Are meet was very fatty and just warm I would even say cold. The fish was very watery with no taste. We got are money back

This was our second visit to the white horse, the food this time wasnt as good this time tbh. Our table was not ready for us on arrival so we had to wait in the bar. One of the waiters came to pour more wine for us and got more on the table than in the glasses. I do really like this venue and as our anniversary it was a special day for us just a tad let down this time unfortunately.

We love the white horse and look forward to visiting there ; safly this time the vegetables with the sole were tepid or even cold, the plates only just warm and the tiny crab croquettes were mainly potato, only a hint of crab . Such a. Shame as normally food is excellent

A fabulous restaurant. Seafood options were all delicious and the views were stunning, which added to the atmosphere. The little touches (a card on the table for my Mum's birthday) and outstanding service made for a memorable lunch. Highly recommend this place.

All tables have a good view and the atmosphere is great. Staff looked after us very well and were very friendly and welcoming. Food is amazing, using excellent local ingredients and well cooked and presented.

I came with my family for my sons' 18th birthdays. They gave us a lovely table by the window (the view is incredible.) There were little postcards on the table wishing them a happy birthday, and they were surprised with little birthday puddings too! The food was delicious, and we felt it was good value too. Very relaxed, a gorgeous location (we went for a 'muddy walk' beforehand,) and very special memories made for such an important occasion for us.

The Sunday lunch we had was hot and well cooked. We ate everything the meal was very tasty and produce was high quality.

Beautiful location, with fantastic views. Staff welcoming and helpful. Menu choice very heavily sea based. Sunday lunch was great, roast beef finished off to how you like it, so all beef eaters happy. Small issue with one fish dish, but staff resolved it. Nice balance of desserts. Hope to return later in the year to enjoy the balcony with the dog.

Utterly superb! Service was outstanding with such a fun waiter The food was delicious, very well cooked - the seafood grill was out of this world! You have to try it. Cannot wait until our next visit

The staff were all incredible. We were served by 4 different members of staff, all of whom took their time with us and ensured we got a personal touch. The food is incredible! It is at the high end, price wise, but it is certainly worth it. The location and ambience of the White Horse is beautiful and it perfectly epitomises the North Norfolk coast through it’s decor and food.

Had a delicious meal staff attentive and knowledgeable All staff greeted you as they came into contact with you either at the table or just walking past, took an interest in how you came to be there. We will return without a doubt.

Four of us ate yesterday at The White Horse. It's the second time we've been, the first being 12/15 years ago when holidaying here. Now my husband and I live here in Norfolk, so we thought we were all well over due a return visit. It certainly didn't disappoint. Firstly, the variety of dishes on the menu was tremendous, making choosing very hard. For our starters, we had 2 local beef carpaccio, ham hock, served on rarbit crumpet, and honey pumpkin soup served with a floating crab tartlet. All tasting as good as they looked on the plates. Then 3 had the Skrei Cod served on a shellfish chowder, and I had Gurnard fillets served on a cuttlefish rissotto, which again were so flavoursome. ( possibly the only comment was that that "soup" part of the chowder was a little too runny) that said it did not detract from the taste. Our desserts again all pleased, completing an all-around excellent meal. The staff were all " happychappies" whilst professional throughout. Our table gave the ladies the famous view over the marshes, whilst the men people watched and admired the coming and goings of the waiting team. Well done. We will be back with our next house guests , if not before!

We were “up from London “ so we totally get the market this restaurant goes for …. And understand fine dining . Even with this in mind the portions for our sea bass were ridiculously small for the price . We were so hungry we had to order sides of chips as the ONE chip - don’t get me wrong it was a very nice CHIP just wasn’t enough . Had anyone asked us “ how was your meal “ at any point we would have fed this back but nobody asked us . Ambiance was lovely, service was nice , staff pleasant food delicious but we left feeling just a little bit cheated for the price .

Lively food, superb flavours and presentation. The staff were great, attentive but not intrusive. Service was a little slow, long wait between ordering and drinks arriving and a little too long between courses, however worth the wait.

We love The White Horse. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff are lovely, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive and the food is delicious. The menu changes regularly and it’s nice to experiences places that do more than just ‘meat and two veg’. Lovely options of fish with pasta/risotto combinations. Generally, we’re less bothered about deserts but this time we indulged and were a little underwhelmed but we still had a lovely day and there were some nice touches for our anniversary. Thank you!

Had a wonderful birthday meal here , card waiting on the table .. stunning food starting with oysters , followed by mussels which were heavenly , then the roast cod .. so so good ! I didn’t have room for dessert but got a lovely happy birthday treat plate with stunning truffles , sour cherries crumble and cream ..

A lovely pub we had a table in the window in the conservatory so had an amazing view. Unfortunately I think something must have gone wrong in the kitchen as we were waiting for about 45 mins for our main course. The waitress recognised this though & didn’t charge for our drinks. We would have had desserts but this put us off. I would still go again though as these things happen.

Great experience at the white horse - handled allergies sensitively and professionally. Food was delicious, staff were helpful. We will definitely be visiting again, and I’ve already recommended to my parents who live in Norfolk.

Had a few meals here now, recently I have felt that for the price you pay the food is not up to scratch. It's a lot of money for a tiny steak and the seafood dish has prawns from frozen packets. The last two meals I've had here the food has had to be sent back due to fish being raw and both meals we have had to wait about an hour and a half for our mains. Having said that the ambience and wine is lovely and starters were good

Very poor service, slow and long waits for everything, our waitress was unhelpful and with a bit of an attitude. Went to celebrate a birthday which felt a bit flat One perhaps more senior member of staff recognised our wait and apologised and said they would remove the cost of our soft drinks from the bill. However these were still included when it came. Overall very disappointed

How to celebrate your BIG 70 birthday I thought, luckily I was staying not to far from The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe a favourite of my wife and I. The White Horse is ideal for us as my wife is gluten and lactose intolerant and she trust the chefs to understand her requirements, so where else would we go.

Beautiful location and lovely atmosphere. We arrived earlier than our booked time and were still met with polite and friendly service. Food was delicious and aesthetic and good portion size without being overbearing. Table service was impeccable and the extra special touch of a Happy Birthday card on the table and complimentary petit fours was an extra special touch. Thank you.

A lovely room with excellent views. Staff were pleasant, helpful and unobtrusive. The menu was imaginative and the avaolability of a vegan menu wad appreciated.

A regular haunt for lunch, the White Horse surpassed themselves with a very tasty meal. Both the pigeon starter and the pork loin were perfectly cooked and the accompanying vegetables etc complemented the meat.

We had a nice meal, but sadly the waiter that took our order was very grumpy and when I asked a question could barely understand the answer as what I got back was more of an inaudible mumble which seemed like serious lack of interest and didn’t wait long enough for my husband to even order a drink.. Main dishes were lovely but not very big and choice of sides was not great, but overall quality of food was very good and the place is lovely so I would come back but not in a hurry.

It's the small touches that make the difference when eating out. The white Horse have got that beautifully. A birthday meal with a card on the table and a lovely dessert with 'happy birthday ' written in chocolate on the plate all add to a memorable occasion. The mussels were very disappointing, dry and tasteless. Clearly from the deep freeze and microwaved and several of them were “closed”.

We ate in the bar because we had out dog with us (who was kindly given a treat by the waitress, thank you), but our table was unfortunately positioned so that every time the door was opened by a customer arriving or leaving we got blasted by freezing cold air. It was a particularly cold day so probably felt worse than would have otherwise. Not sure there is a solution, but it did take the edge of our otherwise enjoyable lunch.

We went specifically for the sharing platter and fresh fish and it was only when we got there that we were informed that they had a reduced menu, limited options and building work. Although the service was good the mussels we ordered did not seem fresh and there was no tuna or sharing platter, which was particularly disappointing as I took my wife and in laws there to celebrate my wife’s birthday and they were looking forward to both those dishes. Not a good experience at all

Starters and deserts outstanding taste and presentation was excellent. We both had plaice for mains. These didn’t deliver the same standard as the rest of the meal. Just felt a little lacking for £28 a main. Which was not the end of the world but not to the white horse’s usual standards

Fabulous lunch today, langoustines super and my husband’s fish and chips was amazing. Service was really lovely, every staff member we spoke to was delightful. Definitely be back.

First visit this year had Oysters which were the best taste ever. Mains we had Roast Beef dinner and Fresh Sea Bass. we also had desserts chocolate brownie and plumb frangipane. We ate every bit cleaned the plates.

We eat here a lot but the food tonight was so over cooked both my husband and I had fish he had the platter and I had the cod really disappointed.

A very good welcome was presented in a friendly manner. (10/10) The menu presented a good choice (9/10) The restaurant was busy but not full. Just about right. Noise level was excellent. (9/10) The initial service was excellent and this continued throughout the meal. Harriet and other servers were a credit to the restaurant. (10/10) We both had fish courses, (Bass & Cod) which were both very good (8/10). All in all, a very good experience and a place we will return to . (9/10)

We have eaten here before and enjoyed the meal. This time, most of the meal was ok, with both of us being disappointed with parts of the meal. We visited just after New Year, and with a short refurbishment due, most of the staff were friendly and helpful with the exception of one who was very abrupt. My cod was a disappointment as was my husbands lemon tart. They need to up their game a little.

This is an outstanding restaurant, with a well-thought-out menu, great cooking, and super-friendly and effective service. The wine list is pretty good, and not bad value, though some of the mark-ups are significantly higher than others.

We love this restaurant so will be back but yesterday it went wrong somewhere with the staff and food. Maybe that in between Christmas and new year staffing issue. Food really wasn’t great and very slow but they apologised and gave us a free drink.

We've visited many times for a drink and the bar is great as is the raised deck at the rear with amazing views of the salt marshes. Decided to treat ourselves to an evening meal this visit. Pretty average food but given the prices equates to below average as an overall offering. They need to up their game food wise if they continue to demand the prices they are. Will revert to just drinking there.

I live in New Orleans so know what good food, & seafood is all about. This is the fifth time I have visited the White Horse and it never fails to impress. The on-site smoking, locally sourced foods and preparations step the meals up to the next level
