I have always loved Indian food and this was one of the best Indian meals I have ever enjoyed. Every dish was so beautifully flavoured. If we didn't live 100 miles away I would be a regular visitor to the White Hart.

We were staying in the area and had read great reviews. We pre-booked, which was good because it is popular. We arrived to a warm welcome and were seated straightaway. Our drinks order was taken and brought promptly. Our food order was taken and again came out promptly. All fresh and tasty. We had lamb samosa, Amritsari fish pakora and poppadoms for starter. The fish was exceptional! For main one Biryani and one lamb chops with saag aloo & naan. Again delicious, plate lickingly good! The only downside was the lack of dessert options. Just ice cream. So we called it an early night to have dessert back at our hotel. That said I would highly recommend, the atmosphere is friendly & food delicious.

So, 3 Scotsmen walk into an English pub a couple of hours before England kick-off.... No, it's not the start of a joke, and nor is the White Hart ! We did not have a booking but got a large table for the 3 of us close to the TV. The beer was excellent with a couple of well-kept real ales and plenty of choice for kegged beer. I would also add it's cheaper than Glasgow prices. We ordered food - got to say it was a real highlight. I had the samosas for a starter/side dish. Great price and a big portion. 2 good sized samosas which tasted amazing. I had the lamb madras. I thought the price was on the high side compared to Glasgow - about £15 - until the food actually arrived. A large metal bowl filled with my choice. The lamb was succulent, melt-in-mouth perfection and there was plenty of it. The taste was out-of this-world and was obviously made fresh and with quality ingredients by someone who knows how to cook at the highest level. The naan was large and tasty. I can assure you the main courses are real value for money. The owner and all staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive. I would also add the customers were the same. Really great place to visit if you are in the area. I am hoping my work sends me back down that way soon - I'll be back to the White Hart any time I can.

Had an excellent evening meal here, we booked the table and had a friendly greeting, great menu choices and drinks, lovely atmosphere and a beautiful Inn which is situated in a lovely part of the village, inside and outside seating to eat, just as well we were hungry as the meal portions were huge, but extremely delicious, definitely a must to visit if your in that area to eat or drink, we had a lovely evening.

Excellent village pub on Flore, just outside Daventry. I visited here with a colleague and we both had food and enjoyed it throughly. The barman was very friendly and knowledgeable and the pub itself is very nicely furnished. We will definitely visit again on our next business trip and only wish we lived closer so at could visit more often. Great place

Ordered food for 6 people including children, fantastic correspondence from management and professionalism. When we got there staff were very polite (and the dog was lush). The food came in flat boxes and all packaging fully recyclable. The food itself was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. I was having the mixed grill and then the hubby seen it and swapped for his burger ♀️ (Lucky it was his birthday). The desert were a lovely addition. All on all will be hoping the takeaway continues through the lock down as it is lovely food from the local village pub and we need to support our local services. Fantastic evening thanks to you guys. Has to be the worst atmosphere of a pub I have ever been in. From the moment me and my friends walked in some of the locals gave us the most dirtiest looks like we have just murdered someone. The barmaid was very polite and gave us our drinks no problem we all then sat down had a chat amongst ourselves and then we were getting more looks and shakes of heads for the way we spoke (as we were from Essex) I would avoid this pub at all costs unless you like being looked at like a scumbag, if your in this neck of the woods do yourselves a favour get a cab somewhere else ...

Four of us enjoyed a meal in the White Hart on a Saturday night. The food was all good and reasonably priced. There is a short but adequate wine list, which all seemed to be the same price. We had a bottle of Chilean Viognier, which was good. The décor was pleasant and the staff were friendly and efficient. A very good village pub.

Went with the Sunday Lunch group, Staff pleasant and friendly and a lovely pub, the food was pretty average for a Sunday lunch, well presented, The roast pork was cut from a loin of pork and a little tasteless and dry, no crackling, the roast potatoes were not crisp. The mixed bowl of vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and asparagus stems) were fine and not over cooked. The lemon tart was shop bought and served with cream and/or ice-cream. Not bad for the price.

They have some nice cosy alcoves for eating and friendly, attentive staff. Whilst they have a good choice of options on the menu and the portions are very generous we would have preferred less quantity and better quality. I was expecting something wonderful and felt let down afterwards. The ambience was good, the real ale was god too. The menu looked impressive but when told that I couldn't have the Kleftico because the ones in stock were now out of date. With alarm bells ringing, I chose instead the Steak and Ale Pie which was delivered with a disc of independently baked puff pastry floating on the top of it . The Steak in the pie was so very well cooked such that it ceased to be succulent and had an almost dry texture. My wife and daughter both had the 'Battered' Fish and Chips; the fish looked 'breaded' and very much as if it had been cooked straight from from frozen.

Last night I went to eat at this pub with two of my friends. We had never been before but we're advised that their food was great. Being gluten free, it is sometimes difficult to find something tasty on the menu that I actually can and want to eat. When we arrived at the pub we were greeted by a smiley lady who found us a table immediately. As I looked through the menu I did not see anything that would be gluten free aside from a salad. I decided to ask the lady if there was something other than salad that was gluten free and she suggested that the chef could perhaps make something chicken and vegetable related. I was happy with this as it was not on the menu and they went out of their way to meet my needs. Shorty after I was asked if it was okay if the chef could add things to the chicken to make it taste better. I said he could do whatever he liked as long as it was gluten free! Then the food came out and it was spectacular! Lovely chicken with a tasty sauce, vegetables and a side salad. The chef himself even came out and asked me how it tasted! I was very pleased with both the food and the service! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Visited today with hubby for a spot of Sunday lunch. We have eaten here on other occasions but never tried the Roasts. We were not disappointed. There was choices of beef, lamb, pork, trio of those, chicken breast or salmon. There were also a few roast alternatives. We both had the lamb. Beautifully presented on a bed of sweet potato mash & roast potatoes. It was accompanied with homemade Yorkshire pudding & a large bowl of 4 vegetables (green beans, carrots, cauliflower & broccoli). Gravy was provided separately which I always prefer (I hate it when gravy is poured onto your meal by the kitchen before it’s given to you!). The lamb was cooked perfectly and was a good size portion. Neither of us needed dessert or had starters and are suitably full! Excellent value £27 for 2 roasts, a pint of Doombar and a lemonade. Staff friendly as ever. We are already planning to take family with us on our return visit.

Looking for a quick bite we stopped at the White Hart in Flore. Quite a substantial pub with a good sized car park, first appearances were not helped by its grey painted colour, and rather untidy presentation. However, on entering we were greeted with a warm welcome from the barman, and were assured that our two well-behaved dogs were just as welcome in the bar, but not, of course in the restaurant area. We took a table by one of the front windows and the happy barman volunteered to bring our drinks over when ready These were a soft drink and an excellent pint of bitter shandy whic he presented with a simple menu of the days fare, plus a separate menu showing the full range of meals available. We were rather pushed for time to make an appointment so ordered two baguettes, one oniion and cheese, and one chicken and ham..Both came with a mixed salad which was amazingly good. None of the usual shredded lettuce and tomato but a good mix of crunchy fresh vegetables in a very tasty sauce. All were freshly made. Simple yet so tasty! The White Hart is a good village pub catering for many of the local people and others passing by and deserve to succeed in these difficult times.

We enjoyed an impromptu Saturday lunch here last weekend and were impressed with the quality of the food. We've only been here once before, and that was some time ago, so decided it was time to give it another try.We had a sharing plate to start, which was tasty and had a good selection. There was 2 of everything, so perfect for 2 to share but still generous enough for 3, as we were. For mains we chose scampi and chips, beef & ale pie and chips, and lasagne. The chips were really good and reminded me of the best chip shop chips! The pie was tasty and packed with tender and succulent meat. The lasagne was good, though the cheese did tend to be a tad chewy, and it's possible this was heated up in the microwave. This was served with a nice side salad.Overall the food was well presented and reasonably priced, and portions were generous. We had a very welcoming experience and will be back another day.

The decor of this place is lovely homely and contemporary. The welcome is always exceptional and if you are not a local you are not treated any differently unlike in other village pubs. We both ordered a baguette and once again they were delicious , good produce and plentiful and accompanied by a lovely side salad. I chose chicken and bacon, and the husband had emmental and ham. Both exceptional value and served perfectly. We then decided to have a dessert and we went for the honeycombe cheesecake and when it arrived it looked like food art and the display and quality was that of a great restaurant. I'm not one to send food back but it was a disaster. The patty was burnt so badly all I could taste was burnt and nothing else. The food took a while to arrive but we weren't bothered by this as likely meant cooked fresh but my burger must have been under the grill that entire time. Myself and a friend had an evening meal here on Friday night. The food was nice and well presented but the service was awful to say the least. We ordered food and had it delivered to us and basically we didn't see anyone again for a long time.It took ages for them to clear the plates from the main meal and when they did they just didn't come back! We weren't offered further drinks, desserts or asked how the meal was. In fact the couple who I can only assume were the owners/licensees literally sat at the other end of the room with their backs to us on an iPad and ignored us.At 11.15pm the woman came over with the bill (after starting to turn lights off around us) and advised that the bar shut at 11pm.We asked why we weren't offered desserts or anything else earlier in the evening and she said that the kitchen closed at 9pm! Our table was booked at 8pm - you'd have thought that if the kitchen was closing at 9pm that we would have been advised and offered the opportunity to order a dessert beforehand. All in all a terrible experience. There are many pubs in this area with comparable food and far better service where you don't feel like such an inconvenience! We certainly won't be going back there!

We'd been looking for a place to eat (any place since we weren't being fussy) after a well spent afternoon. We walked into White Hart thinking it'd be like just like any pub around ours. The atmosphere as we came in was relaxed, we were immediately greeted and they looked genuinely happy to see us. The food was, as my husband put it, 5 star quality and it was well portioned so you felt pleasantly full once you'd finished your meal and felt very satisfied with what you'd had. Compliments to the cook and the wonderful staff who made us feel welcome in a place we'd never been.

Pleasant surprise .Lunch 14th Feb. Called in at 1.20 After being ignored at the Narrow Boat nearby (see review) , passed here and called in. Very welcoming , Owners in attendance, clean and great value. Food good standard, quickly served. Lamb curry excellent. Wine good price . £36 for 2 x mains, and bottle of decent wine. Will return soon. Cant ask more really for this type of meal.

14 of us dropped in for a pre-booked, post shoot dinner, around 3pm yesterday. Lovely warm welcome, good choice of ales and wines. Open fires and nice & warm. We all orders off the menu and food was delivered quickly. Massive burgers were apparently very good. Fish was a little over-cooked and my Bourbon basted pork chop was delicious. Excellent food And all for a very reasonable price. Really friendly attentive staff, and lovely coffee to end the afternoon. Can't wait to go back next time we're over that way.

Plucked this place out as it was on route to somewhere we were going later and picked a winner! On arrival the lady who I presume was the manager noticed I had a hot water bottle and immediately offered to get me a harder chair as I explained my back had gone into spasm. The dinner was lovely. Plentiful, well cooked and presented and good choices different than many pubs offering boring standard pub grub. Prices were also very good. Desert was also excellent.Toilets clean and well maintained. On departure they filled my hot water bottle without even asking. All waiting staff were attentive without being false and no one kept asking us if our meal was ok which made a nice change.A perfect dinner for my birthday. Thank you! We're looking forward to going back again some time.

Have eaten here many times and the food is lovely. The menu is varied and changes regularly so there are often new things to try. The Sunday lunch is especially good. The food is freshly prepared, the service excellent and the people are friendly and welcoming.

Close to home yet somehow we had never been there before, even for a drink. What a great find. A lovely atmosphere, pleasant staff, varied menu and great food. What more could you ask for? We will definitely go there again. We had a lovely table by a window tucked out the way so it was quiet and we were able to talk easily, always so important for a family meal. Thank you to all the staff there for a great meal.

We eat here fairly regularly and always find the food, service and staff wonderful. The lamb dishes are a particular favourite and the menu changes quite often too so there's new things to try. Excellent value for money

We are regulars at the White Hart but thought for a change we would book a table and pre-order the festive menu. Fabulous food and service, would definately recommend.

Sunday lunch with fantastic puddings. Nice setting and friendly staff with a good range of beers. Chocolate Orange Pudding was just out of this world. Want to know who I need to bribe for the recipe.

Stayed at The Holiday Inn Hotel but wanted to dine out somewhere local but cosy. This is just up the road a lovely quaint pub. Really welcoming staff and locals. We had a burger in a bun with salad and really chunky chips. The burger was huge. We weren't disappointed. The prices were half the price of The Holiday Inn too so worth a trip out.

We chose the White Hart to hold our mothers wake as she lived in the village in her early life. The management could not be more helpful during the build up. On the day the whole experience was exceptional. the buffet was outstanding for the very reasonable price. the staff couldn't do enough to make our visit memorable on this sad occasion. We cannot recommend this venue highly enough, well done to you all.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Very tasty meat, well cooked vegetables (and lots of them), delicious potatoes and lots of gravy. Service was good. And significantly cheaper than many of the other decent Sunday lunches in the area. If I had to mention a negative point then the meat was very slightly dry but it was very tender though. Would thoroughly recommend.

Looking forward to a lunch out with 12 friends!Because of the large number we had given our choices for a two course meal beforehand only to find they had no record of it! (Even though it had been given in by a group of people!)The lamb dish was served first, which by all accounts was nice. That was half eaten before any more meals arrived! I had chosen cod fillet, new potatoes and green beans. The whole meal was luke warm, the cod was dry and had several bones and the cold beans appeared when we had nearly eaten our meals. To top it off they hadn't got half the puddings with some being very disappointed!!Not a place I would recommend at all, a great shame as it's nice and local.

As pub menus go, this was in a different league. Ate there 2 days in a row! Superb value for money - food absolutely delicious and worthy of a top class restaurant (compliments to the new chef!), but the place has a relaxed “pub vibe” too. Best of all worlds! Highly recommend if you’re looking for cosy pub lunch at an affordable price, but with wow factor.

An empty pub has little atmosphere. The meal was disappointing. My wife's fish was tasteless and dry. The batter was good though. The garden peas were overcooked. Chips were delicious but far too many. Not a great celebration of our 54th wedding anniversary!

Lovely evening meal with friends. All the dishes we had tasted delicious. I enjoyed the Brie & pancetta croquettes for starter. The venison dish for main was so tasty. A bit more side veg would have been nice. Finished off with a yummy sticky toffee pudding. Thank you
