Great selection of beers and wine. Knowledgeable staff and a friendly service

Great pub,bar staff pleasant and helpful.

Visited as part of work event which was interrupted by rain! Great guiness, also many special ales including Erdinger dunkel! Plenty of screens to watch sports. Good old fashioned atmosphere retained. A top boozer but keep it quiet we don't want everyone marching in!!

We didn't eat anything. Ali is a place with a beautiful garden for sitting on the square! The staff is extremely friendly

I do like the refurbishment as its not only re-oriented the bar area as well as creating a more stylish interior. I like it. Anyhow, still keeps a great range of beers and a fine selection of bottle Belgian beers.

Somehow never been in this pub before, despite only being a few minutes walk round the corner from my work. Turns out it’s great! Great beer, staff, fixtures and fittings etc. Cheers!

Busy pub located in a nice little square with loads of outdoor seating.A good selection of ale is on offer if a bit on the pricey side, would visit again though.Also live sports on the telly.

Great boozer. Excellent selection of drinks. Nicely renovated. The solo staff member was outstanding at a busy time. Guinness and a rare dram for £10 is a good deal too.

Recently had some renovation work done and the results are very pleasing on the eye. Fantastic selection of beer and very friendly service. Fantastic location in Salford, well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed.

The best pint of Guinness outside of Ireland!

Heard they serve the best Guinness in town. They do! A lovely pint of Guinness and a packet of Guinness crisps. The place has recently been redecorated and looks great. Staff were good too

Lovely traditional pub for beer lovers. 15+ casks and kegs on at any given time.

Absolutely appalling customer care, in this venue myself and friends have suffered homophobic attacks, predation by old drunken men that are absolutely out of control in the venue and drunks trying to start fights. Avoid at all costs.

Pros: Great beer selection! Great location! Dog friendly! Cons: No food - only crisps. Service is geared toward locals only. If you’re a tourist or not a Brit, you won’t feel welcome here. Fruit flies in abundance. Kept swatting them away.

Incredible old-school pub As great as city centres are, I often wish for a traditional pub to have a few drinks. Thankfully someone recommended the New Oxford to me and I'm so glad they did! The New Oxford is the epitome of what a pub should be, great selection of drinks, good craic and welcoming for all. The pub itself whilst small, packs an impressive selection of beers on tap, from a wide variety of breweries, as well as an good selection of Belgian Beers (which are not for me, but it's great to see the offering for an otherwise overlooked beer). The staff were attentive, polite and knew how to pour a proper pint. You can also tell they look after the lines, glasses and kegs, something which many pubs overlook. If you're in Manchester or Salford, I couldn't recommend stopping in for a pint enough - well worth a visit! Keep up the great work!!

The Guinness was good, however was a bit pricey!! Historic pub in an old square. Large range of real ales and pleasant enough but wasn't very busy. Think maybe would be busier if not so pricey!

Busy Friday evening session. Pub eas buzzing. However, only one poor barmaid running the entire show. She was working flat out. The range and quality of beers was excellent as always.

Judgemental and hostile locals. Posh southerners trying to make my birthday weekend uncomfortable with no reason other than an attempt to grab power from a lonesome yung city kid, aka bullying. Selfish and pitiful really but I don’t acquiesce my power that easily. Furthermore look at their responses to the lowest rated reviews, serious antagonistic issues, serious complex, you’re in salford mate pipe down ya wrongens.

Far too expensive!! We popped in here for drinks after work. £13.40 fir a pint of Estella and a single gin and tonic! Too expensive for this area. I am a Salfordian and would NOT visit this bar again! We went on to get a drink n the Kings Arns across the road and only paid £10.50 for the same round. Come on New Oxford remember where you are! No wonder this bar was empty! Not recommended. What a shame when this used to be such a good bar.

Fast becoming my favourite pub in Manchester let alone Salford. Amazing cask lineup and the outside seating on a warm evening feels positively European.

A great pint of Guinness (quite expensive though) after a recommendation from Niall, although very tempted to try the many other drinks on offer. Nice seating area outside and welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. It was my first visit but certainly not the last.

Friday evening drinks. Small pub, but the beer selection is out of this world. Good seating and tables. Proper pub, just like they used to be, and just like they should be. Authentic pub toilets with comedy condom machine - a rarity.

This is a legendary pub that has been part of the Manchester/Salford scene for many years. You won't find a better choice of real ales in the area. Indeed, the Midlands is probably next stop if you want to match it on beer.

A great locals place with a beer range better than all in the area. A bonus is its great Belgium beer range - some on tap but mainly in bottles. The rating would have been excellent but for the foul mouthed drunken Irishman at one end of the bar. Losing a star for a customer, you say ? No, he is the landlord.

I was going through an emotional time with my twin sister and then was refused drinks. When I asked why, they told me I was too drunk?? I said bye and the guy with long hair behind the bar told me to ‘fuck off’. Awful service. Will not be returning.

Very busy tonight - with no special event on - which is mark of how popular it is. Aside from the usual real ales, they do have a super selection of Belgian beers.

Excellent pub been going for years. Great staff well run and a good choice of beers. Don't get there as often as we would like . I think my liver is thankful for that .

This is the best pub in the whole of greater Manchester and I will meet anyone in Bexley Square for a fight who disagrees with me. Incredible selection of beers, appropriately priced for 2022 in a world of soaring supplier costs, the staff are unbelievably friendly considering I’m always smashed cos the beer is so good, great seating area outside, incredible juke box…all in an absolutely 100/10 boozer setting, can’t recommend enough. I’m done

This great real ale pub 6 minutes walk from Salford Central railway station is a great pub it's old fashioned and a proper local Staff friendly and the pub had 9 hand pumped ales on The pub has got a country and western theme on music to it on my visit
