Called here this morning before going for a walk round Matlock bath. Lovely quaint little tea shop with welcoming servers. Just had drinks but the menu stated a variety of food and cakes. Great prices also. Would call again as lots of Covid restrictions in place so felt safe.

Called in to this lovely cafe on a wet miserable Monday lunch. The friendly owner greeted and and we made our selection from the specials board, there is also a menu with something for everyone. The food arrived shortly afterwards and using good quality fresh produce, oh and the rye bread used with the Welsh rarebit was so delicious......! There were a selection of home made cakes on display which looked delicious. We will certainly be returning to sample more dishes and thoroughly recommend.

Called in here for lunch whilst visiting Matlock Bath. This is a great little tea room. They offer a wide range of toasties, sandwiches, afternoon teas, crean teas and snacks. The tea room is wheelchair accessable, but to use the loos you need to go up two steps, its an old building so to be expected. The food is superb and very well prepared. My wife had a brie and apple toastie and I had a prawn and mayo sandwich. These came with a side salad which included the usaul stuff, but also grape, apple, orange and strawberry slices. The sandwiches were massive and made using a lovely bloomer loaf, so nice and thick. Certainly didn't leave here feeling hungry and I thought the prices were really good too for what you get. The tea is also served in nice tea pots and bone china tea cups. My only minor point and this is purely a taste thing, my sandwich was a little too heavy on the mayo for my own peronal taste, but very nice none the less and plenty of prawns. Such a nice refreshing change from the miriad of fish and chip shops which now seem to infest the main street in the town, I mean just how many fish and chip shops do you need in a small pictuesque town??

Visited for lunch. Sweet 'old fashioned' tea room serving home cooked simple dishes. Ordered bacon brie & cranberry toasties which were very good & served with a nice side salad with fruit & a small pot of coleslaw. Washed down with excellent coffee's. Cakes looked very tempting but I resisted! This is a nice tea shop with a homely feel. The menu is limited but the food is obviously freshly prepared and cooked to order so the small wait is worth it. Could do with a refresh and not sure how they would cope during a period but well woth a visit if you just want a simple lunch or coffee and a cake

I visited here with my 8 year old, we called in as I remembered from many years ago then did amazing milkshakes, and he wanted one. Alas when we went he fancied a Coke float instead, and I had a pot of tea. The cafe is waitress service and I loved the collection of odd teacups on the table. We paid and carried on with our visit around Matlock bath. Later my son asked if he come back here for lunch, as he didn't fancy fish and chips. We had a child's pasta bolognaise and a sausage cob. Food was lovely, prices reasonable, the staff were friendly and appreciated our return custom. Can't wait to go back again.

The carrot cake and chocolate orange were both great too but by far the lemon was my favourite. Truly delicious :) and huge slices!! Called in here for coffee Sunday morning. Place was probably about half full. Notice on the counter advising customers to take a seat and someone would be along to take our order. We found a table and waited to be served. After about 5 minutes a bearded gentleman appeared and took an order from a table near to us. He then cleared dirty crocks from an adjoining table and the disappeared up the steps and into the kitchen. When he returned he went behind the counter and commenced talking to someone at the counter. With that we decided that life was too short to waste being ignored and left.

We sat outside here in the sunshine, but inside is all prettyy chintz and china. It is more my type of cafe being from a bygone age. We had lovely coffee and cheese scones followed by carrot cake of large size. It was a little more expensive but as it is a tourist area it is understandable. The service was very good, friendly and helpful. We were the only customers but as we left, quitea few filled the room. Would recommend

Stopped in here for an afternoon cuppa. lovely traditional tea rooms with friendly staff. Kids, dogs, muddy boots welcome. Good selection of teas and coffees with very tempting cakes.

Dropped in here whilst on a coach tour, it's the 1st place opposite the car park. Wife had cream tea and I had a slice of date and oatmeal cake. Scone arrived warmed and it was moist so was my slice of cake. Teapot ample for 3 cups and coffee was in a large cup. Altogether a pleasant tea rooms well worth a visit.

Whilst I cannot fault the quality of the food, the lack of toilet facilities causes me a major problem. Previously when we have visited here we were able to use the toilets belonging to the pub next door. Having mobility problems and on medication , I politely asked if it would be possible to use the staff WC. This was refused and I was told to use the public toilets which were a considerable distance away. It took me a very painful 25 minute walk to go there and back.I am 85 years old, leaning heavily on a walking stick . I feel very disappointed as i have visited this fish shop many times in the past.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was probably the best I've had, the meat melted in your mouth and the veg was brilliant with meaty gravy

Simply the best place for brunch (and any other light meal) in Matlock. We are a party of 8 and they coped admirably, all of the breakfasts coming out at the same time and hot. Reasonable prices and being located in a (long stay) car park helps.

Really lovely food, you wouldn't know it from the outside/inside - it's like any other pub but the food was really good. Had the best dessert - rice pudding with apple and nuts - to die for.

Arrived around 10:45 am on 10/11/24 only to be informed that there was no hot food being served until 11:15 due to a take away order. Others in front of us left and we reluctantly ordered two coffees, a flapjack and a Pork Pie instead of the full cooked breakfasts we’d hoped for. We were charged twice for the Pork Pie, which we pointed out and were subsequently refunded for. We sat at a table that had the previous occupants breakfast plate on it (which was never cleared, considering the waiting on staff weren’t serving any food at the time) and waited for our coffee which did not arrive. We fetched it ourselves from the counter, at which point around 11:05, they started taking breakfast orders again. The place seemed poorly managed and why you’d turn away valued customers for a take away order is beyond me.
