Good range of beers with a nice buzz about the place. Intimate garden space but sometimes you hsave to share it with the smokers. Well kept beer and helpful staff.

Always friendly and welcoming. Beautiful terraced area with lovely views over the grassed garden. Excellent location next to train station with good car park. Evenings are nice for professionals working or a few drinks with friends and weekends are very family friendly. It is lovely seeing the community come together on a Sunday.

Great traditional pub, had a DJ playing some music in the gardens so it was great to have a dance, staff seemed very friendly and drinks reasonably priced.

Best pub in Stowmarket easily, me and my friends go, I'm not a big drinker and they always make me a cup of tea or coffee, and once I got a hot chocolate and a blanket!! It's a proper pub :)

Honest and friendly local pub. Staff are very welcoming. They have great value food and you certainly aren’t ripped off with the drink prices. They have a very large and neat garden area with a children’s play area and a sheltered outdoor area for smokers etc. In the warmers months they also serve fresh pizza from their outdoor oven. This place is just a simple, easy, honest, friendly and great value local pub.

Lovely proper pub, great bar to sit around. Good pool table as well. Plenty of seating inside and out. We raised a glass to John R. I. P.

I wanted a quiet drink with my friends but ended up with screaming kids running around the beer garden and the dodgy looking play area...loud boorish drunk blokes in the little beer garden, choking on smoke from a Pizza shed and loud traffic on the main road...not my idea of a quiet drink...still it may appeal to others if you like that sort of thing.

We chose this pub for a pint specifically because it is listed in the current edition of the Campaign for Real Ale ‘Good Beer Guide’ and we were not disappointed. This is still a ‘proper’ old fashioned pub and I say this without criticism. A small range (again, not a criticism) of real ales were available on hand pumps – quite sufficient to meet our needs. More beers do not always equate to better, as they may not be sold as quickly. The licensee served us, made us feel welcome and was full of bonhomie. The pub was the busiest of those we visited that day and is clearly well supported by locals, who included us in conversation. Food should have been available at lunch time but was not. The licensee was apologetic about this and explained it was a ‘work in progress’ and was due to happen soon. This didn’t help us at the time of or visit of course, but at least the apology was offered. This is a pub I will happily return to when circumstances allow.

Tried to eat here today at lunchtime. Signage indicated food being served as well as a takeaway service. It appears there's been a change of tenants and they're not quite kitchen ready as yet, Disappointing as it looked nice inside!

Cracking Freehouse - lovely atmosphere. Very friendly landlord and superbly well kept St Austell beers (Tribute and Trelawny on draft when 4 of us visited yesterday lunchtime from Ely via train). We also had some keenly priced, good lunches here. Has a huge beer garden for summer time too. Very highly recommended! We'll be back!

Traditional family pub that does a good range of beers and lagers, the food is home made and served in good sized sensible portions. There is also a pizza oven within the garden area that serves up delicious pizzas, I cannot say enough about the family who run it, they are really welcoming and friendly.

Good beer, Good food & Good ambiance. Car park at the rear if required, driven past lots & lots of times & decided to pop in & found a hidden gem!

Had big portion food. Staff is very nice. I've stopped just for lunch and had a chat with bar tender and guests.. it was nice

Best pub in Stowmarket by far. Friendly atmosphere always some entertainment going on. The landlord and lady really care about the community they live in. Beers are all good quality checked by Lee himself daily. Garden has a nice play area away from tables. Keep up the good work. Cheers John

Went into this lovely pub to watch the international rugby, fine ales and cider along with the more familiar branded stuff. Normal people (strange for Slowmarket ) enjoying a normal Saturday i will come again for the Autumn Internationals. Neil

Nice little friendly local Pub that has a basic pub grub menu - and also has home made cakes etc plenty of entertainment and games on hand - together with a child friendly garden. The draft ale is kept in exceptionally good condition, others could take note.

This is a great local pub with a warm and friendly atmosphere to all! It serves food for some of the night but is a good pub for groups to socialise over a drink without the music being too much.

Went in on a Sunday lunch time was quite, but very friendly and they had the formula one on. Look forward to going back maybe on a Friday or Saturday.
