We were a large group of friends in the dining area for meal.and drinks. We pre ordered our meals and it was faultless all our starters and mains came out together pretty much, cooked to perfection. Jordan our host was a credit to the pub, he remained cheerful, organised and not flustered despite the number catered for. This pub is a hidden gem it has a local feel but serves great home cooked food with a changing menu.

This is a great local pub with great food Probably the best pub food I've had in years The family all picked something different I had an amazing lamb roast clearly cooked by someone who makes it all from scratch The roast potatoes was the best you will get in a restaurant true home made style and it was huge I'm child had the fish and chips which was amazing far too big for a child but you never know how big it will with some pleases And my misses had a shepherd's pie which looked amazing although she didn't share any so I cant tell you how it tasted Plus it's great to see a local pub busy and doing great food This isn't just fill a hole sort of food it is worth making the trip for even if it is a bit out of your way We walked but they have plenty of parking As we are new to the area it was a welcomed find for us And we will be back again

We pop into the White hart fairly often for a late lunch on a Friday. The staff are always very welcoming and the service is excellent. The menu covers a good range of pub food and is always of a good quality. Really delicious. The atmosphere is great - a really good local pub, but then we’re biased. We’ve been visiting The White Hart in its various stages, for over 50 years. It’s our favourite local!

Just had a Sunday roast here and it was excellent. Choice of beef and lamb and both meats were plentiful and tasty. Good variety of vegetables. Service was good with friendly staff.

We are so lucky that this is our local - it's a five minute walk away. We come here for food and visit another local to watch football. The food at the White Hart is literally through the roof - absolutely amazing. Very welcoming pub and delicious wines. We feel so lucky to be so close to it and treat ourselves to a lovely meal every couple of weeks or so.

My wife and I had lunch with some friends here today. The service was very good though they seemed reluctant to bring us our bill. Maybe they liked us so much they wanted us to stay! The food was excellent. I had the starter special of arancini balls, which came with a spicy mayonnaise. This was very good, came nice and hot just out of the pan, and really tasty. I followed this with liver and bacon, again very good through rather a lot on the plate. My wife enjoyed her pate starter followed by scampi and chips which one friend also had. . The other two had the fish pie and a ploughman's, again apparently good and very generous proportions. Only slight grouse was the door to the gents being very stiff and hard to open and the steps in were difficult for someone less able than I used to be. Very clean inside though. All In all our visit to the White Hart was a very pleasant experience. I recommend you should visit too.

We booked the White Hart for my Dad's wake. The staff were extremely accommodating and looked after us in the lead up to and during the wake. They were very informative of what they could provide and the options available to us. We were given a separate room to the pub/restaurant, where we had tables and seating, as well as a large screen TV to present pictures. They put on a large spread of food, from sandwiches/wraps to mini quiches and honey mustard cocktail sausages. The staff also catered for gluten free, no butter and vegetarian. We have dined here too and can definitely recommend the food. We will be returning again for food and drink. Thank you to all the staff who made the sad day for us that little bit easier.

This past weekend I celebrated my Birthday at the White Hart. Jordan, Hannah and all the staff were so attentive and went above and beyond to ensure I had a stress-free evening. Friends were saying how friendly and good the bar staff were, commenting on the fact they always remembered their drinks orders. We should not forget how good the food was, great portions and selection choices. Thank you to all at the White Hart.

Saturday afternoon ladies lunch. Food was incredible (you certainly won’t go hungry), with a great variety on the menu and catered for my fussy food needs. Really reasonable prices too. Really good flavoured gin selection (my favourite) and service was brilliant. Well done Jordan, you have a great team.

The White Hart is a lovely traditional village pub with a great beer garden, perfect for a family visit. Jordan and his staff are always welcoming and create a great atmosphere. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We have been having a meal after our badminton session on a Thursday night at the White Heart for many weeks now, I felt it was time to write a review as the food is fantastic, portions are large, even bar snacks and starters, we can definitely recommend the Ribs as a main and the Bake Field Mushrooms as a starter, but there are many others to recommend, The staff are amazing, very friendly and welcoming, particularly Jordan and Victoria. We have eaten at a couple of other pubs in the area and the white Heart is by far the best we've tried. 👍🏼

The White Hart is a local hidden gem, full of atmosphere, character and an excellent venue for a family meal. I had an excellent early evening meal for a party of 8x to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The staff were both professional, friendly and could not do enough to make this a pleasant experience. The range of food was plentiful, and portions are generous being very good value for money. My family and friends enjoyed the ambiance and food, we have every intention to visit again. Thank you White Hart for a great meal 😊

Just wanted to say thank you for a such a wonderful Mothers Day Meal!! Your staff were amazing, even taking our little grandson who is teething, for a walk in his pram, so we could enjoy a relaxing dinner. ❤️ Which I have to add was so tasty & plentiful. Cauliflower cheese is definitely a must, delish. Your desserts were yummy too, especially the baileys cheesecake. The daffodils given to both Mums at our table was such a kind & lovely touch. Fantastic Mother's Day meal at the White Hart yesterday. As ever the staff are lovely and super attentive. The food is delicious, good quality and I was spoilt for choice. The home made cheesecake was to die for!! My mum told me it was the best meal she has had in ages and she loved the daffodils gift, which was given to all mums in the party. Thank you for making it such a lovely occasion. We will be back very soon 😀

we pop in regularly for lunch (occasionally dinner) the staff are always friendly and helpful. food is good and sensibly priced (the ploughman's is great for lunch) they always have 2 or 3 real ales on and they are always well kept and well served.

Visited this pub a few times now as I have quite a few friends that live in the area, the pub is welcoming and serve a great beer! The selection of gins is also great! Nice beer garden out the back but you can also sit outside the front and watch the works go by! We have eaten here a few times and the food has always been good! Julie runs a tight ship here and I always feel welcome when I visit!

Having a dog I tried to phone ahead to check they were do friendly but they were permanently engaged. Website was no help so searched for dog friendly pubs and there was the White Hart. Excellent!

We went here for the first time and I thought the food was very nice. The pub is old fashioned and the restaurant area is separated from the bar area by a curtain. We went early on a weekday and it was quiet. I had the stuffed chicken breast wrapped in parma ham and my other half had the gammon. They were large portions and we both really enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly and non-intrusive, which I liked. I thought the prices were on the expensive side though - my main was over £14, so was similar to London prices. However, this won't put us off returning.

I often pass this comfortable looking pub in my travels and recently decided to go there for a light lunch with some friends a few weeks ago. Inside this traditional inn was a lovely welcoming atmosphere which gave us great confidence about our decision to dine there. We found a nice table which had easy access for an elderly lady in our small group and proceeded to peruse the menu.

Hoy no hay mucho en así que llevé a mi hija a comer, ya que teníamos que coger el perrito así, llamé antes y me dijeron que los perros son bienvenidos en el jardín y no había necesidad de libro. Llegamos en un aguacero pero pronto pasaron así nos en el jardín de la cerveza (vacío). El bar estaba lleno, pero la mujer que servía era eficiente, amable, rápido y encantador. Cogimos nuestras bebidas, ordenados desde el menú de almuerzo y un encantador nada - es demasiado mucho - Problema - camarera trajo a nuestra comida, generosas raciones de salchichas y patatas (chaqueta baguette y más bebidas) muy rápidamente. Nos hecho y polvo en aproximadamente una hora. En el momento en que dejamos el jardín estaba lleno de gente joven, niños, perros, gente jubilada, etc. pero incluso nuestro perrito descuide era calma como era el ambiente.

Popped in for curry night, 2 curries on the board as usual always different from the week before. Quality of the food is good as is the service. Good choice of real ale aswell

Greeted at the bar, there was 5 of us And straight away two tables for put together for us and laid up by a very friendly member of staff. Complicated food order was taken and all served as ordered. Would definitely recommend this pub for lunch, good menu and plenty on the plate.

I never write reviews but felt i should! We are new to the area and tried the white hart for the first time tonight. Such friendly bar staff, made you feel so welcome and a really relaxed friendly vibe in the bar. Will defo be back!!

On our visits we are never disappointed. Always great service, good food & welcoming atmosphere. In the winter the real wood fire invites you to sit, relax and enjoy some "chill" time. In the better weather the garden is fab and very child friendly. We enjoy the 20 minute walk from home makes the reward at the end more enjoyable!

Went here yesterday lunch time with some friends for Lunch I had a Jacket Potato with Prawns and my husband had a Jacket Potato with Chilli and our friends both had the assorted cheeses ploughmans, Lovely big portions and very good food and lots more on the menu to choose from, will definitely be returning to this pub - all the staff were very friendly

Five of us went for a casual lunch. It was very busy as only 8 days before Christmas, but the staff were unfailingly friendly, polite and helpful. The food was all extremely tasty, far above what we have got used to in pubs.Bonus: there were no screaming kids while we were there. :-)All five of us agreed that the grub and service was excellent, which is very unusual for us as a group.The only downside we noticed was a shortage of parking.

We've cycled past the place a few times en route to The Bull Inn in Hockley but after a horrendous mealthere and getting our money back we decided to give it a try! So glad we did!! Gorgeous food exceptionally helpful staff and on discovering the spacious beer garden at the rear we will definitely be coming back.

Decided to try this pub as had heard mixed reviews. Not a really friendly welcome and no ice or lemon offered with diet coke which was a shame. I had whitebait which came with a Tiny salad garnish. The fish was ok but a little bland, it was not coated in anything at all just fried .It came with bread and butter but that had big blobs of butter dumped on the bread , finishing touches could be much better especially as it was not busy at all so chef was not rushed.When the meal was brought the server did not say one word neither did the girl who brought our cutlery. An ok visit but we won't go back because we didn't feel our custom was valued.

From outside it looks so inviting and we have been keen to visit for a long time. The interior was warm and cosy. We ate here after the fireworks display on bonfire night and the pub was very busy. We were shown to a table which was tucked around a corner so very cosy. Menu was good although caters for a more expensive palette. Food was nice, we all had different things but tucked around the corner we were near the kitchen and the staff kept rushing back and forth which was a bit of a pain. Overall a good evening but not the cosy country pub we expected and expensive to eat there. I feel if your a regular you tend to benefit more from service etc.

Its a pub with a restaurant attached, small in numbers nothing too fancy just good value food. Hosts are excellent and welcoming and a fair selection of beers available.

Decided to eat here for a birthday lunch with relative and as they live in this area and we were nearby this was the pub chosen. We have eaten here before with mixed results but decided to give it another go as I totally know that there are good and bad days. Sadly this was a bad day! Lovely friendly staff and great for a drink but after this disappointing visit that is all we will come here for in future!Three of us chose the same, Steak and Ale pie with Chips and peas - how hard should that be to produce good quality meat and tasty gravy and good crisp pastry? Well so it seems very difficult! Pale anaemic cotton wool air filled pastry top, obviously baked and put on top of meat and gravy after heating meat and meat must have been heated in portions in microwave and there was a lot of pinging to prove this and the meat was for me like hard shoe leather and the gravy can't have been on the good side of a drop of ale! I left most of the meat and used the rather tasteless gravy to dip chips. The chips were probably homemade and that made me smile until I realised that some of the potatoes were not cooked all the way through! To be very fair when asked if everything was ok - I did have to say that my pie was not good and some reduction was made on the bill, but as relative was treating us I was not in control of paying of bill. Hubby also said his meat was not good and relative did not say much. I feel bad about having to be so damning of a local venue but is should not be difficult to provide a good meat pie!Not to return sadly! We did not feel like ordering desserts and I was rather hungry later!

Ate here with some friends recently. Sat in the restaurant part of the pub. Had the special which was fish, chips and peas (garden or mushy) for (I think £6). The food was excellent and great value as it costs about the same as the local chip shop. Great service also. Definitely be back!

This was a really lovely lunch, we couldn't believe the size of the ploughmans, we had one each but could have easily shared!!! Having said that I hate sharing food and this was so yummy I'm glad it was all mine!! The service was really nice and friendly, inside looked nice and cosy, like a proper pub, although we sat outside as the weather was so nice. Really nice garden to the back, not too small at all and plenty of room for children to run around and play. Would thoroughly recommend to all and hope to be back soon.

At a recent vey busy quiz night the pub's food was outstanding. The service was friendly and efficient and the locals were charming! The pub always has local ales on offer, so an excellent local pub.

We have eaten here quite often and the food is always delicious and the portion sizes are perfect. The staff are lovely and the pub has a lovely village pub atmosphere.

We decided to have a neighbours get together here as it us walking distance of our homes. As there were a few of us we were put in the function room at the back of the pub, our neighbour added the finishing touches to the festive decorations and it created a great atmosphere! We had a lovely meal off the Christmas menu and a very enjoyable time was had by us all! Thank you for making us feel so welcome, the food was excellent and good value! Would definitely recommend!!

My husband and I are here early before meeting friends for drinks. Staff were very friendly vas attentive. We both really enjoyed our food and the portions were really good. I had deep fried squid the sea bass, both were lovely. Husband had the mushroom soup which was homemade with chunky mushrooms and then he had the lamb which was delicious! Thoroughly recommended!

We visited today and the locals were very unwelcoming. We went to the bar to get a drink and order food, and even though my partner said excuse me, the three locals refused to move. They widened their circle making it extremely difficult to order. When we paid for our drinks, the tall local gentleman stepped back which resulted in partner losing some of the drink. Not even an apology. Wont be going there again!

We went on a sunny day ordered our food and drinks ,sat in the garden very nice, when the food came out I could not believe the size of the portions they were huge ! It was a very good pub lunch the ham on my ploughmans was thick & tasty & plenty of it with fresh salad warm rolls, pickled onions & pickles, + fresh hot chips not out of the freezer. My wife's chicken guijons were the same plenty, all in all a very good lunch makes such a change from pub chain food. Keep up the good work.

Lovely food. Been there before a couple of times strange little barman but the bargirls are nice beer can be warm sometimes and the choice of wine needs to be better nice decoration and like the log fire.

I was recommended to the White Hart as I was told they did good food with good portions and at a reasonable Price. I know the White Hart having live in the area for most of my life but think the last time I went there was about 39 years ago and that was my friends stag night! I went with my wife and two friends on a Saturday night and we were not disappointed. My male friend and I had starters main and dessert whereas the girls had just a main course. We had drinks before and a bottle of wine. The food was plentiful and well cooked and presented. The service although a little slow allowed us time to catch up with our friends. The waitress was very well presented and pleasant as well. In all the cost was a few pence over £91 which we thought was good value for money and we will return to eat another day.

After haveing only been there a couple of times for a drink.i thought i would give it a go for something to eat lunch time.I dont understand why the previous review was dissapointed,Or where you would normally go for pub lunch in this area.But each to there own.As most of the pubs in the area have been takern over by. The big chain brewery.s Pre cooked dung!! I had.a Nice Homemade pie.with homemade chips And could not fort it.i shall be back again.A Shame these type pubs hardly exist these days.

After having a few people rant and rave at how good the food is I thought I better try it out! But having eaten there twice now I can't see what all the fuss was about. I know there are a lot of locals who go there and I imagine mainly for the social aspect because the atmosphere is very lively and usually quite busy. But the food was very bland and uninspiring especially for the price! I can't say I would recommend it or eat there again. The staff where all very pleasant and attentive but I think I will stick to just having a drink or two there instead.

Recently been to the White Hart with friends and found it to be a lovely local cosy pub. The food we've had has always been top notch and a lot fresher and cooked to order which you don't get at the Bull in Hockley. Where the White Hart food may take a little while longer you know it's cooked to order and you can taste the difference between that and The Bull in Hockley where being a part of a chain the food looks and tastes like a frozen dish heated up.I would definitely recommend eating there both with friends or family.

Easily the worst pub dinner i've ever had, and the most expensive. I asked to see the manager, which was a waste of time, she was not a bit interested in what our complaint was, in fact she was very rude. i will never go there again, and will tell as many people as possible just how bad the food is. If i wanted a microwave dinner, i could have stayed at home. Maybe if the manager had been even a little apologetic, i may have given the place a second chance. I will not be surprised if this pub stops doing food soon, it won't take long for this place to be found out.
