Lovely pub for an afternoon getaway.

Very nice and typical pub with a mixed crowd. The lady behind the counter was extremely friendly. A large selection of whiskey and beer... Always a pleasure

Well worth a visit. Staff were so friendly. And the regulars were lovely too. A very warm welcome. Great selection of drinks. We didn’t eat, but the food looked really good!

Lovely pub along the front in a lovely little seaside town. Good atmosphere to watch football in too with varied age ranges which was good. Definitely worth a visit

A fantastic pub with a great atmosphere, popular with locals but visitors like myself aren't made to feel unwelcome. Known for the quality of it's ales, there's a great selection of popular and not so well known beers, all well presented and reasonably priced. It serves food, but I've not tried it. Recommended.

No food service, but for a true authentic British Isle pub experience this place delivers. Not crowded at all so my wife and I sat at the bar and conversed with the bartender while having a drink about the area, the culture, beer scene and such. A local resident came over to join in the conversation as well. 4-5 beers served on proper traditional cask as well. If you want a true classic pub experience this place delivers.

Great little Scottish pub. Wife and I were there a couple years ago while staying in South Queensferry on a trip to the Open when it was at St. Andrews. Came back on another trip to Edinburgh with more of the family this summer and it was the one place that was already circled when we came back to Scotland from the States. The locals are fun to hang with, the staff is super friendly and the meat pies were the best I've had in two trips to Scotland. The one thing I'd like to point out and give a HUGE thanks for is that we made a reservation for dinner several months in advance and the day and time we reserved was actually a time the kitchen was closed. They actually brought in extra staff to open the kitchen just for us and honored the reservation when they could have easily reached out later and said no. If around the Edinburgh area I'd absolutely recommend stopping here for a pint and some food. The little harbor is just a short walk away and views of the three bridges is worth it. If driving, parking can be tricky but there's a free lot on Rose Ln. - turn in between the pizza shop and Priory church and head towards the Firth.

Impromptu late lunch 3pm. Welcoming and traditional freehouse pub. Good portions, fresh and tasty.

Popped in for a few pints and couldn't of been made more welcome lovely landlady and a good laugh. Was great seeing all the American tourists pop in aswell from the docked cruiseship who also got involved with the banter. Just a great pub 👍

We were from a cruise ship and - instead of a day trip to Edinburgh (because we used to live there) - we opted to potter about in South Queensferry (a place we'd bypassed by train many times). Well, what a quaint little village! Since it was lunchtime, we stopped by a local pub - this one - to sample the wares. It's very local but the beer was good and the fish 'n' chips hit the spot. They have a "The Whisky Appreciation Tasting Society" meeting which has an interesting acronym.

Lovely baked potato with cheese, bacon and salad. Hubby had a black haggis burger, chips and salad, he said it was lovely. Great portion size. Very helpful staff, as I'm gluten free. Will be back.

First time here today and had a lovely lunch. Steak pie was amazing, full of tender chunks of beef in a rich gravy and generous portion. Hubby enjoyed breaded fish but will go for the steak pie next time.

Superb little place! Attended on Saturday evening The atmosphere was very old school. Absolutely loved it. Just a cracking little place. If you're into proper pubs, give this little place a visit. Sadly can't rate the food as didn't have any. But everything else was grand.

Great food, great beer, excellent service! The decor of the pub is beautiful and it's the kind of pub where you feel instantly at home and would like to stay all day.

What a great little pub, tucked away in pretty, peaceful South Queensferry. A good selection of ales on tap and of course, a wide choice of whisky. The walls are filled with signs, memorabilia & quirky nic naks. The one downside for me, and the treasure didn’t stay longer and have a meal: too many TV screens - everywhere you looked, and the sound of the racing channel just about drowned everything else out. But hey, I’m not a local and if that’s the way they like it, so be it. Still well worth a visit.

Rough as the proverbial badger's.... Service poor, despite asking for no ice, our drinks came laden with ice. Asked the barmaid if she could take the ice out and was told she didn't know how to, I'd have to do it.

Nothing better than a proper traditional Scottish pub. Few and far between these days. Welcoming staff and good range of cask ales always a good sight. Could have happily stayed here all day. Will be back.

Good food, good environment, good service on a busy Sunday. The friendly staff served us a large group of cyclists well. The set lunch of lentil soup and sandwich with tuna mayo fillings was delightfully yummy. Value for money too at just £10 with coffee.

Came in here looking for a cozy pub lunch and wasn't disappointed 😋. Steak pie was to die for with lovely chips and peas. My partner said his fish and chips was perfect - just exactly how he likes it. Staff were warm and friendly - the service was impeccable 👌. Lovely cosy place 😀

We went in on a wet Monday afternoon, it was busy and a small band playing. Quick service, great people all wanting to chat, made very welcome. Great atmosphere all round. Landlord then brought out free food plates to everyone. Just shows, with a little effort you can have a busy pub on a wet November day. Well done the band with Beatles era music, above all, well done Landlord.

Admittedly..we didn't go ourselves but had booked in a group of lovely American tourists for lunch after reading the reviews and website claim of Premier pub in Sth Q. I was disappointed when they described it as 'average' ( they have been very complementary about other venues we have taken them to. Said service was fabulous but food "just ok". Means we would now reconsider using the Tap for future tour groups.

The best pub in Queensferry by a mile. Great food, a good selection of Real Ale and lovely staff.

Really enjoyed it here. Good pint, good friendly service and good atmosphere. They had a young lad playing guitar. He was excellent! Covered every genre ! From Elton John to oasis ! He was very good.

Great pub and people for a touring yank

Was in for a few drinks on Saturday evening. There was a lad playing acoustic guitar, he was excellent. Non stop song after song, genre after genre, something foe everyone. Excellent evening had.

As the doors were open, I stopped in to scout the bar and menu for dinner later that day. The bar tender made it clear that she was not open yet and was not about to entertain my interest. Oh well.

Great live music and atmosphere

Popped into this traditional Scottish pub on the recommendation of live music being played, first impressions was a nice and friendly atmosphere. The bar server was very attentive, friendly and informed us there was a singer playing this evening. The singer was amazing and interacted well with the crowd. She sat with us on her short break and had a good chat about her journey as a musician so far. There was lots of cheering and whistling after each set. This is when the mood was dampened, the younger female bar staff came across to our table and asked that we refrain from whistling after each set, this was despite others doing it, the singer appeared shocked at this response from staff. Luckily this was near the end of the live music being played, On leaving we asked what the issue was with whistling, to be told its not fair on people that have hearing aids (this response was not what we expected and were shocked by the response), this is a small scottish pub with live music most weekends, in our 40 odd years of life not once have we been to a gig and not seen or heard people joining in with others or the singer. Therefore we will not be back, due to the attitude of the young female staff member, which is a shame as we are visitors to the area frequently and not once have we experienced staff like this at any of the other establishments within the area.

This was my second visit to the Ferry Tap, the first one being for the quiz. The quiz is quite a challenging one but is still enjoyable. On this visit we had lunch which featured fairly standard pub food. It did the job but it was nothing spectacular.

Great pub, plenty of taps. Bellfield too, so could have a gluten free pint, which was awesome.

Local fantástico com grande variedade de cerveja e whisky. Proprietaria e clientes muito simpáticos. Alguns deles ficaram encantados quando souberam que éramos Portugueses, já tinham estado no nosso País do qual gostavam muito.

On a day trip to South Queensferry we decided to try this bar for a quick lunch and we were not disappointed. We were quickly served and our meals were delivered very hot and good portions, bar was clean and staff were very pleasant at all times Would recommend

In a sane world, the karaoke night at the Ferry Tap would be one of the Top 10 reasons to visit Scotland.

First visit was a lovely friendly experience. however returning later we were met by a not so welcoming barperson which tainted our overall experience.

A lovely no frills pub with great steak pies. Step outside for views of the 3 bridges across the Firth if Forth. Very pleasant and polite staff. Traditional Scottish pub. No tartan tat.

As a non whisky drinker you go into this gorgeous building to be greeted by a really friendly guy called Micheal and a wall of whisky. He explained what they were how to taste them and it was just awesome. Highly recommend.

Michael the barman gave us the most awesome experience, recommending one of the terrifyingly extensive whiskeys and explaining how to taste it and make the most of it. The whiskey was astonishing and the experience delightful. The whole pub was friendly with a sociable atmosphere and I would recommend it to anyone.

I like the pub. The staff and locals are friendly. I usually like live music but here it is far, far to loud. We left after half a drink. Honestly it would be better without the music.

We had a lovely (last) night out in Scotland at The Ferry Tap, where we were advised by locals for whiskey. Nice little cafe on the shore at Queensferry South.

Clean and small a typical Scottish bar. Good affordable food, enjoyed it.

Solid straight forward Pub on the main street offering a good range of real ales and other tipples. Menu offers great British fare at reasonable prices. Perfect place to have in amongst all the other fancy places with fancy food at fancy prices. Get along, cheers 🍻
