Costa Coffee in Ipswich

I just had a coffee Black Nun can't really mess that up costa has a far superior bean than that a certain other brand with a pentagram in there name and a mermaid just strange anyway I digress I can't eat anything in most off the Coffee shops as I am gluten-free.

Staff friendly, clean pleasant atmosphere

I was visiting a friend in the hospital. Considering the location, it's one of the best Costa sites in the area. Very clean and well laid out. The staff were absolutely lovely.

I think they are short staffed hence some of the table are not cleaned. Those who are in are friendly enough.

About to close but took put order and told us not to rush! Apologies was made S she only had takeaway cups. This was mot a bother to us. Great atmosphere.

Always a cherry smile and welcome, which given location and the personal challenges of many visitors is a breath of fresh air. Thank you.

Cold toasty, inedible. Within 5 min returned. Refund refused. Photos available. Very rude. Not happy.

Table was very wobbly, spilt half my drink when I sat down because of this. £8 drink and only got half of it. I'm am disappoint, the embodiment of disappoint.

This place needs to have food options for coeliacs.

Possibly the worse tasting coffee in any Costa I’ve been to - it doesn’t matter who makes it, it’s awful. Service is equally bad - queue always has at least 15 people plus 5 waiting for coffee to be delivered. Normal coffee shop processes don’t seem to work - they are broken - it’s a mess! Sadly when you are doing daily visits to the hospital, unless you bring a flask you have no choice to use this abomination of a Costa! Oh and 2 small coffees (in wasteful takeaway cups because they were only serving takeaway coffee at 10:30am) and a tiffin £9.60!

Overpriced! No atmosphere and 16 year old students serving!!

Best Costa Coffee in Ipswich,Jack is amazing every week we come,so helpful,friendly and so very kind when I was upset having a bad day,well done Jack you are the reason we always come back.

Popped in today after visiting a family member. The girl who served me was only a trainee I believe from her name badge but she was so lovely, amazing customer service skills, a real credit to the store especially being so new! Will definitely pop back should I ever be at the hospital again.

Unfortunately I did not have a drink because I was supporting a lady who because of her disability cannot use paper cups. I asked for a China cup but this was refused. I was told that I could only have a paper cup as they were not using China ones. I am disgusted that a cafe in a hospital disgriminates against a person with a learning disability. There were 4 or 5 staff chatting behind the counter. I said that if they did not want to help this lady we would take our business elsewhere. Very, very disappointed and let down. Discrimination lives on at Costa. Dreadful experience.

Some lovely staff but service is about a 20 minute wait every time you go in

Poor quality product and staff with the ability to fleece and exploit vulnerable patients and poorly paid hospital staff with rude staff which appears to be the norm. Worse than rubbish

It's a generic outlet. Overpriced clean with robot programmed staff.

Haven't been here since the hospital has been undergoing building work. This Costa near the main entrance is so much nicer. Bigger, so more seating, and recycling bins for customer's cups and lids.

I had to complain twice to get the Cake I had ordered and paid for. My drink was getting cold. Awful service.

It was expensive and the tea was horrible

Friendly staff one has a face mask on and the other has a face shield and not once have I seen them use hands sanitiser after every drink they have made and not using glove to handle sugar or cakes........... pandemic people..............

Ipswich hospital one Costa with no coffee the other Costa doesn't do things like cheese and bacon turnovers or sausage rolls, hope they get well soon.

Great store and great service considering the nature and location of the store. The staff are very kind and positive considering the circumstances you would be in a hospital. Excellent service. Had a lovely after 8 hot chocolate 🍫 😋 its was the best first one I tried absolutely perfect and the mint was lovely it took me about 15 minutes because really bad on my legs as suffer with blood clots but it was ok tho yummy 😋

nice coffee, bit pricey slow service

After waiting half an hour for two hot chocolate drinks, I asked for help and was told that I hadn't ordered them! When I showed my receipt, I was served fairly quickly, but there was no apology. Everyone was moaning about how slow the service was and the fact that the cakes were left on plates uncovered for long periods of time while you're waiting for your drink to be Prepared. I should add that this was at Ipswich hospital site.

I had a hot chocolate, it wasn't hot at all, when I took it back & complained, the reply I got was it wasn't ment to be that hot.

The cuppa was nice at the hospital costa but some staff members looked like they didn't want to be there, a smile wouldn't hav gone a miss !! The toastie was disappointing but cake nice.

I had a drink at the Costa Coffee South entrance of Ipswich Hospital yesterday ( 05/11/19) with my partner as I’m currently an inpatient on the Cancer Ward. I’m currently borderline neutropenic so have been told to keep very clean and to try and prevent any issues whereby I can catch infections. When ordering our drinks, I looked up above the serving counter to see the lights covered in dust & cobwebs, as well as the extractor fans covered in grime and dirt! The filters on the ceiling looked like they had never been cleaned, covered in thick dust! This is directly above a food serving counter! I found it astonishing that as a hospital which should be clean & as sterile as could be, there were nurses & Doctors, in their scrubs standing directly under this grime! I looked around the rest of the room to again find cobwebs in most corners of the walls. I made my concerns known to a staff member, but she just shrugged and said “ we are very understaffed”! I most certainly will NOT be using this again! The photos don’t show in detail the issues!

Nice coffee and they appear to be trying to recycle their cups but very disappointing to see boxes and boxes of sealed food / biscuits/ cake etc being thrown into a skip because it was about to go out if date. I queried why it couldn't go to a homeless unit or similar and the staff said it was against company policy. Sadly I will not be using Costa Coffee again.

Nice small coffee shop within Ipswich Hospital. Staff seemed friendly and efficient. They noticed I was using a walking stick, so they offered to bring my tray over once ready. The snack and drink were nice.

Service was rather slow! But the coffee was good.

The drinks, the sweet selection, and the savoury food is of the highest standards. The staff are also very polite and fast. But the prices really let Costa down for me. Far too expensive for me to be a regular customer.

It's small and the tables not cleared very quick lot of people were clearing there own tables i wouldn't go there again unless i was taking out

Brilliant, great tasting coffee quick service cleaned up and found us a table quickly and latte and muffin was lovely defo 5 stars

just terrible, every time theres a mistake or ingredients left out of the coffees , cold coffee,or coconut latte advertised and no coconut milk etc.. dishwasher broken so paper cups to drink in on and on..

Sunday 1800hrs Wait in line and eventually I get asked “what do you want!” I Say I would like some cakes to take out please and get told “I’m just doing drinks” and he walks off....... as do I. A lot to learn about how to speak to customers and customer service! In future I’m going to an independent coffee shop and get spoken to like a human being. Very poor Costa!

I can recommend the breakfast wrap. Could be the best meal ever!

Hospital Costa. Not my usual place but good service

I really like it here. Great atmosphere and service. The ideal place to pause in the day or, if it's too hectic in the office I just turn up with my laptop and work in between coffees, and the staff don't mind. I'm there so often, my Costa loyalty card is loaded 😊

Same as all costas really, overpriced but there's a vending machine that does really nice drinks at 2 nearby places in the hospital building third of the price but no seating or friendly staff so depends what you want/want to pay

It's always busy so expect to wait awhile
