Very down to earth locals pub, good for watching your sports. Great outdoor smoking area for us old fools. Excellent friendly staff. I am not a regular visit on occasion each time very positive.

Being an Ashton lad the ' sheaf has been my ' go to' since l was 18 ( now 67) It has constantly been a great hub for the community and always great beers, Liz & Brian are now mein hosts and they Organise a superb Christmas meal for the 'old codgers'and delivered food to the elderly locals when COVID struck, In my book they are head and shoulders above the pubs in the area,and with live music and a great d.j Sundays what more do you want , l can't recommend this pub enough.

Only pop in occasionally when I'm getting a lift to Manchester, early afternoons. Great selection of quality beers, always a friendly welcome from bar staff. Clean spacious comfortable and warm bar. Pie and peas available, ideal for me as quick stop. Friendly locals with lots of mixed company sat at tables, watching sports channels

A bustling pub with lots of craft beer on offer. Getting served is no problem and the staff are friendly.

Very good pub with plenty real ale choices, very good prices aswell and Camra discount available. Will go back for sure...

Went to Wheatsheaf last night (6th May) with Bargain Blooze. Great pub with very friendly staff and customers. Drinks very reasonable. Can't wait to go again.

Wonderful atmosphere, full of locals and the staff are really kind and helpful.

OMG the Cheeseburger and Chips! I'm American and this was hands down the best burger I've had on this side of the pond. Served with sauteed onions, roasted tomatoes on a bed of crisp lettuce, and three onion rings... Just wow. The chips were perfect also. Absolutely a true find!

Too many screens showing too much football: a nightmare for anyone wanting a quiet drink. Otherwise, a well run pub with very good beer at reasonable prices. Clientele on the 'basic' side but none the worse for that.

A proper pub. No kids, no dogs. They even have a small food menu at competitive prices. Oh and don't forget the wood fired Pizza oven.

Good pub to watch sport, with the added advantage of much cheaper beers & spirits. Bar staff helpful and good music on every weekend. Lovely space outside, all year round but more welcome in summer. Well worth visiting.
