The food is consistently delicious and the staff are always willing to provide thoughtful wine recommendations. The Coravin list can be fun if you want to try some hard to find / exclusive wines by the glass. Strongly recommend if you love wine and are in the area.

I LOVED Noble Rot, what a great place! It has the kind of vibe you get in a nice but not pretentious restaurant in France or Italy.. with a cool modern London undercurrent. Staff were all awesome, friendly and knowledgeable about the wines & food, they took great care of us and the place is really cool in a "not trying to be" way too.. The menu was only hard to pick from because I wanted EVERY dish on it.. the ones we got were amazing.. a lamb dish that I'm salivating thinking about again, a tartifflette that put the French to shame and more.. they change menus pretty regularly I think.. The wines were amazing and I'm going to buy bottles of both the wines my wife and I had too!! I also really enjoyed the art on the walls including a Ralph Steadman piece, a nod to Fergus Henderson at the top of the stairs (I think) and loads of their own magazine covers too. My only regret is that I couldn't afford to order one of everything! I'll be back ASAP.

Absolutely fantastic. Seriously good value for money in this neck of the woods. Emily was great, super-helpful, polite, efficient and friendly. The food was outstanding and we’ll definitely be back for more. November 2024 update - we’ve just had our third visit to Noble Rot and are still loving this restaurant. This time we sat upstairs for dinner which felt more cosy and a nicer environment. Alex took care of us throughout the evening, giving us suggestions and tips on what to choose. Everything we ate and drank was excellent yet again. Have added some more photos of some of our selection. If you’ve not been here you’re really missing a treat! See you again soon!

Wine is a given. Food is a proper job. Tucked away in Shepherd’s Market, a superlative wine list and proper cooking at reasonable prices; excellent gougeres and a nice dry Spanish white; with a Vosne Bourgogne: Dorset crab salad; stuffed cockles parsley and garlic; great beet salad; scallops and cafe de paris butter; super pigs head, crushed white beans with green sauce; apple cake and calvados toffee sauce. Friendly efficient service in a traditional ambiance. Great lunch. No music necessary. Bravo! 🐌🐌🐌

We booked late and didn't fancy the terrace on a cold day. The bonus of having a small table by the bar was that we were looked after by the Maître D, who was as charming, helpful and knowledgeable as it would be possible to be. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish - crab salad, ham terrine, roast partridge, onglet, creme fraiche tart and a Paris Brest were all exemplary. The wine list is outstanding, as you'd guess from the establishment's name. The atmosphere was lively and relatively informal. If we'd opted for the set menu it would have been incredible value too, but we still think we paid a fair price for such a lovely lunch.

Ella hizo nuestra velada. Ella era un cinco estrellas de cinco

Romantic, atmospheric and sophisticated. If you enjoy fine dining and a fantastic wine list, this is a great choice. I was a client of its predecessor Le Boudin Blanc before it closed, and was curious about its new management, and was so pleased with the wonderful service, beautifully cooked food and refreshingly dry wine. We started with the Scallops which I would highly recommend as a starter and their bread, and we shared the Seabass, cooked with a beautiful pil pil sauce and would highly recommend it! I always think you can tell a great deal about a restaurant by their house wine, which didn’t disappoint! It was the perfect accompaniment to our food. A wonderful evening which has left us wanting to return and try the rest of the menu!

Four of us had a delicious 'set lunch' meal in a great setting. Unusual to have no choice, but fine for us. The atmosphere upstairs was calm and relaxed, the downstairs was more vibrant. House wine for £5 per glass in Mayfair! The only slightly sour note was asking for bread to accompany the starter, and being charged for it.

Having eaten at NR Lambs Conduit and NR Soho, I was looking forward to completing the triple and wasn’t disappointed! Maybe I chose wisely but I think my lunch was the best of all - Carlingford oysters, raw Cornish blue fin tuna and pantellarian capers, barigoule artichoke and stracciatella with hazelnuts (oh, boy!) and Cornish Cod with San Mariano tomatoes. Visited the downstairs private dining area as a group of 10 mid week for lunch. The room itself is incredible, with a wine cellar directly behind it hosting a variety of vintage wines that really adds to the experience. The food; Starters: The bread was just brilliant, so much so that we had to order more. So incredibly fresh and the salted butter was to die for. The ham was another highlight, peppery and incredibly fine and we could have eaten a number of portions of this. We then also had oysters, almonds & melon all of which were really quite brilliant. Mains: This is where the meal was a little disappointing, most of us had the pork, although on reflection I wish I had ordered the duck as the pork was a touch average and came with an apricot sauce that a lot of us felt was a little sour. The potatoes were nice but nothing to write home about. The tomatoes were probably the highlight with the main. The Wine: You can't fault the selection of wines here, this really was the reason that we visited and we were not disappointed on this front. A great selection of white Bordeaux's of which we tried a number of different bottles. All round a good experience, having the private dining experience was very special but I just wish the food was more substantial, or that I had gone for the duck.

My daughter and I dined in Noble Rot Soho on Friday evening and enjoyed it so much decided to lunch at the Mayfair branch on Saturday. We were not disappointed. After telling our waitress that we were sorry the Lobster & Nectarine Toast was not on the carte she requested it of the chef who said it would be a pleasure to make it for us.Pure heaven on a plate! We also had the delicious set menu which was followed by a further surprise. The waitress whispered to us that we had been given two desserts Firstly a freshly baked madelaine, warm from the oven with apricot coulis and chantilly cream. Then a take on Eton mess with the juiciest strawberries south of the Carse of Gowrie. Not only was our waitress professional and knowledgeable but surely has the true gift of hospitality. Our sincere thanks to her and the chef our visit was a true delight and we will return as soon as possible.

Food good , house wine really good, but inhospitable to a guest who does not drink alcohol, or mock alcohol drinks- eg no alcohol wine. It’s like saying-i don’t drink beer. We have here been before and enjoyed it but were disappointed this time. The waitress thought our choice of sparking rose as a pre dinner drink was good and told us about it. When she bought it, we found it was flat - not a bubble in sight. We pointed this out and were told this happens with some bottles - they are all different. In which case it shouldn't be on the sparking section of the menu. it looked to us to be the left overs from a bottle that has been opened some time ago. Not impressive to serve or to react in that way. The rose was taken away (without an apology) and we were charged for champagne - which was sparking but more expensive.

The experience falls somewhere closer to bistro versus fine dining. It’s busy, crowded and the tables are small and close together. Overall it strike a nice balance and makes it quite relaxed. Deeply disappointing experience. We came as a group of 4 to noble rot on a recommendation of a close friend and had booked weeks in advance. It was a mid-week dinner reservation, but upon sitting down we were immediately told by the waiter that they'll need table back within an hour and thirty minutes. We were given almost no time at all to select dishes and I've never ate so quickly in my life - I've had more relaxing experiences during rush hour commutes on the tube. Every dish that came out was flat and tasteless, the only redeeming thing was your wine and sparkling water menu (Vichy Catalan really does hit the spot), however it doesn't outweigh everything else. I've never been so disappointed to part with £550 in my life. Your menu, team and general environment need a complete overhaul. Avoid avoid avoid.

This was a first visit to the Mayfair location, after having been to the one in Soho a few times. This is a newer venue and it does have more of an upmarket feel, although we did end up with a very small table which required a constant juggling around as plates of food arrived! The two of us ordered the breads, cheese gougeres, sea bream crudo, beef tartare, the cod, the hogget and a side of cabbage. For dessert we tried the chocolate tart and the millefeuille. The food was mostly very good and in line with prior experiences however the hogget was a disappointment, being more bone than meat and quite challenging to dissect. Also, while the desserts were enjoyable, I thought they could have upped their game a bit here. Service was very friendly and the meal progressed at a reasonable pace. The bill came to £180, of which £15 was spent on drinks. Overall a solid dinner albeit somehow missed the wow factor I’ve experienced in Soho, where I’ve had some excellent meals. Will probably stick to Soho or try out the original Lambs Conduit location on future visits…

Loved the atmosphere of this restaurant, and unsurprisingly the wine list was fantastic. Our service was a bit spotty. When I asked for input on the menu our waiter said he had no idea because he hadn’t yet tried any of the dishes. We also went through a dry spell … we were drinking wines by the glass so that we could enjoy a few different ones and struggled to get our waiter’s attention when we wanted to order another glass (this happened more than once). The venison tartare with sun dried tomatoes was excellent, carlingford oysters were good, I then enjoyed the skate wing and my husband had the calves liver. Cheese plate was ok.

Had a wonderful lunch with calves liver and mash. The wine was off the charts as we followed Molly’s advice and tried a Santorini White…she was spot on, helpful and knowledgeable. Lilly was also great. The bill can be as big or small as you wish with a set menu and wine by the glass, or you can go mad. All in all a perfect lunch and will return.

Our second visit to Noble Rot in Mayfair, this time with a couple of friends. Duck agnolotti, venison tartare, hogget, and chocolate and brown butter tart were highlights, with good-natured service and great atmosphere, and a couple of very nice white and red Rhones. All in all a fantastic night.

The food was seriously good; only let down by the value for money for the whole duck between two. I suspect two standard mains would have been a better choice. It was still incredible. Service sensational and the extended wine list is well worth exploring and very reasonably priced.

I had the salt cod brandade for the mains and creme caramel for pudding. You would have to enjoy eating French food to enjoy the food here, and I don't. The cod was swimming in a milky jus, which made me nauseous. And the creme caramel felt like I'd been taken back to the 80s; it was such a boring dessert soaked in a horrid liquor-tasting sauce. I've rated this 3 stars because the cod was beautifully cooked but sadly ruined by the jus. The service was good, but that in itself is not reason enough for me to return.

Wonderful food, wine was incredible (as to be expected), and excellent service from Matt(?). Not normally a fan of Mayfair, but this was warm, welcoming and utterly charming.

Really superb wine list and lovely, friendly service. The atmosphere is also great, especially upstairs. My only gripe is that the menu is a little unusual and something of an acquired taste. However, won't stop me going back!

Shame on you Fired me for making complain against one of the chef’s? Behind closed doors 🚪 is a nightmare place to work. The chefs are above the law, they talk with everyone like a dogs. And let’s don’t forget , working without contract it’s illegal in UK 🇬🇧

We were saddened to hear that this lovely place is about to close and rushed to enjoy a last meal there a few days before the final service. We ignored the truly weird psychodrama being played out at the next table by a couple whose relationship seems unlikely to last until that last service and gave ourselves over the the cosseting service, delicious food and simply amazing views. Galvin at Windows will be much missed.
