10years ago, high street ken wholefoods used to be my favourite place to get a snack and chill for a bit. the korean rice crackers came in big boxes and there was dried mango neither of which were that expensive. upstairs there was a few sofas that had a nice view and a large food/ dining area along with a good coffeeshop... now to the present day... diabolical. 1. no upstairs section. (looks like it is permanently closed). 2. the whole place seemed so grubby. 3. lack of choice. i went more than an hour before they close, there were no sandwiches, hardly any options at the hot food counter, i couldn't even buy a single cookie / brownie as they only came in boxes of many. 4. astronomical prices. small plastic box of cut pineapple with a few blueberries- £12. maybe 6 big prawns- £10. 5. rude staff. gossiping loudly to each other. 6. food quality has gone downhill. as there was no sandwiches, i got a toasted ciabatta with chicken and peppers. issue was that it was wrapped so i couldnt see it before i bought it. anyway, i unwrapped it and the bread was soggy, lack of filling, lacked flavour. was just awful. i think this is the first time when i have been seriously annoyed with a place. from somewhere that used to be so good to be utterly crap now is annoying and leaves a lack of quick food places in the area. wholefoods hs ken managment should be embarrassed.

Interesting and very diverse options for shopping food, also some prepared meals for taking away or for an very informal eating in place.

I went to the fishmonger for some fresh fish and it was the most unhelpful customer service I've ever met. I asked what they recommended out of the marinated cod and the response was "it's down to what you want", to which I replied "I like a strong flavour profile and was met with the same response. When I then chose the cod fillet, he then marked it as something else which was double the price and when challenged, he didn't check the price but instantly knew he was wrong and changed it. From the interaction before, I'm expecting that it wad either deliberate or he didn't care. The only saving grace is that the fish was good.

I quite like the hot food available and it is very scrumptious! However, I would prefer if the food was a set price rather than done by weight! It is also quite expensive but it is high quality - you get what you pay for.

Food choices were very good. All the food we had was fresh and tasted superb. The cots are reasonable considering the location. Would definitely recommend and will look to return.

I goto this WholeFoods semi frequently as I enjoy their cakes and buns. On occasion I’ll also buy my dinner there. It’s a reasonable store but obviously for those who want to spend more than the likes of M&S or Sainsbury’s as it can be expensive. My concern would be that it’s not as decent as that offered in the US, as there is a lack of certain things, for example, the carbonated drink choice is quite limited as is the boxed foods and freezers. For example, in Chicago I was able to actually do a full shop in their Wholefoods. There was many choices of cereals, pizzas, laundry detergent etc. This seem to be the case here. I have had quite mixed experiences with staff. Most checkout are polite and cordial, however, I have noticed every time I am over at the boxed foods that staff (who appear to be chefs) come over and re-adjust the menu. To me this is odd, I did not experience this in any US based WholeFoods, so not sure why they would be coming over to move food around frequently other than to entice me to leave?

This place used to be my favorite go to. I used to have shopping groceries there. It has been through a renovation of sorts turning into a depressing place with limited variety. Nothing premium to it any longer so prices not justified anymore. Who on earth runs this place so poorly?

Bought a chicken sandwich a wrap and Brussel sprouts salad thing. The salad was ok. The sandwich was the worst I have ever had the bread was so stale it fell apart. The wrap was very dry. Honestly the worst meal I have ever had. Did I complain, no, the few staff that were serving the tills were indignant that they even has to sell me anything and I didn't keep the receipt and I bet that would have come up. The eat buy date was on the day of purchase, Sun and I guess it was made on Friday but I wonder why I am trying to make excuses for them

I had a bought a wine as it said it was 10%. When I go at the till to pay it had no discount. I asked the assistant at the till to go and double check and he told me that it used to be 10% but it had returned to normal price. So he asked me to pay the normal price although i had bought the wine on the basis it was 10% off. He didnt offer to give me the 10% off price as it was not my mistake. He could have corrected the price after. I was fuming as I thought that was a horrible customer experience. I LEFT THE PLACE FUMING

Great selection, yummy food and friendly, helpful staff. Had their meal deal with salmon and veg and it was delicious.

First time came to this supermarket. Love the hot food and salad bars where you can pick whatever you want and there were many choices. Would have been better if there was a scale for people to have an idea how much they have got before paying. Got the meatballs and sweet chilli chicken and salad veg etc. The food was good.

Just left the store unimportant with the lack of customer service. Please train your staff members especially on the hot food / pizza section.

As a regular since it opened we can confirm that there are many issues that are very disappointing. First of all an unacceptable behaviour with bossy attitude of an unmannered young man who is acting as a James Bond security guard. He seems delight in messing around and bothering shoppers with nonsense rude affirmation, making the shopping uneasy and uncomfortable. He has always something to say clearly overacting in is position which it seems like one of a trouble maker than a member of staff. As many other customers said already this is not a place to have a pleasure to come back, for sure.

The grab and go food selection on the street level is incredible. The food is fresh and great value. Many gourmet meal selections rather than sandwiches offered by competitors. Hot selections are good and make a fast decent meal. Good selection of salads and veggies. The only criticism is that the cake slices were a little dry.

I have been shopping at Whole Foods since the first day it opened in the UK (Kensington) and whilst there has been a steady decline in standards over the last few years that decline has now become a landslide. The lack of so many items across a number of its London Stores is really depressing to experience. This evening I visited the Piccadilly branch for 3 items: Lemons ok they did have a few on display but 2 had white mold on them (and a lot of it too) the others looked far from fresh.I mentioned it to a store assistant and whilst he was polite and did try and look for some more (there weren't any) he made no attempt to remove the mouldy fruits. Secondly and worst of all I wanted some Fiji Water not only did they have none of the 3 sizes they had no alternatives other than 1 very expensive product in a glass bottle which was well over £2 in cost. To have so little water and on a coolish day too is totally not acceptable. Thirdly and less serious admittedly they had no Coco Ombar bars of chocolate I noticed too that they only had a few left of 3 of the 6 different flavours So I ended up leaving with an empty basket which really is not good enough. I honestly feel as a long standing customer that Whole Foods need a serious change at management level their standards are falling so low. Even Planet Organic are better now and that's saying something!

So disappointing. Crab cakes tasted off so we didn’t eat those. Chicken scallopini was tough. Mums chicken salad was made using cheap cuts. Pastries were heading towards stale. Coleslaw and potato salad all very average. If you position yourself at the top of the market and price to reflect that, the product needs to be there too. It isn’t. Won’t be coming back, sorry.

Had various dishes poor curry poor rice overpriced and awful. Its badly cooked food in a stewing pot... It's a great idea for food but you must have good food not this swill

the check out staff are horrible and they still have not installed self-check out tills.. the fresh food is absolutely disgusting and over priced (and by the way if you read the list of ingredients you will notice there is nothing healthy about them) the whole place is filled with extremely overpriced items even when it is not needed, for example NON- organic blueberries, ''big'' punnet £10

Called in on the way to the Royal Albert Hall today and had a very nice quiche and a delicious apple and pear tart washed down with a nice cuppa. I initially looked for a sandwich but settled on a quiche in the end as the sandwich and baguette choice was very poor. Consumed my choices whilst enjoying a nice sit down in the seating area. I would add that the cleaning and clearing of tables has vastly improved since my last visit. Look forward to next visit in July.

Planned a whole day out visiting Van Gogh alive and planned lunch at whole foods really disappointed that food court wasn’t open there was pizza and food hall to go food available but not what we were looking forward to

They have certainly stepped up on cleaning. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We only tend to come when we are in the area or when we want something specific that other supermarkets may not have. Their product range focusses on a more healthy range which I love including a juice bar, hot food and a bakery. They used to have a large section with different eateries (almost like a food court) but this has been closed down with the COVID-19 pandemic. Not sure if this will be permanent. They do however, have some seats near the till which is nice to sit down, if your buying a drink or food from the actual store. Just make sure to check in with one of the staff or on your NHS track and trace application. Social distancing is well managed. The actual store range has been scaled down with the pandemic as per most places. If you just want a standard loaf of bread go to a high street supermarket like TESCO as it will be cheaper! If it's something specific or healthy then come here. They cater more for an upmarket clientele. We tend to come in the evening as it is a lot quieter. Having said this, there is less available especially in terms of fresh / hot food or food to go.

Went in late on a rainy Saturday evening. Needed to get a few items and also purchased a PRESS juice that I decided to sit down and drink waiting for the rain to stop a little. Range of items in the bakery appears to have reduced. Clean. Friendly staff and social distancing well managed. However, I was shocked to see how dirty the eating area was! They have closed off (not sure if this will be a permanent move) the eateries and put tables near the counter where you can eat or drink items purchased. The social distancing is fine and they take your contact details but the actual tables and floors were not clean and no sanitising in between! I like what they offer (Planet Organic has a slightly better range) and do visit regularly but not sure I would sit in to eat!

Aparte de la tienda con su variedad inusual, hay una buena selección de alimentos para comer o para llevar. El restaurante que queríamos visitar estaba demasiado ocupado, así que comimos aquí y trabajamos bien. El único inconveniente fue que las fajitas no estaban tan calientes, por lo que tuvieron que ser cocinadas en el microondas.

Amazing selection of food. Helpful staff. Great variety of products of all kinds eg vegan, gluten free etc. Good space to sit and they even have paper and colouring crayons for children to be entertained.

This review is for the the dept not just food. I thought this was about food & groceries but was absolutely delighted that i can buy toiletries too. They have fantastic selections of organic and/or natural without synthetics toiletries such as shower gel, soap,handwash, shampoo, conditioner etc. The price is the same as if buying via internet from individual company/brand. This branch at High Street Kensington is much bigger than the one in central London. It's definately going to be my one-stop shopping for toiletries.I also bought matcha powder too. Prices good which reflect different grading. I haven't bought any groceries. I have also tried eateries upstairs. They were ok for quick lunch while still shopping downstairs.

This review is for the restaurant only. Not sure what has happened here but something has changed and not for the better very disappointing meal on Thursday lunchtime, and considering the price it should’ve been a lot better.

First encounter with the gigantic hanger size of foodiness made me quite peckish at around 5pm Saturday. Chose four items fro the ground floor hot food self service - interesting pricing ~ £3.50 per 100grams - .three chicken dishes and a dollop of veggie risotto. Each of the chickens must have been out on display for too long - so dry that it wan't at all possible to cut with the wooden cutlery supplied. The risotto was by far the best of my dishes however at the equivalent of over £30 per kilo I reckon that's a bit steep for rice with a few bits of veg chucked in.

Whole Food Market is a great place to shop and eat, but I am writing this review specifically for the Whole Food's food court. It is a nice place with a variety of options. Mexican, American, Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese food are your choices in the food court. I believe that food prices are affordable - Neither Cheap nor Expensive. Usually order noodles which is honestly delicious.

Beh, parlare di economico a Londra è un po' eccessivo: diciamo che, senza spendere una fortuna, in questa catena si riesce a mangiare discretamente spendendo moooolto meno che in qualsiasi ristorante della capitale inglese. Si tratta di self service con una grande varietà disponibile, in grado di soddisfare qualsiasi gusto o tendenza alimentare: ti scegli quello che vuoi e paghi a peso, indipendentemente da quale sia la pietanza che prelevi. Ce ne sono tre in città: personalmente consiglio quello di Kesington, dove ci sono grandi spazi dove poter consumare il cibo.

This was the only grocery near my rental in Kensington - and it was fabulous! Besides the wonderful grocery choices one finds at any Whole Foods, the floor above had a lovely assortment of restauránts! We had a great lunch then picked up items for next day’s breakfast.

Always stop here as food is unusual and massive variety. Always buy Beignets for my family as they love these. Range of bread outstanding. Great variety of lunch/salad dishes

Two floors or more of raw, prepared and cooked foods from around the world. It all looked most inviting. Mostly on a help yourself/serve yourself basis, with payment at the numerous tills at the exit, a la supermarket.

Whenever I walk through the door of Wholefoods, I feel like I've come home :) There is a a warm, homely feel to the place, plus I know they stock all my fav choc, food & beer.

A great place to shop - albeit quite pricey. I popped in here today for a few things and was lucky to have lots of free samples to try - cookies, pizza, cheese, sweets, porridge and syrup, panettone, bread and chocolate.

This place is definitely worth a visit - the staff are always friendly, there is a great variety of foods, you can literally spend over an hour wandering around all the sections that they have. My favourites are the cheese and the bakery sections although the wine is pretty good.

While spending nearly a week in London, this magical market was a delight. It is a beautiful welcoming space quite different from the feel of the Whole Foods Markets we were accustomed to in The US. The lower level has fresh produce, the middle level has all sorts of wonderful freshly baked goods and prepared foods, and the upper level is a large open elegant food court surrounded by cool restaurant stalls. We would get freshly baked goods, fruit, and Kefir below and then enjoy breakfast in the upstairs space with delicious coffee each day.

Everything you need and more from grocery store. The food court is outstanding. Fresh produce, wonderful cheese shop and good customer service.

The shop is over 2 floors and has an amazing array of different food and drink items, as well as toiletries etc. Not everything is expensive. Lots of free tasting around the shop. 2nd floor full of cafes and places to eat.

Viajo a todos estos WFM con sede en el Reino Unido o los EE. UU. Y lo que aprendí sobre todos ellos: son muy caros donde sea que viaje y tienen elementos muy bien mostrados como si fueran su 'amigo' y quieren invitarlo a comprarlos.

Vastissima scelta di prodotti per ogni esigenza alimentare, dal biologico al vegano al gluten-free. Ottima qualità dei prodotti in offerta ma a prezzi ovviamente più elevati rispetto ad altri supermercati della capitale. Il reparto dei vini propone ottime etichette italiane, francesi e tedesche e una buona selezione di vini provenienti dal resto del mondo. Il reparto gastronomia e panificati è una delizia per gli occhi ed il palato.

Popped into whole foods for the hot buffet as it is usually full of interesting dishes. We picked a few things out and it was all cold or lukewarm at best. At £8.64 for 400g you expect better. Will give it a miss next time

This is definitely the best place to grab a quick bite for lunch - especially if you're meeting friends as you can all have something different. I had the huge stir fry bowl and the next day a burrito. Both times the portions were huge and you got loads of variety included in the set meal (sauces, two veg and meat too). Packed with flavour and came in under a tenner with a drink too!

Le quartier de Kensington, animé, élégant, propose de nombreux lieux pour se restaurer. Pour une pause-repas, le food court à l'étage du magasin pourra satisfaire les familles, les groupes ou même les couples peu exigeants en matière d'intimité. Comme tous les food courts, le lieu résonne et manque un peu de charme mais au fond une belle galerie permet d'entrevoir les briques des établissements environnants. La nourriture est bonne mais il y a peu de choix. Un traiteur asiatique, un stand de pizzas et enfin un stand mexicain proposant des tacos et des burritos. On se demande pourquoi le guacamole est un aliment additionnel à 1 livre alors qu'il fait partie de la recette, mystère... En somme, si vous hésitez, pensez que ce food court est un bon moyen de manger pour une somme raisonnable dans un quartier d'exception mais vous n'y trouverez rien de particulièrement anglais... Pourquoi ne pas proposer quelques pâtisseries de qualité ?

Han pasado un par de años desde la última vez que comí en el patio de comidas aquí. No estoy seguro de lo que ha pasado. El servicio en el restaurante ahora es realmente deficiente, servicio lento en el mostrador, aunque no estoy seguro de por qué habría dos personas sirviendo en el mostrador de pizza cuando no había clientes esperando, pero cuatro de nosotros esperando en la sección asiática.

Tienda de ultramarinos de gama alta con muchas opciones de comida y bebidas. Un poco para comprar cervezas por separado, pero hay muchas opciones para la cerveza y el vino. Todo lo que necesita para una tienda de ultramarinos de alta gama y llevar para pasteles y comidas rápidas.

Siempre tuve problemas para comer más o menos saludable en Londres, cuando viajaba allí por trabajo. Mi mercado de comida favorito. Sopas, ensaladas, platos calientes. Sano y fresco. Ahora siempre elige permanecer cerca de esta tienda. Si no planeas visitar restaurantes, esta es una forma sencilla y económica de comer (después de las 21:00 no hay un gran surtido para el buffet)

Went to the Japanese outlet in the food court only because all the other food offers looked terrible. This one was just as bad. Waitress took our order then returned to say we could not have anything grilled. She must have known that. The salmon donburi 5 ways was really only 2 ways. The rest of the food was very poor. It is not cheap either. Even Yo Sushi who I do not rate are better. No pride in what they do. My advice is don't go there or any of the other food offers in the same food court.

I've probably eaten 100s of pizzas in my life, ranging from trash pizza to wood-fired oven pizza in Naples, and the pizza at the Whole Foods Market on Kensington High Street was the worst I have ever tasted. Some parts of the crust were mushy while the other non-mushy sections tasted like cardboard. I ate one small piece of my slice and then threw the remainder in the trash (where it belonged).

Called in to buy food for a picnic in the nearby park. The cakes and breads were delicious. Made a mistake buying a prepared and pre-packed caesar salad though as the lettuce was limp and brown and the croutons were soggy. Lesson learnt- buy fresh not pre-packed

Amazing selection of fresh salads, juice and fruit, especially jackfruit which is very rare in the UK. Plenty of different healthy/vegan options and customisable hot meals. Customer service is OK and prices are London-level but it's still always great to visit.

I bought crab claws yesterday and when I opened them at home, they stunk badly of ammonia. I called customer service who said I have to bring the receipt to the store to get a refund. It takes over an hour for a return journey for me. I asked if I could email a photo of the receipt and get a bank transfer instead but they said no. It is very poor customer treatment to have the customer be so inconvenienced for a refund. I don't see why they can't accept a photo of the receipt and refund by bank transfer. After all, I would have been poisoned if I had eaten the very off crab claws.

If you are a foodnerd and love all things organic like me you will adore this place. I could walk around for hours and I always get sad that I don’t live in London anymore when I come here. SO worth the visit.

The WFM offers quality products which are not cheap but then quality is never cheap. The meat selection, ready-to-go food, and pretty much everything else, can be picked up without worrying about the quality. Some products are only from the high-end brands and it would be good to have more affordable brands as well.

Kensington is by far the largest Whole Foods Market in London. Great food all around and all healthy. I was totally fascinated by the huge selection of cheeses.
