Food good, quiet evening mid week

Great pub, always a friendly atmosphere and the food is great!! Menu changes often, good potions & not too pricey. Car park at the back, baby & dog friendly.

Went last week with my friend. The food wasn't great. My friend had fish, chips & peas but it was more like a kids meal. Not good value at all. Should have gone to the local chippy!

Food was so bad been going in for years but last week will be the last time.

Nice pub with friendly staff, good atmosphere with sports game on.

The food is decent priced drinks are not too bad but could be cheaper, sometimes it takes a while to get served and there really isn’t much to do there.

Loving watching the euros here, atmosphere is great with plenty of TVs and volume turned up… also never had to queue at the bar even during half time 👍🏼

Went in for family gathering, not good experience.

Just had lunch there. Looks great from the road. I was asked for my table number when ordering food , the table that I really wanted didn't have a number despite a really good look 🙈. So I picked another table that had a number. The beef and ale pie was excellent, chips and broccoli 🥦 good. The extra gravy was a bit thin , just needs reducing. Unfortunately it was brought to the table with a chip on the edge of the plate 😞 Brownie with ice cream was good . I ate outside, which to be honest needed a good clean and sweep, loads of rubbish on the floor, which really should be done before customers arrive 😕

A selection of beers what you come to expect in a Greene King pub - best selling ales but rarely anything leftfield. The Landlord was first pull of the day, came out lively but soon went flat. 10% discount on cask for CAMRA members. All the Sports channels plus BBC News to entertain the customers. Huge car park to the rear.

Too many TV screens. They are everywhere and turned on even when no one is watching them. No atmosphere.

OK pub, no real atmosphere, over priced beer

It can be a bit noisy and rowdy sometimes but that comes with being popular really. But had many quiet meals as well. Overall good pub.

We held my husband's wake at the white horse on tuesday,friends and family said how lovely it was,the buffet was delicious,well presented,great value for money and the staff were really helpful.

Had Senior Citizen £7.99 meal. 3 dishes which were very nice, tasty and well presented. However, the place was again very cold and made us (6) most uncomfortable. No heating was apparent.

I went in there with my dad at the spur of the moment. Not been in there in a couple years we was bit peckish so we ordered some food 😋 it was just the right portion on what we needed reasonable price and decent beers. Definitely be going in the future

Usually visit here for Sunday roast as it is local to us. Food is good value for money. Staff very friendly and the Services is good There is also a good selection of cask ale!!

This is my local, usually good but they really need to sort the scum. Sat outside, 2 separate tables with carrier bags of their own drinks. 1 table wasted at 4 pm talking loudly about sex and violent topics. 1 table kept taking phone calls, going to the car park, and returning with a wad of notes, you don't have to be miss Marple to know what they were doing, the place is renowned for dealing in the car park. Staff great as always but turning a blind eye. Please do not bring your children to sit outside here. EDIT: The above was an old review on a bad weekend. The pub is great now and not seen any trouble makers for a while, added an extra star.

So ridiculously understaffed it's beyond a joke. I feel so sorry for the poor staff running around like headless chickens because the management think that a Saturday night when the football is on only needs 1 person on the bar. Greene King are jokers.

I dined here today with three family members although I thought the menu was a little limited our choices were extremely good and enjoyed by all, we will be back for sure.

Nice pub in Worsely was fairly quiet but a few people eating meals. Had a nice bite to eat with plenty of free parking spaces at the rear of the pub.

Fish chips and mushy peas ... Don't mind if I do - excellent!

Great local, good to watch the sport and have some drinks. Fair prices and nice staff too. Dog friendly as well. Best part is the outdoor screen in the beer garden for watching sport in the sun.

Great friendly crowd and welcoming staff. Thursday Club! Definitely a good regular for irregulars

Just recently visited The White Horse what a delightful place staff were so friendly and helpful x the food was lovely especially the rosemary and Seasalt fries x we had beautiful sandwiches as well x it's so nice to go for lunch where everywhere was clean and the staff so Pleasant and happy to help x overall a lovely place to go x

The White Horse is a great place to go, family , dogs, beer garden, food menu is amazing, Tasha and the crew are brilliant, I’ve never experienced trouble in there , I have two bull terriers and so I’m never short of conversation, it’s a great pub and very friendly

Went in tday for food , can't tell you how disappointing it was , got a mixed grill took about 45 minutes for it to come out luke warm and an egg what looked like it was fried the full 45 minutes , asked for a new egg not nuked an got it after I'd finished the meal smh , must of been waiting for the chicken to lay it ..won't be returning an wouldn't recommend.

Just got home after a lovely meal at The White Horse. Food was piping hot, very tasty and reasonably priced. The dessert...we decided to have the mini pudding with coffee...it was perfect 🥰 I took my dog into the pub as well...he was made very welcome and he also enjoyed the evening too. Will definitely visit again. 😊

Nice pub and great if you have a dog they also sell dog meals for a decent price aswell and the portion sizes are good

5 stars to the White Horse. Tasha the landlady kindly reserved part of the pub for a suprise family party with friends. The bar staff Liv and Matt worked really hard and was excellent as we had a good turn out. Lucie was fantastic helping with the room set up to give us more room and helped out all night. Everyone had a fantastic time! Thankyou so much you really looked after us. We've also been in many times for food and its always been good. Thanks again 🥳🥳🥳

Something for everyone on this menu- from 4 to 66 year olds, vegetarian and fussy eaters! And every plate was emptied. Nice big table, with colouring sheets for the smaller ones. Cheerful and efficient service, with Liv the server checking we all had all the sauces etc.

3 course meal for 2 £42 excellent value

Great pub with nice decor although sadly food finished early due to an evening event. Missed a trick there as was ready for food.

Old style pub with pleasant staff good disability toilet and space for wheelchairs or trolley. Food hot, good and reasonable priced. Coeliac menu available.

Dirty toilets. Loads of dogs. Waitress stroked the dogs then brought our food out without washing her hands.

Lived here for 20+ years. Arrogant manager and staff give preference to locals. I thought it had improved but I was wrong

Lovely food yesterday. Service spot on. Damo the barman always friendly. Waitress excellent with condiments and check back. Always a great visit well done to all will be back

Lovely food we had burger on the menu it advertised burger chip onions rings and salad no onions ring came when I ask them they said they had ran out of them so gave us more Chips really good enough but the burger was tasty

Friendly helpful staff. Busy for a Tuesday evening which surprised me, but could be because of the lovely weather. Food lovely and plentiful. Very fast service, didn't have to wait long at all. Such good value. Beer garden been done up since the last time I visited and looks great. Definitely recommend.

Really nice pub. We went here after taking our dog for a walk round worsley woods and had some great food. They show football and dogs are friendly. Outdoor area too. Food really good. We had fish and chips and nachos which were great. Would recommend.

Not been in for a few years. Pub still OK but dining area used to be full. When we went in for a Sunday lunch l thought they weren't serving food because it was empty. When we got our food l knew why .Food was awful .Won't be going back again

We were looking for a local pub, that served good pub grub. We ordered the food around 7:20pm and waited until 7:55pm. To be fair, the place was busy! Two main meals for £12:49, such good value and plenty of choice. We oped for the steak and ale pie, mash and brocoli, as well as all day brunch. Pie was tasty and such a huge portion. My partner enjoyed his brunch, especially what he described as good quality sausages. We were that full, we didn't get chance to sample the desserts. We would definitely dine there again. Value for money.

I arrived at approx 12.45 with two friends and the place was empty apart from one couple having a meal and three workmen having a drink .but soon realised why that was .we ordered a meal each .mine was fish .chips. mushy peas . The fish was just an empty shell of batter with no fish inside and well overcooked they did bring me another one but on its own .its a good job i carried on eating the chips otherwise they would have been cold by the time the other fish arrived . Photo to show .my friend ordered a toastie she said it was just ok . I got my friend a lime juice and water .( The driver ) but it just looked like a glass of water . So i will cross it off my list in the future .

I have never been in a more welcoming pub before. I cannot recommend this pub more. The manager and bar staff are kind, gentle and welcoming. The service is outstanding and when combined with the great quality of service and wide choice of affordable drink and food, the experience is better than any other pub in swinton. I highly recommend, absolutely outstanding.

Been twice, half an hour wait for a bru the first time, booked a table in advance the second time, and they hadn’t even reserved a table, rubbish

Underwhelming, the halloumi fries were cold and as you can see from the size of the fork a tiny portion and certainly not worth £5.99 the Hygiene also does look great as you can see from the photos, the chef was also wondering around the kitchen with sweat pants and a hoodie, not very professional. Was drawn in by the reviews, maybe we came on a bad night but won’t be coming back.

First time visit with my family. Excellent food and great service! Advisable to book a table at weekends. Large car park at rear. Large pub with big screen tv's for the sky sports fans.

Went in today I wanted a coffee and to my surprise the coffee machine is still not working for all the years I've gone in this pub that machine has not worked why have it if your not going to use it not everyone wants an alcoholic drink cold soft drink this pub is an eating establishment so they should have a machine that actually works.

Called after using the online booking system with Greene King, booking confirmed by email. Arrived at 12.15pm to be told the kitchen is shut until 3pm, I assume when the match finishes. Emailed Greene King head office and complained.

Absolutely brilliant. Staff were so friendly they went out of their way to make our experience an enjoyable one. 10/10

Visited lunch today Friday and lovely to see service as usual - senior menu & small plates - so very pleasantly impressed with quality of food and friendly service received! First trip here since lockdown and will def be back - 5* service thank you! X

Great kids' menu and reasonably priced. Lovely Katsu Curry and burgers. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!

Very poor service 45 minutes waiting for food is unacceptable seeing as the pub wasn't very busy, and when the food did turn up the steak was rare not medium as ordered, yet another wait, the rest of the party had finished their food before the steak was replaced, we then tried to order desert off the new menu only to be told the dessert we wanted wasn't being served, don't advertise something if you can't supply it.

Waited 45 minutes for our food which is unacceptable as the pub wasn't very busy, when the food did come the steak was raw instead of medium as ordered, another wait,the rest of the party had finished their meals before the steak had been replaced, when we came to order desert off the new menu we were told the one we wanted wasn't being served yet, don't advertise something if you can't supply it.

Greeted by bar lady very politely and promptly and with a smile that's always nice to receive 🙂 nice beer garden and reasonably priced drinks 👍
