Pretty campsite with good facilities, playground & cafe. Perfect for a short stay.

Pat very kindly helped us with the Stowmarket Striders charity trail run we were organising. It all went very smoothly.

Just had a 4 night stay at this lovely site. Not to go fishing but to visit friends near by. We had a great 4 nights its a well cared for site. Clean and fresh toilet/shower block. The owner and son are very friendly. Lovely and very popular cafe on site and a great pub just outside the sites entrance. The fishing lake is very pretty with a nice little dog walk around it. We will def go back. Thank you for a great stay. Martin Stef and Gracie 😁

Thought I'd pop in for a quick snack. It was busy but the service was swift. The food tasty and filling, the coffee was good too. In better weather it would be a good safe place to let your children run about however there is a lake so some care is needed.

Visit here regularly for breakfast, best in Suffolk, amazing staff, so clean, and decorated to perfection, always a warm friendly atmosphere

2020: This cafe is completely different to the one that used to be on the site. It is purpose built, modern and airy. There is a good amount of indoor seating and just as much outdoor seating. Some of the outdoor area has a see through roof to keep off the rain and sun. It is a perfect place to visit with children as there is a park right next to the cafe, so you can play while waiting for food. You can have a walk around the lake too. The food is good quality and if you ask for something a little different to what's on the menu they will do their best to accommodate you. There is always a varied selection of cakes, sausage rolls and drinks. The cakes are HUGE! Prices are decent.

Thoughly enjoyed our stay with our five year old granddaughter cafe splendid too.

Great scenery, very friendly staff and extremely tasty food. Only issue is actually getting a table, I would definitely recommend booking to avoid disappointment.

Lovely place. We took a picnic, but were told we could not picnic there as they had a tea room.

£10 a rod for a adult is abit much but a good lake

Went to the Lakeside for a late lunch with my wife to find the place buzy and buzzing. Even though very buzy (surely the sign of greatness), the service and food were all excellent. Thank you to Danni and everyone else.

Can't believe we've only just discovered this little gem, especially as it's just down the road from us. Went on the recommendation of a friend for breakfast and what a delight. Service was really good throughout. Quality of food is excellent and a good varied menu. Great value for money. In a delightful lakeside setting and a well designed building. Toilets were immaculately clean. Will definitely be back. P.S. the coffee and walnut cake is fantastic.

Good clean venue, with good food at a very reasonable price.

We just had an all day breakfast here, it was very good. It was freshly cooked and good size portions,and good service from the staff.

Fantastic location fantastic service fantastic food. We rang before we went regards wheelchair access and if we could bring the puppy. All positive. We had a great time food was great and April was brilliant. Would definitely recommend.

The old lakeside cafe was brilliant for cyclists who wanted to stop, have a cup of tea, and then be on their way, the whole process took less than ten minutes. The new venue is not such a good proposition. Seems to be populated by teenage waitresses who have no ideas of service. On the 1st visit we ordered, we waited, we waited some more, after 20 minutes someone came out (we were sitting outside) and asked if we would like to order (we told them we had already ordered 20 minutes ago), At this point we had had enough and left (cyclists do not want to sit about for ages as they get cold and stiffen up). Thought we would try again the following week as it may have been a glitch due to them newly opening. Went in, was told someone would be out to take our order (why we could not order 2 teas as we were standing at the counter is another issue but hey ho). 15 minutes later after no-one came out to take our order we got very pissed off and left, never to return. I should imagine it is great if you want to spend an hour having breakfast but if you just want a cuppa, forget it.

Lovely new cafe, nice Teas & Coffees and a good menu choice. All served with a friendly smile.

Excellent breakfast lovely sausages and crispy bacon perfect eggs all the salads sounded very nice too will give them a go on our next visit

Waitress came and wrote down our orders, over half an hour later the wrong stuff came out, how hard is it to make tea and with toast and sandwiches?

Lovely idea. But someone moved in up the road and complained. Discrimination against bikers & a bit of fun I feel,and we were only a small part of their custom. All done by 10 pm at the latest.

Turned up just to have a look around as never fished the lake before after doing a lap we were approached by a bloke in a jcb gator and thought he was coming to say hello, however started harrasing me about wether I am staying or not even after saying I came to look. He also took down my number plate even though I haven’t done anything wrong. Never fishing the lake as I’m guessing the owner is an absolute W⚓️

It's a shame it's closeing on September 30 the owners of the park don't it cafe style it will be missed they want it tearoom style the lady and staff who run it will be out of their jobs the owners don't want them there it ashamed they will be missed there service was first class

This is so sad, we have been going here now for a couple of years at least once a week, so now they have closed there doors for good because it seems the owner didn’t want them to have fundraisers because to many people turned up and it was to noisy, even though they had a fund raiser for cancer when they found out she had got it, the last fundraiser they had was for the RNLI in which they raised nearly £2000 so apart from the great food and the charities they supported they were “ got rid of” very nice people, I hear there building a new cafe on site run by there family, you make your mind up

We were staying in Travelodge nearby and needed to find somewhere for breakfast every day. This little cafe is a hidden gem, lovely breakfasts, good choice for vegetarians and caters for lunch and snacks as well. Nice setting, can sit outside when weather is good. Very friendly staff. Good value for money

Spent the day fishing here with my son and partner. Very peaceful relaxing environment with a nice play area for the children. Lovely little cafe only downside was toilets were not very clean. Nice place to spend a relaxing sunny day though

The lady who owns the caravan park is very pleasant( the man not so much) very good food in the cafe will definitely be going again

Had an amazing breakfast here a couple of weeks ago. We were a group of 17 and there were a few more large groups in that day too. The staff were coping beautifully with this and food was great!!

Love this little greasy spoon cafe. Bit of a trek for me but worth it for their fab breakfast and friendly staff. Also biker friendly which is a big bonus.

Came over to stay as friends were camping also nice area and stay was going well untill we met the jumped up little tw@# that drives around in his Hitler mobile hassling people constantly if there staying or not and just being the most annoying bell e$€ I've ever met .... lucky he's not floating in the lake

Nice and friendly staff. Very cheap teas and coffees to take away at only £1 food and other items on the menu do seem to be a little expensive for what they are. But overall very decent place.

This cafe is about 15 miles from me but it's well worth the trip for their lovely, proper big breakfasts. Good service, friendly staff and a nice location. During the summer there is a monthly motorbike night, with live music and about 300 or so bikers. Recommend this place.

Used this cafe alot always been a no frills cheap place to eat visited today waited 50 minutes for food, luke warm, portions smaller the same meals cost 4 pounds less two months ago, charging bistro prices for a greasy spoon cafe

I love coming here, the food is good, the staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. And they make a good mug of tea. Nice setting and plenty of car parking. Brilliant

I have been going to the lakeside cafe for over a year now and I can honestly say that they make the best breakfast I have ever had, and I have never been disappointed with it, I have had breakfast in most cafes now and this one beats them a 1000 times over, and fantastic value for money, go and eat a breakfast there, I promise you you won't be disappointed.

Ideal for a snack or light lunch, dogs allowed in cafe which I am not very keen on, nice cup of coffee its part of camp sight

We have be going to this cafe for a while now and it has always been lovely. Great to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful lake. The food just gets better, from bacon sandwiches to a full meal. Home cooked and tasty. A good mug or tea and coffee. A small area for the kids with a sunken trampoline, and a toilet block near by, nice size car park and lots of friendly locals. Staff are great too.

Small friendly cafe, good food and biker nights

We bought a camper van in September new to camping, onehouse was recommended to us, did not realise that the cafe was there, camped there five times until weather got too cold, but have continued using the cafe over the winter months, always a relaxed atmosphere, food freshly cooked, nothing any bother to staff, the campsite is a peaceful place and quite, dogs are welcome, the site is clean, shower blocks as good as can be, not limited water like many sites, looking forward to going back

Been camping a few times last summer used cafe a lot I'm a vegan hubby a vegetarian was assured my food didn't get cooked with meat have been back several times over the winter just to eat not camp lovely little hut super friendly.staff only thing I would recommend would be.lino on floor carpet bit grubby other wise lovely people, big portions highly recommend better meals then had in restaurants

Since it's rebuild last year, the Lakeside Cafe if now even better with excellent lake views as well as good value meals. Loads of off road parking and you can go fishing afterwards, what not to like!

Stumbled on this gem whilst driving past from Finborough. What a lovely location, the lake is very pretty! Good breakfast, we had a standard breakfast which was filling and tasty! With the trampoline and play equipment gave something for the kids to do whilst we chatted. We will definitely return!! The only negative, that could be easily fixed, would be the coffee, was weak and tasted cheap. A nice cup of Azera or Millicano would be preferable if filter coffee is out of the question.

Had breakfast by the Lake in the sun. Very disorganised food okay. Asked for Orange juice which came in a carton with a straw. Un- drinkable tap water which was still Un- drinkable when changed. I was also charged £1 for one slice of bacon!! When I queried this I was told that was what it said on the menu. NO it said extra bacon £1 implying a portion. Even Tescos only charge 65p

Lovely cafe, received a warm welcome on arrival and staff were very friendly. Food and drink reasonably priced with plenty of seats indoors and outdoors overlooking the lake. Lots of space to park motorbikes and cars, and I've heard they hold a motorbike meet in October which attracts hundreds of bikers. There is also a play area if you have children. Met some lovely people here and if I wasn't meeting up with friends elsewhere I would have stayed for longer just to chat to the locals.

Very friendly cafe run by a great bunch. Set next to a campsite and lake, it's great in the summer sitting outside of benches with your breakfast. Very reasonably priced and great breakfast set with everything you could want. (Visit - 06/08/2015 Breakfast)

The cafe is a basic, very basic cafe. We had poached eggs on toast and a bacon sandwich, the poached eggs were fried and the bacon dirty from an un cleaned hot plate. The microwave was in constant use as well.

We go out once a week to find a new place to enjoy tea and cake and we came across this one by chance whilst out for a ride in the area. It is beside a lake which is popular with fishermen, has a few touring caravan sites, lots of different items for the children to play on and plenty of seating inside and out. It is run by two very friendly and helpful ladies who serve up delicious meals including all day breakfasts as well as cakes! A good find
