Galvin at Windows Restaurant in City of London, Westminster

We were saddened to hear that this lovely place is about to close and rushed to enjoy a last meal there a few days before the final service. We ignored the truly weird psychodrama being played out at the next table by a couple whose relationship seems unlikely to last until that last service and gave ourselves over the the cosseting service, delicious food and simply amazing views. Galvin at Windows will be much missed.

Stunning restaurant with an equally impressive menu and staff

the lovely ladies were so attentive the food was utterly unedible. The chef had utterly butchered the food with tons of salt... like if this is fine dining, ill rather eat a doner on chips instead. The chef should be appauled by his culinary skills. I'm speechless..

wow! We had such an amazing time here, the staff really went above and beyond our expectations. The food was delicious and would certainly recommend for a nice date night.

A really wonderful lunch, to celebrate our anniversary, made exceptional by properly good food and even more so the incredible and genuine-feeling warmth of the staff - every one of whom effortlessly managed the perfect balance of charm and professionalism without any sense of intrusion. Unexpectedly - and pleasantly - relaxed for this sort of place, there's a very unpretentious atmosphere. People come partly for the view, I guess, and it was a nice touch when the maitre d' offered to re-seat us on the other side of the restaurant, at the window, with a nicer view - completely un-prompted by us, but much appreciated. Food was very good - a comforting and robust sole Grenobloise in my case, followed by a superb tarte tatin. Wine pairings recommended by the Italian lady sommelier were just about perfect. It's not cheap, of course, our main courses alone being the wrong side of £50 each (not unusual for London these days). If I were looking for any real negatives; well, it's located in the Hilton Park Lane, which is what it is, and that extends to the restaurant's lift lobby area, where a letter from the restaurant's name has gone missing and apparently couldn't be replaced in the same typeface... Inside, the room design isn't great and looks a little tired, with slightly scruffy furniture. Not to worry; the focus of attention for most will be the view, and - to a greater extent - your dining companion, good food and perfect service.

By far one of my favorite Michelin star restaurants… the view, the food, the drink and the services… sweet

What a fabulous evening and a wonderful way to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Food was amazing and the service was second to none. Alot of other restaurants could learn from Galvin at Windows. Have already recommended to friends. Will definately book again.

Booking was made in January two months in advance. At time of booking was made clear this was for a 50th birthday, even though it coincided with Mothers Day. Galvin at Windows were happy to accept the booking. After a month, Galvin at Windows, made contact to say that because it was Mothers Day they would be charging an extra £20 per head for a special menu (even though from the information made available it was just the normal menu) plus an additional £20 per head on top for the previously accepted window seat booking. At a simple level that's simple price gouging, which unfortunately might be expected from some lower class London restaurants for special occasion dates. But having accepted the original booking it's just unacceptable and dishonourable behaviour for a supposed fine dining restaurant.

Nice place, amazing view with delicious food.

We were on our honeymoon and this was a treat. We were treated exceptionally well. Looked after and nothing was too much. The food was absolutely brilliant. So much so we will be bring our friends here in a few months time for the experience.

Galvin offers everything we want from a fine dining experience! We first dined at Galvin in 2017 and are there at least twice a year, I can honestly say the food gets better every visit! The staff are polite and attentive, and the Head Sommelier Rudina is just amazing. She makes beautiful recommendations based on your budget. She is super friendly too, a wonderful person.

A top floor restaurant that actually has food/service as good as the view. A very nice surprise. Not one course missed the mark. I will definately dine here if I am staying at the Hilton or in the area.

A lunch time outing. We opted for the set menu....couldn't fault the food or service. I had the Eggs Arnold Bennett, my guests the soup of the day. we all had the hake fish for the main course. Beautifully presented, Sauces and final touches made it a very special lunch. As did our waiter, Thomas, couldn't ask for any body better. As for the place... a wine list to die for... the bottle I chose, a red Burgundy, cost more than our three set lunches...wonderfully served by a top notch sommelier. Oh and I almost forget...the view up there on the 28th floor !! Spectacular.

What an exceptional evening. We were in to celebrate our friends wedding, and were served initially canapé in the bar. Along with a lot of champagne it has to be said. Then, a seven course tasting menu paired with wine, which was truly a culinary eating experience beyond anything i have been privileged to experience previously. I’m a seasoned international traveller and foodie, this was one beyond anything before. Thank you to the chef team for the food, but even more to the front of house team for looking after me and my wife so well. I’m sorry I didn’t get names, but to be honest I spoke of interacted with several staff members and everyone was smiling, polite, attentive and could help. Overall five stars simply isn’t enough

The service and views were amazing. We had the 3 course lunch prefix menu. My only complaint would be that the omelette was overly salted and buttered — very overpowering to start the meal. The main course and dessert quickly rendered my thoughts. Lemon meringue was one of the best I’ve tasted.

One the most amazing experiences I have ever had in London. Exquisite service, food, wine and atmosphere with a view to die for. The staff are incredible and deliver the finest service with the perfect blend of being both friendly and professional.

The food was really good but it could increase the quantity of the food served at the main course. I recommend the salmon as a starter - it was my husband's choice, and it was the best salmon I have ever tasted. The main course beef is served with a mushroom that had an amazing taste. The service was impeccable! From the waiter who took care of us, to the staff that served the food and the sommelier, they were all very professional but warm and welcoming!

What's not to love about this super high floor with spectacular 360 views across Hyde Park and W. End, attentive table service, great DJs on a Friday... before lockdown this was the go-to of my girlfriend's and I to get dolled up and have a chin wag and be able to hear each other. Good for any season. Never ate here... the drinks were pricey enough!

Thomas the waiter and Roberta the best Coffee Maestro and manager and all the environmental management asweel including the fabulously atmospheric restaurants to enjoy a special and professional treatment for your loves one and family… strongly recommend this place!

Stunning food, service, and location.

Spectacular views of London. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The dishes were well presented, however, too salty for me and the rest of the party. I would still recommend and go again to celebrate special days.

Just fantastic. We had the taster menu and despite some of the large group having special dietary requirements they made this work. They adapted each course perfectly so we could enjoy the same as our colleagues. Service was impeccable. Would highly recommend.

Perfect way to celebrate two birthdays. Staff, food and view all amazing.

A comfortable restaurant a calm ambiance and nice views over Hyde Park. Attentive service .Sadly the cooking is disappointing and not Michelin Star level .Often dishes arrived too cold and were overcomplicated with a series of unpleasant sources or jus destroying any flavour of the produce. I was eating solo on this trip and had 3 courses plus a modest bottle of red wine priced at 80 GBP and still walked out with a bill for 220 GBP . Fortunately next night I had a far superior meal at The Atelier Joel Robuchon on Clarges St. for less money.

My experience at this restaurant was very traumatic. I was disappointed in the service, I noticed how many of the staff was Italian. I can speak Italian fluently and I can hear the racist comments that was made to myself and others

Gorgeous 5 course tasting menu & wine flight, then add a beautiful view on the 28 Floor. I was here for the venison, but the salmon & woodland mushroom courses exceeded expectations.

This lovely restaurant has become our tradition to go each year on our engagement anniversary. I’ve never been to a restaurant with a better service and kinder staff. The staff made our night even more special by preparing customized dessert for our anniversary. The food is also the best, you can immediately tell the difference between the food you eat at this restaurant with elsewhere. The quality , the taste and the presentation of the dishes were absolutely amazing. Needless to mention that the view is so stunning. Although this restaurant was a bit pricy, we happily paid our bill as the service we got was extraordinary. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who prefer fine dining with the best view of the city. And we will definitely come back again and again and again.

Restaurant splendide, une vue imprenable sur tout londres avec une cuisine de qualité et le service qui va avec. Mention spéciale pour le chevreuil et les pâtes à la truffe blanche ainsi qu’à l’after eight, quant aux entrées, elles sont bonnes mais n’ont rien d’exceptionnelles. Je comprends l’étoile et le recommandé vivement ne serait-ce que pour la vue et les pâtes aux truffes 🙂

Une cuisine à la hauteur du service et de la vue. Les pâtes à la truffes sont exceptionnelles, sans oublier le chevreuil ou bien l’After Eight en dessert. Un grand merci à l’équipe et surtout à Roberta, qui nous a permis de retrouver nos passeports égarés, ce qui nous a bien sauvé le séjour !

Joyful experience from beginning to end.

The whole experiance was wonderful. Everyone had such a lovely time. We started in the 28th floor bar, which also has spectacular views. In the restaurant we were lucky to get a table by the window which just added to the overall experience. The staff and service was perfect. They were attentive and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The four course Christmas day lunch was delicious. The lobster risotto was the best I have ever tasted. Sadly, the 28th floor bar had closed when we had finished lunch so we had to go to the bar on the ground floor, which lacked ambience and character. We left after one drink. This ironically highlighted how good Galvins at Windows was. We will definitely go back again soon.

Refreshingly brilliant. We really enjoyed ourselves, we did felt our service was a little too attentive at times feeling a little overbearing. Our only critique although we’re quite easy to please! We will be back!

Celebrated my anniversary here... Fabulous location at the top of the Hilton Hotel overlooking Hyde Park. Very limited vegetarian choice but the preparation, quality of food and wine, and the service makes up for it. Top tip: park your car in the basement of the Hilton hotel and take the lift to the top.

We had the Taste of Christmas lunch the other day and were somewhat underwhelmed. The view would be fine if its not raining but don't bank on your seat giving you access to the vista across London. The staff were helpful and efficient if a little neutral. Some of the dishes were lacking in flavour, especially the soup, whilst others had too much flavour and overpowered the main ingredient such as the pollock. The Christmas souffle was very clever and worked well. The room is pleasant although some of the tables against the veiled pillars are not good to sit at (we asked to be moved from one) and it seemed to be a bit noisy as more people arrived, not enough fabric to deaden the sound. We may visit again and see if we like it better but there is only one chance to make a first impression......

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Galvin at Windows, and I must say that it was an absolutely amazing experience. The sommelier was truly exceptional. They recommended the perfect wine pairings for each course of the Christmas set menu, enhancing the flavors and creating a harmonious combination. Speaking of the menu, I highly recommend trying the Christmas set menu. The terrine, Pollock, and comice pear were my choices, and they did not disappoint. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the flavors were nothing short of incredible. In addition to the delectable food and impeccable service, the restaurant boasts breathtaking views. Being able to enjoy such incredible cuisine while overlooking the London skyline was the perfect touch to an already memorable dining experience. I cannot recommend Galvin at Windows enough.

What a view and the food is good too

Went there when I was visiting the city and grabbed lunch with my partner for my birthday. We had a great time! Highly recommended if you are in the area for a visit!

The views are great, the interior is a bit cold and uninviting. The service was polite but got served white wine and when I said I never asked for white wine but wanted red the lady seemed surprised... The food was abysmal. The soup was average without any depth Nd the bread was topped with some pretend cheese that tasted like actual poop. The pumpkin risotto was terrible, no flavour with a rehydrated mushroom on top which was like rubber (why would you serve a rehydrated whole mushroom, at least chop it up first...), the pumpkin seeds weren't toasted and so added nothing but crunch and annoyance. The souflè dessert was also very average where they put an ice-cream through the middle making just a gooey mess that tastes of nothing identifiable other than sugar. Just a classic London experience where the food is over priced but the restaurant won't care as it will be filled by another trove of company lunches/dinners. I would never ever go there by choice.

Amazing restaurant that far exceeded our expectations. Food was delicious, well-presented and filling (our part of 4 tried most of the starters, mains and all of the desserts on their Christmas set lunch menu - everything was great). Service was also extremely attentive, polite, and detail-oriented - honestly one of the best we had in London on this trip. And the view was just lovely!!! We were sat by the window with views of Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. Highly recommend this location.

Had ok lunch. Checking the receipt when we got home was charged for 13 bottles of water! At £7 a bottle that’s a lot of water for 9 people considering some were drinking cokes and a bottle of Prosecco. One waiter mixed sparkling water with still. Overpriced for average meal

to end our 3 day trip we wanted to eat at galvin at the windows because we had heard a lot about it and had read that it even operated from a 1 star michellin, once we arrived we were nicely led to a table where we had a bit of a view over the city, we took the vegetarian 5-course menu twice. mocktails were okay, furthermore they forgot our drinks for 20 minutes and we had a course without drinks, we even needed to pour the water ourselfs because nobody saw that the glasses were empty 3 people passed by. the plates were put on the table while the table was not complete so it was laying there a couple min, throughout the 5 course menu they only asked for the 2nd dish if the food was to our liking, the jackets were simply pushed into our hands without letting us put them on. the food was good but not great, the dessert was definitely worth it. Too bad we expected more from a company like Galvin.

All round great lunchtime experience. On floor 28 atop the London Hilton. Great views over Hyde Park. Standard of service is exemplary. The whole setting is really good, the fit out of the restaurant is excellent although possibly showing its age ever so slightly. Food...

Part of the Hilton hotel in Park Lane and served mini portions of Risotto in mini bowls for people who are vegetarians, but did not offer other vegetarian options to go with the Risotto, when I attended the Hilton's global call with Simon Vincent there.

I have had various meals over the years at the restaurant together with a visit to the Sky Bar and previously they have been very enjoyable special occasions ( 21st birthday, Masters celebration). However this dinner for 8 of us to celebrate a colleague's retirement...

We celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant. It's very expensive here, but if it's a special event, it's worth it! The price corresponds to the quality!! . We paid £300 plus wine for three courses. The steak was incredibly tasty and tender. The waiters were fabulous, you really feel like a special VIP class guest. I will never forget this experience and will definitely come back here again! The view from the window looks incredible !!! Xxx

My wife and I wanted to end a lovely trip to the UK with a nice evening and dinner at the Galvin at windows. I would have loved to try the tasting menu but my wife didn’t have the appetite to go with a full tasting menu. Unfortunately there was no flexibility to let just me have the tasting menu. Considering that they fancy themselves being a high end dinning experience, I was very disappointed with their lack of flexibility. Food and service were good but management unfortunately not.

Great service,friendly staff beautiful view, food is different.Chicken was a bit dry(if you want succulent,go for Chicken milanese at Clifford's). The food and service were second to none in this beautiful restaurant, from the moment we were greeted downstairs to the welcome in the bar and restaurant. Enrico and his team were very friendly and attentive and treated us to a trip through the kitchen....

The service, food and ambience were outstanding. The one thing I would push back on would be the price. I believe the cost of the meal was overpriced. The restaurant lost its michelin star fur a reason. But, I would find at Windows again and tell my friends about the experience.
