. Staff are friendly which is the only saving grace.

Used to be so nice, but it just isn't anymore. Last time I went in the staff could hardly understand anyone, not just me and the kebab I got was probably the worst kebab I've ever had. Hardly any meat and manky salad that was put underneath everything. The pizzas I saw didn't look much better either. They were also incredibly rude to someone asking about a vegetarian option. They told him to go try a major city if they wanted anything fancy! Dreadful.

Just horrible. Doner kabob meat is flavourless and rubbery. Tastes like what an industrial frankenlamb would if made by the fictional mad scientist himself. I only ate it because it was across the street from Chaplin's and I needed something to soak up the beer in my belly. Next time, I'll try AOK on the same side of the block. I was told it's better than Chubbies after the fact. Wildly disappointed. I hope they find a better meat purveyor. Also, slaw has no place on a kabob. Their white sauce was akin to a thin mayonnaise and tasted like thousand island dressing. Nah, bro. Get real tzaziki and green sauce: Made with easy ingredients like avocado, olive oil, cilantro, lime, garlic, and parsley!

Didn’t get what we ordered £20 for garlic bread Kebab meat and chips No sauce Rude staff Got back to digs Kebab meat was missing and no garlic on bread Walked back 7 mins staff was rude paid £1 for water and sent on my way no refund no apology never go here again

Came for a kebab after the pub and got sent back with a box of donner meat no salad or pitter or sauces and got charged full price when tried to call was closed. Had to get sauce and pitter from another takeway .

Got 4 pieces of chicken with fries. Had to throw away 3 of the pieces of chicken, because they were cold in the middle .

Staff are very rude, prices are far too high. Food quality is average at best, and that’s being generous.

Food was ok but not many toppings and a little expensive

The lads in the back were decent, one is doing aerospace engineering and I for one struggled to even spell that! I slung my ticket in me handbag (cos that’s what Northern birds do) then the fella,whom I can only presume was the manager, said no food without it! At this point, three chu%%ing farmers from Halifax came in wearing bucket hats and s1ut dropping!!! Food arrived, I found me ticket, then he goes all power mad about us having to go outside to eat it! Food was average at best (more than could be said for the Halifax farmers) kebab looked like Jeffrey Dahmer scene! Stop being so rude to your customers lad!!

Totally useless!! No Cash on Delivery and uses the worthless UBER and Just Eat app!!!

Ordered couple of pizzas while staying here in Scarborough. Very little toppings on the pizzas. Chicken was literally paper thin. Cheese tasted like plastic. Not to mention that there was a hair in my slice.

Just ordered pizza and chips this evening the pizza's cheese wasn't melted(well the 7 strands of red cheese) and the chips, well I don't know what to say apart from cardboard would be far nicer and this was the first and last time I will ever go in there again

I just wanted to say a big thank you to the man in chubbies who gave us free drinks and free food i walked in as soon as it was open and there was only one person who took the massive order the food was great service was amazing for only one person working there highly recommended

We seen this pizza shop whilst out at the pubs. When the night ended we went to this pizza shop. The man behind the counter is very rude. Firstly I got overcharged then also got charged 50p for a card payment. I found this pizza shop very expensive. When I ordered my pizza, and got it to the hotel it just wasn't nice. £10 for a pizza which didn't have pizza taste. It was apparently bbq chicken with extra cheese, which I paid £1.50 for for the extra cheese. The lack of chicken and cheese on the pizza was exactly that "lack of". I was actually quite upset that the pizza wasn't very nice because I was actually looking forward to it. The pizza actuslly went in the bin with only one slice that had been tried. Soon as we got our food from the man behind counter "eat outside" manners go a long way. And we would have appreciated if it was said more of please don't eat inside. Between the group of us we spent at least £70 - £75 and it was quite appalling.

Dirty got food poisoning from there food !! Once I rang them and told them There food was rotten they’ve said.: we need money go away!!! Baring in mind i work 6 days and to ring in sick from work!!!

Food was brilliant I read reviews after I ordered and thought oh no what have I done! It maybe that I was the only person ordering at the time so the service was fine it was a really nice me and partner shared mixed kebab with chips which came in at 17 pounds ! But it was huge and really good worth 5 stars however because I paid on card they charged an extra 50p which I think if your spending 17 pounds 50p is just greedy so I feel maybe orders of 5 pounds should be free of card charges.

Very poor, but open until late so they seem to do okay. Poor food and hygiene

I paid £8 for a garlic bread cheese and mushroom with extra mushroom but was just the usual (not extra mushroom) the atmosphere wasn't the same (been going here for years) new owners are uptight. Don't think I will go back here again, the food and "most" of the staff are not very nice and helpful.

What a horrible takeaway! After a great night around Scarborough we decided to go into Chubbies for some food! After spending £30 on food we were rudely told to leave the premises! They were so rude and abusive to us! We’ll never eat there again

Absolutely horrendous Service. Horrible men behind the counter that are disgusting to the customer's! Made us wait outside when we'd ordered £30 worth of food. 2 old men were making sexual comments towards us and the staff just didn't help us st all. I felt vulnerable and scared. Please avoid here

If I could rate this minus 1, I would. Disgusting in every sense of the word. I have just experienced the worst service, experience and food in my entire life! Went on a long 15 mile hike and just wanted some food at the end as it was getting late. Asked if dog could wait inside, told no, so husband and dog respectfully waited outside while I ordered. Food was terrible! Absolutely awful. I opened the box and questioned that I’d ordered a pepperoni pizza. He dug at my pizza with a fork, uncovered a lone slice of pepperoni and then got really abusive, to the point I was shaking and upset for just asking the question, because he only found one single piece. (I ordered a garlic bread too - £15 for both) Suggested it wasn’t okay and he just really abused me and just started shouting at me calling me a ‘racist’. I had never once talked of anything other than the lack of pepperoni on the pizza. My husband outside with my dog is a calm man, heard this man shouting at me and came in to say that he should not ever speak to his wife like that. They stopped abusing me, because of my husband. I actually want to call the police I was treated so badly! I will never step foot in this absolutely awful place again!

Do you really want the truth? The server just couldnt cope. The orders took far too long and didnt come out in order or correct. The food made 4 out of 4 of our party very I'll after eating. So we wont be returning.

This was the place I would always go if I stayed over in Scarborough but never again.The food is ok however the service and attitude behind the counter is shocking.i placed an order in the shop and paid by card then I received a text from my daughter who was wanting some extra fries added onto the order then I was told it had to be a minimum order of £10 or I was getting charged an extra 50p which I had just said I have already placed an order which was well over the £10 and then his attitude came out then I agreed to pay the 50p then I was told my machine won’t process that small amount of £3.50 so I was refused the extra part of my order and he would not do anything else for me as I had no cash but he was happy to process my previous order I could go on and on about this place STAY AWAY from Chubbies and the guy behind the counter also said he was happy for me to put this review on so he’s not bothered about any reputation

Gave me food poisoning, I got the cheesy chips and kebab with mayo never going here again, not been able to keep any food up all day and my stomach none stop hurting.

Food disgusting, in fact vile , well over priced, I think they make it up as they go along. Service terrible. Be really careful as they will rip you off.

Excellent if you’re ex special forces and love that “dangerous, anything could happen” vibe. If you like people being rude to you, and paying over the odds for ropey food this place ticks all the boxes! However if you’re just a normal person looking for a bite to eat after a night out you’re probably better off going home and eating that packet of mince pies that’s been at the back of the cupboard since 2005.

Tried to be charged 15£ for two large portions of chips. Owner need some lessons how to control his anger issues.

Don't be fooled by the hygiene rating of 5 stars, as the overly priced burgers we ordered were like meat flavoured cardboard, I strongly believe that the salad leaves I put in the bin are better quality. AVOID.

Poor quality frozen meat patties. Salad was an inedible bad joke. Didn't even notice the cheese until halfway through. It was on the underside and appeared as a yellowish patch. The chips were also low quality as many were bruised and discolour. Incredibly expensive as well. No way we shall return there. We continue our search for a new good pizza/burger joint since our favourite of twenty years retired.

We had pizza from here on our way home from a night out. We all ordered something different and it was so tasty and hot and fresh we agreed the nicest pizza from a take away shop. Staff were a little rude, asking us to sit while we waited but then allowing next customers to stand at counter waiting for orders.

Absolutely terrible service ,waited 45 mins got home and the order was wrong ,they were running about like headless chickens ,dont go if I were you ,most of food ended in bin

I ordered a burger without chips which cost me almost £6 so I asked how much more it would cost with chips and the owner completely misunderstood me and flipped out shouting at me saying no no you cannot have chips you did not ask for them and threw me out of his shop what horrible people!! Disgusting! Will never come here again.

Got to be the worse pizza I have ever had. I ordered a pepperoni they was no pepperoni on it just salami it was totally covered in cheese you could not see the meat probably to hide the fact they was no pepperoni on it.

Terrible service overpriced no chicken doner instead they put frozen fried chicken took money for drinks never put in the bag ! Anti sanitary pretending wearing gloves but touching money with them then serving food in same gloves avoid!

Dropped in on a recommendation pizza nice kebab was rank .under cooked . garlic sauce very sweet made with cheap ingredients .avoid it and eat else where very disaponting

Myself and my partner (genuinely) travel from Leeds just to taste the food! Of course, there’s a trip to Scarborough as a decent benefit, but the food is fantastic! I get a Doner Kebab with the offer of chip spice and it tastes sensational. My partner absolutely loves the garlic sauce there, perfection. Will definitely be visiting again, and again, and again.

Update: 11.48 still no food, rang the takeaway and "apparently" I have cancelled my order. So they took the moneh out of my bank and I received NO food! Ordered food at 9.30. Got to 10.30 food still hadn't arrived, rang the takeaway they said it was on it's way. Got to 11.00pm still hadn't arrived so rang back, they said it was on it's way again, man on the phone got high rated with me and hung up. He then rang back and asked for a little bit of time as they STILL need to COOK the food, so he lied to me twice saying it was on it's way when they haven't even cooked it yet. Poor delivery time and poor customer service.

Ordered chicken and chips. Chicken was microwaved then dropped in fryer for 30 seconds. Then they tried to charge 60p for a squirt of mayo. If no stars was an option I would have awarded this place 0. Joke

Bolenaise pizza ordered couldn't find any mince meat on it not well cooked and chef was reading when we entered shop took time to come and serve

This place is disappointing my brother in law found a pube on his chip and when told the shop they just said thanks mate!!!! How disgusting is that the Staff are very rude and this place needs closing down asap

What a find this take away is, will definitely be going back when in Scarborough again, by miles better than ako across the street, which I'm amazed is even trading, disgusting food. We ordered doner meat and chips,burger and chips and margarita pizza,all delicious, freshly made,pipi hot. Decent owner too, pleasant. Will recommend to others too.

Placed an order via just eat at 18:45 the order was accepted and due to be delivered at 19:50 but it didn't turn up . Instead I got a notification saying they had cancelled the order . If you can't cook a pizza and deliver it then don't accept the order .this isn't the first time this has happened either .

Visit each year we go to Scarborough. Miss the elderly chap that used to be there but the foods great.

Food great prices and friendly service

HotShot Pizza had a strange sweet taste (vinegar and something sweet?!?!) We took one bite and it went in the bin. Disappointed. The 1 star is even generous.

Good quality food for a good price. Nice sized portions (we recieved extra) arrived on time. Known in the area to be quiye descent, we have used a couple of times.

Got a delvery for here and the pizza was ice cold when we took it back the man was rude and said if you dont like it go somewhere else. Do not go here

Mixed kebab comes with four meats, pitta, lots of salad and fries and two pots of sauce: garlic mayo sauce and hot salsa.Parmo was a Parmesan Kiev...not enough garlic on the mushrooms for my liking (hence 4/5 stars). Again, GORGEOUS garlic mayo sauce, generous portion of chips and salad. With free garlic bread, £17.95 which includes free delivery.

Increíblemente sabrosa comida. Especialmente kebabs y pizzas. Hay como pizzas bien vegetariana. Hamburguesas con ensalada son agradables y sabrosas. Siempre comida fresca. Para los amantes de los mariscos son platos así, como langostinos y langostas, por ejemplo. Platos de pescado están disponibles. Altamente recomendado para todo el mundo
