I’d rate it as the best place in London for dinner! A perfect mix of high-quality dining with a casual vibe. The service and team are absolutely amazing. The oysters and Dover sole were the most delicious I’ve ever had! And desserts too… Thank you! 👏

I visited here for my birthday on Saturday. Wine was great as always, but the service was the biggest let down. Pushy upselling to try and get us to buy a bottle over going for a few different wines btg. The kicker was at the end when I tried to pay with cash. The bill tipped over £50 with service charge included. I had £50 in cash which covered the drinks and a tip but was a few pennies short of the full service charge. The wine waiter who hadn’t served us except for the bill was insistent I paid the remainder by any means possible and that the service charge was non-discretionary. Proceeded to get a card machine and dropped it on the table. Disappointed

We showed up at this lovely spot with two muddy dogs, asked for way too much, and definitely overstayed our welcome—and yet, the staff couldn’t have been more gracious. They were incredibly accommodating, never once making us feel like the high-maintenance guests we absolutely were. The service was top-notch, the wine was excellent, and the whole vibe just made us want to stay forever (which we almost did). Huge thanks to the team for their kindness and patience. Highly recommend!

I ate here today on a whim, searching for a solo birthday lunch location. The dining room is a wonderful place, dimly lit with curtained windows and enough tables for a good atmosphere but not so many that you're squeezed in. I chose to have the set menu. A daily changing three courses for £28. At the prices I was expecting tiny portions and not too much effort. How wrong I was. First course was a wonderfully peppery and acidic salad of lettuce with pear, cheese and walnuts all dressed with a light dressing to really wrap it all together. Main course was confit duck, beans and a salsa verde. Essentially a slightly elevated cassoulet. What the Chef could have done was just standard cassoulet from a catering pack, smarten up with a salsa. What they actually did was serve deliciously unctuous beans dotted with a wonderful green sauce that cut through the fat of the beans and the utterly sublime duck. The skin had been crisped to utter perfection and the meat was soft and yielding. Paired with an Australian Syrah at £13 a glass it was heaven. Sticky Toffee Pudding rounded off the menu. It's an often seen choice on many menus and is often a disappointment. This was anything but. A somewhat denser pudding than ive seen before, which was not unwelcome, served with a ginger sauce that was sweet but not cloying. A perfect sphere of clotted cream ice cream made for one of the best puddings ive had in many years. On top of all this staff were polished and warm, running the dining room with an efficiency that was great to watch. Essentially, my point here is that you should eat here. Now. Today.

It was recommended from a wine master and indeed the wine list did not disappoint. Reception and service was friendly and effective. Starters were indifferent, mains tasty, desserts disappointing. However, we were frustrated with the tiny portions that come without any garnish! You have to order extra sides, still in tiny portions. The bill is easily 100mpounds per person with a very modest wine choice. I would return for a glass of wine and a snack. Never to dine again.

The space is a little awkward and could be softened to match the semi formal authentic french food. No cocktails...and I so wanted a martini before lunch. Good value Armagnac at the end with coffee; it was a surprise as when we arrived I was told they didn't service spirits 🤔. Beautifully cooked food, although the duck was a little too salty. Some of the staff were a little too pleased with themselves as is often the case with out of work actors 😂. It's a little over priced for the overall experience; £434.00 for four including, three courses, 2 bottles of reasonably priced wine and 2 Armagnacs. Worth another visit. Jamie 🍍

Cellar private dining has to be done - but not too often! - Premium wines and fine French food that hits the spot. Champagne, Meursault white, Corton Le Clos Du Roi Burgundy, and Cos D' Estournel St Etephe for enders. That and Scallop, Duck, Brill, and more made up the fair, followed by aged Compte, cheese plates and the rest. A night to remember. Recommended.

I LOVED Noble Rot, what a great place! It has the kind of vibe you get in a nice but not pretentious restaurant in France or Italy.. with a cool modern London undercurrent. Staff were all awesome, friendly and knowledgeable about the wines & food, they took great care of us and the place is really cool in a "not trying to be" way too.. The menu was only hard to pick from because I wanted EVERY dish on it.. the ones we got were amazing.. a lamb dish that I'm salivating thinking about again, a tartifflette that put the French to shame and more.. they change menus pretty regularly I think.. The wines were amazing and I'm going to buy bottles of both the wines my wife and I had too!! I also really enjoyed the art on the walls including a Ralph Steadman piece, a nod to Fergus Henderson at the top of the stairs (I think) and loads of their own magazine covers too. My only regret is that I couldn't afford to order one of everything! I'll be back ASAP.

We booked late and didn't fancy the terrace on a cold day. The bonus of having a small table by the bar was that we were looked after by the Maître D, who was as charming, helpful and knowledgeable as it would be possible to be. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish - crab salad, ham terrine, roast partridge, onglet, creme fraiche tart and a Paris Brest were all exemplary. The wine list is outstanding, as you'd guess from the establishment's name. The atmosphere was lively and relatively informal.

Romantic, atmospheric and sophisticated. If you enjoy fine dining and a fantastic wine list, this is a great choice. I was a client of its predecessor Le Boudin Blanc before it closed, and was curious about its new management, and was so pleased with the wonderful service, beautifully cooked food and refreshingly dry wine. We started with the Scallops which I would highly recommend as a starter and their bread, and we shared the Seabass, cooked with a beautiful pil pil sauce and would highly recommend it! I always think you can tell a great deal about a restaurant by their house wine, which didn’t disappoint! It was the perfect accompaniment to our food. Visited the downstairs private dining area as a group of 10 mid week for lunch. The room itself is incredible, with a wine cellar directly behind it hosting a variety of vintage wines that really adds to the experience. The food; Starters: The bread was just brilliant, so much so that we had to order more. So incredibly fresh and the salted butter was to die for. The ham was another highlight, peppery and incredibly fine and we could have eaten a number of portions of this. We then also had oysters, almonds & melon all of which were really quite brilliant. Mains: This is where the meal was a little disappointing, most of us had the pork, although on reflection I wish I had ordered the duck as the pork was a touch average and came with an apricot sauce that a lot of us felt was a little sour. The potatoes were nice but nothing to write home about. The tomatoes were probably the highlight with the main. The Wine: You can't fault the selection of wines here, this really was the reason that we visited and we were not disappointed on this front. A great selection of white Bordeaux's of which we tried a number of different bottles. All round a good experience, having the private dining experience was very special but I just wish the food was more substantial, or that I had gone for the duck.

When she bought it, we found it was flat - not a bubble in sight. We pointed this out and were told this happens with some bottles - they are all different. In which case it shouldn't be on the sparking section of the menu. it looked to us to be the left overs from a bottle that has been opened some time ago. Not impressive to serve or to react in that way. The rose was taken away (without an apology) and we were charged for champagne - which was sparking but more expensive.

The champagne recommendation by the sommelier was ok but disappointing overall - considering how much we paid for the bottle this was probably the one disappointment Food was delicious - had oysters and langoustines for appetiser and then the Dover sole for our main along with cheese and an incredible lemon tart for dessert

This restaurant has a massive foodie cult following. It is worth going to. Went for lunch and found the set lunch menu to be soo good. Could have done with a little bit more steak but was an excellent meal and value for money. The set menu came with the additional sides: potatoes and salad. So no need to order extra sides. I will be back. Wine selection is 💯 The set lunch menu and the a la carte seem to change often. Worth going to try it all. With the house bottle of red. Lunch ended up being £35 pp including service.

After friendly welcome at the door , we were promptly seated and given “todays” menu. I ordered the pork, my wife ordered the pigeon. We shared a plate of sweetbreads for a starter. The pigeon was the nicer meal. In fact it was superb. The waiters wine knowledge was excellent . We drank wine from France, California and Georgia. Wine choices were excellent, but the wine service was a little slow at times. We really enjoyed our meal here!

Disappointed with the wine recommendation. The waitress seemed ill-informed which was odd. We came a couple of months ago and ordered the duck. Not sure if it’s still on the menu. It was £96 and there were about 8 small pieces. We were robbed. It was supposed to be a celebratory night which felt quite flat in the end.

Great on all fronts and especially so if you like your wine. Food quality and service definitely match the wine! Probably the best set menu in London and definitely in Mayfair.

What an incredible find, I wonder how more people don’t know about it. The food, the ambience, the service - top marks for all! We enjoyed all 4 courses - if you want to try something different, this is the place for you. The wine list is very extensive, a bit too long if you are not a wine connoisseur. Our server was lovely, knowledgeable, was there when we needed her but not overbearing. Great atmosphere all round whether you are there for an after work dinner or a special occasion.

Deeply disappointing experience. We came as a group of 4 to noble rot on a recommendation of a close friend and had booked weeks in advance. It was a mid-week dinner reservation, but upon sitting down we were immediately told by the waiter that they'll need table back within an hour and thirty minutes. We were given almost no time at all to select dishes and I've never ate so quickly in my life - I've had more relaxing experiences during rush hour commutes on the tube. Every dish that came out was flat and tasteless, the only redeeming thing was your wine and sparkling water menu (Vichy Catalan really does hit the spot), however it doesn't outweigh everything else. I've never been so disappointed to part with £550 in my life. Your menu, team and general environment need a complete overhaul. Avoid avoid avoid.

Good food, but please stop adding not so ‘discretionary charges’ to the bill, one is fine but multiple is ridiculous.

The food and service in this restaurant is outstanding. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The advice they gave on what food and wine to choose was excellent. The restaurant holds quite a few people but somehow feels intimate. If you are a wine expert or enthusiast (which we aren’t) the wine menu is 49 pages long so plenty of choice. We will definitely be back

Atmosphere is definitely ok, staff is very friendly and accurate. The seabream is perfect but it’s a miracle why they put a big layer of crème fraiche underneath the fish. The eel with potato and caviar was without caviar and almost without eel. Two dissapointing dishes! The cheese as dessert was perfect. But we are not sure whether we will return. Maybe when they hire a better kitchen staff…🥴

This was a first visit to the Mayfair location, after having been to the one in Soho a few times. This is a newer venue and it does have more of an upmarket feel, although we did end up with a very small table which required a constant juggling around as plates of food arrived! The two of us ordered the breads, cheese gougeres, sea bream crudo, beef tartare, the cod, the hogget and a side of cabbage. For dessert we tried the chocolate tart and the millefeuille. The food was mostly very good and in line with prior experiences however the hogget was a disappointment, being more bone than meat and quite challenging to dissect. Also, while the desserts were enjoyable, I thought they could have upped their game a bit here. Service was very friendly and the meal progressed at a reasonable pace. The bill came to £180, of which £15 was spent on drinks. Overall a solid dinner albeit somehow missed the wow factor I’ve experienced in Soho, where I’ve had some excellent meals. Will probably stick to Soho or try out the original Lambs Conduit location on future visits…

Came here for the first time on a business dinner last night and have heard lots of great things beforehand. Was very very impressed! The staff were absolutely lovely and friendly and very on it! The food was very good aswell! I had the pork which was very yummy especially the sauce it was served with! I also tried for the first ever time a non alcoholic wine (the lady I was with was pregnant and recommended it to me), and it was absolutely delicious! Definately going to go buy a few bottles. Will definitely be back again, thank you very much for such a lovely experience.

It's a French restaurant that I like very much. It tastes good, but the atmosphere is good and the service is good. ----- Cabotte is a French restaurant located in the City of London. Here are the main features and some hidden stories about this establishment: ## Background Cabotte was founded in early 2017 by two Master Sommeliers, Xavier Rousset and Gearoid Devaney. The name 'Cabotte' is derived from the small huts where Burgundy vineyard workers take their breaks. ## Cuisine and Atmosphere - The kitchen is led by Chef Edward Boarland, offering traditional French cuisine with a modern twist. - The interior, designed by Rosendale Design, recreates the feel of a French country bistro. ## Wine List - Cabotte boasts an impressive wine list with over 600 selections, focusing particularly on Burgundy wines. - Interestingly, 12 Burgundy wine producers are shareholders in Cabotte. ## Hidden Stories - One of the founders, Xavier Rousset, became the youngest Master Sommelier at the age of 23. - Before opening the restaurant, Xavier spent a year traveling the world, experiencing diverse cuisines. - The wine list includes rare vintages such as La Tâche 1978. - One of the two private dining rooms on the first floor, the Magnum Room, features a window into the kitchen, offering a 'chef's table' experience. Cabotte is considered a hidden gem in the City of London, praised for its excellent French cuisine and extensive wine list. It's particularly popular among wine enthusiasts and has gained attention for its unique concept centered around Burgundy wines.
