Pleasant atmosphere and not at all shabbycafe - but by afternoon the pastie and the rolls had matured into hard building materials. I wouldn't use this even for bird food. say if It leaves me wonder if someone here has an idea of how long bakery items are saleable for. While all else was fine, the cafe visit was a disappointment which, unfortunately was memorable but there's a deserving pub nearby.

Very basic, not much choice of food. Lovely views and staff friendly. No sandwiches on offer so ended up with sausage rolls.

Have to agree with the previous reviewer - almost £6 for a coffee and small cake - felt ripped off - what always gets me is how they can justify 45p extra for soya milk that isn’t even advertised. We decided to go elsewhere for lunch!

This cafe used to be excellent especially the lunch menu but now only serves paninis, sub-standard pasties, barely cooked, extortionately priced small wedges of cake and very poor coffee. This use does to be our regular meeting point but will not be anymore.

This cafe is located in the visitors centre of the wetland centre. However it is open to people without paying an entrance fee. The cafe even offers splendid views over parts of the reserve. Food here was good, although service a little slow

The Widgeon Cafe is well worth a visit as it serves well prepared snacks and meals using locally sourced ingredients.

For a small cafe in a visitor centre this is amazing. Lovely well prepared and served food. Caters for all tastes including Vegan and vegetarians pretty unique for this type of place A real treat and we will return.

We had lunch overlooking the reserve. The cafe has panoramic views. There is also an outdoor eating area if the weather is warm enough. The menu is limited but it includes vegetarian and vegan options. The food is reasonably priced and was served promptly.

We went here for our grandsons’ birthday meal and really enjoyed it. I had a ham and cheese panini, my husband had Coronation chicken sandwich, others had chilli, jacket potatoes etc. Everything was very tasty and filling.

The food we had was good. Menu is a bit limited, but at the end of the day there is more choice you have compared with many other reserves, where in most cases only coffee/tea and some biscuits are on the menu.

Visited one Sunday. One person behind the counter......taking orders, doing hot drinks, taking money, poor girl was stuck in 1st gear despite a huge queue. We ordered leek and potato soup. We sat for 3/4 hour waiting for the soup to arrive. (Time was printed on our receipt) How long does it take to ladle three bowls of soup......? Eventually soup arrived. But had turned into tomato and pepper soup. One of our group has a severe and potentially serious allergy to peppers. We declined.....asked for a refund and left hungry.

Ideal for drinks and snacks whilst visiting the bird sanctuary. The cafe has a good range of food, snacks and drinks. It is clean and some of the tables have good views over the surrounding fenland.

I visited here with a friend in a wheel chair apart from large mat in doorway apparently to prevent germs is mostly wheel chair friendly. The shop could do with a bit more space for access. The restaurant is perfect with fantastic views and ample room for wheel chair. I had a cheese scone which was freshly cooked and delicious.

Lunch in this elevated cafe during half term holiday was busy as expected, but the wait for food was only about 10 minutes. Bright and airy with views over the lakes and fields. Plenty of hot food choices. Special lunchbox packs for children. Cakes, panini and sandwiches. Colouring sheets and coloured pencils for children in the restaurant. Plenty of babies high chairs available.

Nice Cafe with a great view. There is a limited selection of hot specials, but vegetarians are catered for. The Vegetable lasagne was very tasty. We also enjoyed a coffee and cake to warm up after our hare walk.

we expected Welney to be busy due to the swan festival and the queue for the cafe was quite long but we didn't have to wait very long and were then treated to a lovely good value lunch that was prepared quickly and delivered to our table.

We are regular visitors to the fabulous Welney WWT reserve. The shop and cafe are in a great setting with views over Lady Fen, so you can birdwatch over coffee or lunch!

Waited over an hour for food. We can see food up on the hot area, we received the food an hour and 20 after. One staff member did say it will be 20 minutes. We received the food, the order was wrong.

Very good value and lovely food and hot drinks. The main reason for my score was the friendliness of the proprietor. She made us so welcome and helped my mother with her mobility issues. We noticed there were several “ regulars “ who were also well looked after.

If you want to have your meal in a kids playground and don't actually want to listen to what your fellow diners are saying above the noise of small children hoovering the floor with plastic Dyson things and screaming all around you, then this is the place for you!! Really poor set up..all it needs is a bouncy castle in the room and you're well away!!! Have kids parties ...fine, but control them ?! In an area not right next to other diners who literally couldn't hear each other speak due to the screaming kids that the parents allowed to run riot! Food was average at best and v small portions for what you're paying... first visit and sadly the last for me
