Not from Ipswich traveling from USA and visiting family, visited this location as it looked different from outside. Excellent service. Server gave change back and we advised her to keep it, she turned around and and instead of placing in tip jar she put it in a charity donation box 🙂

It's a place with friendly staff and everything is great. I definitely recommend you to try it.

Coffee is good as ever, but the outside seating area is unpleasant. Dirty cups, plates and unwiped tables, discarded takeaway cups and rubbish on the floor, full ashtrays. Come on, you can do much better!

Food and drinks are lovely, and the staff is welcoming and happy. Good atmosphere. Accepting vouchers for three £1 coffee. The only negative thing is toilet, located upstairs and locked, so you have to ask for a key before climbing upstairs, not good when you are in need, and forget to ask! Had a lovely hazelnut ice coffee, a bit strong but lovely 😍

Great chain coffee shop, friendly staff, fast service and ample choices of hot and cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches and cakes etc. Clean seating areas and a huge upstairs with some secret historical displays.

OK, ish, not the cleanest claire, and I have been in. We sat at a table 2 trays left on chairs and table these were not cleaned up by staff for the time we were in there .toilets not the best and not clearly signed

Nice drinks and lovely staff. The place is very run down however, needs a revamp.

Accessible toilet - no soap, feaces stains near rim of toilet bowl, urine collected twixt cistern and back of toilet. The chart outside, was ticked for checking @12:10!

Staff, coffee, and food are smashing!! I am agoraphobic, meaning that it is difficult for me to get beyond my front door. If I plan my first stop to be at the Caffè Nero haven, I am drawn out of my house and my darkness.

I've only put 4 stars where it could've so easily been 5. Now I know it's a personal thing like marmite but when I go somewhere for a coffee and a catch up chat the last thing i want to put up with is 2 yapping creatures. It's a coffee shop not a flippin pampered pooch parlour,leave em at home or get a take out and take em to the park!!

I just stopped in here for a quick drink, but enjoyed the space and atmosphere of the upstairs area. It wasn't too busy, late in the day on the weekend, so I was able to just relax in the comfy chairs for a while with a hot drink. Service and drinks were standard for a Nero, no complaints.

Took a while to get serviced. But that's OK. Because my friend came in.

Always love a hot chocolate from here. Always find the paninis are quite limited and go quite quickly so not always much choice. Service is good

Nice place, mostly peaceful. Could do with a clean and the furniture could do with changing or invest in some throws at least they can be washed. Food is nice 😋

I like the cafe vibe and the coffee and the staff are great but all the food is very expensive for what it is.

The place is dirty, seat worn & soiled, didnt want to sit down. Tables dirty crumbs everywhere. Only recommend takeaway & or Costa/Starbucks where they clean.

Lovely place. Staff are always helpful. (That was 6 years ago) Today the coffee was amazing, the service was lovely. Only downfall was being told we use oatmilk as normal now. Other than that yum. Come to Nero. Also use meerkat movies app to get 25% off.

Love the coffee but the decor really let's this place down big time, my seat today by the window looked like a rat had been having a lovely time on the arm,when will a refurbishment be happening come on nero up your game, people pay good money and we should expect a decent standard like the outlet in colchester in fenwick. Another good point the staff are very good but working in that sort of environment all the time must be pretty demoralising.

Drinks are good but the wifi is awful and I can never get any work done :(

Whenever I go there, they are repairing or waiting for repairs to machines. Running on a shoe string I think. Paper cups for expensive drinks is no acceptable.

At the café Nero butter market junction with upper brook Street Ipswich. Sunday 8/5/22. A woman who had 2 dogs was allowed to sit with them on her lap, and then a staff member brought her water which was placed on the table. The woman then proceeded to let the dogs onto the table from her lap to drink. Disgusting.

Café Nero never disappoints. Not only is the coffee / cappaccino /nice latte amazing, it has a very relaxed atmosphere which is superb for a nice afternoon break. The staff always make a babychino for the toddler too!

Walked in at 5:45pm this Saturday evening baring in mind they close at 6pm and got turned away as they was closing soon. Disappointed.

Asked for a large tea, I asked if I wanted milk, yes I replied the girl obviously doesn't drink tea as she had made the tea pretty milky (not my taste) I asked if I could have an extra tea bag her reply was I'll have to charge you an additional 50p bearing in mind I'd just paid £2.15 for a tea bag in a cup with hot water....😱 In the end I asked for a different large tea with the milk separate which she did then she threw the first cup of tea away. I mean seriously how pathetic. In the end I drank the tea just because I'd paid £2.15 for a tea. Plus the girl was NOT the most polite member of staff. She even insisted that they ALWAYS charge for 50p for an extra tea bag which I know isn't true because I've had an extra tea bag before and not been charged I understand charging 50p for an extra shot of coffee but come on a tea bag!!!! This would have made a cup of tea £2.65 just because she had chosen to put a huge splash of milk in..... NOT HAPPY I SHALL NOT BE RETURNING well not to the store on Buttermarket St Ipswich NOT ANGRY, just disappointed

The place is lovely especial upstairs. I love the seating area as it is so cosy and relaxed. The coffee was great as alsways and the staff nice and friendly.

Would have been a 5 but didn’t have my favourite egg sandwiches. Great coffee. Prompt service ordered over the phone 9 items at 5pm and was ready as soon as I arrived 10 mins later.

Only problem here is that they don't have toilet facility on ground floor, too many stairs for some, impossible for others. Shame as do lovely coffee and light snacks.

I visited Cafe Nero near Buttermarket in Ipswich today with some friends as I did before. My friends tend to appreciate the coffee in this place, me, not so much... Its a bit too strong for me. The problem in general is that their toilets usually are very messy and overall, today were completely out of service. So, there was no toilet available for the customers to use. When I asked the staff they apologised and said that the nearest toilet to use is the one in Buttermarket shopping centre (aprox 5 mins walking). I insisted and I was redirected to the manager who she did apologise again for the inconvenience, which I appreciate, but I really needed to go to the toilet and I insisted one more time, the manager did not had any sympathy for me and continued to send me to Buttermarket Shopping Centre. When I asked to make a complaint about she told me to go on website and seemed disturbed by this fact, I tried the website but I could not find any possibility to write that complaint, hence this review. I am so disappointed by the way the manager and staff managed the situation today. You serve drinks but do not have a toilet available... What about staff? Did they had to go to Buttermarket Shopping Center as well? Then come back and carry on theirs shift? Like I had to do?

Staff are unprofessional and emotional they yell as if they’re being held on gunpoint. The Romanian barista who served me couldn’t even make beverages properly, she has trouble comprehending her customers, it’s the worst ever thing I’ve ever drank. You wouldn’t get this unprofessionalism in Costa Coffee. Plus their WiFi doesn’t connect, cleaning equipment are all over the place and pricing doesn’t justify their quality. Do not visit Caffè Nero at buttermarket waste of space. Wish I could rate this cesspool with zero stars.

Normally I enjoy my experience there and got my coffee always just the way I requested americano with a little hot milk on top even a little frothy which I like I'm a new customer and got my coffee like that all the time except for the other day when I asked for my usual I was told by this particular server that i would have to pay capuchino prices even though it was an americano with a slither of milk on the top froth or not so I said no why should I pay capuchino prices they weren't nice to me and refused to serve me how humiliating🤷🤷☕

Just love cafe Nero Buttermarket Ipswich. Denise makes the best coffee in town. Nice friendly atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble. Quiet study area upstairs. An oasis in this busy town.
