Only went in for a pint. Sunday lunch and the pub didn't open until 14.00. Not been in since Christmas Day 2018 so nearly 5 years. The place hasn't been open very long after a 3 week refurbishment. There was a strong smell of paint.

Just done up and looks nice after it's refurb. Beer was well kept and they had gluten-free beer on tap. Personally I prefer a quiet pub to one with loud music, but understand we aren't all alike. I'll probably only use it on quiet nights.

Very interesting night! Great kareoke, them had a conversation with a young man who wanted to join our friendship group to move tonanother venue.. the local drug dealer decided the young man was not coming with us. Following a bit of a heated discussion the local drug dealer took it upon himself to ban me.... with the landlady's backing and physically ejected me from the pub.... lifting me up and trapping my finger in the door.... delightful. Do not recommend!

This is a straightforward pub..... it doesn't serve food, it isn't a wine bar, there's no theme to it. But it isn't playing loud music there's no pool table and no sports tv's on every wall. So if like us, you're just calling in for a pint or glass of wine before going out to eat elsewhere, or you want to chat with your friends and actually hear each other ....this is the place. Its basic clean and warm.

Ranmoor is my old stomping ground and the 'Ranny' was a frequent pub in the late 80s and 90s. I can't fault my experience there this evening but the pub has that look of being a bit neglected and unloved. A case of too many managers or tenants not being given enough time? It deserves to succeed but as a drinker since 1986, I've visited many a pub recently with a similar feel regarding new managers or tenants. But I repeat, tonight was lovely and I wish them all the best.

Under new management from the end of May-2022, this pub is steeped in history, of coaches and horses. Well worth reading up on that, as this place would have been the local stop for the Ranmoor gentry back in the day. The poor would have walked before the trams came through this way on the way to Fulwood. The pub looks amazing in summer or winter, the light gives a very different feel depending on the season. The hanging baskets in June look perfect. A quiet night of conversation was had with friends on 19-Nov, and a couple of beers, before heading for a local curry. Slightly disappointed that the Estrella beer from Barcelona was no longer on tap, but the bar served beer to take out for our meal and we will definitely be back, as this place deserves to be busier.

Nice little local pub, I've visited a few times. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be supported well by the locals these days. I can't help thinking if they served food it could become more of a destination.

Se ve adorable desde el exterior, pero no juzgues un libro por su portada. Nunca me han insultado tanto como para servir una bebida en un vaso manchado con marcas de lápiz labial. El vino tinto obviamente ha estado abierto por un tiempo, ya que sabe a vinagre. Sin ambiente Vino de vinagre Un desperdicio de 12. 50 por 2 bebidas! ! Puede ser una buena visita si eres un compañero del propietario.

Me encontré con un grupo de amigos para tomar unas copas. Estaba tan impresionado con la calidad de la cerveza Farmers Blonde que me quedé con ella toda la noche. Teníamos asientos cómodos y el servicio en el bar fue rápido, eficiente y amable. La cerveza rubia muy pálida fue una de las mejores que he probado en los últimos tiempos.

If your not local give this place a miss. Over charged us for our drinks. Had a cheaper round in the city centre. On a positive the exits are well signed 🙄

Visited here on a Sunday afternoon with friends. An excellent selection of real ales including Tim Taylor's Landlord! Friendly bar staff and very pleasant clientele. Being somebody not from the local area we were made to feel very welcome by the locals. Thoroughly recommend and will return when next in Sheffield.

A locals' pub with seemingly very friendly locals. Some good beers - Landlord always a hit, as well as the Bradfield Farmers Ale which was great. Very cosy inside, with a heated patio area behing, and if on a nice sunday afternoon when the roads not too busy, lovely to sit out the front. Slightly more expensive than some of the pubs on the outskirts of Sheffield, but its a lovely pub and area so worth it!

We are regulars at the Ranmoor Inn. A good traditional pub for groups or couples who meet for conversation. No loud music, no tellies on all the time and best of all you can take your dog.

I was born 200 yards fron the Ranmoor Inn and over the decades, it has been looked after by a sucession of very good landlords and landladies. The present management is no exception. A great old pub with choice well kept beer.

Have been to this pub a couple of times now and I can't get enough of it. Set in a lovely area, the pub is so friendly and welcoming. The staff are efficient and so nice. The surroundings are relaxing and charming. A lovely pub that I will visit as often as possible .

Went here for lunch with the grandchildren. New extension creating loads more room. Good menu to choose from.excellent food good service. A great new dining option in the area .

This small pub has two outside seating areas. It serves 4 real ales as well as the lagers. The main outside area is the smoking area. The small area at the side looks on to the main Road. I have visited this pub many times on my visits to Sheffield.

We stopped here for lunch and the quality of the food is definitely a cut above ordinary pub grub. Its freshly prepared with care and imaginatively served. The beer is well kept. Staff are helpful and provide good service

Live close to the Ranmoor inn and it is a lovely local. Great selection of beers, fantastic atmosphere and a wonderful outside courtyard/terrace/smoking area. Massive bonus that the Ranmoor inn now does food to match! Fantastic tapas, not something you except of a pub like the Ranmoor but fantastic addition.

My local! Pass this pub every day back & forwards to work.....met my niece who was over from Cape Town on hols along with my twin & brother & sis in law after work one night & had lovely tapas & wine & returned again tonight....very nice.

Even though my regular tipple is a 125ml Gavi....and most excellent too.....there are times when I really enjoy a glass of the many interesting beers here! However the range of gins are competing for customer's attention too nowadays. Proud to call it my local for many years and now the new menu is on offer it's even better.....it's kept all the magic of a perfect local and added more. Always a good craiac.

My favourite pub for over 10 years, being a weekly visitor. Since the new landlord / lady have taken over the food has gone up a notch due to their excellent tapas. Unfortunately the beer, previously the best I have ever had, has gone down several notches. Most weeks I now have a hangover (both head and tummy) after just 1 or 2 pints, and the pints are noticeably cloudier (now a 6 out of 10 compared to a 9.5 before). I would implore the new hosts to redouble their efforts to keep the beer fresh and pure, and the lines clean, and to ask their predecessors for advice if necessary.

We saw the Tapas menu on line and living close by decided it was worth the short walk to try it out. On arrival the pub was very busy as the England v France rugby match was being played, but they were plenty of bar staff on duty to cope and we were soon served with our drinks and a welcoming smile.. The layout of the pub is great and we found a little alcove to sit near to a warm fireplace. Our selected. Tapas of warm Camembert with Cranberries and walnuts; Potatas Bravas; Charcuterie and Bruschetta was soon served on wooden platters and was plenty for the two of us and priced very reasonable too. The meal including a decent bottle of Pinot Grigio was £30.. A definite find and cannot wait to return.

We visited The Ranny last Friday evening to try the new tapas menu on offer! We were a pretty large group, having just finished work were ready for drinks and tapas. I had the mini fish and chips and another friend had oven baked Camembert with hot bread to dip in cranberries and nuts. Absolutely delicious! The food came out promptly which surprised us to how busy it was. We drank Abbeydale's thirst quenching Deception and a New Zealand Sauvingon Blanc. Food at The Ranmoor was always going to be a tough venture but we thought it was done brilliantly and we look forward to plenty of balmy summer evenings sat outside eating and drinking. Well done to the new couple in charge, fab. We will be back.

Whoever took over this pub after the previous wonderful landlord and landlady, always had a tough job ahead. But my disappointment with the new management is not related to their personality (although they do seem incredibly false) but to do with the bitter, vile Guinness and the lack of life in literally any pints I saw around me. Perhaps the new management is more wine focused but this pub had a good reputation for having decent draughts and I would hate to see that hard work go down the drain. The atmosphere had the buzz of a typical Friday however, said buzz did end a lot earlier and the pub soon emptied out before I expected it to. The male bar staff were as excellent, efficient and friendly as they always have been and the new, slightly older female bar staff seemed fine. But I'm worried the beautiful, village-type essence of this great pub is being diluted and will be lost as the management has a different vision to what this pub is used to.

Traditional Pub with good decor. Landlord and Landlady genuinely helpful. Dog welcome! Nice to go to a pub without background musak but a chap tinkering the ivories. Beer well kept so obviously a good pint served.
