Went this evening for a roast dinner with my wife, was told sarcastically by a young girl in glasses with long frizzy hair that we were too late, and need to arrive before 5pm, as they don’t order enough meat, won’t be going again.

Really lovely place to eat. Friendly staff The only problem is you can't put any suggestions on the AP orders, like removing or adding or even say well done egg, with out having to go up to the bar. It would be nice to change it please.

Very nice and clean good friendly service,two meals for £12.79 good value for money will definitely be coming back.

Not wholly the fault of the pub (always read the small print!) I had converted Clubcard points to vouchers but didn't realise that when you use these any multi savings deal do not apply This meant my £12 voucher only saved about £3 against the price of not using them. I would've been better off not converting and just spending the £6 in Tesco! Perhaps I should've read the T&Cs but the pub would know better than me and I feel they should've pointed out the situation when I was paying I will go again as its a decent good value option but think twice before using Clubcard points

Staff are nice, but no bother with the food. This was the second time. If it was the first, I wouldn't have said anything about it. It was cold, burnt, and lettuce leaves lots of lettuce. Not impressed to be honest

Following Fulham away and popped into here before the game Food nice but could have been hotter. Orange juice wasn't nice at all but staff changed it for us without any fuss. Very nice helpful staff, even for an ipswich fan 😀

We had not been to The Thrasher for a year or so but having family over from USA for 3 weeks we decided we were going to eat out for most of our holiday. We found The Thrasher to be a perfect place to eat. Very easy to book. Staff were very helpful and friendly, tables always cleaned quickly, managed very efficiently. A very good menu with fantastic deals everyday which gave us a wide affordable choice of meals. Food was delicious, always hot and served with a smile from staff. No salad I ordered and no steak my husband ordered

Was looking for a place to have a family dinner while down from London. I popped in to see if they could accommodate a family meal. The staff were extremely helpful and sorted a table in minutes. We used the QR code for our meal and it was simple and easy to navigate. Our food came out and was really good, from the kids meals, to the burgers, lasagna and tandoori chicken ( which I highly recommended) . The staff were on point and extremely helpful in clearing our plates and asking if we required any additional service. All in all a really good service which I can’t fault at all. When we come back again next year we will definitely pay them a visit again. Ps.. had a great chat with the gentlemen that supports Ipswich that works there. Lovely bloke and told him we would be going to the Ipswich Fulham game, helped us with directions for both the train or bus. Great customer service 👍

Visited yesterday with my daughter , the service was excellent , staff very polite and attentive. This pub has really been turned around , we Will definitely be back !!

We were both welcomed and found a table very quickly before it started getting busier. we both had the all day breakfast which was reasonable value.nice selection of sauces available. only criticism was the toast being very small slices and rather hard.

Popped in for the Wednesday drink and curry night before I had to take my son to karate..50 mins I waited with no prior warning of any problems in their kitchen...so i had to asked for a refund so I could get to my son in time. I was refunded minus the drink and no apology which to be honest you should of gave me my drink for free sitting around for 50 mins...you ov had a problem as no food at all left that kitchen. Won't be using again

Well supported local pub eatery. Food and drink served at good prices. Good for young families, groups, and after work drink. Do remember to put your car VRN into the tablet at reception otherwise £100 fine.

Great food, lovely service and very friendly manager.

Adult food was good value, tasty and good portion size, kids pasta was atrocious, soggy, claggy and not fit for consumption. Guybehjnd the bar knew his stuff but was let down by colleagues too busy chatting rather than helping clear the queue. App didn't work at all either.

Super helpful friendly owner. Very good value for money. Vegetarians, vegans and people who eat gluten-free are also welcome. Free parking in a large parking lot for guests.

The food was lovely. Although the onion rings were missing from both mine and my husband's meal. When we mentioned it the waitress can put with just 2 onion rings. The staff that served us seem very miserable and didn't apologise for forgetting some of our food. But again the food was nice, although the portion sizes were very small. Value for money was poor and the service was quick but the staff were miserable. Seemed to be run by kids. Won't be going again anytime soon.

Ordered food one meal comes out then 10-15 min later next one and there was a few of us .We had to return a lot of the food due to being cold. The girl bringing the food out needs further training was rude , dropping stuff from the plates she was bring out. The assistant manager was very helpful can not fault him & the staff behind the bar was very friendly unfortunately the other few staff wasn't very great. The place use to be decent. Won't be returning again! Don't waste your money people!

Well, what can I say, talk about above and beyond!! 😁 So, I had just come out of hospital after having a hip replacement. I really fancied a roast dinner because I had been to the thrasher on several occasions and the food has always been good. I thought on the off chance I would ring them and ask if they delivered because I am just a couple of mins away in the car, but of course, I can't drive yet. Anyway, I spoke to the Manager (Stuart) and told him I had just come out of hospital ( bla, bla,bla) and to my astonishment he very kindly said on this occasion he would come over and bring my friend and myself a roast dinner. Thank you. What a very kind thing to do and it was much appreciated.

Great value food, cheaper than a lot of restaurants and good portion sizes. Staff are absolutely lovely and were very helpful when what we wanted wasn't available. The kids area is great, adults can relax with a drink after a meal and the kids burn off their energy. Everything is fenced off so you can relax a bit.

Good food and service, took a while to get the food but to be fair it was busy. Only thing to have a bit of a moan at is there isn't enough parasols and enjoy eating outside in the summer

We visited The Thrasher public house on 20.6.24 and initially only wanted a drink however we decided to have a meal as well. The pub is supposed to be dog friendly but how wrong we were. We had ordered and were sitting on our own with our dog on a lead. Suddenly as if from nowhere this large female person with an England shirt appeared and aggressively confronted my wife and said your dog is running around barking. I did try and point out it was a dog and had always been on a lead. She said I can hear it in the kitchen. My dog only barked for a few seconds. It was only at that point I realised she was staff. I would suggest that she should undergo some intense customer relation training so as to learn how to be polite. My wife and I found her to be rude and very irritating. Our visit was spoilt by this incident. All I can say is the pub is also definitely NOT dog friendly. We will not be returning although the food was good value. Spoke to manager as per his reply via the review site. We explained that our review was 100% genuine. Kindly offered us vouchers but these have never been seen to date. Now a month on and still no vouchers received.

Working away from home, found a venue to watch the euros. Excellent menu, different to other Greene king places that I am used to, so I had many questions about food times and menus. All were well received and answered with knowledge and integrity. More importantly the Peroni was on point and the food served was great and exceeded expectations. I was very well looked after by Chanelle on arrival and thereafter. The sports bar had many screens including a large pull down which Stuart(manager/landlord) I assume arrange for myself and the locals who were present. 1st time in the Ipswich area, will definitely return.

Look a big sharer starter and 2 mains plus 2 drinks came out at £15 a head out bellies are full and I'm quite satisfied what more needs saying it's not top tier food but it's adequate and filling staff are friendly as well !

Staff were friendly and helpful, food was plentiful, hot and tasty , came out in good time The nut roasts were tasty and a nice size, plenty of vegetables and gravy. The Gammon steaks were 1 of the best of had, chips were hot and cooked well , I often eat here , so I recommend

Had a great afternoon sitting in the garden with plenty of room whilst the kids played in the play area. Food was very nice, portion size was plentiful, and hot. The manager was really accommodating and bought our food out in good time. Will be back again very soon. Thanks guys.

Food wasn't the best desert didn't have what it was supposed to have on it cheap ice cream to taste just wasn't there sorry there was 3 of us my kid had the lasagne from the kids menu that was bad he didn't eat hardly any of it the kids after was a dry chocolate finger used to come.wuth ice cream found You had to pay an extra pound to get it how cheap is that for a kids scoup

We have used this restaurant many times over the years and enjoyed many family meals. Unfortunately this time, celebrating my sons birthday, it was awful. No 12oz rumps so we settled for 2 off 8oz rumps, one rare and one medium. One chicken skewers and one scampi. The steaks were so tough and full of gristle neither of us could eat them, chips on all 4 plates were only warm and the chicken skewers were sinewey. The only thing eaten out of the 4 plates was the scampi. We were offered a refund for the chicken and 2 rumps but 2 cokes one san miguel and a few scampi was an expensive mistake. Doubt we will return any time soon, great shame.

Place gets busy so food may take a while to arrive but everything was delicious and well worth the wait . Prices have gone up but still good value. Would recommend if your not in a hurry !. Update Bring back the old chicken strips ;(

Good value for money with good quick and polite service.

Popped in after work on friday and was very busy with some sort of party. despite this i found the staff amazing and food was served quickly and hot. well done to the landlord and his staff.

Quick drink and a sharer platter whilst charging the car. (Excellent EV chargers btw...) Underwhelmed. Looked good. Crispy goujons were chewy, chips undercooked and chicken wings left as they didn't look great. Not bad but not great.

Big party of us last night for our friends leaving meal.My friend is vegetarian and was served meat!!! Was apologised to but should never have happened.Service very slow.We had almost finished before others even got theirs.Measly portion sizes of lukewarm food.Definitely won't be returning.Run by a load of kids.

Lovely meal and considering they were very busy the food arrived in good time but disappointed the beef roast had run out after we placed our order and no mash but the staff did come out and explain so went for turkey but tbh the turkey came out and was good. We did order separate one used the app but it was still ok Manager and staff were friendly and helpful. Will defiantly visit again 😊

Food is mostly dry and/or undercooked. It is cheap though.

Went for breakfast with a friend. There was a 2 for 1 offer on the traditional breakfast which we both had. It was great value for money (£4.29 for both) and with a half pint of orange juice and a hot chocolate the bill came to a little over £10.

Two weeks running now I have orded food before friends and have received my food after they have finished and just nearly got there deserts before my food was out I suppose consistency is there no

Ordered the halloumi strips with chilli dip for starter, when arrived noticed missing the chilli dip mentioned to waitress as passed table no apologies just told I'll tell them about it and sort it next time!!! So next time I visit and order halloumi strips I'll get 2 dips.

Sauce missing of Halloumi fires waitress was not interested just said I tell them for next time chicken was like rubber and fish was not very hot very disappointing

Lovely food, friendly staff and a good price. I believe new owners have taken over and the seats are much nicer/newer and the eating areas seem nice and clean. Will be back again soon.

Fantastic Easter breakfast, even had a visit from the Easter bunny and received an egg for my 3year old. Great service all round and great food. Restraint was also very clean and tidy, hats off to all staff for a great outing.

We had a party of 12 for a birthday yesterday. Staff and service were great. Food we had was lovely. Only negative we had was the non gluten containing menu. We were told it’s not a gluten free menu it just has non gluten containing foods. We wanted a sandwich which was showing on menu but apparently it’s not on gluten free bread. Other than that we had no problems. The New Manager was so attentive.
