My recent visit to Whistle Stop Cafe left me thoroughly disappointed. Despite bringing my own reusable cup, the staff refused to accommodate my request, displaying a clear disregard for both customer preferences and environmental concerns. Their refusal was coupled with rudeness and patronising behavior, further souring the experience. To make matters worse, the coffee served was from a machine, lacking the depth and flavor one would expect from a quality brew. Combined with inflated prices, the overall experience felt unjustifiably poor. Until Whistle Stop Cafe reevaluates its policies and prioritises customer satisfaction, environmental responsibility, coffee quality, and hospitable service, I cannot recommend this establishment.

Very rude man serving as pointed out by other people here. I asked if it would be possible to have some fresh water in my reusable bottle and was simply told 'no' multiple times in an abrupt, impolite tone with no explanation offered. The level of rudeness was simply indescribable. I would take no issue with being denied politely/compassionately, as the café is not obligated to offer this service. However, the man made me feel ashamed for asking, practically laughing at me for a simple request at an off-peak time. I would not advise to support this business.

Imagine being 50 years old and discovering the best cheese toasty in the world, or my world at the least! As for the service and the environment, outstanding !!! An old time station cafe with the feel and vibe of old time nostalgia and lovely smells of well prepared food and sandwiches. I loved this place, almost wish I hadn’t had breakfast because the one toasty I had would have been multiple. Great pot of tea too with a serve of nut milk when requested! Hope this place never gets taken over by bigger corporations because this is the kind of place they should aspire to be not aspire to close down!

AVOID! It's rare to meet a more grumpy and mean spirited staff member (owner?) Than the gentleman here! Haranguing people for daring to sit on their seats or move them is a disgrace. No wonder this place was bereft of customers with this attitude. Put signs up if you object to this. None of us would buy anything from here, even though we were gasping. Our taxi driver assured us he's like this to everyone and he has also had an altercation with him when dropping passengers off. I also see other reviewers have had a similar experience.

I took my sister to the station on Monday 16th March and we wanted a hot drink whilst waiting. My sister ordered a latte coffee which she said was the worst she had ever had, and was just frothy milk with a hint of coffee. My tea was a mug with 2 tea bags, boiling water and milk at the same time. It was disgusting. I take it the lady behind the counter doesn’t know that you steep the tea bag first, and the customer puts their own milk in. She was just so off hand . The gentleman who we saw on the previous Friday was more obliging. A little tea pot would be so much nicer.

We were on the Mon and Brec canal in a hire boat. I popped in for the Saturday papers and milk etc. The cafe was open and despite being in the middle of nowhere it was surprisingly busy. It was a great atmosphere and I was shown to a table and my breakfast baguette order was taken. I had a good cup od coffee whilst awaiting my order. it was an excellent small baguette, stuffed with bacon, sausage and an egg. It was delicious. Throughout my time there people were coming and going and it is clearly popular with locals as well as tourists like myself The shop was a busy post office and a well stocked small shop. A great find and not to be missed if you are in the area

Worst service I’ve had in years. Unless you want to be made to feel an inch tall for taking more than 20 seconds to choose what drink you want then just stay away! The place was empty on a freezing cold windy day and the trains were delayed by half an hour. People would rather wait in the cold than hang around with your rude staff! Do us all a favour....close the place down, get a vending machine and an extra waiting room! Thanks!

Came here in June and it was a thriving pub. Rang w days before our current trip and everything appeared to be OK. But on arrival, and popping in for an evening drink, we were told the pub was shut as "the Brewery have sold it". No apology. Probably explains why as we walked in, two guys were raiding the place of its contents. What is it with this place? It used to be run by a lovely couple, strict rules but always welcoming and accommodating. Since then it has bumped from one crisis to another. So unpredictable. With the caravan site just around the corner, it should do sufficient business to get through the quieter winter months. Even the locals now boycott it apparently as you never know if it is open. Please, someone, grab hold of it, know how to run a business and get it back on it's feet.

Visited on a fairly busy day. Waited 40 mins for food which was communicated to us on ordering at the bar so no problem there The fish was good. Crisp batter and tasty. The burger was not so good. The patty was dry and dense. The bacon was so overdone that it flaked apart. The bun wasn't toasted so the bread was really soggy from the sauce and the onion rings were saturated with oil and were tough and very overcooked. Our party of four all had chips which were luke warm and dry. They tasted like an old batch and we all left them. For £18.50 for a burger and fries this was very poor.
