White Hart Inn in Stratford-on-Avon

Had a couple of hours child free and came for a bite to eat with my partner at lunch. Both had the fish and chips and it was delicious.... as good as by the seaside! Couldn't have asked for a nicer date setting, not only are the views breathtaking but the staff treated us like old friends and made us feel so welcome!

Incredible views in garden , food was absolutely delicious , special bacon and hake linguini was amazing! and staff were very attentive especially Niamh who was fabulous !

Booked for Sunday lunch and requested a window table as we were taking my 96 year old mother-in-law and she likes to see outside. No response. Sent 2 further emails. No response. We went anyway. We won't go again. Although the setting is really pretty (on a hill, overlooking the countryside) and the pub itself is nice enough, it really could do with a good deep clean. Our drinks were brought out and the waitress had to prise them off the tray as it was so sticky. Our pepperpot was covered in what looked like dried egg. There was grease on the back of the booth bench. I always feel if this is the standard of cleanliness in the part of the restaurant you CAN see, what must it be like where you CAN'T see? Service was very slow. Not sure if they were short staffed or just had inexperienced waiting staff. Either way we had to get up a couple of times to chase up food, ask to be served after 2 staff just walked straight past us when we'd been sat for quite a while and ready to order, and also to request our bill. Presentation of the starters was very odd. 2 of us ordered Halloumi Fries. They were brought out together in small baskets on 1 board. So 1 person kept the board, the other had to put the basket on the table! I agree with another contributor.... £21 for two small slices of beef (shame as it was cooked to perfection), a couple of roast potatoes, half a carrot, a bit of cabbage, a dry Yorkshire pudding and a drizzle of gravy is a bit steep. So many pubs out there do a much better roast for the same price. Some even cheaper. As for the pudding.... Mine was great - sticky toffee pudding. Nicely presented and really tasty!! My husband's was a tiny crumble served in one of those small flat Christmas paté-style terracotta dishes. More crumble than filling. Ditto for my mother-in-law's ice-cream. Two tiny scoops in the same style flat dish. Both poorly presented. Both very poor value for money. I really hope The White Hart isn't offering an incentive (money off meals) for a good Trip Advisor review as I have read elsewhere. Not only is that an extremely dishonest practice, it's also misleading the customer and, I'd imagine, against Trip Advisor rules.

What an amazing experience. Bottomless brunch was fantastic value for money. Food was hot. Well presented and absolutely delicious. Service second to none, very friendly and helpful staff.

The best fish and chips we've had in ages. We went for lunch two weeks in a row, once for a full family meal and once for a quick lunch. Both times, the food was superb and decent value with the two for one on mains during weekday lunches. The fish and chips were amazing. We'd recommend asking for the thinner chips with the fish as they were a bit better than the chunky ones. Definitely going back!

We visited the White Hart for a Saturday night dinner and had a wonderful experience. Despite living locally, we had not been for many years and we were really pleased we went. The food was really tasty, the ambiance warm and cosy, and the staff were polite, friendly and gave you just the right amount of attention. A few of the items we may have chosen from the menu were not available, however, this was not a problem as the menu is full and varied, listing regular pub grub such as burgers, through to Mediterranean and Asian inspired dishes. This was also supplemented by a number of things on a specials board due to it having been Valentines the day before, therefore some items were left from their special set menu. We had Pigeon Breast and Baked Camembert starters, and Burger and Steak Pie (which came with the most delicious home made gravy) for mains. All were fabulously flavoursome and perfect size portions. We didn’t have dessert, but the choices looked good. We went with a Groupon voucher, which was a fantastic deal, but even without, the prices seemed reasonable and very comparable with other local pubs and restaurants. We will definitely be returning - with or without a voucher!

Incredible birthday dinner with the family with their epic BBQ sharer. The slow cooked short ribs were Soooo great. Meat fell off the bone. Burgers, sausage and all the accompaniments were perfect. The entire family left full, and with some to take home. Service was exemplary (and I work in the industry!) Pubs like this deserve all your support, honest, true to themselves and delivering something amazing. We will be back for sure, probably for their seafood broil 😍

Well looked after for my 50th birthday celebration. I found this place on Tripadvisor as it was approximately equidistant for all the family to congregate. Bit of a gamble but we completed lucked out. Great quality food, well kept purity brewery ales and very friendly helpful service. We will definitely meet here again for family get togethers and celebrations! 😀👍🍺🎂

We went here as a group of six and a dog for a Sunday birthday lunch. We pre -ordered the fish boil for two people and added some potatoes, chorizo and sweetcorn into the order. It was massive and actually three of us ended up sharing that and we were still stuffed. We had a side order of chips which were actually exceptional in themselves. The other three folks had a Sunday roast dinner and all plates were empty. The atmosphere was great and the staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive even though we were being noisy (not in a bad way I hasten to add) just feeling relaxed and having great fun for a birthday. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and we will be back for the fish bake for sure! You have to order that 72 hours before by the way so its worth mentioning here. We went on a rainy day and there was a roaring fire but there were lots of chairs and tables outside and stunning views so a good venue for summer days too. I learnt about this place from a food blogger and I'm glad I took her tip. Absolutely not your characterless chain restaurant and it's so great to support these few remaining family places with individuality, passion and pride.

We waited over half an hour for our main meal although we had pre-ordered. I couldn't cut my ham as it was so tough and it was impossible to eat. We then waited a considerable time for dessert although they were delicious when we finally got them. the place was full with only 2 witnesses. We won't be returning

Absolutely outstanding Sunday Roast! Visited as a group of 10 with a range of adults and teens (and Buddy the dog). Outstanding and attentive service from the staff. Amazing food, we ordered several roast sharing platters and a couple of extra yorkies (and extra gravy) ans it was just amazing. The portions were plentiful, the Yorkshire puddings were fabulous and everything was well cooked and beautifully presented. We went and sat in the garden (outstanding views over the countryside) to eat pudding which were also really good quality and great portion sizes. Looking forward to going back. Thank you to the team.

I discovered the White Hart online as I was looking for fish and chips for my French son . I booked online and arrived to a lovely setting. Unfortunately the weather was not good. But the Pub has a great beer garden overlooking Leamington Spa . Lunch was great fish was lovely with an excellent light crispy batter and amazing large chips . All in all a great meal. We went for lunch and then were so impressed we went back for dinner with a friend and her dog. The food is freshly cooked and an excellent mix of traditional pub food, tapas and more gastropub dishes. Excellent wine and beer are available too. It’s worth a drive to, it’s a gem

This is the perfect place to hide for a beer and sit in peace. I have eaten here and it was really good. The landlady is lovely and the view from outside is amazing. Am looking forward to many visits when the nights get longer.

A lovely location and a great venue. A warm welcome and the Sunday dinner was delicious. Good home cooked food. They understood our family needs for a table tucked away and were happy to adjust the menu for our daughter who is autistic.

We wanted an overnight stop in our campervan en route from our home in mid Wales to Cambridge. We found the White Hart on the Campercation website. The food was delicious. (Steak and Guinness pie, slow cooked pork, sticky toffee pudding.) The amber ale was very good too. Charlotte looked after us, she was charming and professional. The car park is flat, wasn't crowded and there was no road noise overnight. A lovely experience on our travels. Thanks.

Came in for a Sunday Lunch with family for my grandma's birthday. Excellent friendly service from Rachel, food came out in good time and was great (roast pork belly was especially tender!) Everyone seemed happy with their meal so all in all, a lovely experience.

Visited a few weeks back to try out the new breakfast menu that has been recently introduced. As much as I love this pub for lunch and dinner time, unfortunately the breakfast really wasn't great. The Full English was very 'cheap'. In terms of the skinny low quality sausages and grizzly fatty bacon, it was more so something I'd get from a greasy truck stop than a gorgeous country pub, The egg was cremated and black on the under side and the toast was warm bread. I was quite surprised and disappointed as I know this is not the normal standard of The White Hart. As for the rest of my party, they ordered the Eggs Florentine and Eggs Benedict - again we didn't love it. My Eggs Benedict was just cheap packet ham, on an anaemic English muffin with an overcooked, non runny egg on top. It was barely warm. Same with the Eggs Florentine. Real shame as I have visited this pub on countless occasions, the staff are always lovely and welcoming, but the breakfasts needs some tweaking! 1) Better quality ingredients. 2) Temperature of the food - should be piping hot when served. 3) Properly toasted bread/English muffins! 4) Presentation could be so much better. Lunch and dinners always look incredible, so I know the breakfasts can match that normal standard too! I'd love to give the breakfast menu another try in the near future, so I really hope the above points can be taken into consideration!

Picked this pub as it was halfway house meeting friends from London. Great Sunday lunch with a nice choice. The sirloin was pink as requested and the boys were happy with their crispy pork belly. The Yorkshire puddings were huge and extra gravy was forthcoming. Friendly service and good prices as well!

Visited here last week for my birthday and to complete a bucket list entry of the "seafood boil" which did not disappoint!!! The service was brilliant and welcoming, cute little pub/restaurant. 4 of us had 2 seafood boils, and then a 2 others had a steak and a fish pie. The boil whilst being expensive had a great range of fish and was cooked to perfection, it was divine! Would definitely recommend for people to go and try and I believe the view in the summer will also be picturesque. Only suggestion I have is bibs for the messyness! I really love this place. The scenery is stunning! Great place to enjoy some fresh air and perfect location to see a sunset. Dogs are welcome both outside and inside the restaurant. Lovely staff. We had a lovely peaceful lunch here on a monday lunchtime. Good choice, even tapas options and very reasonably priced. We were inside, very cosy, but outside must be wonderful in the summer. Can see for miles.

Went for Sunday roast (as we have many times before). Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and tasty food. We had the beef roast which arrives promptly at always hits the spot. Will be going again before the new year!

A personal favourite of ours this place and worth the visit before we set off on a long journey down south to visit relatives. We stopped in for some lunch and we wasn’t disappointed… I had the cod fish finger sandwich and my wife the club sandwich. The food tasted unreal, service was fantastic, very attentive to us. Every time we come we always have a fabulous time and are so well looked after and it’s why we keep coming back. Highly recommend!
