White Horse in Babergh

This was my first visit to The White Horse and must say just how pleased we were that we went. I will definitely be going again.

After living in the area for 5 years finally got here and was not disappointed. We hadn't booked and it was getting late for lunch. But we were given a table and have to say the food was delicious. I had the chicken melt and garlic bread. To be honest it was too much with the starter as the main dish was very generous. Everything was cooked well and very tasty and the price was realistic. Will definitely go there again.

Called in here for lunch last week and everything was great. We did not book, and considering just how busy they where, they found time to accommodate us. Food and service spot on. We will definitely be calling in again.

Went in on an extremely busy Sunday expecting a bit of a wait however the staff managed to fit us in and I must say, I will not be going anywhere else for a roast. The portions were very generous, the food was stunning and you could tell freshly cooked, accommodating and friendly staff and just an overall amazing experience. Couldn't want for more and will definitely be returning.

The White Horse Great Waldingfield AVOID AT ALL COSTS Terrible experience for a family Hour wait for our food Chicken fillet sweet and sour Chicken tasted of soap and looked horrible Lasagne not nice Ham egg and chips ham slimy eggs weren’t great and found a white hair in the food!! Chips strange! Spoke an older lady at the bar who I assume was the landlady and stated we weren’t impressed and the two girls couldn’t eat their food and were taking them to Macdonalds so they could eat and her response was to look at me filthy and tell me she’d refund the girls 2 meals but not to go back again! Like I’d go back to such a horrible place with such a horrible manager anyway! Waste of £50 of my money

We had a lovely lunch, with generous portions, so big one of our party got a 'doggy bag' and enjoyed her supper the next day! Friendly and helpful staff.

We called in for a pint and light lunch after a morning's country walk.This is still very much a village pub that also does food (rather than a restaurant with beer). The premises are unpretentious but clean, tidy and comfortable. We received a friendly welcome.There was a choice of real ales on offer on hand pumps - more than most pubs offer, and as a bonus they were not all the 'usual' beers. We both chose an excellent Calvors pint, brewed not too far away.Lunch was a sandwich each, made to order and was well presented and well filled.We had a straightforward meal in nice surroundings at reasonable cost. We will use this pub again.

Lovely pub with good atmosphere. We had to wait a while for our food but it was well worth it! It was cooked beautifully and a lot of it. Will now be my “go to” for Sunday lunch!

Wonderful food as usual and nice atmosphere. We had juicy lamb shank and Mediterranean chicken, portions are always huge, wine and beer excellent. We enjoyed the company of a couple of visitors from Norfolk who also had a great meal I believe.

Visited for Sunday lunch with the family. Very good value, large portions and genuine home cooked. Had the roast beef, very tender, proper roasties. Kids menu ok, very good meal. Very friendly staff, good selection of beers. Will def be back.

White Horse Lavenham Road | Great Waldingfield, Babergh District -great place to relax and take in the great atmosphere

We have now visited the White Horse a couple of times, a say a couple of times as I have been told how nice it is, but I have never seemed to be able to feel the same experience. The landlord isn’t particularly polite or accommodating, the pub itself never seems to be that clean, plus it’s a task to fight through the locals to get to the bar, they seem more content just standing or sitting there rather than letting you reach the bar to order a drink or any food. Having said that the food is pretty good and of decent quality and the selection of beers is impressive. It could be so much more with a little extra effort

As always, food amazing. Have been eating here for about 4 years and have never had reason to complain. Always take visitors here and they have all sung the praises of the quality and quantity of food. Keep it up guys.

Is so fab now they have been taken over food excellent service brilliant so much better than before food amazing!

This is our second Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint. Fresh vegetables, a good portion of meat and served hot. The portions are very generous and tasted great. Looking forward to next visit.

Para cardíacos! Muy generosas porciones de comida casera sabrosa, a un buen precio. Un largo tiempo ya que he luchado para completar mi comida cuando comer fuera. Sobresaliente, patatas fritas, guisantes filete, 2 huevos, piña, todo el tomate cocinado perfectamente me llenó. Mi pareja marroquí? Pechugas de pollo, servido con ensalada de patatas grandes y que era muy sabroso. Por desgracia no tenemos suficiente espacio para un dulce!

Visited friends who had moved into the village recently and thought it might be nice to try the local for a bite to eat. The Pub looks like a village pub should inside and out and the place was busy on a Friday evening. The first thing we noticed was the level of foul language in the Pub, it was relentless and appalling. Basically we felt like we had walked into a rough pub in the East End, actually come to think of it I have been into most of the pubs in the East End and most landlords wouldn't put up with the kind of language for too long. The second thing was the particularly unfriendly bar staff. We were committed by then so the four of us ordered one drink, drank it and left.

No hay muchos comentarios por el White Horse así que pensé que me gustaría añadir mis opiniones. Estuve en el pub hace varios años y no había regresado desde entonces. La razón principal es que estaba sucio cuchitril que necesitaba urgentemente una atención.

Visitamos ayer ya que tenían un imitador femenino de Elvis. Fuimos por dentro para tomar una copa. Luego buscamos un sitio para sentarse. El pub está dividida en tres. Bar principal donde todo el mundo estaba parado. Fuimos a la habitación a la derecha de éste, pero estaba lleno con una mesa de billar. La habitación la izquierda hasta el bar era "Elvis" sería cantando. Así que decidimos si queríamos sentar tendríamos que volver fuera. No podía oír "Elvis" que bien sólo cuando alguien abrió la puerta del pub. Habíamos planeado ir a comer algo, ya que tenía una buena selección de comida vegetariana pero no iba a comer afuera por una carretera.

Nos tuvimos que volver a experimentar el domingo asado increíble que plato en El Caballo Blanco. Fantástica relación calidad-precio y confort. Como una ventaja el personal es encantador. También fuimos a un almuerzo entre semana y disfrutamos del espinacas y champiñones y huevos de sobresaliente de lasaña. Genial seguro vallada en zona familiar al aire libre.
