This is the second time we have stayed here in our motorhome. The service was excellent and there is always a smile to greet you at the bar. We had a meal here and the food was outstanding. The best chicken balti my husband has ever had. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this Pub and restaurant to anyone. We will definitely be returning again.

We found this pub and thought we would give it a try for a nice Sunday roast. When we arrived it wasn't busy at all there was one other couple at a table. We was sat down and given the menu to find out it was mainly Indian style food sold here. We was shocked but gave it ago. Had a round of drinks, ordered our food that wasn't very nice. Fish was like slush, and the curry we had wasn't like any we had before. Asked for the Bill to be really shocked how much it cost we nearly died. There was so many service charges very disappointed won't be going again This isn't false I said mainly Indian and wasn't what we expected! I have my bill and booking if you would like to see. Bill £143.00 Sunday 28th was my booking

Me and my family visited around a month - 2 months ago as had new owners so thought we would give it a try. The restaurant was quite quiet so service was fast! Staff were lovely and always come over asking if we want anymore drinks. However, the food was (in the nicest way possible) was awful, i had the butter chicken and the veg rice. the curry was like water, and the rice had frozen veg added into it. Same with my moms curry. My sister had spaghetti carbonara which was very sickly and wasn't tasteful at all. A carbonara is known for having bacon or ham in it, this did not. Just a jar of sauce added and mozzarella sprinkled on the top. Onto deserts, 2 of us had the red velvet cake, which was tasty but wasn't like your usual red velvet cake at all. One of us had the cheesecake, which was clearly frozen because it came out to the table and the one end was boiling!!! We gave the cheesecake back and refused to pay for it. Cheesecake should not be microwaved and surely frozen deserts should be left out to defrost the night before?? When we came to pay there was a 12% service charge which wasn't an issue. Please check your bills. Not everything is clear what the prices are for and they also still tried to charge us for the cheesecake. Lastly, the staff were lovely and its a lovely restaurant inside but we will not be returning and we don't recommend you visit either.

Not good value at all. We had a chicken tika byriani which came out with no veg curry or sauce at all. Basically it was a bowl of spicey rice with 4 pieces of chicken for £12.50, total disgrace. We also had a beef and onion bloomer sandwich, when it came out it was on 2 slice of bog standard white bread and smoothered in mustard, we had to send it back, no mention of mustard on menu. In the end, we just cancelled the sandwich, which they offered to remake.Asked for some kind of refund because of the lack of sauce with byriani, they knocked £2 off a £28 bill, totally disappointed. The table next to use was complaining also about portion size. Save your money and eat else were please.

Opted for fish and chips. Very disappointed as fish did not look cooked. The batter was well cooked but tiniest amount of fish inside was sloppy. The fish was on top of the biggest amount of chips I have ever seen on a plate. Mushy peas looked dry and inedible. One of our party found a hair in his meal. My meal was replaced but I couldn't face it. Needless to say we won't be going back

Sorry, I couldn't bring myself to say anything at the time as the staff were so nice but was soo disappointed with the roast....we were starving on route back from the peak district and this place had good reviews and just off m6....staff were lovely but considering all they do is roasts on Sunday I could hardly eat it everything tastes like it was 2 dats old....veg tasted funny, mash was dry, meat was dry I had to have all the gravy to attempt eating it! If it was cheap I probably wouldn't have said anything but at £17 odd each I wished I had got a burger king I would have felt better for it....and I don't eat fast food! Veg needs to be cooked fresher and keep meat moist and was the cauliflower meant to be cauliflower cheese??? There might have been a accidentle sprinkle of grated cheese in there Really thought it was going to be good from the pics I had seen. Maybe other food in the week is good but defo do not recommend the roast

Thought we would give it a try, the taste of the food was good, it did take 1hr for our food to come out from when we were seated, the food was brought out on a skillet and when the lady lifted the skillet some food rolled onto her serving tray. she made the mistake of picking the food up with her fingers and placing it back on the skillet in front of my wife. For me that’s a big No No, only the chef and the person eating should touch the food

Went to this pub as thought It was owned by Marston as we had booked through there website and we had a voucher to use as we are shareholders with Marstonpubs Ltd.. When we got there we were told to go to bar and wait as was not open till 5pm .we were told someone would fetch us which they didn't and we made our way back to restaurant. We were given menus which had no indication of all the extras that we paid for so this really needs sorting out . The pomperdoms were medioca and the pickle tray just like something you would get in aldi . The 2 lamb Tika maslas that we ordered had grizzle in them and hardly any meat on them I had to ask where my rice was as it didn't arrive with the meal . The place was empty apart from 2 other tables which I would think for a Saturday night just before easter to ring alarm bells. The plates were cold and food was not very hot . The rice was the only thing that was hot. We ordered puddings my parter had the vanilla ice cream and this cost £4.50 for the tiniest portion I have ever seen i ordered kufti ice cream and asked what It was to be told it was mango sorbet when it turned up it was vanilla ice cream with small bits of chocolate ice cream in there .the waitress was lovely but made me feel I couldn't have space to eat meal as every five minutes she kept on asking if we wanted drinks if we were OK etc.i don't mind this but would like to enjoy my meal in peace. When the bill arrived it was so hard to understand as most things just said food food food on it not broken down and we also.got told a service charge was put on which we couldn't even work out on the bill I was told this was optional and said I would not be paying for it . Bill for 2 meals was £45.50 and honestly I feel ripped off I will be sticking to the Indian takeaway in great Wyrley from now on where service is better food is nicer and no hidden charges. No wonder this place was empty. Read the TripAdvisor reviews before eating at this place . Please who ever owns this place sort out how you do your menu and do not hide hidden service charges. We will not be visiting again and will tell family members not to visit either .

Came here a few months ago had a very pleasant experience, went in again this weekend as saw it was taken over and not sure what planet the new owner is on but extortionate service charges on bills in an area like this? We’re not inner city, it’s meant to be a family friendly regular pub building up a new customer base. Paid it but won’t return. Food is ridiculously overpriced for the quality… curry is bland and the alcohol is extortionate!! such a crying shame as this place was a reasonably priced place to visit a while back with friendly atmosphere and lovely staff. It’s had a bit of a makeover and looks impressive but unfortunately it seems as though that’s at customers expense. I wouldn’t waste your time or hard earned cash.

Upon entering the pub I was wowed by the new look and the jazz vibe. I ordered food for my family, and was sorely disappointed with the currys. One chicken balti was flavourless to put it nicely and the fish curry was bland. I had asked for extra garlic and onions and was told there was none. I asked for my fish curry to be hot and it was so bland my 2 year old ate it comfortably. We were charged addition charges for the condiments that should have come for free with the poppadoms. 5 pieces of chicken tikka cost £8.50. Rip off. £62.00 my family and I went home hungry. To summarise: the food was an over priced disappointment. What a let down.

Very disappointing visit tonight. 4 of us visited tonight and first impressions walking In were pleasant. Nicely decorated and cosy restaurant. Just two other tables occupied though which is not usual for a restaurant at 7pm on a Saturday night in this area. Felt rushed to choose a drink and rushed again to order. We went with poppadoms to start with. We asked what they came with and we’re told a pickle tray. Ordered main as 2 x large mixed grills, a side of Balti sauce, a lamb Balti with naan bread, chicken burger and chips. The waiter said the lamb would actually be mutton / goat meat. I was a bit confused by this but said I’d try it. We were lead to believe all the food was freshly prepared. Poppadoms were served with 2 pickle trays. It was clear they were the packet ones you buy in the supermarket. Not very nice at all and the pickle tray was a tiny bit of onion salad with chilli sauce and some mint type sauce, not freshly made, tasted out of a bottle. Not a good start. Mains arrived and the mixed grills looked quite nice but not a lot of meat for a “large” at £22.50. It came with a small portion of chips but these were frozen fried chips which I hate. No salad or sauces to accompany the mixed grill. There was 2 small pieces of fish, 4 tiny pieces of chicken chunks which were dry, some tiny boned chicken which was overcooked and 2 tiny bits of lamb that was overcooked and dry and 2 sheesh kebabs. They were Undercooked and tasteless. A tiny bit of fried onion. Not worth £22.50. The Balti was in the tiniest dish and the meat was fatty, tough and vile and the sauce was watery and very bland. Naan was ok, thin and average but ok. Balti sauce was a tiny little bowl of watery oil. No idea what this actually was ! My friend enjoyed the chicken burger. She said it was lovely but could have just as nice at a hungry horse with the frozen fried chips. What a totally awful disappointing meal. The wine was £9.50 a glass and to top it off, they added a £15 service charge to our bill!! If you charge higher end prices, you need to improve the food drastically! The waiter was friendly and seemed nice but did make us feel rushed into ordering the minute we walked in and joined our friends. We spoke to the owner and he didn’t want to hear our criticism on this awful meal, just talked over us and felt we couldn’t fully express our experience. This place will be gone within 6 months due to the owners attitude to his paying customers. I came away not only deflated by an awful meal but hungry ! Worst meal I’ve had in a long time. Shame the owner didn’t want to listen. He took the service fee off the bill but no apology for the poor food and experience. One table was occupied when we left after our quick visit. That speaks volumes. Avoid!

Was told we was seated in the Bar on entering no table was set up for us we had to put the tables together ourselves, then the waitress came over and just put cutlery on a tray and plonked it on the table. Was told no starters but could have a desert out of a choice of lemon cheesecake or red velvet cake. Dinner came out very quick but we had preordered as requested Beef was very nice (1 slice of beef) the rest of the dinner was ok (rock hard sprouts, not much mash (table spoon ) plenty of gravy, no apple sauce or cranberry only mint sauce had to ask for salt and pepper.once finished they cleared the table asked if we wanted more drinks, i said we would have deserts to be told sorry we don't do deserts on a Sunday !!!! SHOCKING!! as we had been told that we had 2 options previously we asked for the bill which came £178.00 for one meal and 1 drink each no starter/ pudding. Also had the cheek to put on a £20 service charge we asked to remove. Reserved a table in the week over the phone with the new manager/owner, arrived to find the booking had not been recorded. Ordered food to have my drink spilt over me upon the food being served. The replacement drink did not arrive and after 15 mins had to ask again for it. For such a lovely setting the food is very poor. I ordered the fish and chips and my friend the Indian omelet with curry sauce. No curry sauce with the omelet and the chips were very greasy. Very basic food poorly presented. Very surprised to noticed a 12% service charge added to the bill that you are not told about. I think the owner needs to realise this is the West Midlands not London or America. When I asked a member of the team about the charge, they will removed it IF request. Check your bill! The best thing about the place is the lovely decor and the friendly barman Grant who was doing his best with very few staff on shift. The place has great potential with more staff, better food and the removal of a service charge, I cant see many locals accepting that but then, they've got to be savvy enough to notice it 1st.

I have been taken and visited this pub all my life my dad loved this pub, myself I am now 62 dad sorry to say long gone.Tonight I took my wife out to place we both love (or did love) my wife is very ill at the moment but we will get through it, tonight was just about putting a smile back on her face, What a let down the food over cooked in a deep fat fryer in oil that was older than god’s dog.when asked by the bar staff was everything ok my wife did say that the oil needed to be renewed, the reply from the owner was it’s all ok to me. Myself NO my wife a fully qualified chef plus used to teach at Walsall tech NO and one last thing to prove a point only one car on the car park my car. We will not be going back any time soon one point I will make after this review there will be ten good ones where did they come from ???????

Stated over in motorhome, didn't eat as there was a private party going on However we were allowed to have a drink in the back bar. Staff very friendly. Difficult place to find, need more signs. Was rather noisy overnight as close to motorway.

Went for Sunday lunch, very disappointed, room uncomfortably cold. Only 2 choice of meats, not 3 as they advertised. Mashed potato lumpy and cold, 1 small dish of uninspiring, borderline hard veg between 3 and meat that tasted that had been stored. Certainly not worth...

We stopped here overnight in the campervan with the dogs. We had food and beer, all very nice. The pub is dog friendly, but dogs are only allowed in part of the pub. The owners are friendly and dog lovers. The food was nice, we both had homemade food, I had the lasagne and a pint of bank's. There is a pool table, dog treats, and water for the dogs. I would recommend this place to anyone with either a campervan, dogs, or both

Hunters chicken ordered, but when it arrived only 3 minutes later (!!!), it was dry and tasteless. Waitress said they would inform the chef(??), there was no feedback! Not recommended at all. Edit: I can't be held responsible if your server didn't tell your chef. I said the chicken was dry and tasteless, not the pulled pork. If the chicken was already precooked, then kept warm, it will invariably dry out. The description of the dish on the menu also said smothered in cheese, but you must have a different meaning to smothered than I do.

This pub is on the search4sites page for motorhomes which means you can stop have a meal and rest before you carry on your journey. We stayed there last night Friday 11th Aug on our way to the lake district as this is very near the M6. I phoned them on the way up from London last night and they were fantastic. The kitchen closed at 7.45 and we were going to miss it by a couple of mins. I was WhatsAppd the menu and the food was ready when we arrived. They even have electric hook up there is a charge but worth it. If you are ever that way and need to stop i really recommend it. The staff were so friendly and welcoming we really appreciated

Last minute booking at the Wheatsheaf Laney Green. Only too happy to fit us in party of 8, we ordered our drinks and a excellent choice of mains . We were hungry and ordered mega roasts and great value for money at £16.95 each they were. Very good portions of gammon , beef and turkey and nice veg , roast potatoes, mash etc. Staff were welcoming and polite. 10 of 10. Put the address in your Google maps and get down to this fine eatery and you won't be disappointed. We will be back

We stop here periodically in our Motorhome and we have never had a negative experience. This visit is two nights and tonight we ate in the pub (not for the first time) and felt compelled to write a review that this place richly deserves! The staff are lovely and the home cooked food is flawless. If you want a great home cooked meal and a safe spot to park your moho then I cannot recommend this enough xxxxxx
