We visited for lunch, we both had paninis which were ok. We ordered a cappuccino with soya milk, unfortunately they didn’t have any oat milk. It was weak and tasteless. We had 2 different home made tray bakes, they looked very appetising but unfortunately both were tasteless.

What a lovely hidden Gem. We ordered homemade veg soup I can honestly say it was like my Nana used to make. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Will definitely call again. Thank you for a fabulous lunch.

Absolutely Disgusting ordered 2 soup & sandwiches waited 25 minutes, decided to ask how long it would be bearing in mind there were two other people in cafe ! The member of staff that took our order had decided to have her break but never told anyone that we had ordered ! Therefore we had been totally forgotten about , demanding my money back we left ! Told the manager on the way out what had happened and he wasn’t in the slightest bit bothered # ANNOYED

Came here for coffee and cake. Coffee OK, not a great cake selection (though we were a little late maybe). Garden Centre on the other hand is well-stocked.

Popped into coffee shop for a coffee and decided to have afternoon tea it was so nice and at only £13.99 for two a bargain . Cakes looked to be home cooked and the sandwiches were lovely and fresh we sat in a small conservatory for ours which was nice. Not fancy but a nice place to sit in on a sunny day Avril in the shop was very helpful as we were looking for a grate for the fire. Will definitely be calling in again.

Myself and my sister meet for lunch once a month at this lovely little cafe. The food is always good , homemade and plenty of it. Spotlessley clean, nice outside tables and play area for kids. The garden centre has a very wide range of plants, garden furniture, etc and the gift shop has a great range of items. It’s a real “hidden gem” ....

Visited this place for some garden plants, called in to Lemon Tree cafe which is inside the garden centre for some lunch, spotlessly clean, very friendly staff, lovely array of food and Good prices. It is family friendly and wheelchair accessible although we have neither. Considering we live an hour and a half drive away from this place it shows we like this family run business. Not only is the cafe superb, the garden plants are a good price and very healthy, keep doing what you are doing it works we would definitley recommend

On the way to Stranraer for our holidays we stopped for lunch at the garden centre as having been before we knew how good it is, the food is very tasty and the staff always pleasant and obliging. The shop is also good ,a range of small gifts and reasonable prices. We repeated the visit on the return journey.

My wife and I have visited the whitesyke garden centre on many occasions over recent years. last week we made another visit it and recalled how much this business has grown. I guess like us, more and people have found what makes a good garden centre and tea room. The tea room offers a wide range of lunches including, baked potatoes, toasted sandwiches, hot soup, hot rolls and panini, and there is also a special afternoon tea. All served in a lovely environment. We have seen tremendous expansion to the garden centre, with a wide range of plants, pots, garden furniture, huts and compost. There are even toys and swings for the kids. We believe Whiteskes success is down to the attention paid by staff to its customers. It has all the attributes of a family run business and a credit to Pam and Lawrence; nothing is a trouble to them. Lawrence is always on hand to load up your car for you if there are any heavy items. Few offer this kind of service. This attention to customer detail is shared by all staff. On the day of our visit it was bright, warm and sunny. On entering my wife said to one of the staff, "I'm sure you would like like to be outside on a day like this"? "I would she replied, but seeing peoples smiling faces when they come in more than makes up for it". That says it all about the Whiteskes garden centre and tea room.

Afternoon tea 2 for £13.99 excellent value and good quality we will be back, the scones were fresh which is far better than a recent visit to a more costly hotel in Wetheral. Quick and friendly service and a clean attractive environment It was my first visit but it will not be the last.

I just ticked a little option on tripadvisor to indicate that "this is one of the best meals you've ever had in a restaurant." And I must admit that ticking it felt a little odd, given that it's a garden centre cafe. I guess it depends what criteria you're using to judge. The food in The Lemon Tree was good, fresh and reasonably priced, but what stood out was the quality of service. If some of us needed a little longer to answer questions or found it difficult to sit quietly, the staff could not have been kinder or more patient. In terms of the friendly, genuine welcome we were shown this really was one of the best meals I've ever had and I would recommend it to anyone. It's great to know that places like this exist and I left feeling they had really made us happy..

With a friend who is gluten intolerant, finding somewhere really lovely to eat is difficult. The Lemon Tree Café fulfils these needs superbly. Light lunches - toasted sandwiches, Panini, baked potatoes, and beautiful cakes very quickly served and at a reasonable price, it is somewhere we shall happily recommend and visit again. The Garden centre has just about everything any gardener could possibly want, and is very well laid out too.

It's a nice little restaurant and staff were lovely. Started out great with haggis bon bons which were delicious however there were several things not on the menu (early on the Saturday evening) and the other things we did have were bland, greasy and really disappointing.
