My first time trying this place. Very lively and great staff. Food was really tasty and the staff were very attentive and friendly despite the fact they were busy at all times. I highly recommend this place.

Everything is fresh and prepared on the spot; regrettable that on a Saturday 7:30 p.m. several dishes on the menu were already no longer available.

Tasty chicken but the portions are small.

Strange experience. Had been here before for brunch and loved it. I returned alone for lunch during some last minute Christmas shopping and sat downstairs inside. I ordered a drink and asked if the chicken burger came with fries as there was no mention of it on the menu - to which waitress replied that she assumed so. She then returned minutes later to say in fact they were £4 more and separate. Fine, if a little odd for staff not to know this considering how small the menu selection is! My soft drink took almost 10 minutes to arrive which is a shame as it was only in a can. The burger arrived and I immediately noticed that the chips were tepid, on the verge of being cold. I asked the nearest waitress would it be ok to change them and her reply was "this is how they come" (Um, cold??!!). She awkwardly swapped them and I enjoyed my burger. I really want to like this place but I feel I won't return based on the service and standards. They were far from short staffed given that there were a maximum of 6 diners on the floor I was sitting at and some staff were loitering around the bar looking bored. To top it off the room was freezing so all in all I can safely say this was a bad choice for lunch. Such a shame.

The worst meal we've ever had. Ended up having the bill cancelled from £150 to £0 which reflects just how awful the night was. The manager was unapologetic.

I've visited this restaurant multiple times and it usually is a great place to go if you don't have a booking and struggling to find somewhere to go in the area then the staff are really good at squeezing you in. Firstly, the first time I visited back in 2018 pre-pandemic the menu seemed to have a lot more variety and better options and the food was really good despite the service being extremely slow. 3 years later, it seems that the food is now mediocre/ very average and the slow service has gotten a lot worse. I visited earlier in the week with my friend on Tuesday and our starter arrived before our drinks. It took over 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive and we had to constantly pester waiters on the status of our main and drinks. When our mains arrived, we both had ordered the chicken schnitzel it seemed quite bland and lacked seasoning. I ordered the truffle mayo and parmesan fries and it wasn't the best, it seemed like it was a lot better in previous years. This place is OK but it could be so much better if they had more variety and if dishes had seasoning and something interesting about them. Also please do not continue to serve paying customers when you have a big corporate function, the service was unacceptable and whilst I am grateful for not paying for the drinks or service charge we still paid £40 for bad service and overpriced food.

Been here several times and always had a good time and delicious food (their mulled wine during winter times is a plus). We have now also tried out their Sunday roast menu, very tasty!

The staff was lovely, the food was great! My children loved the mini burgers and I think the food rage is perfect for people that just want to eat good and fast, no fancy and posh vibes, with eye- watering prices. We had no reservation, on a Saturday, lunch time, and they still wanted to help us! Price tag wise, 38£ the tree of us, tips included. So, way better than expected! Defo we'll have a next time!

Overpriced and poor menu States that they serve cocktails, only if you choose THEIRS my local pub does better food and drinks. Simple concept ask the customer what sort of cocktail and charge accordingly. A COCKTAIL BAR THAT DOES NOT SERVE COCKTAILS. SIMPLY BEING ON CARNABY STREET DOES NOT WARRANT 13 POUNDS FOR A BURGER. COMPLETE RIP OF 24 POUNDS, FOR BURGER CHIP AND A DRINK. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY Not A COCKTAIL Bar. Not a bar of any sort. Even the blood orange drink is not made fresh.

Terrible service. Food came before drinks, and we had finished the food by the time the drinks arrived. Refused to pay the service charge and could tell no one had any idea what they were doing (including how to sort the new bill). Thought they were understaffed, but noticed a lot of standing around and doing nothing on the bar, with the one server running around doing everything. Overall, a really poor experience, bad service, mediocre food. The drinks were ok, but shouldn't of taken over 25 minutes to make.

When we approached this place, The “host” stood at the entrance chatting to two colleagues with his arms crossed (and for the duration of our visit) no one tried to acknowledge and chat to potential customers eyeing up the menu outside which was baffling. Seated at the bar, the space next to us needed clearing albeit 5 members of staff in eyesight and not busy. We then had to ask for someone to take out order. Going slightly off piste (eg not on the menu) we asked for two bloody Mary’s. When the bar lady asked the manager how to make this it didn’t bode well. To be fair, the manager disappeared for a while to hunt for tomaoto juice for us off the premises though it took at least 5 mins before the lady told us this was the case only to come back with no joy. Throughout all of this, staff idled around, ate and drank coffee behind the bar (no hand washing in between). Food was ok - overly salted chips and no one asked how it was till we had finished and then we had to ask for the bill. I’m afraid we won’t be back.

Medium size portions, very big prices. Sides not included on those prices. To me, the food wasn't good enough (food was ok) to justify those prices. I know you pay for the location, which I don't agree with. I'd say go and try, and judge by yourself, me personally, won't go again. The service was good, very nice staff.

Beer, cocktails and … good vibes?? Definitely not… even thought it says so at the door. The staff here is super rude, they won’t try to sit you down even if there’s availability because they just can’t be bothered. Probably a too popular spot for them to put any effort. The two stars is because at least the cocktails are decent.

This is a lovely British burger place in the heart of carnaby street. Staff is helpful and friendly. It is generally quite busy, so best to make a reservation. They have some really nice cocktails, and lots of vegetarian/vegan options, along with mostly chicken dishes (burgers + wings).

Nice little stop off whilst doing a spot of pre holiday shopping! Fairly standard beer selection, but the cocktails did look good! Staff were friendly and courteous… had buffalo wings, salad and some fries… not sure I’d say the wings should be called buffalo, as they didn’t taste like it… would go back, maybe I’d just choose something different - fantastic location!

So-so food menu but good service and the drinks were nice.

Waited half an hour for our drinks to arrive and then when our food arrived 3/4 mains arrived and the 4th arrived about ten minutes later. Waiting staff were clearly stressed out and doing their best. Please hire more staff! Very chaotic atmosphere.

The quality of the food was outstanding. We had a large group and they managed to provide great service, and every dish was found to be delicious. The Chicken Supreme and the Parmesan Fries are two of the best dishes in our collective opinion!

Not a good experience. Went in for dinner on Saturday night, the rest of carnaby heaving and this place empty (not even surprised), stood for about 5 mins before someone came over to us, asked for a table and he looked around, at all the empty tables, like there was nothing available? Bruv your empty!! What are you looking for! Had to ask our server to take a drinks order, not a good first impression, had to flag him down again every other time to order/pay. Honestly this place could seriously do with a real hard look at the service you give - just because it’s in carnaby street doesn’t mean that you can get away with shoddy service. Two stars instead of one because the food wasn’t bad at all. But oh my days man hire some competent staff.

Dry chicken and uninspiring menu

A really good and lovely vibe! We were served by Hamza who was extremely friendly and gave amazing service, and left a good impression on me and my friend, it would be wrong to not mention him as I feel they deserve the recognition:)

My sister and I came here for drinks and unfortunately we had a pretty awful service experience. We ordered truffle fries as soon as we sat down because we had already eyed them on the menu outside and they were part of the reason why we chose the place. We then ordered our drinks and waited - we did that for about 20 mins ad the fries never showed up, so we had to chase the waitress about them, and it looked like she had forgotten to process our order. Following from this first disappointment, came the ones about the drinks: my sister had ordered a Margarita and I ordered a Carnaby Queen, and when they came mine didn’t taste nothing like what it said on the menu… when I asked for the bill, it showed a “Negroni” instead of a “Carnaby Queen” and the waiter simply said they had misunderstood. At that point we were late for our lunch reservation and had to leave quite quickly, but they didn’t even do us a courtesy discount and proceeded to make us pay full price. Very disappointing experience, will not be coming here again.

The best chicken burger I have ever eaten! The sweet potato fries and french fries were awesome too - get the extras on your fries! Really enjoyed this place.

I went to dinner with my friends and as usual had a fantastic meal. Great service, great food and great value for money. My waiter Sebastian she was very attentive and gave us a stunning service.

Just wanted a quick drink, have been told if 30 minutes were enough, I said yes and sat there for 15 minutes without even being given the menu so there was no point staying and I left. Just ridiculous.

Don't get taken in by all the good reviews.Service was poor, staff were busy but did not pay attention to any requests.Food was not great, had the Chicken burger with crispy skin, hard to find the chicken. Was also ripped off being charged an extra £3 for bacon and £1 for cheese.Will not be going again.

I booked the wrong date but they were so lovely and sorted it all out for us! The food and drinks were lovely and we would deinfitly go again! Portions are a little on the smaller side so we were advised to get more than one dish per person.

We went to Whyte and Brown as a group of 8 for a birthday and sat in one of the courtyard tables and the restaurant was fantastic. Food was delicious, cocktails were yummy and the staff were really attentive. They even brought my husband a free brownie with candle for his birthday because I had mentioned that on my reservation note when booking! Was so impressed and we ended up staying until last orders. The courtyard was buzzy and beautiful after dark with the festoon lights. Thank you Whyte and Brown!

The drinks were okay but the service was slow, waitress was uninterested and didn't care at all. Place wasn't quiet but definitely manageable, apparently not. Waited for drinks for 20 minutes, food arrived long before the drinks. Atmosphere was nice but wouldn't recommend.

Turned up for a drink, after 10 minutes someone finally appeared to take our drink order but told us we couldn't order a beer as they were only available to diners. The waiter then disappeared for ages to check if we were allowed a beer. We weren't, we left, we won't be be coming back.

Lovely little spot in the heart of Carnaby. Delicious cocktails (you can also take advantage of the happy hour). I have to add that staff are super nice and Marco was a great host. Definitely coming back soon.

Delish food ! Was heading past with some friends, stopped for a couple cocktails and pints. Was sitting next to the bar, they were working like a well oiled machine! Great service from Marco and a really nice stop off!

Went to this restaurant and the lady at the door was quite rude and blunt so not off to a great start.I ordered a burger (£12) and this does not include chips which you have to order separately.I asked if i could not have the bun because of dietary reasons and assumed as most restaurants do that you would be given extra salad on the side or something. But not here.Out arrived this pathetic burger in the middle of a huge plate with one piece of lettuce, one piece of tomato and a couple of raw onions! I was so embarrassed it looked like something a child had put together and they still wanted £12 for that! Oh and it was a veggie burger which to be honest was so bland but my partner and I had been walking for hours and had no energy for a fuss but I would honestly avoid unless you want to be ripped off!

Nice venue, the chicken burger was nice & light. Although I do prefer a bun with more texture, bun was soft. Staff friendly. Great music & OK cocktails. I would go back there again.

Terrible customer service. The female concierge claimed to have ‘no tables’ available when we approached her however upon closer inspection there were a number free. My partner and I decided to sit and wait and tried to order a drink only for the ill-mannered lady to come back over and remove us from what was a free, vacant, sanitised table. A number of lousy excuses were given to me however I was simply not impressed. Give it a miss reviewers. Arrogant scruffy staff who clearly do not want business whilst in a pandemic.

Was really looking forward to having a meal here as the menu looked very promising. Unfortunately it was one of the most underwhelming eating experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered the roast chicken breast with celeriac and it was bland, very oily and the meat was overcooked and chewy. Had the pitta bread with humous for starter - the bread was dry as if it had been sitting around. Only plus points for me was the attentive service and drinks selections. Won't be visiting again.

We have dinner in this amazing Court in Central London, the food was amazing! The first question when we sit down as if we have any allergy, love it when Peter found I have an allergy to nuts he help me with everything and spend some time with us. Thank you, Peter. I don’t usually write reviews online but I was genuinely appalled by my experience at Whyte & Brown, especially since I was looking forward to dining here given all the good reviews previously. My booking was supposed to be from 12:15-13:45, but after taking ages to ask us for our order, the food was still nowhere to be seen even an hour after we had arrived. Eventually I asked one of the staff for an update on the food since we had been waiting for so long, but they never got back to us and we ended up leaving, with only around 20 mins before our reservation ended... The customer service was appalling and I’ve never had to walk out of a restaurant for such poor service before - literally a waste of mine and my friends time and I would NOT recommend booking this restaurant.

Extremely average. Limited menu and then had run out of things. Over priced for chicken burgers. Waiters forgot dishes and looked surprised when one our friends pointed it out that he was waiting for his meal.

Was told we needed to rush even though we booked the table, then waited over an hour after our starters (until the time we were told we had to be gone by) mains order had forgotten to be put through. Waited for desserts, only 1 came. Dissapointed with the quality so cancelled the other desserts. Overall a very disappointing visit. Bad quality service. Everyone in the party agreed they would not return and if asked I would probably actively advise others not to.

I've been going here for years and it's still not a bad choice for a meal. On my last visit the food was still tasty, but the bun was clearly quite old and a bit stale and crumbled apart as we ate. The staff also weren't very friendly and seemed impatient, so we weren't made to feel very welcome. Hopefully this was just a blip in an otherwise usually great service though.

I have attended this place today. The staff have been very aggressive once we receive the bill, and she threw it to us. The site is okay, and the food is far from excellent. It has been a complete disappointment facing the place's service. According to our check, Diellza has been our waitress. We have had to ask directly to take our order even when the hostess has seen us to ask for support. Simply not a good service. My first and LAST time in this place.

Uncooked bloody chicken- resulting in food poisoningProbably the worst dining experience of my entire life, which resulted in my trip to London being ruined, due to me later falling ill. Firstly, I ordered the crispy chicken wings and after eating the first, I noticed blood around the bone. I'm not faint hearted so tried another- the second erupted with blood when I bit it, so much so it dripped on my plate. I immediately called the waitress / manager over and squeezed it in front of her and the blood came gushing out of it- I was like I'd hit a live artery. She was horrified and grabbed the plate to get it away from me and from the sight of other customers nearby. She offered me more as she walked away- which I refused. (I really wish I had the opportunity to take a picture). By now my wife and I have lost our appetites but we eat the fries and humous tapas plates we also ordered, trying not to let it ruin the meal. However, (and this is where their incompetence becomes insulting), the waitress then returned and said to me that, having spoken to the chef, it wasn't blood, it was actually red wine inside the deep fried chicken, which was perfectly cooked, and it was a freak accident and that a large bubble of the red wine remained inside it when it was cooked. Red Wine.... A bubble of red wine inside a deep fried chicken wing. I think being lied to like that was the worst thing they could have done. I explained that this was a lie, and that wouldn't happen, (firstly how and why would you inject a chicken wing with red wine (I'm pretty sure that isn't even an ingredient in fried chicken!!! And if it was, how could you deep fry it and the wine remains inside the flesh?), she apologised, it was blatantly obvious inside, she knew it was a lie too. THEN - whilst we are eating the remainder of the food, the other waitress, who is completely oblivious to what is going on leans over and with her hands hovering over the plates we are eating from, says have you finished?- Whilst we are still chewing... whilst we have food on our plates!- it was surreal. She then returned and did the same thing, practically taking food off of our table- then had the audacity to ask if everything was ok with our meal!!!!! I explained that it wasn't -unless you are ok with blood soaked chicken, being lied to and told that it was red wine, and then having your plates taken before you had finished eating... Everyone was completely aware at how outraged I was, yet when the bill came, their way of compensating me for this dreadful experience was to just take the service charge off of the total. Thanks. Nice... We are sorry for this, so just don't tip us. I left feeling furious. So, at around 5pm I felt incredibly nauseous and around 7pm was repeatedly sick. I struggled with everything else we booked for the weekend, cancelled our evening dinner, and still felt rough the following day. I don't write reviews, I rarely complain about a meal in a restaurant- but this place, (and remember that it is supposed to specialise in chicken)- is messing up on such a gargantuan level, that I consider it a health risk and they need to reassess their whole system. Whyte and Brown didn't just ruin a meal for me, they ruined an entire weekend.

Great service their mocktails were amazing! My friends loved their cocktails(daiquiris) And we got the sweet potato fries with feta and truffle mayo fries all top notch can't wait to go back. Great accomodating staff.

Tried to do this privately. Emailed the restaurant twice. Hate having to moan on T.A, especially in the current climate but it’s frankly dangerous. Me and my partner booked a table at Whyte & Brown for two reasons only - great location and an amazing array of Gluten Free options on the menu that hangs in the courtyard. Upon arriving on the first weekend out of lockdown we order away. Excited for the first meal out. The waitress tells us that the GF sign on most food items is not applicable. We are told that all food including chips shares the same fryer as the breadcrumbed chicken and therefore nothing is actually vegan or gluten free as everything shares a fryer which means cross contamination. We are told the menu is in the process of being changed but that admittedly it’s been a long time since that was said and if they haven’t changed it during lockdown it won’t be done now. We then ask what can we have gluten free. And we are told grilled chicken breast is the only option with some salad. Now don’t get me wrong as someone with a gluten intolerance I am used to rubbish menu options but this was a place that not only had several GFs on the menu but that also proudly boasts on the menu ‘all dishes can be catered to a food allergy’ but we had no options. Nada. 12 pound we paid for some chicken on rocket. If you’re gluten intolerant save yourself the agro and head to Nando’s. It’s basically the same. Would have appreciated a response to my email too. But clearly W&B couldn’t care less that they are misleading people with an allergy. Thank goodness we checked with the server that it was all GF.

Whyte & Brown Kingley Court off Carnaby Street was a good find whist shopping. Tired, thirsty and hungry, we had to queue for a short while for a table (not particularly well managed but it was a Saturday and very busy) and soon were seated. Menus are by QR on the table, and service was pretty good considering. Food was really good. Fried chicken as an extra on a delicious Caesar salad, very big portion, with a side of skinny fries, and OH had sweet potato fries (huge portion) and butterfly chicken served with a leaf, caper and amazing pink sweet pickled onions. But high praise indeed goes to my Cosmopolitan cocktail. Best one I’ve had in a long time. Tasted really fresh and fruity. Considering covid restrictions the restaurant did well with a lot of tables outside, facing them in different directions although close together. Recommend.

Fantastic atmosphere and friendly service

Squeezed us in for an outdoor booking on bank holiday Monday, which worked great especially under Kingly Court’s big and warm inner shelter. Food was universally enjoyed by our table of 4, including a veggie. I had the crispy chicken goujons and flatbread and both were super tasty. Some of our sides were a little cold (hence the 4 stars), but pleased to have been able to book outdoor dinner and try somewhere new.

Went out for dinner with my friend. Restaurant looking good and very friendly staff. We started by ordering drinks which were very good. I’ve ordered a Caesar salad with grilled halloumi and my friend a grilled chicken burger with fries. My salad wasn’t looking and tasting very appetising and the croutons were very hard. My friends burger wasn’t well grilled so she drew the waitress attention. She explained that the meat looks like this as it wasn’t a chicken breast. Also her bun wasn’t crispy. She said that the burger was the same quality as McDonalds. Overall this place has a very nice sitting area and it’s good to come over for drinks however the quality of the food is not adequate to its price.

Okay first of all the service was SLOW AS HELL It took 20 minutes for a server to come over and get our drink order. Second of all I got food poisoning from this place from the chicken sandwich because it was undercooked. LITERALLY YOUR ONLY SPECIALTY IS CHICKEN. HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO MESS THAT UP.

Firstly, I ordered a starter from the menu which was advertised as ‘Sweet Potato and Mozzarella Croquettes’ and when the item came, it was not at all as depicted. The item was Nacho Cheese and Chickpeas (which I personally do NOT like and would NOT have ordered) balled together. Not an ounce of either Sweet Potato or Mozzarella. Item was, truthfully, quite awful to taste. When I complained to the waitress, she informed me that it was a ‘like’ a Chickpea Falafel ... to which I complained and said but that is neither what I ordered OR what was advertised on the menu. She was rather arrogant and sarcastically said that she’ll inform the kitchen so that they can take on board my ‘opinions’. There’s opinion and then there’s cold hard fact of advertising and serving two DIFFERENT items. What if I had an allergy to Chickpeas? Secondly, I ordered Sweet Potato fries as my side order and was given the wrong item. But by the time a staff member could be found to change the error, my other food was going cold so I ended up just eating them. Though given that a Chickpea constitutes as a Sweet Potato at this restaurant, probably for the best. Thirdly, two other members of my party ordered drinks and had to ask three times for them to be brought over. This was over a 15 minute period which, given that the restaurant wasn’t busy, was poor.

Lovely dinner with friends and food very tasty. Only downside was we were reminded of the time limit on the table a number of times.

Wandered into courtyard on tuesday lunchtime to find a place to eat lunch with two teenagers, a vegetarian and meat eater! This is the place. Service fabulous having to deal with our many requests ‘ can you put the relish and slaw on the side of the burger? Can you add chicken to the ceasar salad? ‘ All dealt with by waitress with a smile - really great location and food standard great - chef should be congratulated. Will defo return again go find it in this cute courtyard.

Además, el souvlaki de pollo estaba fuera del menú, lo cual solo nos dijeron después de haber pasado años deliberando y eligiendo. ¡Dile a la gente cuando les traigas un menú! ! ! ! En el lado positivo, el lugar es animado, pero es un ejemplo clásico de un lugar que aprovecha su ubicación para servir comida mediocre.
