Fantastic old pub featured in Camra’s heritage pubs book. Beer selection on the smaller side but a great space.

Well it's been going over 240 years so it must be doing summat reit!

Fantastic pub, the staff are friendly and efficient and the pub quiz is second to none they also have a fantastic offering of snacks! Prices are also very good for as popular as it is!

Went in on Christmas Eve for a quiet drink. The landlord was very stressed sat in the corner wrapping presents. He made me hold his paper whilst he wrapped it and chastised me when I didn’t do it correctly He said he had to be there as he could only employ a child behind the bar since Brexit. The child was well mannered but didn’t understand the cash I tried to pay with. I bought him some crisps and he was on the ball with no noticeable tantrums. People came in from all over, even Ireland, with their own special character. Sat enjoying a nice pint in the best pub ever. Long live the Lion.

Play regularly at the Jazz jam here (first Monday of each month). You could not get a less unpretentious pub! Love this place.

The band I roadie for called Black Sails played a gig here last night, the venue is great for bands to perform at and many locals came to the show, the drinks were nice and the staff were friendly

What a cracking local pub! Great selection of beer and craft ale on rotation, always a warm welcome and fantastic atmosphere. The Whitelion always has live music on over the weekend and mid week jam nights. If you want to hide away in a corner to chat to a friend or sit in the front parlour and get to know the locals, this place has everything to offer. As Arnie said "I'll be back"

Decided to try the real ale. Staff were rude and too busy with their phones to serve. It was dirty and toilets smell and the "real ale" was awful i had to take the first pint back as it was off - much to the disgust of the bar staff and ended up levu=ing the replacement as it was just as bad. - DON'T GO

Brilliant, never seen so many different snugs. Loads of beers on and great rock music playing. I will definitely be back and bringing my friends.

The White Lion has been around as a historical and loved pub for centuries. Luckily the owners preserve its natural charm, and you can explore the brilliant layout of discreet tap rooms, side rooms and plotting parlours that are all still intact. It's reminiscent of being on an old train with dappled glass and small cosy spaces. There is a larger open area at the back as well, which often has live music on after about 8.30pm. There are two bars, several serving areas and a darts board, just in case you fancy throwing sharp objects around for fun. What more is there to love? Oh and it's super non judgemental, open to all, young, older, dressed up, dressed down and super safe for women too. Can fully recommend this authentic pub. Don't come here if you want expensive cocktails however and leather seats as you will be confused and disappointed. Plus a Labrador may lay on your Jimmy Choos.

One of Sheffields oldest pubs dating from the 1700s.A great venue for live music and excellent beer. Well worth a visit just for the interior.

The White Lion has been a gravitational place to feel comfortable and at home in since 2003. A friendly atmosphere, amazing original tiles and decor as well as beer kept to the peak or perfection. You can keep your hipster over thought out bar, this is Sheffield through and through and a heart of pure punk.

Good to go to my old stomping ground. Live music on. Brilliant. Loads of beers on offer, which is good and bad. Quality perhaps not great. Service good. Toilet hand dryer is worse than useless. Take something to dry hands. We will go back.

Probably my favourite pub on Chesterfield Road.

Borrowed a book of the Landlord. Haven't read it. He won't let me forget it. However the pub is gorgeous and there's a nice beer selection. Grest for meetings as there's some lovely litle nooks to hide in. Always a pleasure.
