For reasonable food at a reasonable price, but with a good atmosphere and good beer. Defo worth a visit. If you are in to burgers, go for the Friday BOGOF deal and skip McDonald's.

Really friendly staff . Food is value for money. Unfortunately they had run out of cranberry sauce , however extra gravy was no issue.

We are 3 old friends meeting up for a Christmas drink we were served by Jennie and Elle who were extremely friendly and efficient Elle even took our photo excellent little touch. Stuart was the chef and the food was lovely and came out nice and hot. Fabulous as ever team.

Our party of four received very friendly and helpful service from Jamie and Eileen. Three of us had fish and chips which were excellent! Our visit was on a Wednesday when iHeart wines are £7.50 - a real bargain! We will certainly return.

Been here several times. Unfortunately this evening...., I, like several others in the resturant were with my children. I say Unfortunately,,, because we had to put up with drunken men shouting and swearing at the top of their voices and the staff appear to be completely oblivious. It's such a shame as this is a family pub and restaurant. Well, it used to be. Now it appears to be where the local thugs hang out. I won't be returning any time soon.

Comfortable surroundings watching premier league football. Great atmosphere. Food tasted great and was good value. I used my free and discounted drink vouchers for a great night out. The staff were friendly and engaging.

We were a large family group and everyone of us had an excellent time. The staff were accommodating and we couldn't have asked for a better venue.

Gone to our favourite restaurant, had wonderful dinner, all three of us. I had a pudding it was rather a shame. I ordered baked alaska I got a frozen cheese cake. I spoke to the manager she said that's our baked alaska.. anyone who looks on any food thing will find baked Alaska is ice cream with meringue around it . But according to the restaurant that cheese cake was baked Alaska.

Had a lovely meal in there on a quiet week night. The gent who served as was polite and helpful. The food was probably one of the best meals I've had in a weatherspoon pub. P.s the coffee was hot as well

As usual like every time I have been they did not have the items that I wanted. Crispy chicken sandwich this time asked if they had all the pudding told yes so ordered the doughnut to be told after everyone else's puddings has been bought out that they were still frozen so I couldn't have it. Very disappointing yet again

Fair to middling chain pub with okay beers. Child friendly. Lots of parking. Beer garden at the back - sadly they removed the playground.

I love the Wheatsheaf! My favourite spot to listen to MC Hammer and eat fish and chips on a Tuesday lunchtime. Excellent service and really friendly staff. Food is always great (and great value) and the ambience is 10/10.

Absolutely awful have been here for 2 nights running the first night the steak was overcooked the wrong food came out with an allergy warning and a meal was missing parts of food luckily the manager was on shift and help resolve so we thought we would give it a other chance however the second night had to take a drink back 3 times as was flat to be treated as though it was my fault, the food was dry and had no table check back to resolve and we had to ask for food that again was missing and to also be told that the scampi couldn't come with tartar sauce as they hadn't had any for days which we were not told when ordering and to top it all off we had to complain about a group sat in the bar shouting, swearing and so drunk they were falling off the seats and showing there underwear in front of my 4 year old little girl how they were allowed to get in this sate in a family friendly pub is beyond me. have used this place for many years and spent nearly £200 in 2 nights but will NEVER be returning again

This evening we came to the pub for some drinks and food. The service on the bar by jamie was incredible and thr chef Jordan who cooked was spot on with our steaks. They are all a credit to the team

Service tonight was spot on by all, definitely be returning again. The manager on shift Jamie was great help and lovely to speak to.

I had previously written a good review but the experience I just had has changed that. The bar staff and manager were very rude and argumentative if you find a fault. I would no longer recommend, you can find better service at Wetherspoons there's one not far from here!

Popped in this afternoon for a super special chicken new yorker. Served by Eilieen who advised that I could get a starter or dessert for £1. Superb, food was great. Staff were very attentive and the place was clean and tidy. Thankyou, I will return.

Great they have gluten free options and my meal was nice but there was a problem with my niece's so-called gluten free cheesecake. They had merely scraped the cream part off the reguar base by the looks of it. The crumbs were still on the underside of the cream when she turned it over. There was no base at all. That's not how gluten free works folks! Plus she paid for a cheesecake, not just the topping part. She didn't want to complain though but I think people need to be beware as food allergies are serious - in her case not badly otherwise we would've taken action.

Dreadful food, not hot. Either over cooked or undercooked. Meat really tough. Would never eat there again.

Can i just shout out to the staff who worked this evening, rushed off their feed, clearing tables, making it smell nice, making sure food was okay. The service we had from them on our table was just amazing. Constant smile on her face by Jamie and went out of her way to solve our issue with the garlic bread by offering us a free dessert. The Wheatsheaf should be proud of this young lady she works hard and goes above.

on a road trip from South Coast to pick something up .stopped in at the Wheatsheaf. Absolutely spot-on .roast was great .staff brilliant very helpful 🤩 Jamie & Luke .we had the dog with us very accommodating with bringing a bowl of water plenty of space between tables with other people having dogs with them .great Garden would highly recommend..

Why someone in the kitchen decided to tip half a ton of cinnamon on a jerk chicken is beyond me. Nutmeg? Sure a bit but Cinnamon?? Totally the wrong flavour and very overpowering. Other than that, lovely. Waiters were lovely. Kids meals lovely. Fast service. Bin the cinnamon!

10 years ago this place was a s_it pit. Today I tried again. WOW !! What a turn around. All the staff actually looked like they wanted to be there, hats off to the new manager for finding the staff that are a credit to house. I so recommend this place to all from singles to family. JUST A HEADS UP !!!! one young girl likes dropping a bottle of vodka on her big toe lol !!!. However ! that being said , thankyou for a fantastic day and evening. X . Kind regards Kevin

Just got home from a long car journey couldn't face cooking. Came to the Wheatsheaf Margate Hungry Horse for dinner. As it was Tuesday we all had the "Mix it up" what excellent value £9 and good quality I had half a roast chicken which was a good size, hot and moist. Staff very friendly and beer good (IPA). Overall very good, thanks.

We ate at 6, very busy but we found a table and the meals were excellent vfm.

Visited for lunch. It was extremely quiet. Food was nice, but portion size was small. More like a light bite menu.

Absolutely disgusting attitude from the manager today Sarah, Sunday the 11th August at 15 41. Childs meal was taken down incorrectly and the portion size was tiny, counted six chips on the plate although it was ordered from the larger childs menu. It was also logged as a vegi burger when a beyond burger was ordered. The manager came out confrontational and rude, walked off without resoving anything. My daughter had to phone from the garden to ask what was happening. She answered the phone and attitude changed when she knew it was us. My daughter asked her why she walked off and hadn't resolved it. She answered in a rude and abrupt voice, I forgot to come out to you. Shouted at us saying saying did the server repeat back to you your order, i think she did. She did not deal with the situation in a professional manner at all. We were went at fault, the order was written down wrong by the server but she spoke and acted so disrespectful. Disgusting behaviour will not be eating here again. Do not order the kids menu you will come home starving

I came for a meal this evening where nothing was of any bother for the bubberly girl behind the bar Our plate was missing some items and the girl on the bar sorted it for us which was kind of her. The service from her was spot on and everything was cleared away so we could order some puddings by the same girl. I wish I caught her name but I didn’t sorry.

We sat to eat as a family, all ordered at the same time using the app. My partner's dish came out around 10 minutes before anyone else's finally came out. The table behind us had the same issue and they were told that they are sorry but they have had multiple orders all come in at once. Considering the restaurant was around 20/30% full and most of the diners were already eating I didn't find this a valid reason for a Saturday lunch time where they should be much busier

I came with my friends today for drinks and lunch and was served by Sarah and Eileen on the bar who both have great serve. The food was spot on and the dessert was amazing.

Jamie and Ziggy were lovely. We came to the pub at 8:30pm on a Tuesday, the kitchen was closed but they kept it open for us as we came from Spain and were very hungry. They were very hospitable and the food was good.

We were served our food by Jo who was extremely friendly. She catered to all of our needs and was happy to help. She even took the time to talk to my little girl and got her some crayons so she was able to colour in her activity sheet. She even took the time to come back and check that everything was OK with our food. I feel she went above and beyond with being friendly and super helpful which made our visit extremely welcoming.

Hosted the England game, offered a great experience, was packed but offered superb and speedy service - and accommodated our needs perfectly. Would recommend!

Good food for a good price, the poor order taker was swamped, being the only one to take orders while simultaneously serving drinks. More counter staff would be great to distribute the workload and increase efficiency in taking orders.

I came here for few drinks and bit of food with some work colleagues. I can honestly say what a lovely place . Food was very reasonably priced and the fish and chips was lovely … Drinks was so cheap considering today’s prices in pub. Staff was all lovely . The young girl Lola served our food and came to check everything was ok . We will definitely be coming back

We came here last night and had an amazing evening using the pool tables. The staff were so welcoming and provided excellent service unfortunately I cannot remember there names but they were all so lovely.

Came here for a quiet drink with my sister . We couldn’t get a taxi home and the lovely girl daisy worked there offered to give us a lift home. Will definitely coming back as not been before but that was such good sevice and drinks so reasonable

Wow amazing friendly staff and a new amazing menu, my favourite place to eat. Well done wheatshef and thank you Matt for our great service today (11/10/22) !!! Edit: 30th of May 2024, I'd avoid ordering the ultimate big combo, I feel this is a rip off, it's described as an "abundance of food" we received 1 chicken goujon, 1 chicken strip 3 onions rings and 2 nuggets, salad and chips and plain nachos no sauces. When we complained the chef insisted that is how it comes out. Yet the menu also describes "goujons & chicken fillets" except when you receive it there is no "S" at the end. We finally got the abundance though by complaining and the sauces for the nachos. Sadly I think the chef might need to review the menu and spelling if that is how it comes out.

Have visited many times before but tonight's service was particularly special, Stacey went out of her way to ask me how I would like my drink, even suggesting my preferred way which I took her up on, it was delicious.

Went for Sunday lunch as we have recently moved to the area and thought the deal advertised was very good. When we arrived the man at the til said ‘alright mate ?’ I told him we had booked a table for 3pm to which he said oh you booked? She can deal with that and pointed to a lady who said follow me pointed at a table and then left. It was freezing next to sun open door and we asked if we could sit somewhere warmer and she directed us to another table. I have to add that it was May bank holiday Sunday 3pm and I wondered why the place was empty . Anyway we got our own cutlery and hubby went to the bar to order drinks and food as directed by the waitress and once again the man behind the bar said alright buddy what do you want? We both ordered the roast turkey. The picture on the menu showed a lovely full big plate of food with a large Yorkshire lots of veg and thick sliced turkey. When it arrived the turkey was two slices of round processed turkey on a roll a tiny frozen Yorkshire a spoon of mash two tiny roast potato’s a burnt stuffing ball and gravy in a small gravy boat that when you poured it it was so thick and black it was like treacle. In retrospect I really wish I had taken a picture . The entire meal filled less then half of the plate. After leaving most of it we ordered pudding as we were both hungry . I ordered apple and berry crumble which turned out to be just apple crumble and hubby ordered a donut desert that was dry and stale. Not once did anyone ask if the food was ok. I now realise why the restaurant was almost completely empty on a bank holiday. Shame as the restaurant itself is in a lovely area and has a lovely big beer garden and car park. The staff need training on how to welcome paying customers and the chef needs better instruction on food presentation and obviously only knows how to operate a microwave

Popped in here for a £5 meal, however my wife and I decided to go for the classic meal deal. Chicken Parmigiana and Steak & Ale pie. Two bottles of Beer. Total price £19.49 Fantastic value, excellent quality and great Customer service thank you to Tasha & Bailey.

We come here a fair bit and last few times we have had good experiences. The most recent one we went here for a meal as it was my wife's birthday meal with family. We took her parents who had never been before and they also very much enjoyed it. The staff were great the food came out very quickly and was pipping hot. We had puddings too. Only thing I dislike is the whole restaurant is well overdue a revamp

Manager needs to learn how to talk to people with at least an ounce of respect and sort her attitude out. It’s a shame because the rest of the staff are absolutely lovely.
