Cheap and cheerful food in a Greene King chain pub. Beer was well kept.

I recommend the millionaire burger, very filling and delicious, a good night was had with a couple of games of pool and the 2-4-1 cocktails were fab. shout out to Kiara for for looking after us.

Whilst visiting Manchester we found this restaurant on Google, near our hotel. After all the positive reviews we were looking forward to it but we were very disappointed with our food. My husband's chicken was cold and everything just tasted deep fried in old oil.

Had the halloumi flatbread, was really looking forward to it but found it a bit bland, very disappointing

The bridgewater is a lovely pub and the staff are all really friendly- Kiara and Beth always chat to us and remember our orders 😊 The food is always really nice and our dog loves her mixed grill from the dog menu.

We have been coming here now for the last 6 months or so and every time the food is brilliant. You can really taste and see that the chef cares about the food he is serving. We have seen Aaron a couple of times and thanked him in person but decided to share this experience with everyone. Thanks Team Bridgewater

Enjoyed my time at the bridge water, the staff are very pleasant and easy to get along one person that made my experience better was the bartender called Beth and another waitress Kiara. The service was fast and the quality of the food during my stay was immaculate, definitely will be visiting again.

Been here a few times now have to say each time we really enjoyed our meals. Being an older person i ordered off the senior menu main and dessert. My husband ordered staek off the main menu he really enjoyed it. The pub is lovely and relaxed atmosphere, the staff friendly we were served by Kiara who was lovely and verry attentive.

We regularly come here the halloumi fries, burgers and mac and cheese always make us come back. Lovely food as always and friendly staff, some of the chefs came out to serve us our food which was a nice touch. Not get deserts from here as we get starters instead so can't comment on them. Thank you as always One suggestion is having a bit more of a lunch menu/healthier options like a jacket potato or a panini or something just for those who do want to have a more light option.

Had lunch here today and was really lovely, we got 2 burgers which were very nice and the staff on the bar were lovely (sorry didn’t get their names) and mark who brought our food was so friendly and bubbly and did a great job of checking we were alright and told us about the desserts and coffees etc. Fab customer service and fab value for money

Party of 7 booked, traveled 30mins to get there, to find the car park full apart from 6 places, but those spaces were not possible to park in due to other inconsiderate / self entitled people having double parked, we checked surrounding area for somewhere to park but no luck. I calmly rang the restaurant to ask if they were able to help, but all I got was attitude from the person saying she is far too busy to go around asking. Which would be fair enough if she told me politely but the attitude was out of order so we left. So you lost a party of 7 and while I was there other people were trying to park unsuccessfully and leaving too

*Autism Friendly* This restaurant has a cosy and clean atmosphere and plenty of room. The tables were all clean and had everything we needed- condiments and menu, placed nicely on the table. The music was at a lower level but still loud enough to enjoy. The menu has a wide range of options that are reasonable price-wise, with lots of offers. The staff were really nice. They ask if your food is OK, they were friendly and welcoming. It appears dogs are permitted but from what I saw, they stay on the floor. Lots of parking available. Disabled toilet access, albeit the disabled toilet was a bit grotty when compared to the male and female toilet. People who depend on disabled toilets should be given the same standards as the ordinary toilets. No mirror either? At quieter times there are tables in nooks and corners for people who are easily overwhelmed, to sit in and feel at ease. I’m certain the staff at this restaurant would accommodate anybody that needed any special measures or assistance. The food was good, plate full of food which was as described. Would visit again and plan on doing soon!

Food was red hot, no problems with any of the meals. Very clean and staff was very welcoming. Definitely recommend.

6 of us for lunch we are regular customers always enjoyed, waited over 50 minutes, all food was cold, steak was complete fat had to keep spitting it out, came on hot skillet yet stone cold, also the baked potato was an insult in regard to the price of the meal, it was the size of a plum, tiniest baked potato I've ever seen, we all went home hungry, ridiculous

Five of us had lunch there,(not the first time.) Excelent friendly service from Con+Dan. Food lovely and all dishes piping hot. Highly recomended good "pub grub" Steaks,pepper sauce pies,we all had different and all was good. Thank you Julie (spain)

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food and drink are nice and are reasonably priced. The toilets are are well presented and clean. We visit this pub most Tuesdays for the pub quiz which is great fun and free of charge.

Christmas Dinner @2.30pm , disgusting! sliced Turkey, veg was rock hard , parsnips burnt ,yorkies hard in the bottom, gravy tasted of salt , £50 per head - What a waste , emailed twice no reply , wont be going again .. The young girl that served us was friendly, looking round at this time there was a lot of full plates , could hear similar being said. shame as a nice pub! No compliments to the chef on this ocassion.

Food is amazing. The pub is always clean, great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Lovely place to go for food and family time or as a couple or with friends. It is fast becoming my favourite place to go to for food and a few drinks.

The food was delicious and service was excellent. We were not advised by staff to register our vehicle reg.BUT I received a parking fine notice 2 weeks later it was dark when we arrived and dark when we left i did not see the parking notice it will definitely make me think about a return

This is our favourite local pub for food and drink. The service is great and the staff are very friendly to all people whoever you are. This location is just opposite the historical Bridgewater Canal and a very short drive from the Barton aqueduct and Manchester -Liverpool railway line, the world's first passenger railway.

Great location, friendly staff. What more could you ask for. Kiara was very helpful and even suggested a few great choices to try from the menu and they didn’t disappoint. Definitely worth a visit, they even have a Tuesday night quiz that finished the night off perfectly.

Fabulous pub in great location.

Always enjoyed my food in this place, but lately my "sizzling" comes cold all the time. So cold that cheese on top of it won't even melt. I'd prefer to wait 5 more minutes and have it hot. Please don't make me find another pub for my lunches.

Another great visit to our favourite Flaming Grill. Danielle and the team are great hosts and always remember us even down to the extra portion of butter for the mash spuds!! We had rib-eye sizzlers and the cut of meat was superb, I've paid a lot more for much worse! Absolute value for money and always fun to go the Bridgewater. See you soon!!

A family birthday celebration with adults and children. Very welcoming and excellent service. Great atmosphere and staff were fantastic.

I like it here. Very friendly staff, good food, good atmosphere. The quiz night on Tuesday is excellent. One point, which prevents 5 stars which I would like to have given. The “Venus flytrap” toilets in the gents have totally inadequate room to get in and out.

A friendly service by the barman, a little close to the main road for the beer garden, but a beautiful building with lots of original features. All in all, it's really nice establishment

I have eaten here 3 times in the last month. Every time I have had a warm welcome and very efficient service. The food has always been delicious and we have never had to wait long. Mark is so friendly and very funny, he makes me laugh every time and nothing is ever too much trouble, what a great guy. Aaron served us very promptly at the bar and was very friendly he also brought our delicious desserts over very quickly. I highly recommend you try this pub you won’t be disappointed. 😊

Went to the bridgewater tonight. Not been for a long time. There were four of us all the meals were perfectly cooked. The steaks were amazing perfectly cooked to the way we asked. Will definitely recommend and definitely going back. Well done to the chef

Had a get together lunch with my friends. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Great offers on the menu too. The staff are helpful and pleasant. Will revisit again! A good number of parking spaces - guests and diners must register their car reg for free parking. I can imagine the pub will be very popular in the evenings and weekends. Glad we had the lunch on a Thursday as we could actually talk and have a proper conversation!

Local gem. We love coming over here for a treat meal. Food is always very tasty, freshly prepared and piping hot. Staff friendly and polite.

Nice enough food and the staff are friendly. The parking validation is a bit of a pain. I received a hefty fine even though I was a patron which has put me off. Yes, I saw the signs. I have frequently been here and used the carpark and always ensure I validate my parking, however I still received the fine. I have paid it before the price escalated, EuroCarParks closed the case disallowing me to contest afterwards. I now don't have the PCN number and I'm always overly cautious here now, just in case. It's possible the machine had a fault and did not validate when entered. Bit of a nuisance for the customer.

Decided we’d try the pub, no clear signage about parking and staff didn’t mention anything about needing to pay, got a £100 fine after spending lots in the pub. Won’t be going back as I’ve never been charged to park in a pub car park before

Sunday went in for 3pm run out of Sundays lunch’s this happens a lot. Then wanted to order a coffee NO milk. What’s all that about. With the amount of staff on and hardly no customers I am sure one of the staff could have nip to shop or even asked. Restaurant next door.

We had my husband's 50th Birthday here and it was fabulous. There was 20 of us and it didn't seem to cause any problems. Great food and brilliant staff.

Stopped a few times on the way back to Monton from Formby. The food is excellent quality and very good value. The bar has a good selection of beer and wines and the coffee after the meal was also good.

Always love eating in the Bridgewater but today I felt it was all a bit rushed like our food was essentially rushed onto the table.

Best roast beef ever! Came down for father's day, first time I've ever been. They were very accommodating adding 2 extra seats to our booking at short notice, considering it's a busy Sunday. Thank you for that. (My sisters fault, she forgot to invite me, and our dad, I'll let you use your own judgement on that 😳🤦‍♂️) The service was brilliant. Prices, very reasonable and affordable, and honestly, the best roast beef rib, I have ever tried. (I chose to have it grilled for a few minutes to crisp it up, really appreciated the extra effort and mess for the chef to do that for me too) I also couldn't resist the mushroom garlic and cheese option for the roast. (Yes I ordered 2 dinners, yes I ate them both, yes I ate the biscoff cheesecake too, yes you are cruel for judging me) Anyway, we'll 100% be returning. Can't wait to bring our boy Frank for him to try the doggie menu 🤣 Thank you very much!

Brilliant canal, very straight considering... It's been dyed orange by the nearby marmalade factory. It's transported citrus from Liverpool to Monton for over a thousand years, to boost the famous local marmalade industry, but the off-spill and juice seepage has taken its toll. When it freezes in winter, locals mix chunks of it with home-made hooch brewed from the bottled innards of Eccles cakes. It's like a vodka orange, but illegal. These Salfordians!! 😂

I went recently for lunch .not impressed with the food ..but the biggest bug bear was being a driver was £3.50 for a can of vimto . But easy parking as long as you put in you registration number .

Not been here for a while and it was all change. We went for a family event and they had the buy on get one free on the burgers which was a great deal. The food was good Overall. The beef burgers were well cooked and moist but the chicken burgers were overcooked and dry. The service was slow but there was around twenty of us including kids so it was to be expected. They have a new menu which looks really good. We will be returning but not ordering the chicken burger. 😁

Went in to watch the football. Great atmosphere. Good area right opposite the canal and there’s benches out the front too which is going to be ideal for after work drinks this summer. Nice options of gins too!

Brilliant place service is the best, the staff are friendly your food is served to you at the same time which is nice to all eat together, they move the plates after you have finished your meal quickly and check everything is ok and its not badly priced and the food choice is good and tasty.

Good beer and ok food. A busy pub for families but if you’re keen to come out for a quiet drink or quiet bite to eat with your partner this likely isn’t the place for you. Just about every occasion we come to The Bridgewater it turns in to a ‘quick one’ due to the amount of children just running around the Pub screaming and playing games whilst staff just seem blind and deaf to it? Appreciate it’s not the Staffs responsibility and it’s the Parents but this clearly needs a solution on how this could be managed as it’s really out of hand. If you want to be known as more of a feed your family cheap and let the kids do whatever then fine, I suppose you’re busy with family’s but that’s all you ever will be I imagine. Really not relaxing for those that want to come out for a chill so would recommend next door or the other pub in the village where they have things a lot more under control.

Not to impressed first thing I noticed was the menu s could do with a wipe over they where dirty then i was told the vouchers I was given has a Christmas gift where not accepted when it clearly says on website they accept pub vouchers the lasagne was stodgy and part of it was burnt as if been in a microwave to long I thought the steak my daughter had was ok when she gave me some to sample but she thought it wasn't very good

Been here a few times of the years and used to frequent this pub twenty years ago. Much has changed over the time but I can only give my reviews based on the last few times we’ve been in. I’ll start with the positives: Decent priced beer, food is cheap and OK, staff are all very polite and friendly. So the big negative, unruly children! Now, I guess the manager is going to say that it is a parent’s job to ensure that their own children behave responsibly and to some extent that is 100% correct. However, management need to do something about the ridiculous behaviour of kids in the pub running wild. As I type there is a young girl, probably less than 12 years old, roller skating up and down in front of the bar. Look to the left and a group of 4 kids, all under 10 years old, run wild and play hide and seek under customers tables… whilst the parents of the kids sit idly by doing nothing. I am a father of 4 myself, so I know what I’m talking about. I know kids will be kids but there has to be a limit. Last week, there was a match between Liverpool & United was showing on the TV. The atmosphere in the pub was cool and everyone enjoyed the day… However, kids legging it up and down, screeching and shouting is not on! I never allowed my kids to run berserk in pubs chasing each other, rollerskating and playing hide and seek under tables where customers are sat, and whilst I know it’s not my pub I would say that most people wouldn’t agree with little kids sprinting up and down the pub etc. All it takes is for a member of management to say to the parents that children are not allowed around the bar area. Other than the shameless style parents this isn’t a bad pub.

A fab pub! A lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and an impressive selection of drinks 😉. For food we had the Nachos and shared a Chick 'n' Mix Platter, both were delicious and great value for money! can't recommend enough and can't wait to go back! 🙌
