Stopped on the way home called in without a booking. We were well received and had a fine meal. Good portion size, not too big, so we had room for dessert. The food was tasty and well presented and we left satisfied, which is what we needed. Thank you, we’ll drop in again when we are passing.

We regularly eat here as the food is so good so we decided to pop in for coffee and what a good choice. We ordered latte, green tea and a tea cake, the tea cake was actually lovely fruit bread toasted but very large slices much bigger than we expected and we were given two plates so we could share it and it was delicious. The green tea was the best I've ever had so overall an extremely pleasant experience. Like the regular visits for meals we will be visiting regularly for coffee and green tea. Toby and all his staff are very welcoming and no request is too much.

I wish I’d taken a photo!! We stopped randomly on our way home and were so pleased we did. We were not too sure when we came in the door - it’s quite eclectic but the friendly staff and the great menu made up our minds to have lunch rather than just a coffee. We chose the pork belly and were blown away by the meal we received. Very little fat, crunchy crackling and the best gravy. The mash was fab and the vegetables, especially the buttered leeks were fantastic. The meal took the right amount of time for a meal cooked from fresh and was well worth the reasonable wait. We pass this way several times a year and will definitely be making a stop here again! Cannot recommend enough. Thank you to the lovely staff who made us so welcome.

Friends told us this was a good place for Sunday lunch, so we decided to give it a try. First disappointment was no disabled parking. We saw two other groups of disabled going to or from the pub and they were all struggling. Second disappointment was the inside. It appears to be a typical English pub from the outside, but inside was more like a works canteen. Fake leather benches and chairs and too many tables. Total lack of atmosphere and very noisy because of this. Normal Roast selection so we had roast pork and nut roast. Took ages to arrive. The Yorkshire puddings were burnt beyond recognition, and the pork crackling was so hard it was uneatable. Nobody asked if everything was ok and when the server cleared the plates, she didn’t ask either. Very surly. The puddings were uninspiring and we had two Elton messes. Poor. I have given it two stars as it was slightly cheaper than others in the area and included a dessert in the price. We certainly won’t be going here again, there are lots of better places around.

Weekend away with friends and we decided to eat at the Wheatsheaf on the Saturday night and what a great choice that was. The food was stupendous. Myself and one other had a starter, mine being deep fried Brie wedges with cranberry and green leaves. Both plates were left empty. For the main course two of us opted for the tilapia with a lemon butter sauce and dauphinois potatoes, two others the maple syrup pork steak and JD had a salad which she rated as excellent. The desserts looked tempting but we settled on coffees instead. For four glasses of wine, one soft drink, two starters, five main courses and four coffees (two being specialty coffees) the bill was around the £150 mark so very good value. No matter how many times I asked the proprietor he would not allow me to sneak out the beautiful peacock sculpture which was sitting in the window!

My wife and I called in as we were travelling through Crudwell, we didn’t want a full Sunday lunch just a snack. Although they were in the middle of serving Sunday roasts it was no trouble to serve us. We both had a bacon, Brie, and cranberry sandwich with chunky chips and a few green leaves. The bread rustic and fresh, there was ample filling and the whole think was extremely tasty. The landlord was friendly and the staff efficient. Will call in again when passing. Recommended

From the moment we arrive we are made to feel like locals and Toby is always keen to check that the table we reserved is to our liking. The range of drinks on offer is comprehensive and those on draft always look very well kept when they are poured in to nice clean glasses. The food menu offers something for everyone and each dish we have tried has always been tasty and flavourfuI. I would certainly recommend trying the Sunday Lunch and saving room to try one of Debbie's delicious desserts!!! Everything on your plate has the right to be there and clean plates are always returned to the kitchen. Debbie and Toby's hard work shines through and the Wheatsheaf Inn is a huge credit to them both. I cannot recommend the Wheatsheaf Inn highly enough.

Sunday lunch had the authenticity of excellent home cooking. Veg and spuds were excellent and the meat fresh and moist . Pudding board sensible for old folgies like me - not full of rich delights. Lemon meringue was fantastic. Word of advice to owners - most places don't charge extra for yorkshire puddings whichever meat you eat these days. It seems a bit mean especially as they were small ones anyway. Good service.

Well I might have had a nicer mixed grill in the past, but I certainly can't remember when!! We go to The Wheatsheaf on occasion as it is only in the next village. I've never had a bad meal there. Last evening my wife said "why don't you have a mixed grill, you haven't had one for ages". Well what a fabulous spread; steak, gammon, sausage, chicken, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato, fried egg and chips! Real honest 'pub food' - no pretentiousness - served on a plate, not a roofing tile or a reclaimed floorboard! The chips (plenty!) were presented on the plate, not in a miniature galvanised bucket, designed to diguise the minimal number of 'fries' you are actually getting! The gammon was particularly delicious - a good thick juicy piece! The Lemon Meringue Pie was to die for.....!! Give The Wheatsheaf a try - you will not be disappointed...

I went in to eat on a miserable rainy night in June as I was staying in a hotel up the road, it looked appealing from the road so in I went.I was greeted on arrival by the owner, it was a Monday night so very quiet in the bar, I ordered a drink and had a look at the specials board.I decided to go for the the cajun steak as I love spicy food, this turned out to be a good choice, succulent steak, after I had eaten I was chatting to the owners, Toby and Debbie, very welcoming, I would definitely eat here again if I was in the area and would thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed at a local hotel for 2 nights near the Wheatsheaf Inn on 27/6/2015 for our sons wedding at the Winkworth farm venue. We had a party of eleven. WE had eaten at the Weatsheaf a couple of times previous and had no hesitation on reserving a table for our party. The Weatsheaf offers a great selection of quality pub meals and at very reasonable prices and all in our party enjoyed the meals provided and of coursethe selection of beers and wines. The landlord is very obliging and personable chapand keeps the pub spotless. Have no hesitation in recommending for quality meals

Stopped here quite by chance en route avoiding motorways from Salisbury to Tywyn. Needed to make some business phone calls so stopped for a drink and something to eat. What a good find, friendly and welcoming staff, that were happy for me to charge my phone and use the free wi-fi connection to conduct some essential business I had to see to. Blackboard choices for lunch were great and exceeded my expectations for pub grub, my jacket potato with bacon and stilton was very tasty. Thanks Wheatsheaf Inn.

A big three generation family meal was perfect in every way at the Wheatsheaf, a pub we had not been to before. We had roast beef and all the trimmings, good thick slices of tender and very flavoursome beef cooked to perfection, mouth watering roast potatoes and a great selection of veg. And for dessert, Pavlova like I have not tasted since leaving NZ 18 years ago. No one left a scrap! Great beer too, well kept and local. Agree wholeheartedly with Aberdeen John and others, this is a hidden gem, you simply must visit - very friendly, very well run with 'how do they do it for that prices' heartily recommended. We left totally stoked and will be back again someday

Good food, fair prices (less than half the price of Potting Shed dishes!) pleasant surroundings. A family pub with good food and real ale. No pretensions, just honest food and service.

Well done Toby, Debbie and staff. We have just returned to Cirencester from having an excellent Spanish theme meal which was varied, tasty and very enjoyable. The buffet gave us the opportunity of tasting different dishes, ones which we have not tried before. Looking forward to our next visit.

Called in at the Wheatsheaf whilst on the way to Malmesbury. The landlord was welcoming and most pleasant. There was a good choice of dishes on the blackboard. We shared a starter and ordered two mains. All dishes were perfectly cooked and certainly very filling.Would certainly call here again when in the Malmesbury area.

Had a lovely meal at the Wheatsheaf. The staff were friendly, the food selection was vast and all reasonably priced and most importantly the food was delicious. Good wine selection and not overpriced. Restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. Definately one of the better places we've eaten and would definately visit again if in the area.

I run a business just 5 miles away and have used this pub for business lunches a few times over the years. It never fails to please ... the food is excellent whether the main board, the lunch time fayre or at this time of the year the full Christmas menu ... and excellent value for money ... and very pleasant, and amenable staff ... in a cosy (and fairly recently redecorated?), spotless bar. Have also been after a hard week's work on the way back from the railway station and found it just as good as my lunch time experiences. So close to work and home I might just as well adopt is my local!! And can recommend it to others.

We dropped in without a booking for Sunday lunch - and were accomodated.Pleasantly surprised by the choice of roasts included in the 'Sunday special'. Food was cooked well and served by attentive and pleasant staff. Very nice beer on tap, and the Head Brewer of the ale I had happened to be having his birthday party there that lunchtime - so he obviously thinks his ales are well served there! The included pudding menu was extensive and again, well prepared and presented. The whole lot was very good value. The icing on the cake for us was the landlord. Friendly from the first - we asked about local walking routes to work off the food and he returned some time later with a personal recommendation of a circular route which he had hand-drawn for us. Try and get THAT level of service from a national chain! We shall definately return.

We go to the Wheatsheaf for our Christmas dinner every year. As a group of 15 (children and adults) the experience is first rate and magical. The food is fantastic and the staff are so accommodating and relaxed. The setting is beautiful and this is an occasion we all look forward to each December. Taste buds are twitching!

Won’t be back - coffee ok but woeful miserable staff. A smile, a bit of engagement, even eye contact makes a difference - you want to feel welcome rather than an intruder. Surely when money is tight places realise they might have to go that bit extra to encourage people to go back.

Website showed great promise. Kerbside appeal good, car parking good, service very good ( very helpful and friendly). Strange layout inside as its old building, dining room has no bar. Garden not used to its full potential, only very old tired play equipment for children. Food reasonable, 2 out of 3 meals okay. Third meal of chicken disappointing, either poor quality meat or overcooked or possibly both !!!!! Empty on a nice sunny lunchtime !!! Sorry but would not rush back.
