Wiff Waff in Ipswich

I want to like this place, good vibe, good range of drinks, not bad food and a great karaoke on a Thursday night but for gods sake give it a clean, its minging. The toilets, the windows, everywhere just needs a bit of care and attention and then you’ll have a great venue.

I was a guest at a business function held upstairs in a cordoned off section of the bar. Buffet food was provided and was very nice with a good selection of tasty treats. England v USA was being shown on a massive screen and a number of small screens across the two levels. The venue was busy but not over crowded. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool tables were popular and overall everyone got along and had a good time.

Been a few times to watch football on their massive screen, always a great atmosphere and staff friendly even when rushed off their feet when really busy. Been in recently to try the new menu and loved it

I went on a saturday night with some friends. There was football on the big screen and there was loads to do - pool, table tennis, darts, board games and other things. It was really busy and there was a nice atmosphere. Drinks from the main bar were good, if a bit pricey. Draught beers at the upstairs bar were not great. The food was pretty awful. We ordered the sharing platter and it was very disappointing. Also were not given any cutlery or serviettes.

I’ve visited this business countless times over the years and it’s a shame to say it seems to be on it’s last legs. What is the idea of this place now? A restaurant? Dive bar? sports bar? Arcade? Social club? Whatever it is it’s cheap and falling apart quite literally compared to it’s hay-day. The last time I enjoyed myself at this place was last year during covid when the football was on. the staff were friendly and did the best they could given the situation, now there’s only a couple of friendly faces left who seem to be struggling to keep their motivation. The last straw for me was the new changes in management and their lack of care, while the bar is running around on busy weekends they are just standing there or hiding away while the ship sinks. The one I can only describe as a thug (tattooed neck and beanie) was doing drugs in the customer toilet! a couple of staff went above and beyond to compensate for managements lack of care. Malcom (the owner) is a very friendly guy and makes our experience worth the visit but we think he is getting walked over and taken the mick out of by his shift leaders. Myself and my wife are uncertain if we want to come back again but may give it another shot in a couple weeks to see if any changes have been made. I hate writing bad reviews and we’d rather leave constructive criticism so some pointers. - Figure out the theme of the business. - Stop spending money on useless things like an annoying punching bag and start spending it on fixing the health hazards & decor. - Look after the good staff and bin off the useless ones. (Including the 2 male & 1 female managers) Extra credit to Mark, Jake, Daisy + Hollie & Jack & Claudia if they still work there.

2 adults and 2 children came for a birthday get-together one evening. It was nice and quiet, so the kids were able to play air hockey, punch machine, table tennis, and pool. We ordered food, that wasn't anything to write about but was cheap. We had chicken burgers and chilli nachos. Kids shared normal nachos and a pizza. A fun evening.

We came to wiff waff for last Xmas drinks…due to uncertainties over a potential lockdown,we hadn’t arranged works party. Fantastic night enjoyed by all! Staff were friendly and despite being very busy where helpful too. Lady glass collector cleaned tables regularly whilst we were there. All tables and chairs sanitised too as soon as clear ready for next customers. We will be booking Xmas parties there in the future.

Place was shockingly dirty to the point we didn’t want to touch anything. We visited at 12 midday for my sisters lunch & place was disgusting. Tables & floor filthy & sticky with spilt drinks. No hand soap in toilets & hand sanitizers empty. Nice idea but needs a really good clean.

This place and all its staff were really organised, accomodating and very very lovely! I got let down with a large booking by another venue in Ipswich - but the team at wiff waff very quickly sorted a private area for my cohort who were graduating. It was a fantastic place to celebrate the last 3 years, they even sorted out some coctail/beer pong for us! They gave us a lot of freedom about how we ran the night and seemed like they wanted us all to have a good night (which we all did). I would recommend an event/party to booked here to anyone! The team were happy, a laugh and laid back (in a good way). Lots of communication and the manager (i think his name was chris...) was really easy to organise everything with. Great staff, great food and had a fantastic night some some really tasty coctails.

Lovely experience at Wiff Waff watching England vs Ukraine! Manager with red hair is an absolute sweetheart and catered to our needs without hesitation despite it being very busy. Really appreciate the effort. Thank you Wiff Waff!

Absolutely amazing atmosphere, the staff are so friendly and the service is always amazing! Can’t fault this place or how it is run.

Been sat here for 40 minutes so far and all that’s happened is…NOTHING! Took around 15 minutes before we were acknowledged as waiting after the security guy told the staff we were still waiting. Our order was taken and told to pay, and then a further 25 minutes and we are still waiting for drinks. We asked where they were and were told they were coming. It’s not busy, currently 5 tables sat downstairs, nobody upstairs and nobody outside. Whilst writing this 3 of our drinks arrived, 3 beers, the rest had been forgotten. A short guy with red hair, been told he’s the manager, slammed the drinks down on the table…”what’s missing then”… these were then eventually brought over and also slammed down. No apology, no sign of a sorry! Would NOT recommend and will NOT return! Didn’t even drink 2 of our drinks as this already had spoiled the night now, so we left as soon as they were put on the table. If it wasn’t going to take probably another 40 minutes, I would have asked for a refund.

Worst service I’ve ever had. Our drinks order was taken 3 times and then apparently lost!? Reassured our drinks were being made multiple times. Lies. 45 minutes later and we’re still waiting (we paid upfront). Staff completely useless, seems like they didn’t want to be working. Never coming back here again. *** Order finally came, half the drinks were missing. Took them another 15 minutes to actually finish the order.

There really are no words to describe how poor this establishment has become, a shame because it was once a great and quirky place to visit. We arrived and were seated no problem. Our drinks order was taken after maybe 10 minutes of waiting, again fine with covid and table service etc. We waited for 15 minutes, no drinks arrived. The barman then came over with the bill and sat at the table with us to sort payment. We did this, a little annoyed that the drinks weren't brought at the same time. We then waited a while, in which time a different staff member approached to ask if we wanted to place an order for last orders, despite the fact we hadn't yet received our initial order. We said we were still waiting for our drinks, and the initial barman promised us multiple times that our drinks were coming in passing. 4 out of 6 drinks finally arrive 40 minutes after us being seated. The guy that brought them over, a red haired guy called Chris, advised that part of our order had been scribbled out, so we then had to tell them again what we wanted before waiting more time for the drinks to appear. The final two drinks were brought over by Chris, who then slammed them down in front of us without even an apology for the delay. By this point, I was so frustrated by the delay and total lack of service that I left. Service was beyond poor, with staff flailing about with no sense of direction. There didn't seem to be any kind of management in place, or at least no good management. We had to deal with three different members of staff to get one simple order to the table, really would not recommend going there!

Arrived 7.45pm to watch the Germany/France game. Plenty of people about though still some tables and seats downstairs. 2 Ladies serving drinks (working there booties off) and two blokes behind the bar having a really good time. Sat for 20 mins before asked if wanted a drink, 20 minutes later bought my lager over but not my friends bottle of red as they were "waiting for it to be opened". after 20 mins I finish my lager, my friend hasn't had his yet. I go to the loo, well I have never seen anything like it in there, urinals are overflowing with wee, so I go into the cubicle, looks like it hasn't been cleaned all day. Im telling you I really didn't want to use it but had to. No toilet paper. Thankfully there was some soap. Went back outside, still no drink for my friend. Enough was enough. We went there to eat and drink but to be honest if the toilets are that bad then what is the kitchen like. Got refund for the wine which never arrived. I cant understand how the guys behind the bar have a job. People want to eat and drink and they are doing nothing. Told them as such and went to Issacs to eat/drink/watch the football. The girls deserve a medal.

I have a fantastic time here every weekend, even during the week, the staff is absolutely fantastic, both chris, brandon, robyn, mae they are all amazing, great food, great prices, great vibe, perfect for a night out or just food.

Lovely vibe and staff very helpfully. Drinks with a twist with stir in flavours. Really enjoyed our time with friends to catch up. Very clean and social distance rules applied but still felt you could relax and enjoy our time safely. Highly recommend.

Friendly and helpful staff, but very poor quality food for the price. Bland and tasteless, reheated frozen food of a similar quality to Icelands finest. We will not be visiting again or would we recommend anyone else does.
