This cafe is in a pretty setting and has a welcoming atmosphere. It is next to a plant nursery and there are a few other small businesses on the site. There are a range of very good cakes and pastries, bread, scones and a brunch menu. The cafe is very pricey but was also very busy so must be doing something right. It has a lovely garden area. Dogs welcome.

Lovely little cafe set in nice grounds and serving great coffee (braziers coffee). Worth noting that inside space is fairly limited. They have outside seating under cover and also plenty more outdoor seating around their garden.

I can’t recommend this place enough!!! We visited today at 11 (definitely should book to secure a table) and chose to seat outside under a roof as the sun was out. Although it was a little chilly they offer blankets and hot water bottles to help out. We ordered a regular and a veggie breakfast. They were understanding with my changes to the veggie/vegan plate so very accommodating for dietary needs! The prices I believe to be very reasonable for the portion sizes, we both were left very full. Genuinely the best veggie breakfast I have had ever!! The staff are extremely friendly, I could hear each staff communicating about tables ensuring everyone is well looked after. Each member knows what they are doing, especially with the coffee drinks! I ordered two mochas because I couldn’t just have one! Outside is a great atmosphere in the Spring/Summer when we visited and they welcome dogs outside and inside. We will be returning very soon :)

We had very high expectations for White Post Cafe due to social media. I was told online I didn’t have to book a table (through their link on instagram) so we turned up with our 2 year old and were told they had no tables inside so we had to sit outside, no heaters, in February and it was freezing cold. We originally wanted a coffee and bakery item but they had 3 things left although they were still open for another 3+ hours. We ordered off the specials board and the kids menu. The food took a while and when it did arrive the burger had Stilton cheese in it (not specified on the board). My husband had one bite and didn’t eat anymore. I also went to try some but it was so overpowered but the smell of Stilton I couldn’t eat it. It was all VERY overpriced (burger being £14.50 with a very small side salad) and kids breakfast had so much pepper on the scrambled eggs which couldn’t be eaten by my 2 year old, this also cost £8.50. When we went inside to pay, there was a member of staff sat by herself at a table of 6 eating their lunch although we were told no tables were available inside (we would of happily waited for a table to become free inside). The girl at the counter also didn’t have our correct change in the till so we left even more out of pocket then we should of been. We never usually complain but we really had high hopes. We will not be returning.

For some time friends have been telling us about the White Post Cafe at Langford Budville, unfortunately we have always been on a ‘mission’ so driven past. Yesterday we challenged this omission as it was midway on our journey, so we dropped in for lunch. The entrance is an interesting approach into the unknown, some way up the drive one is encouraged to keep going and one’s almost there. With such charming encouragements we arrived to find only one spare parking place; very popular! With the friendliest of greetings we were shown our table inside the cafe until a group of animated young ladies entered so we moved to the covered outside area at the suggestion of the waitress. A short wait for our Korean bbq burger with a splendid salad, the dressing light and tasty, and also smoked trout on toasted sourdough spread with a wonderful caper mayonnaise. We nearly always share our dishes to tempt the palate with different flavours and we did with this meal. I could have done with a steak knife to cut the very tasty toast but that is a minor niggle. The menu is mainly light brunch type dishes which all appeared interesting and encourages us to return to try more. Adjacent to the cafe is a farm shop with exceptionally good looking produce. The whole set-up made me think of a beach-side taverner in Greece; our next holiday perhaps!

Charming and quirky little spot tucked away on the end of the village. The cafe is very relaxed, nice seating area outside, dog friendly, nice place with outdoor area to sit and relax. Good friendly staff, nice food (smoked trout bagel a treat), great salads, good coffee - what’s more to like?

What a lovely place to eat in Somerset. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast and my poached eggs were simply perfect. All the family enjoyed their food and great coffee. Everyone was so friendly in this unique location. The chef was clearly outstanding serving so many yet no compromise on quality. I come to see family in Taunton every few moths and will insist we visit again. Thank you everyone at the White Post Cafe.

We had the apple cake- far better than any apple cake before...well done We also had lunch which includes a celeraic soup of three star micchelin quality. The menu is very small but why not-- when it is all so so exquisite and YUMMY! Wonderful location..great staff...very clean and stylish toilets also.... overall 5 star ..well done!

My wife and I live in Exmoor National Park that fairly local to this cafe which is not far from the Wellington Monument. We had not visited this cafe before, but based on reviews, decided to have brunch here while we were taking our Working Cocker Spaniel for a walk around the Monument area. The cafe lives up to its fine reviews and is a lovely place to have a lunch/brunch or breakfast. Freshly prepared food, imaginative menu and pleasant surroundings. Also dog-friendly! Highly recommended.

This friendly nursery has none of the hustle and bustle of a big garden centre, and its cafe is equally informal, even a bit rustic. The coffees were good, although my flat white could have been stronger. We didn't have any food, but if you want somewhere quiet and with more character than a high street coffee shop, try this place.

A bit of the beaten track and looks like a garden shed but its a little gem inside! Clearly popular with walkers, cyclists and young, trendy families - oh and dogs are welcome too. Pancakes with blueberries, bacon & maple syrup was a great brunch but really needed either more syrup to begin with as it was a bit sparse - I could barely taste it to be honest. Plenty of blueberries though which helped. But for £8.50, I would have liked more syrup. Tea & coffee were lovely (could be hotter) and the cakes looked very yummy but I was too full up to try them - hopefully next time. Staff - young, friendly and efficient. Looking forward to returning sometime soon.

Go here regularly for brekkie and coffee and the exceptional cheese scones but feeling let down today. Arrived for lunch at 1.45 - 45 minutes before the end of service. Told they couldn't do lunch because they'd been busy and still had 12 people to arrive who had booked. The kitchen had to be consulted even to get a "nibble" bowl of hummus and some pitta bread. Told in a very patronising way that they are a "little cafe" (I know - use you regularly hence my loyalty card!) and even though they didn't look busy they were and there was no lunch and that was just "the way it was!" We left at 2.40 having had drinks, shared a cheese scone and a plate of hummus. The 12 people hadn't arrived and then we were told they'd cancelled and would we like anything else! Don't think so. Feeling sore and will probably be a little while before I return. Still don't understand why they couldn't do 2 lunches - its a cafe after all and no food came out of the kitchen from us arriving at 1.45 until we left so what was the problem??. Come on you can do better than this. Not good if your regulars feel disappointed.

Very tranquil setting with good quality tea. Cake selection slightly smaller than anticipated but we visited late afternoon. Only downside was the feeling we had out stayed our welcome as we were busy chatting and enjoying the surroundings, but there was a need to make a point of taking our dishes away to be washed up. There is a small nursery there but we didn’t look around this part.

We drove a little out of our way to visit this cafe today and were so glad we made the extra effort. The sample menus and pics on the website really sold it to us as we were looking for a healthy lunch that would cater for us all. Between us we had a delicious Thai curry that came with a flatbread and a lovely little coconut salad. The Lentils with goats curd and fennel was delicious and we would definitely recommend the polenta chips. It was a bit more difficult to feed the children but they were more than happy with some humous with pitta and a tasty scone and jam. There was a great choice of cakes (we even took some home for tea) and the drinks menu had some nice additions such as warm ginger beer and home made cordial. The cafe was very well catered for children with a little table with games and toys and there was a nice outside space for a few games of hide and seek before we headed home. We will be back... to sample the breakfast next time!

Three of us went for Sunday brunch. The waitress was unsmiling, showing a lot of blue bra and wearing nail varnish. We waited 40 minutes for 2 eggs benedict and a rarebit. All were very small portions and not worth the wait. Perhaps we should have taken warning when we arrived. The café was completely empty and only 2 other tables outside were occupied. There was a mix up with the bill when we came to pay.

I visited here with my mum today as part of our holiday, I had researched it and was expecting it to be a pleasant experience however the customer service was so unfriendly that I will never go back. The lady that took our order wasn’t just slightly ‘not bothered’ but bordered on being rude. It was as if we were really putting her out. Unfortunately the cake we ordered had a hair woven into it. I would like to have mentioned this but would rather have left the cake and exited as quick as i could. On our departure we both said Thankyou in a cheery way but the lady didn’t even look up and just mumbled a thanks under her breath. Luckily we could see the funny side of it. But still found it shocking. The nursery is lovely and the owner was most helpful and I would recommend that. But definitely not the cafe. Yes it’s in a nice setting but that seems irrelevant when you feel like you shouldn’t be there!

Never been here before - so 5 of us thought we’d give it a go… Customer to bloke behind the bar “Hello my old mate, we’ve never been here before, could you please guide us and recommend from your drinks menu?” Bloke behind the bar - “I choose everything personally on the drinks menu so you need to do the same… and you don’t know me from Adam”….. What a welcome. Nice! Now I understand this bars other “not so great reviews”! Obviously the bloke behind the bar is there quite a lot. Shame as we were going to spend the evening there but after his “warm welcome” we left and spent a lovely few hours just around the corner at The Star which turned out to be a lovely pub with kind and friendly staff. I guess we all have a choice where to spend our hard earned social cash
