Perfect pub if you want to experience a typical Scottish experience. Excellent drinks and food. Traditional music every day, big up to The Gorms. Thanks again to the Monday night waiter who made our evening so great.

The food was delicious; we also received complimentary dessert and drinks due to a kitchen issue

It's an "auld" style place, a great selection of Scottish drinks, even the lager is good for continental taste!

Arrives as often by chance, local decoration, local cuisine, local music The staff at the top with advice for whiskey PERFECT!

We had just been turned away from another place following an alleged misunderstanding (no, it was clearly incompetence on their part), and we were able to find refuge at the Whiski Bar & Restaurant. At first glance, we passed by randomly like little neglected dogs, and in the end, it was a very pleasant surprise. The welcome is extremely warm, small zicos in the background, very decent haggis. Honestly, they are kings. Only love.

A gem of a place in a great location with good seating and plenty of space. Food was good and of course the whisky menu was marvellous for the mindblowing number to choose from. The staff were absolutely wonderful and so very friendly, we (couple) had a thoroughly enjoyable early evening dinner. This will be a go to venue everytime we travel back to visit Edinburgh.

I thought everything was excellent! The atmosphere, the live music and especially the food! It should be noted that they have several gluten-free options, which was what I appreciated the most! The fish and chips are spectacular!

I went with my family, I had seen this place on Google before leaving. Very characteristic place.. Friendly and attentive staff.. We ate excellent burgers with chips... Different flavors and had 2 beers... Prices in line with others in this city... I recommend it

What can I say, it was super good, so cool 😎 plus, we who speak little English, we were able to book directly on Google. This is really great because on a Friday night we probably wouldn't have had a place. Really perfect. THANKS. Very nice waitresses too

Family atmosphere for this pub a little away from the old town or at least from the busy center. The service is very good, the staff very welcoming and helpful! A place that I highly recommend for a start to the evening with a smile and friendliness 🙂

Great place to get a nice introduction to Scottish food and life

First time up in Edinburgh alone for a conference and after getting out of an event late and finding most places had stopped food I found here. The staff are so lovely and got me sorted straight away, incredible atmosphere and brilliant food. The live music was brilliant, and just what I needed after a long day!! Would 100% recommend here.

Lovely bar on the Royal Mile with a good vibe. Popped in yesterday for a quiet pint & stayed for 3 because it was so nice. Friendly staff and quality Guinness too. Recommended.

I'd like to give a 3.5/5 but i'll give a 4 because the staff were nice and quick and the interior was nice (the toilet was clean too). The food's just slightly more expensive than i'd like for what you get but it's the prices for the cocktails i found a bit crazy. The fries with the fish and chips were way too thick for my liking and my girlfriend didn't find the steak pie that special. Would i recommend this place? i mean sure, but there are just many other spots around with equal or better food for a lower price.

We had dinner here and loved it. We tried the haggis and it was delicious. The place is very cozy and was packed with people, but I'm not surprised because the dishes looked delicious and the prices are cheap. I was surprised that they add a tip to the bill (as is normal in the UK), but they point it out so you can take it into account when paying.

Mi mejor mitad tenía salchichas de ternera con haggis - también disfruté de cada pedazo! Cerveza escocesa muy agradable Terminado con un buen whisky una desventaja - es en el lado más caro y el cargo por servicio del 10% añadido al final sin consentimiento. éramos demasiado tímidos para decir que no. pero el servicio estaba bien. nada que justifique un cargo extra

Dizzying numbers of whisky available but super helpful staff on hand when you’re going through whisky menu to say “ if you like this , you might want to try that “ so clearly knowledgable . Not cheap but the best things in life rarely are .

We weren't very hungry and we went into this bar to have a bite to eat. A bar with incredible service, live music and a very good atmosphere. We ordered a macaroni cheese and a typical Scottish dish which is the cullen skin (soup with various vegetables), it was really very good and the price was normal for being in the royal mile.

A cozy and lively spot in Edinburgh with live music every evening. We came here based on a friend’s recommendation. The fish & chips were delicious, and it’s a great place to enjoy a drink. Listening to traditional tunes during the live music session was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

Wow, the best meal I've had in a long time. That sauce, that tender meat. Great service, very attentive, friendly and really nice. Cozy atmosphere, great music. Be sure to come here and eat! My tip: order the Scotch Steak Pie!

Pretty decent experience at Whiski Bar in Edinburgh! The fish and chips were crispy and fresh, the beef pie hearty and flavorful, and the potato and leek soup comforting with fresh sourdough. Loved the whisky flight, deliciously crafted old fashioned, and refreshing gin cocktail. Great atmosphere, excellent vibe, good music, and an impressive whisky selection. Reservation for a table is recommended.

Over priced for pub meals and drinks and service added. Went to order at bar and was asked to take a seat. Ordered haggis which was nice but the price of food and drink is eye wateringly expensive akin to quality restaurant and cocktail bars not a pub as this is and service charge was added to bill which had to then be removed as ai felt the inflated drinks and meal well and truly covers the brief placing of a plate and drinks. Came away feeling ripped off maybe this is a mile thing.

£7.50 for a bowl of Cock-a-Leakie soup, which resembled dishwater with a few barely discernable slithers of chicken; £19 for a haggis tower, essentially some mashed up turnip and potatoes and a sprinkle of haggis. It was lukewarm and lacked any flavour. The whiskey sauce did not taste remotely of whiskey. You could have dug this lot up from your allotment for about 20p. This is clearly a tourist trap to feed visitors slop under the guise of Scottish cuisine. And to top it off, they were asking for a nearly £15 tip - make sure you check the bill before paying. Very disappointing. Round the corner there's Wetherspoons Alderley Station, which do far superior Burns fare at a tiny fraction of the price!

The burgers were amazing (we had the cheeseburger and the haggis burger). Great atmosphere. Great selection of whisky. Slightly high pricetag more than justified by the quality of the food and prime location on the Royal Mile.

The place is very beautiful! I only went for the cranachan and it's delicious! I definitely recommend it! You must also try the chocolate with baileys! Delicious

Remarkably average burger at higher price point than other local burgers. Table service was below average when compared to other local spots. This is certainly an option to dine in if other spots are full.

Pasamos por Whiski Bar durante nuestro viaje a Edimburgo, y fue una de las mejores comidas que tuvimos! La Torre Haggis estaba absolutamente deliciosa, perfectamente sazonada y bellamente presentada. Incluso si no estás seguro de probar el haggis, ¡este plato te conquistará! También teníamos el pastel de carne, que estaba lleno de carne tierna y sabrosa y tenía la corteza más mantecosa y escamosa. Ambos platos eran abundantes y se sentía como un verdadero sabor de Escocia. Para colmo, decidimos probar un vuelo de whisky. La selección fue fantástica, y el personal nos llevó a través de cada dram, explicando los sabores y orígenes. ¡Fue una experiencia divertida y educativa, incluso para alguien que no es un experto en whisky! My 3 friends and I had our usual Xmas lunch here. The service from the minute we walked in was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. My friends and myself will definitely be going again. I found this place during research for my husband’s and my recent trip back to Scotland. We both loved the atmosphere and the staff were friendly. They do have live music but it starts later so unfortunately we weren’t there during that time. The food was delicious! I really liked the cullen skink and this was the first place I’d found that actually had cranachan on the menu and it did not disappoint! They have a wide variety of drink options but I loved the whiski jack (be careful cause they’re dangerous smooth!). We will definitely be coming back in our next visit!

Nice little cozy spot, has a small bar with a good selection of whiskey and, of course, scotch. I had the Whiskey Burger and fries. Tasted very good with the bacon. Ordered a whiskey sour and old-fashioned, both were made well. This place has live music at night. The service was good, but some reviews did mention poor service and lot. My waitress was good, but a male server seemed kinda of pushy. I also had the sticky pudding with hot Carmel sauce and was nice and not to sweet with vanilla ice cream. Also, be aware that this place unfortunately doesn't take cash, and only credit cards. Another thing to note is that after 10pm, you must pay for all food and drinks as you order, no open Tabs, something I didn't like. Overall, it's a good spot to visit

A true Scottish experience with very tasty traditional food. The haggis was very good, as was the mac and cheese and Cullen Skink soup. They have a very large selection of whiskies, but I haven't tried them. I drank two types of very good cider instead.

Extremely good steaks and dessert and good service. Only problem was that it was cold close to the door, but the waiter found a table further away.

Underwhelming, overrated and expensive! Came here from friend's recommendation, had dinner order a few different plates fish and chips, pie, sausage and mash etc. The food is very average, somewhat plain so quite disappointing. Later return for drinks, the whiskey drinks are highly expensive, you can get the same drinks elsewhere for much less. However, the customer service and waiter are very friendly and helpful. Would not recommend this place unfortunately so won't be coming back.

It wasn't the high rating that pulled me in, but also the amazing photos of others experiences with an urge for Haggis which I'd longed for. There was a new twist on the national dish in tower form, and it was an absolute spectacle when the plate arrived in front of me. How the haggis and potato has been constructed with the sauce was a absolute delight, eating wasn't ony easy but well enjoyed. I'd gone back the day after and had the sausage & mash, and they don't hold back on the sausages as they were a grand size which most vendors should take not of as that's what the dish is about. However the great service was displayed when I asked for a whisky. Though I didn't know what I wanted the staff were able to ascertain my flavour profile and make suggestions of 2 different whiskeys, that were thoroughly enjoyed. This bar is a great place to enjoy time on your own, or with good company which you'll make with the friendly staff or other customers you'll meet. If you want a great experience of Scottish food and culture, then do swing by this Whiski bar! 🥃 😋

Y después de una noche en la ciudad en los increíbles Bannermans, Banshee Labyrinth y Legends, acostarme a las 3 am ¡me siento agraviado por ser rechazado a las 1134 porque van a almorzar! El menú dice claramente Menú desayuno servido hasta las 11 : 45 am El "menú de almuerzo" está lleno de todos los mismos ingredientes que el desayuno escocés completo. Imagina bajar £20 + durante 4 minutos en 2024 . Soy cliente allí desde 2011 y nunca volveré. El tipo detrás de la barra no era exactamente antipático, pero mostró cero empatía y parecía un poco engreído al respecto. Espero algo mejor de mi ciudad natal. Y lo tengo a la vuelta de la esquina en The Southern Cross. Hazlo mejor para tus clientes. Estoy disgustado

We found this bar on a whim on our first day in Endinburgh and it was amazing. 10/10. Food was good, live music and the food was amazing. More than standard Pub food. We came back a few times and the experience was the best. Look forward to coming back and sharing the place with family and friends.

Five stars for the atmosphere and two for the food. I had the fish and chips and while the fish was hot, my chips were cold. Husband had the haggis and he said it was alright, not the best he’s had. I had to ask twice for condiments. But the pub itself is a gem with delicious selection of drinks. We would come back for a pint or drink.

Was seriously disappointed. The service was overwhelmed and didn't really serve you if you just wanted something to drink. They also knew little about whiskey, wanted to serve whiskey on the rocks and no longer had any Nosing or Glencairn glasses. Very bad.

We had dinner at the Whiskey bar restaurant last week. The setting is super cozy. The welcome and the service were extremely warm...perhaps a little long between main course and dessert but there were people there so that's understandable. We opted for a Scottish menu: the haggis tower was generous and delicious. As for the cranachan tasted for dessert, what a discovery: it really is excellent! We had a very good evening. Thanks to the whole team

Amazing place! Staff seated us right away, we ordered drinks that came promptly. I ordered the brie and chili jam sandwich. Which was served on a tasty fresh bun, delicate lettuce mix lettuce, the chili jam was just enough the complement the brie, It was also under 10.00 which is great. The size was just enough to fill you up but not take leftovers, as we were tourists staying in hotel. I will be back to try more dishes when we revisit Scotland.

After a long and exhausting day of travel, we came here for dinner. We were fortunate to be seated right next to the band, allowing us to enjoy the music up close. The food was average, and the cocktails were decent, but the atmosphere was perfect.

Over all the place is great! Love the food, the service even though was a busy night was fast friendly and welcoming, there was also live music. the atmosphere of the place is so cosy and unique. Definitely worth a stop by for dinner amazing Haggis Burger
