One of the most picturesque pubs I've ever visited with the most wonderful gardens.

We had enjoyed our visit to the Bridgewater RHS in the morning but the food offering there is limited and the atmosphere manic in the cafe area. Consequently we decided to head elsewhere for lunch and hit upon Worsley Old Hall. The service was great with a warm welcome from Sean who sorted a table for us and advised on the menu. The food was good quality, served promptly and at a reasonable price. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Our first visit in a couple of years to Worsley Old Hall delivered a pleasant meal, served by friendly staff. Whilst the main bar area was very busy and lively, the dining room to the side provided a relaxed setting to enjoy our meal, which included starters of crispy calamari and marinated feta, mains of feather of beef and pork belly, with a side of fries, and deserts of sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee. All were very good and reasonably priced. Whilst we enjoyed a bottle of tempranillo and the Timothy Taylor Boltmaker, my dining partner was a little disappointed that there are no cocktails on the menu at Worsley Old Hall. All in our meal and drinks came in at under £120, which was good value.

Been coming here for many years, way back to when they used to have Jacobite evenings with traditional mead! So that's some time ... I always find it relaxing and nothing is too much trouble. I love the fact people can bring their dogs too. Kids are welcome too, but there's not lots of things for them to do, except run around and enjoy the lawns, which is nice as it means you can hear yourselves talking and kids quietly laughing in the background. The grounds are lovely too. Can be difficult to park though, particularly in summer months, and there's not always enough shade if you sit out in summer either. Food is always hot, they've changed the menu recently and it's a little more expensive than it used to be, but the food is good, and plenty of it.

This was my first visit here and as i drove into the place i thought this is a bit lardy da posh, and it was very nice inside too. And, sadly, that’s where it ended. The food was awful. Totally and utterly tasteless and expensive too. i had the fillet steak sandwich with chips. A massive piece of bread with hardly any filling, so it just disappeared inside the bread. Chips were just normal frozen, vile things. When asked for ketchup and mustard, we got a tatty bottle which hadn’t been wiped and the mustard came in the jar with a spoon stuck in it. I’d no idea who’d had their grubby fingers on that spoon before it came to us. It just wasn’t very ‘tidy’. No point having a lardy da place being let down by the food and presentation. I’ve no idea why this place was so busy. I won’t be back. Too many other places who offer better for less

Very busy for a midweek late afternoon/early evening. Recently reopened after refurbishment of premises. No Ladies Toilets on ground floor but first floor rest-room is impressive. Visited with a group and no individual bills available...could be embarrassing as menu items were wide ranging in cost. Drinks: soft , non-alcoholic, and alcoholic were very expensive....£9 for a standard glass of house white wine. Perhaps I am out of touch but I did not feel that Worsley Old Hall is not a good option for a family visit. Lovely setting in pretty grounds. Adequate car-parking.

Visited on a gorgeous sunny Saturday and the place was heaving, seating outside was impossible to find but as we wanted some nice food we found a table inside by the bar area. We were a bit worried about the waiting time as the place was so busy the food came within 15 mins. I had the slow cooked shoulder of lamb with rosemary gravy, everything was absolutely delicious, the meat fell off the bone and every mouthful of the dauphinois packed buttery flavour! My fella had the steak burger and it was about 2 inches thick, perfectly cooked and juicy. Afterwards we managed to bag a table outside and enjoy the sun with a few drinks. Well worth the visit. They had a birthday party going on under a marquee with its own outdoor bar, so would be a great location for an event too

We came as a group of 8 and were put in the 'quiet room' which is code for the forgotten about room. We had to ask to order, we had to ask for our plates to be cleared after every course, ask when we wanted more drinks. Service was not great in there. This isn't the first time this has happened where we are forgotten in that room. It needs a member of staff looking after at all times. We've been in a private room and its been great service! The veggie roast was poor, very dry and lacking in flavour, thank god for cauli cheese! Not rushing back.

Been eating out at Worsley Old Hall for over 25 years now, because it has lovely ambience and outside gardens beautifully set out-- and ideal for families, keeping kids happy. But regrettably, over time, the menu has become less than exciting,, the portions,( okay for a child) and prices far from value for money. - you need to increase food portions-- to match your prices, at a more acceptable level. Three of us went home still feeling peckish, after spending £69 on mains with a drink-not good!! So come on Worsley Old Hall management, get your act together-- you have a fantastic venue-- so give us fantastic food!!! 😘

The place is large and would suit large bookings, family parties or weddings. I'd highly recommend a visit if you're a couple wanting a relaxing drink. I noticed events for life music advertised aswell. They had an amazing outside area that will be fantastic in the summertime with space for children to enjoy as well as adults. There's a plenty of walking trails on the door step and we found parking easy and with plenty of spots 10/10

Booked a table for 5 adults and a toddler for 11.30, when according to the booking page the ‘indoor tables’ are available and the brunch menu ends so the main menu must start right? Wrong!! 10 mins after being seated and being told he would be back with the menus we still had no menus and no drinks. We went to find the person who seated us, we were told ‘the menus are just being printed’. Surely this is something that should have already been done earlier in the day. I am fully aware that the menu changes daily but would you not know by say 11am what was going to be available so they can be printed earlier. Another 5 minutes pass and we are told the menus won’t be ready until midday. 30 mins after our reservation. Finally our drinks order was taken. So 40 mins after our arrival the food order was taken. Over an hour after we arrived the 1st adult meals came out, they weren’t even hot. The child’s meal was the last to appear, 10 mins after the 1st adult meals. Now I’m no expert but surely it’s common sense that the kids meal should be one of the 1st meals served to keep them occupied etc. To be asked ‘is everything ok with your meals’ when we were still waiting for the kids meal is baffling. By the way the kids meal was red hot so couldn’t even be eaten straight away. Needless to say I will not be back in a hurry.

The worst Sunday lunch we’ve ever had, served by a very rude manager. Ordered and paid for a kids Sunday roast only to be given fried chicken and chips for my toddler. The manager said “well it’s not on the menu” even though we had one about a month ago. The meal itself came with a drop of gravy, stale roasties and awful veg. Tables left dirty and not cleared, had to ask someone twice to please remove the glasses and plates. We were half way through our meal by the time the table was cleared from the previous diners. A gastro-pub that relies on the neighbours (both in the surrounding area and the hotel next-door, which it is unconnected to) for most of its trade. It's a beautiful old building with a massive beer-garden and plenty of space inside, too (but it is advisable to book a table for food). The food is divine, and come in at just under £10 for the starters and often just under £20 for the mains. While some staples remain, the menu is revised daily. I've pretty much eaten my way through the menu, and there was nothing that was below par. There's a good selection of drinks (including non- alcoholic options, which is gadget as there is a large car park) Front of house staff are attentive and polite, although you get the impression that for some it is a stop-gap whilst waiting for sobering better to come up. Some are friendly and chatty, but should perhaps take more care about what they say (regaling patrons about how hungover they are following the night before is not to everyone's liking!). Seasonal specials (pigs in blankets, mulled wine, and -yes- Christmas trees) are available, too, at this time of year..
