I tried their Taiwanese pancake with tea at brunch time Its a small stall in Old Spitalfields Market. The sight of them preparing multiple circular cakes feels like an artist at work, but that's about it. I ordered the Salted Caramel Limited Edition Wheelcake, Unfortunately, it was one of worst desserts in my life. No taste of Caramel, undercooked slimy puck they served me reminded me that in an Instagram, FB driven world, some smart moves can bring customers and throw the actual quality in background.

Visited their stall at Seven Dials Market and tried a chocolate and vanilla one. Very sweet but very tasty, and made freshly on site.

Wheelcakes are definitely some of my most favourite asian desserts and snacks. Whenever I crave for it, Wheelcake Island is the place to be. Each pancake is filled with so much filling, very happy that they are very generous. Also, there are a few kiosks around London so they're easy to find.

We absolutely loved these little pancake-tasting wheelcakes at Spitalfields Market. We opted for the 3 for £7 deal as we spotted a macha flavour one and as we got to the front of the queue, noticed a sticker advertising a Lotus Biscoff wheelcake, and decided to get one of those and a vanilla as well. We had to wait for about ten mins for them to make up some fresh Biscoff ones, so we took the other two to try whilst it was being made. The vanilla one tasted a bit like the custard you used to get at primary school, but we didn't dislike it. The macha one was perfect, a nice subtle flavoured green filling inside a melty warm cooked batter. I would recommend getting about 12 Biscoff cakes each and just having done with it, because they were little golden nuggets of HEAVEN. They tasted a bit like sticky toffee pudding with all the melted Biscoff goodness. Loved it. Can't wait to have more.

Went here on a Sunday (the day to visit the east end in my opinion) and saw this place on somebody's YouTube video. There was no queue and cakes were 7 GBP for 3. Bought a matcha one, a custard one, and an azuki one. Surprised when the lady said it would be about 10 minutes. Anyway, my family of four shared all 3 of them and they were all super hot - give it a bit to cool and don't be that guy who burns his mouth. Very tasty - just couldn't give it a 5 because it's not something I would probably buy again.

There's different flavours and usually a monthly special. They aren't made fresh to order but are sometimes kept warm, but that doesn't impact the quality much; they're still crispy on the outside and quite warm. Azuki bean: If you know the beans, that's the flavour. Matcha: A very good matcha flavour. Pumpkin and custard (November 21): nice combination! Biscoff and custard (December 21): I liked this one best; the biscoff stuff was kind of crispy and it paired well with the custard. It is a bit pricey - £3 each or three for £7.

First time trying out these adorable wheel-cakes and they were delightful. I went for the custard filling and the flavour was creamy and not too sweet. I enjoyed the texture of the cake and it was freshly prepared in front of me. I’ll try out the other flavours next time. Friendly service was nice too.

£3 per cake. I bought 4, all different taste. I ate them 2 hours later when I was at home One was overcooked(classic), the other was partly uncooked(wet flour still inside).-Oreo. Taste was worse than the frozen one which is being sold in Korean Supermarket in New Malden. The frozen one is bigger in size and 5 cakes bundle pack is only around £4. So the price was too expensive. I suggest £0.85 per cake. Young staffs were working at the till and at the baking oven in the concession. They need to be trained if they are not owner. No skill for food. No recommend at all. Original cake in Japan and in other country are much taster and cheaper. Please do not disappoint this kind of cake when you compare this cake with original ones. Original one’s taste is great but the one in this shop is only poor. Please try this kind of cake in Japan, China, Taiwan or Korea. Then you can understand my disappointment.

I only recently found out about the amazing wheelcakes on Instagram from following a bunch of food accounts. They have various stools dotted around London, but always come to Spitalfields market for one! They're very soft and fluffy and light to the stomach! They have different flavors like Vanilla, Chocolate and my personal recommendation the Matcha one! If you're a foodie like me head on down there and try one!

Was recommended to come here and I already want to come back! I dont think there is much more to say apart from these wheelcakes are for people who like the concept of a big, soft, fluffy Dutch pancake/waffle (in taste) filled with a custard (or other flavour on offer) which is warm if you allow 4-5 minutes to cook. Frankly, you cant just eat one! So simple. So tasty! If it's still 3 for £7. Get 3!

Really delicious dessert. Personally i found the best way to optimise the chocolate and custard one was to put it in the fridge and eat it for breakfast. The chocolate solidifies and the custard remains liquid.

The 'wheelcakes' are made right in front of you and served warm. Flavours include red bean and a chocolate/custard mix. Both were good and reminded us of similar cakes we had previously in Asia. Good for a light snack or a light dessert.
