In the midst of the craziness of Leicester Square, The Londoner is a seriously cool spot. First class meeting rooms and service. The lunch in Whitcomb's was the highlight of the day though. We went for the 2 course express lunch and it was absolutely delicious. Restaurant team were efficient, knowledgeable and warm. Highly recommend.

The food here is fantastic. A special shoutout to the chef for the pan fried sea bass - it was cooked to perfection and incredibly delicious. It was most certainly the best sea bass I had ever eaten. Very attentive and friendly service as well.

I decided to try here on a Sunday night: the room very much seems like it is just a corner room of a hotel but the food and service were great;only had two courses (snails with nduja butter followed by pan fried sea bass with chips (which were infinitely better than the average chip served in restaurants these days) but both were very good. Service was also excellent: I doubt I will ever stay at The Londoner but if I’m looking for something to eat in this area, id definitely think about going back here.

I am addressing those who intend to book through TheFork taking advantage of the discount by exchanging Yums. Stay away as these scammers because of they canceled my reservation, with only two hours notice, with a simple email and not via The Fork app. This is to avoid any sanctions, but I have already taken steps to report their incorrect behavior.

This is my second time and I'm really impressed with all Aspects. Very comfortable seating. Airy attractive room, lighting just right and you can hear yourself and your guests speak. Amazing service. Clever mouth watering menu with creative quirks that work seamlessly I tasted everyone's dishes and all were Absolutely delicious. My only aside is that the chef needs to lighten up on the amount of salt used and some of the desserts are a bit too fussy. The crumble though was stunning. If you're seeing a play or movie in the area this is a must for before or after meal. 🌻🪷

Worst dining experience so far. We booked a table for Valentine's Day, and it was the worst possible choice, we really regretted it. Terrible service with an unpleasant hostess who was serving at the same time. We certainly arrived a few minutes late (impossible to contact them to notify them because they don't answer the phone) but not a smile, no friendliness. We were then seated at a table next to each other without any privacy and all this in a dark atmosphere as the light barely illuminated our tables. Then comes the meal... a starter and then a 1.5 hour wait to get what's next, our table neighbors had the same experience and had to stay in this restaurant for 3 hours in order to get through their endless evening, Other neighbors even left without having eaten because the wait was so long. Understaffed, the evening team was constantly in a rush and had the luxury of being unpleasant. We left this dinner frustrated before dessert because there was concrete abuse there. For this price we expect at least a minimum of consideration. Food was just ok. Thank you all the same to Louise who took over the service and who was the most professional and friendly during this long evening. To avoid, we are also very surprised by the number of positive reviews.

To start, let me be clear the food here is good and what you'd expect for the price. Unfortunately there are many other places within walking distance where the food is good, and at those you will get a matching level of good service. The service here really let it down. We had most our courses come out whilst our dirty dishes were still on our table. The waiter with the tray of food would stand around waiting for another waiter to come over, remove the dirty dishes and then find new sets of cutlery. The whole time we can see our food standing next to the table. The waiters predominantly spoke on whispers making it extremely hard to hear them. Lastly when the bill came the waiter asked if we wanted a card machine and said he would be right back with it. Around 15 minutes later with no sight of our waiter we had to flag down another one to pay. This is already after having to flag down someone to bring the bill, which was not easy given how rarely it felt like a waiter was anywhere close to the table. Unfortunately, the food here although good is nothing to shout about compared to the rest of the good food in London and I won't be going back considering the other experiences I can get at a similar price point.

We visited this place last week, it was very nice ambience with nice music & Wonderful staff , our waitress was olha . She really took good care of us , really appreciate his professional service, I my self as a waiter learnt something new from her.😆

This is a nice restaurant away from the hussle and bussle that is Leicester Square. The service was fine although a little intrusive at times as was the background music. Our starters were a bit bland and overpriced (e.g. £7 for small basket of bread). Likewise our mains were quite small but were very well executed and actually very tasty indeed. Overall, it's a reasonable place to dine if you are in the area but there's definitely room for improvement.

The setting of the restaurant is fabulous as is the cuisine served there. Impeccable welcome and service. Ideal place for a romantic dinner.

I expected something more for the price. Good quality. Steak tartare has nothing to do with the authentic one.

We had a lovely Christmas lunch at this restaurant. It was very pleasant. The tables are placed a bit too close one to another but I guess it was Christmas. Special mention to Joy.

An exceptional lunch experience at the luxurious Whitcomb’s. Perfect venue to entertain and our experience was made so memorable from Olivier’s attentive service. I really appreciate his great spirit. He does this venue proud.

Amazing food and excellent service. Awin was amazing. The food is to die for and the service had a good cadence so it didn't take forever to have a top notch meal. I am a huge fan. We always go to Whitcomb's when in London.

We love Whitcomb's. We visited again today and had an incredible experience. The food is wonderful and the service is impeccable. Awin was our server and he took excellent care of us. Everything was delicious. Highlights included the Sea Bass, Green Bean Salad, Burrata, Risotto and Calamari. We come everytime we are in London and are never disappointed! Highly recommend! I also loved that we were able to get in and out in about 90 minutes while having an amazing, high quality meal with excellent service. A true rarity. I'm sure you can drag it out longer if you wanted to, but this was perfect for what we were looking for.

The experience in overall was great. Definitely recommend for a night out with your mates. The atmosphere is very nice and trendy. The food was good: the risotto was buttery and you could taste the truffle (compared to other restaurants), the tortellini were surprising with a mix of oil and acid touches. In general, great textures and a good combination of flavors but some dishes were not worth the price. The service was a bit slow (waited for more than 40minutes to get the main dish after the starters).

We walked in , were seen by the staff , and showed the table , but we said no but did find a table , for us the music was a bit loud , and so was the people , and it is a bit too dark, we was a bit disappointing wen our food came as we could not see the colour of the flowers , all that work the chef did and we could no see , the food was good , well as for 5* toilet that is some thing else worm toilet seat that is a first , and hand towels to dry your hand

I had a lovely dinner with colleagues. Food was delicious and nice wine. The lamb chops were perfect.

Breakfasts: Good options. Fresh fruit etc avocado salmon, english breakfast. Dinner: calamari was excellent! Among some of the tops. Light and flaky. Sea bass was excellent. Risotto amazing. Lobster linguine was good as well!!!

Overall experience was 10/10. Exceptional design and location, luxury interior with a friendly atmosphere, food was balanced and flavourful. We got the theatre menu. Would definitely return.

Fantastic restaurant located in a very grand hotel. This is by far the best restaurant I have been to in the last 6 months. Every dish was perfectly prepared and the service was brilliant. Ordered the calamari, baby chicken, fish tortellini and the Bailey's tart. I cannot fault any of it. Will definitely be returning!

This restaurant is situated inside the Londoner Hotel, for me the most beautiful boutique hotel that I found in London. The staff is very well knowledge, and service is very attentive. The food was well presented and full of flavour. Cocktails are very simple presented and very tested. Dessert is to die for, just explosion of flavour in your mouth from the start to the end. I very recommend it, is a good culinary experience.

Luxury and high end quality of food and presentation

A surprisingly great experience, the food is so well done that I can't criticise it. I usually can about these things. Ingredients were great, everything was fresh and it was mixed together to subtle perfection of the way the ingredients balance each other and where cleverly done. The food was even better than I expected, even with the high ratings on here. The service was so friendly and they genuinely did everything they could to be kind and helpful. It's a bit of a ghost town on a Sunday evenings so I can't recommend it for that, but I'm guessing it's busy at other times.

Breakfast at Whitcomb’s was a perfect way to begin every day in London. Every morning began with a friendly greeting by Olivier, and the entire staff provided a warm welcome and impeccable service. The buffet was far above any typical hotel buffet. It was comprised of fresh pressed juices, French pastries, charcuterie, French yogurts, tropical fruits, and more. Then there were the hot entrees, also included. Even the simple scrambled eggs were extraordinarily delicious. The eggs Benedict had a lightly truffled Hollandaise. And the coffees were exactly as ordered. The perfect start to any day is at Whitcombs! A gem of a place.

Friendly efficient staff. Consistant food and service welcoming environment for a single traveller. Omelette was quick and lovely. Benedict with crispy pancetta and Truffle hollandais was relish. Ripon was a lovely server who was fast, efficient, and greeted me with a lovely smile of recognition each morning. Rare! From the maître de and hostess to the servers…. were great in the bustling morning breakfast service.

We visited for both lunch and dinner during our trip. Food was exceptional and hospitality was the best we've experienced on our trip!

Had a really enjoyable time, amazing food, and great service. Would really recommend this place for anyone looking for somewhere warm, relaxed, and away from the hustle and bustle of Leicester Square. Lastly, I would be remiss to not mention one of the managers at the restaurant, Agon (apologies, if I misspelled their name), who really went above and beyond to make sure our experience was worthwhile.

Such a beautiful restaurant with great French cuisine we tried a lot of the food and all the dishes we tried were really well made ! Especially the sea bass and the mushroom risotto was incredible along side the king prawns my personal favourites . We loved barbara her service was amazing !! 😇

Been here a couple of times now, the food and service are flawless. Only thing I'd say is a shame is that it's always been quiet so not much of an 'atmosphere'. I recommend using the toilets if you get the chance! :)

Amazing spot - Olivier was the perfect host for every single day I was visiting the restuarant during my stay at the Londoner. He remembered my name, my coffee idiosyncrasies, and truly created a warm and inviting experience. I will absolutly return to the hotel but more specifically to Whitcombs to reconnect with Olivier.

We discovered this restaurant a year ago and it’s become by far our favourite restaurant in London. It’s just a 10/10 in every aspect you can think of. The place is very elegant and the atmosphere is something else (especially when there’s the pianist playing and singing live). The service is absolutely outstanding, they take care of every single detail and waiters are very well trained on fine dining service (special mention to Ripon who was our waiter last time and he was the absolute best and kindest! And to Olivier, the lunch manager who we met towards the end of our lunch). And food is just out of this world, you can pick any dish from the menu and you won’t go wrong but I can’t recommend enough the mushroom risotto, the filet mignon and their layered potato fries. Also, they used to serve some bread with chicken butter that was absolutely amazing! Unfortunately they don’t serve it anymore but we hope they add it to the menu!

Excellent service from the waitress who was delightful, however as willing as I am to pay close to £20 for a (delicious) mushroom risotto in a centrally located fine restaurant, I am not happy when it comes out as barely even a starter sized portion and leaves me still ravenous afterwards.

The food is very fancy and tasty. You can eat it with your eyes. They have nearly everything what you can imagine for drink even camomile. The cherry on top was superb waitress Barbara which helped us a lot food and local tips.

Difficult to understand the positive reviews for this place. The food was distinctly underwhelming - small portions and very ordinary ingredients. I left hungry. However the worst aspect was the service which, though friendly, was hopelessly incompetent (15% surcharge notwithstanding). For example, we were asked to order desserts immediately, together with our starters and mainsz and the server was surprised when I asked if we could order them later instead. We then had to order them before our mains were cleared away. Drinks took ages to arrive, sparkling water was brought instead of still (both at £6.30 with service), the wine list is only an approximation of what is actually available, and the wine was served much too warm. All small issues in themselves but there was a general strong impression that the staff simply had no idea what they were doing, which made the while experience much less enjoyable and relaxing than it should have been. We regularly eat in leading London restaurants and sadly this one gets things badly wrong. We will certainly not return.

We dropped in for dinner on a Sunday evening and were greeted by a lovely hostess. The waiter was helpful with our selections. I had the sea bass which was delightful and delicious. My husband had the Wagyu ribeye steak which was a disappointment. Side salad was fabulous. Frites were unique and exceptional! Dessert for sharing was wonderful. It took a long time to get our bill but we were not in a hurry. We were definitely return and recommend this restaurant.

The food is delicious. We had steak tartar, beef carpaccio and calamari for starters, and fillet mignon, grilled rib-eye steak and grilled chicken for mains. Everything was cooked to perfection and served with a smile. The service is equally impressive, with friendly and attentive staff who make you feel welcome and valued. The waiters are knowledgeable and helpful, the managers are courteous and professional, and the chefs are talented and passionate. They all work together to ensure that you have a memorable dining experience. The restaurant itself is cosy, relaxing and comfortable, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is elegant and modern, with soft lighting and stylish furniture. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone.

Lovely service, food and atmosphere. Prawns were just absolutely decadent! The Somm was knowledgeable and we had some fabulous dessert. Met a nice couple and ended up hanging out in the Tavern, 8 Tooftop bar! Great hotel, great restaurants. 💯

The atmosphere and food was really good, but the staff isn’t the best. Our waitress had no idea what she was doing, she couldn’t answer basic food questions, and just named things to name them. I really think this place has potential, but they need to work on training their staff and finding their vibe.

We've been there (again) last Saturday at 10 pm (had a reservation). And again we had a wonderful experience. From the sliced pieuvre to the tarte au citron pasding by the lobster it was fantastic also the wine was to die for! Kids (teens) were happy too. My friend had as main the canneloni, frankly it was too thick but when we explained the issue. The team offered the exchange for anything but she was already full so they offered a huge portion of the beignets dessert (free of charge of course) and deduced her main. It can seems obvious to be heard when raising issue but it is not always so simple in some other places. Anyways most of our plates were fantastic, the atmosphere and the service are formidable. Will come back soon!

After enjoying a wonderful a la carte menu, we immediately made reservations for the pre-theater menu two days later. The service is excellent and professional. The a la carte menu is excellent. Unfortunately, the fish on the pre-theater menu was seared a little too hot....

Services and variety is delightful. As hotel guests at the Londoner for a week we had the chance to enjoy Ripon’s attentive, personal service.

The restaurant is lovely, decor and interactions with Brian our server were fantastic, a wonderful guy. However our two vegan guests who ordered from the vegetarian menu were served risotto with cheese on it even though the menu didn’t have it on it. This meant they didn’t have their food whilst the other guests ate. Missing items were not served. And audaciously after the meal was cleared the missing items were presented as if they would be received without their accompanying dishes without complaint. The food is great but the coordination expected from a restaurant was noticeably lacking. With competition on their doorstep offering equal fare Whitcomb’s lack or organisation will leave it out in the cold.

Fantastic staff but felt that drinks were overpriced. We had a cocktail to start our birthday celebration. Delicious as they were I was surprised at the very small glass, and we paid £12 for it. Also our wine was decanted in to a 500ml carafe yet we still paid £29. Portion sizes were small too although very tasty.

We had dinner at Whitcomb, The food was excellent and they have a sommelier who assisted us with the best wine recommendation, and the customer service above our expectations. Julio and the was very professional and friendly. We will definitely go back.

I chose the Whitcombes for special occasion and I really loved the warming atmosphere. The service and staff are Phenomenal! ( Bryan was serving us he is 10/10) About the food it was ok, we tried sea bass and Filet Mignon with frites & Epinards aux noisettes. As for us we find the sauce is too much, because of it we couldn’t be able to finish and enjoy our food ( I would say it’s better to serve it on the side and let the customers decide how much to add ) plus we think the chef want to give us hypernatremia😂😂😂 even the dessert have a seasalt on it 😅 but as it was a special day for us we don’t want anything to spoil our day so we chose to leave smiling 😊 Above everything I’ve never been happy about the 15% service charge I paid wherever but this place…they deserve it.

Be careful when ordering drinks at this place. I asked for a glass of wine and they brought out one about 4 times the size of my friend. It was extremely poor form. I don't mind paying for quality and I tend to keep going back to good places, but I won't be going back to Whitcomb's and you shouldn't either.

I must first admit that while I am no great connoisseur of fine restaurants, I've have had the privilege of eating at a number of pleasant places. Unfortunately I would not rank this place amongst those places. There are a few reasons for this which I will discuss below. First we begin with the ordering process, our waiter appeared unable to note down what it is that we had actually ordered with multiple visits back to check that our guest who had ordered a mushroom risotto had in-fact ordered the mushroom risotto (which eventually came out as a chicken risotto (?)). Further there was the issue of the virgin mojito, not on the menu but one may guess an easy enough concoction for a trained bartender to create, unfortunately out waiter again steps in to tell us that this is not possible for our halal guest, but then shortly after this information this unobtainable drinks appears. Eventually after what I might quantify as a long wait our food arrives, and it seems to have spend enough time under a heat lamp to develop a film over it. Further the lobster rigatoni has had enough butter placed into its sauce that it is breaking and fat is beginning to pool on the surface (note: I both understand and enjoy the typical content of butter in a french dish, this was above and beyond what I personally consider to be typical). After finishing our meal, and a short mishap of a sommelier attempting to deliver wine which was not ours we began our arduous task of requesting the bill, which took longer than expected to arrive. In conclusion, I rate this experience rather poorly because of the quality of the food, the ability of the waitstaff, and the myriad of mistakes that were made. I had great hopes for this restaurant, and for the hotel as a whole, which I hope some day can be met. Until then, I would recommend the wise review reader to stay away from Whitcomb's at The Londoner.

Food was good but portions were a joke. Chicken main was served literally only chicken, no side, no veg just a few wings and it cost over £30. Same sea bass, was served only fish with sauce...

Great food and nice staff but pretty dodgy process for dealing with classic cocktail requests. Happy to make things but not very transparent about prices; charge you £16 for the cocktail THEN add on for ‘special ingredients’ I didn’t ask for. When I queried their answer was unhelpful. Adding £5 for rum on to a £16 cocktail, when the main ingredient is rum, makes no sense! What is the £16 for then?!

What a perfect night. Everything was a 10, the waiters, the service, the food and even the restrooms. This is now my place to go to when in London. If you want to experience a perfect night, Whitcomb's is it. Love the fact that they serve non alcoholic wine in the same manner as the regular wine. Great with details. Loved loved loved it.

I would say that the food is nice, for the price it is a little disproportionate and in central London you could spend a little more / less for something maybe more? This isn’t to say that Whitcombs is not good, it has a good atmosphere, good food and service. The walk to the toilets is a bit of a trek so maybe not heels! Presentation of the deserts was beautiful. Also accommodating to Gluten free : vegetarian

Really good food, service was not so good, started well, went downhill after our mains came. No extra offer of drinks and had to ask for the dessert menu twice, then twice again for the bill, which took the shine off the nice food.

Excellent pre theatre dinner menu.

J’ai commandé un Risotto grâce à la suggestion du serveur très avenant et agréable, qui était succulent ! Le cocktail arrive était lui aussi très bon Le cadre est agréable parfait pour un Date même si je suis allé solo 😜 A tester !

The food was very good but what especially stood out was the service --> never experienced that friendly and good service in London.

Our Christmas dinner at Whitcomb's could not have been better. The Filet Migon was delicious, but what stole the show for us was the duck. Perfectly cooled duck with a delicious sauce accompanying it.
