Will start by saying how friendly all of the staff were and the place had a great buzz, however…. Really long wait for both drinks and then food to arrive. When the food eventually was served my wife’s dish was cold and by the time the replacement ( which wasn’t much warmer) arrived I’d finished mine. I asked for another coffee while I waited for her to eat which then never arrived at all! Food unfortunately could also only be described as ‘ok’. Great venue and lovely staff but there are much better places for the money. Shame

Went to Whirlow Hall Farm 9th April 2024. Whirlow couldn't help the rain but we feel the whole experience was very poorly organised. Couldn't get in the cafe for lunch as all the table's were reserved. We queued for half an hour in the pouring rain only to be told all the table's were reserved. It would have been better if a sign was put up to inform people of the waiting time. There was a very small stone hut where you could have your picnics but no seating available. Queued for an hour for face painting and then for crafting. We eventually gave up and went home. JJC

I've had good sausage butties from here but the hot pork sarnies are atrocious. The one I had was about four inches high and piled up with meat. That sounds good on paper but I would have rather had a sandwich with less meat that I could pick up and eat as it was intended for a smaller price. It was so sloppy, I had to eat it with a knife and fork which felt unnatural. I suppose the meat was sourced from the farm and of high quality but that means nothing when it’s presented and cooked so badly. By badly cooked, I don’t mean that it wasn’t cooked through or anything like that. It was just too wet, shredded and drenched in gravy, to the point that the breadcake fell apart when touched. It came with a side of gravy in a small jug that was decent stuff but there was no use for it and I had to waste most of it. Roast pork sometimes tastes too much like a living pig smells when it isn't cooked properly. Again, I don’t mean that it was raw or anything but I need pork to be properly roasted, not beige. When you visit a farm and the creatures approach you in their pens for a scratch behind the ears, a fleshy smell rises from them. Not an unpleasant one for a living creature but I don’t want that when I’m eating them roasted! The worst thing about it was there was no crackling! What sort of sadist sells a pork sarnie with no crackling! It should be rated as a crime against humanity in an international court! As far as I’m concerned the sarnie wasn’t just bad, it was an abomination. The fact that it was sold and priced as a luxury item makes it far worse in my eye. It cost the best part of a tenner and I'd want to be paid at least four times that to consider eating one again. There's no faulting the service at Whirlow farm though, the staff there are lovely and attentive. Really good coffee too.

Beautiful summer’s day, we sat outside overlooking the gardens. Staff polite and friendly as I ordered the barn breakfast at £12.50 which was basically a full English breakfast with 1 of everything so a little expensive but you are in the posh area of sheffield. It was all very nice for a treat in a lovely setting.

The dog treats were a lovely surprise and the £2 dog sausage will be expected at every full English now! All the cakes look amazing too and the butchers has a limited, but good quality, selection of meats and sausages. Allow plenty of time to see all the bottles and jars of wonderful things too! We would spend a fortune here if we lived near!

Dear me. V poor. 4 drinks and 3 cakes ordered. All brought to the table at different times. One of cake portions utterly miniscule. A further cake (banana) solid and stale was replaced by a portion only marginally fresher. The jug of milk had something in it and needed to be replaced. Staff disorganised and frankly rather rude when asked for assistance, such as bringing a spoon. Upon attempting to pay I was asked to leave a gratuity. I think not!! The girl who served us couldn't even provide a receipt or bill to evidence what had been charged. Utter rubbish.

We've been here before but only for coffee (good ones); this time we timed it right and got here in time for brunch. It's busy (it's deservedly popular) but service is still friendly, helpful, and not rushed. We both ordered mushrooms on sourdough with poached egg, parmesan shavings, truffle oil and rocket - and it was amazing! Generous helpings, pungent with truffle oil, and loads of salad leaves. Just beware eating it immediately before meeting anyone else.... Lots of space too, inside and out (under the wide roof, so people were staying dry even in the light rain), and good views out onto the children's playground and the fields beyond - with some of the animals grazing contentedly. We'll certainly be back. Need to check out the range of delicious-looking and very substantial salads on display, for one thing. A great place :-)

Whirlow Farm Ltd. It appears the franchise is being sold to amateurish individual's. I attended the Euros on 17th July 2022 with my granddaughter and family. Looking for a local food outlet I selected the Whirlow Farm stall. Burger purchased at £6.50., no receipt available. To my amazement I had a bank notification to the effect the charge was actually £12. If I had purchased two items it would not be £12. HOW WAS I DO FOOLISH NOT TO INSIST ON SEEING MY AMOUNT. The burger was disappointing and the fact I was duped by a reputable local supplier harder to swallow than the burger. You should be ashamed.

Beautiful location and as a fan of the farm and shop I decided to try the cafe again (previously not been impressed!). Front of house staff very pleasant, and speed of service good, but unfortunately yet again the food was disappointing. I tried the eggs Benedict with salmon and unfortunately didn’t enjoy it, especially as it’s left me with a rather unpleasant after taste. Also disappointed by the fact that it was just a normal piece of white sliced bread rather than something slightly special/different, which is a shame in view of the cost!
