I recently visited the Chase Gate Hungry Horse and had a fantastic experience! The food was delicious, with generous portions and great value for money. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. A special shoutout to El, who provided exceptional service throughout our visit. El was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect for us. It’s rare to find such genuine and personalized service, and it truly made our meal even more enjoyable. We visited for lunch on the of chance we was greeted with a smile. Food was lovely as always our serve was Becky polite friendly and helpfu. We definitely will come back.

Christmas Dinner was delightful. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Not overcrowded with a spacious table for our family of 8. What a great experience we had, Thank you Ellie for being so friendly and spreading Christmas Cheer!

We came for Christmas dinner, food was absolutely incredible and drinks were lovely. Service was amazing and our server Elle couldn't do enough for us. Everyone who works here is really friendly and approachable thank you all for such a lovely day it was a great atmosphere.

Very quiet at my time of visiting around 1.15 lunch time. Expecting it to be busy with Christmas approaching. Could do with refurbishment of dining tables and chairs. They don't look very inviting and welcoming. Perhaps this impression puts people off. Cheap and cheerful prices.

Hey hey hey !! What a great meal we had here - food was in abundance- started with chicken strips and wings - they came in piping hot and good to see local sauces being used. For main I went for lamb kofta - which was well presented with plenty of lamb more than I've had in other restaurants. My wife had pie.whch she thoroughly enjoyed- staff were very helpful.and cheerful. Good to find some where that had food after 8pm. A bonus was to use our blue light card- we will back - Yum Yum

Lovely food very competitive prices, which did lead to a little over indulging. Leigh and the young lady behind the bar were polite cheerful and kind Will definitely be back

Advise do not go on Sundays, ordered mixed grill, chips cold, not fresh cooked, no steak on plate they had forgot to put it on plate, other meal gammon was cold to warm, and they forgot the jacket potato will not be going there again

Nice meal decent service reasonable price a nice atmosphere mostly locals pub and could see they all seem to look out for each other good to see

we booked a table for 6pm on 15/11/2024 to be told we had been booked in for 4pm this is not the first time we booked on line booked a table to be told when we got there it had not been booked or the time was not correct the bar staff did not want to know they had no interest at all about our booking when we booked food it took that long to come to us that the meals where cold the one meal we had was over cooked it was like eating house bricks it was the most expensive pub to eat in well we wont be going back to the chase gate we will take our custom some where else in future

Staff were really helpful, came in Saturday teatime lots of tables already reserved however staff found us a table. Food was out quick and tasted nice- I had the lamb kofta flatbread.

I always enjoy eating at the chase gate although I haven’t eaten all what’s on the menu what I do have is always good value and cooked the way I like it. Jodie served me and my wife and was very pleasant. There was a time it wasn’t so good but now it’s far better. Thanks to the chef and staff. We was also ask if any one had allergies which can sometimes be a life saver. Thank you.

Our server was elle, a lovely young lady who was very patient and polite with our table. Made my table feel very special tonight.

I regularly stop off for a bite to eat at Chase Gate after work. Always great food, great price, clean tables… Just a great experience all around.

I know the majority of food is from a microwave but went for a 8oz steak with jacked potato and coleslaw. I can honestly say I have left more than I was served. Look at the photo, looks like a 8oz steak had been cut into 3. Very poor

Only one server on duty to serve drinks and food when we arrived at 12.30. A dozen people waiting to be served at bar! Food ok though and good value.

Never had a bad meal from the chase gate. Have been visiting for years and always love the Friday BOGOF burgers. Good to see the new play area outside and will be good to see some improvements internally now as some areas are now showing their age

Part of the Hungry Horse pub chain, so you know what to expect: big quantities, crowd-pleasing pub grub. Unsophisticated, but good value. And some nice cask ale, which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is spoiled by intrusive TV screens and piped music. Service was friendly, as you'd expect in this part of the Black Country. Good location just outside Cannock. Big garden, great for kids.

All food came out cold after waiting an hour for food, there was undercooked meat and items missing. Terrible food. The manager had to refund our whole meal for 8 people. We left and ate somewhere else. Holes in wooden window frames, big enough for mice to get in from outside. Not clean cutlery. Staff wasn't very good with ordering for 8. Poor all round.

Pub is dated and in need of some TLC. Employees were polite and service was quick. Food however was very bog standard, Wife had the kofti special, both the fries and kofti were Luke warm at best and kofti was clearly previously cooked and thrown on the grill to reheat which made it burnt and chewy. I had the mighty mix grill, which was very average. Gammon and chicken was cooked alright, but the sausages were cremated and the peace of steak wasn't any bigger than 2 to 3oz. Wouldnt really call it a mighty as both the peace of gammon and steak were very small. Not much else to say really, all round your average boozer with average bog standard food.

Love the place Warm welcome with a friendly face. My favourite pub. Becky was an amazing server. Drinks are reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning!

Spot on. Food was nice and cooked perfect. Staff very friendly. Always smiling and go out their way to make you feel welcome! The restaurant is always clean. If you want a good night come and play the quiz on a Friday night!

Dirty and only two staff on, food was OK but cold. It's overdue a renovation. Wouldn't go back again.

Stopped here for dinner after a trip to Alton Towers. Very friendly and speedy service and we were happy with all the food also, very good value and tasty.

Worst food ever. Would not recommend it too anyone.

Lovely food and lots of it. Reason behind the three star review was the length of time we waited for the food. Over 40 mins for the main course and then it was over an hour from finishing the main before desert came through and that was after we had asked at the bar - they didn't know and weren't helpful and then we had to ask the person clearing tables, desert arrived within minutes of the second asking.

The majority of the food was hard and 2/7 were able to finish their meals. I did enjoy the chicken strips and chicken wings though.

First visit in quite a few years. The interior has been changed ( to be expected), only 2 members of staff on .The meal was very good and generous. Will probably be going again.

Have been several times before and the food is always cooked to perfection. There's a kids playground with beer garden to keep the kids entertained. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The food was horrible everything must of been frozen and then cooked won't be visiting again. The staff was great though veery helpful and friendly 👍

The food was quute acceptable pub food with a basic menu. I was a little disappointed with the lack of veggie options. There was no fish and chips even. Staff were friendly and service was good, maybe a little slow Worth a visit but be aware of limitations. I was impressed they had ev chargers at very good rates!

For some reason the regular kids portion was bigger than the larger kids portion

We regularly pop in for a couple after work, tonight was particularly friendly. Jess and Maddie were taking pride in their work and making sure the place was running well. Big thanks for looking after us

Received a very warm welcome, and order was taken swiftly and very accommodating to my requests. Steak and chips cooked to perfection. The baked alaska was to die for, well worth a visit all the staff are amazing
