Porto Pizza in Scarborough

Worst chicken kebab I have ever eaten in my life, by a country mile. They couldn’t even bother to fill the pitta bread, they literally put the salad in the box, slapped a few chicken breasts on top (which is the cheapest chicken I have ever tasted, it was revolting) and left the pitta bead outside of the box. They literally couldn’t be bothered to make it properly. Shocking and will never again visit in my life

Visited on sun evening 7.01.2024. Horrible rude scruffy man served us, more interested in walking up & down playing on his phone Ordered 2 donner & chicken kebabs, didn’t even put in the pitta bread that was just thrown in the bag separate, the salad was sloppy & big chunks of white cabbage core in it. The chicken was like fillets but cheap & had stringy sinewy bits in it. Chips tasted like old grease. The man cooking it looked like himself & his clothes needed a good wash & he wasn’t much better in manners when handing it to us. Spent £24.00 & it was disgusting, only ate a bit because we were hungry, all went in bin & guts were rolling all night…….never again! Went there 2 years ago & it was ok then………a worker in the Indian next door said it had changed owners & they had had a problem too with a food order from there too.

Used to think Porto’s pizza was the worst in town and my mind has totally changed, upon recently returning a while ago and giving it another chance prompted me to amend my injustice of a review. The pepperoni pizza in particular is absolutely top drawer and the chips are full of soft warm potato and are total flavour. The garlic sauce as well is also a 10/10 and as for the kebabs they are always tasty. Best Pizza establishment in the area.

I popped over here because I heard a noise round the corner from where I parked my car, it sounded like ‘boro gomshor’ (?) anyway I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the glowing vermillion walls of Porto pizza! There was a lovely young man with glasses and coquettish curly brown hair atop his wee head who served me with class, precision and gusto. The food was okay.

Pretty much standard for pizzas but kebab needs some work . Staff no skills .

Last wed was great loads of lovely salad with our meals kebab and burger, this week guy that served didn't listen to my order, I asked for separate sauce on my kebab poured it all over couldn't eat it got hardly any salad the beef burger was ok, suppose it depends who serves you

Consistently beautiful pizzas! The Porto Special is absolutely delicious! Delivery out to Aislaby is always under the quoted time and the drivers are polite and conscientious. The best pizza takeaway/delivery shop in Whitby in my opinion.

The pepperoni pizza had double the optimum amount of cheese and the layer of tomato sauce was way too thin. Plus, there was probably five slices of pepperoni on a twelve inch pizza and the pepperoni doesn't taste of anything.

The grease proof paper around the salad on the kebab is an unreal touch 🤩 picked up our takeaway and the salad was still COLD and CRUNCHY after a taxi journey home. Impressed.

Ordered a pizza from here the other night and it was over rather over cooked. All I could taste was a burnt taste. Totally disappointed and feel let down by this place after having many great pizzas from here in the past. Won't be back.

Pretty sure I got food poisoning from the donner meat here (2 days in bed and a full body "reset" to put it nicely). I shouldn't have risked it as the place looked disgusting and the food was absolutely diabolical. My wife's burger was bouncy in your mouth like chewing rubber, the chips were bland as anything, and the salad was all limp and looked like it had been kept out at room temperature over night (especially the cabbage). The worst takeaway I've had so far, cheers for the poisoning guys.

Ordered a done kebab, got a tray of meat & an unopened pitta bread. How am I supposed to eat that on my way home to my hotel? If I wanted donner meat on a tray, I would of ordered it that way! Don't expect me back matey.

Order from here 8 times consecutively since other places in whitby are pretty sub standard. It has arrived hot and delicious. Couldn't fault them and the staff are lovely. Would highly recommend.

Over charged with a different price on the same order even tho the order is the same every week. Food comes squashed on numerous occasions and this time it was not fit to eat. Quality varies week to week going from ok to terribly.

Had a delivery out to Aislaby from Porto the other night. The delivery driver was a total gentleman. The food was piping hot and extremely tasty! Good work Porto Pizza! We loved it!

You can’t go wrong 9/10 with a pizza from here usually qualities good however 1/2 the time you will find a small hair in your food, I think the owner need to get staff to wear hair nets especially considering we’re in a pandemic.

After a hard day at work all I wanted was a cheap and easy ham and pineapple, unfortunately because I made the poor decision to go to Porto pizza I instead threw ten pound straight into the bin as two bites into my greasy pizza I unearthed what can only be described as a suspect public hair baked into meat. I cannot begin to convey my absolute disgust and it is certain to say that I will never be returning to that god forsaken place....STAY AWAY !

we ordered a Large donor kebab its was just terrible tasted like dog meat they cooked the meat and then put it through the pizza oven to warm it up its the worst donor kebab we have ever had

Biggest rip off I've ever had the misfortune of paying for 2 pizzas and a kebab £28.80 talk about ripping off tourists.

Whilst the kebabs are bad enough the total lack of covid compliance is scary. Masks are mandatory now for everyone's safety but no signs or requests to wear in this takeaway are evident. If you want food give this place a miss for more reasons than your gut.

Ordered a special mixed kebab and was overcharged by £2. Kebab meat I wouldn't feed to my dog, it had a weird disinfectant taste. 2 chicken pieces were the best bit of the meal, a cheap frozen preformed 'steak' cut into 3 with a disgusting texture. Literally a handful of salad, onion, white Cabbage and a tomato. 1 pitta. We used to love this place but it's obvious something has changed, never again.

Fantastic range of pizza using high quality ingredients. There kebab reminds me of the kebab you got in the 90s.

We had a kebab from there after a night out. Mistake. Salad was drenched in sauce and pitta was in top of the box. It tasted ok but the amount of sauce was ridiculous. When I order a kebab I expect it to be in pitta bread and not soaked. Staff were pleasant and it was ok speed. Their pizzas may be good but I would not suggest kebab from there.

I think the best pizza shop in whitby. Friendly staff good quality ingredients and food and for a fair price. And usually quite accurate with the delivery times.

This is a very small and busy take away. The staff seem to cover all jobs from cooking to taking orders and packing deliveries. Although one of the staff does wear gloves whilst handling food he also wears the same pair whilst dealing with taking orders and handling cash!!! No order takes priority and it seems to be pot luck as to how fast they will make your food. I ordered a pizza and half an hour later it still wasn’t ready. When I questioned this the guy said the order had been mixed up. My order was number 40 he was just handing over order 46!! No apology and no offer of a refund just for me to wait longer whilst he prepares and cooked my pizza oh and a free bag of chips. Had I wanted chips I would have ordered them. After me demanding a refund he reluctantly gave it to me. Avoid!! Avoid!!! Avoid!!

I've used this place before for pizza and never had an issue Tonight I had the mixed kebab andWoW it was delicious But so big I couldn't finish it . The sliced chicken breast amounted to nearly 2 whole breasts.Please your portions are just too big for 1 person

We nearly didn’t order from here after reading lots of bad reviews but I’m glad we did. The pizza was lovely, plenty of topping. The salad was huge for £1.50 and we were asked exactly what we wanted on it. Service was good, we didn’t experience rude service nor were we rushed out of the shop. If you looking for an authentic Italian pizza then this is not the place for you. But if your looking for just a tasty ‘british’ style pizza then I would definitely recommend it.

DREADFUL SERVICE DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO SERVE US, TOO BUSY SMOKING OUTSIDE SO WENT ELSEWHERE

So 6 of us spent a weekend in Whitby and after a reasonable Saturday nights drinking we decided to get some food. We placed our order for 2 pizzas and 2 kebabs with the somewhat surly member of staff on the front desk and settled in to wait. After 45 minutes and orders that were placed after ours had went out I went to the desk to ask if our order was ready. I was told that it takes "20 minutes to make a pizza and 15 minutes to make a kebab you know!". I pointed out that we had been waiting for just over 45 minutes by that time, at this point Surly gave no response other than a deep sigh and went to the bench at the back that had the orders on. She obviously found ours and started shouting at the other members of staff. Lo and behold 5 minutes later she approached the counter, threw down the order and shouted "there's your order!" across the shop. The food can best be described as mediocre, the pizzas were nothing special and why it takes 15 minutes to make a kebab of the standard we received remains a mystery.

I was in the shop on sat night asked for a pizza and the girl who works there jodie obviously doesn’t care as she didn’t wear gloves as she was putting the cheese or topping on the pizzas which really she should be

Just rang to place an order, usually have no problems with this takeaway but the girl that answered didn’t put the phone down properly so we heard everything..She then went on to slag us off and do really quite terrible impressions of us and calling us all the names under the sun.Rang back and she denied it, obviously gave her a gob full for been such a vile unprofessional person (I use the term person loosely) got in touch with the manager and he was apologetic but we are still to receive an apology from the troll. Avoid at all costs.

Food ok, but the girl that works there is rude, ignorant and seems to forget without customers she would have no job. Our order was mixed up and while waiting to speak someone at the counter I could see her in the back mouthing off and generally been rude about us. Some customer service skills and general manners are needed, I will now be ordering from Bitz and pizzas were the food is great and staff are friendly.

Nice pizza, though I've read contrary reviews, when we went (ordered in shop Friday 8pm) the pizzas were cooked in about 15min, correct order, not over/under cooked & very tasty. I would revisit.

Seeing some of the reviews I'm a bit surprised. We stayed in one night during our stay in Whitby and as this was just round the corner thought we'd give it a go. Ordered three 12" pizzas and took a little while to arrive considering they were close. They were ok pizzas, not great but not terrible either just reasonable takeaway pizza. In fact I could do with a 1/2 star as I thought the meaty one was actually very tasty.

Place was quiet for a Saturday night and after the service i received i understood why. I ordered a pizza nothing else. While waiting the only other customer was complaining about their order she was missing a pizza. The lady eventually got hers. As i had been waiting over 30 minutes i enquired about my order to be told it hadn't been made and rudely given my money back no apology no explanation not even a chance to wait for a new order. It looked like the lady had been given my pizza to stop her complaining. I spoke to a few locals while at another take away and they confirmed my suspicions. So i won't be back to this take away.

Don't understand the bad reviews. Must have new staff. Have gotten take away here more than I care to admit haha. Pizza's have always been good, as well as garlic sauce and chips. Pretty quick too, usually 10-15 min.

Called in here a couple of times during our visit in Whitby. Very central across from the railway station. Very good selection of pizzas at very reasonable prices do delivery and pick ups. First night we only got some chips to eat on our way Home with red salt on and we was served by a lovely friendly young girl. We did try a 10 inch cheese and ham pizza £5.50 which was delicious and very tasty with plenty of filling. It is a very popular take away as they had a lot of telephone orders as well and delivery drivers coming in and out whilst we was waiting. I would definitely recommend a visit.

It Can Be Dreadful At Times, The Chips Is Basically More Of Box They Come In, Cardboard. Their Pizza's Are Soggy, Too Cheesy, Greasy, And Taste Like A Rotten Piece Of Bread That Has Been It Freezer For A Year. Many Months Ago, I Wrote A 2 Verse Long Diss On Porto Pizza's With My Good Friend Who Also Has Written A Review ( Spectre Studios ),Sadly, I Have Forgotten, So I Can Not Share It With You, :-( , Alround Dreadful, Much Rather Have A Bitz And Pizza's BBQ Chicken. But It CAn Be Good, Some Pizza's Are Really Nice, The Chicken Burger Is Da Peng Ting, And I Love The Garlic Sauce.

We have eaten many of times in the past from here, however it has gone drastically down hill.

Ordered cheesy chips, as I've been a vegetarian for five years, thought this would be a safe option. However I was horrified to find a piece of chicken which I had already bitten into as it was dark on my way home. Absolutely disgusted. If no stars was an option, that's what they would be getting. Never going again.

got a pepperoni pizza from here last week :( the pizza dough was uncooked and the topping (what topping) i bit of cheese and 3 pieces of pepperoni :(i had one bite and the rest went in the bin it was just awful the first and last time i will ever buy food from here again yuk! dont say i didn´t warn you!!
