Was advised table was to big for party by manager as my party was not big enouth as there was spare chairs, bare in mind the pub is very empty and there was no need for the table we chose. Clearly this makes you feel like you do not have free choice. We did return 12 may to retry and the experience was much nicer and calmer, the service was fast and friendly untill leaving when the manager did confront me about my review of my last visit this made me feel intimidated unfortunately and ruined this experience. Up untill this the next review would have been amazing. This incident has now been raised with green king customer service.

Friendly staff and quick service Excellent food

Jamie worked incredibly hard and went above and beyond, created an enjoyable environment. Charlie was very helpful and there was no trouble asking him for anything we needed. Dan, our chef, cooked all the food we ordered to a great standard. There were no faults this evening as we celebrated my grandads birthday.

We visited this pub to watch the womens six nations (as advertised on their website) when we arrived the staff were rude and it took us asking three times to get the rugby turned on the TV. It was a disappointing experience after having booked specifically for this fixture, will not be returning

Me and my partner ordered 2 stakes his medium mine well done because I am pregnant and can't eat a medium stake. Our food was brought out by a lovely young lady who was very kind I cut into my stake and mine was medium rare. My partner cuts into his and it was well done. My partner heads up with our meals mentioning that my stake wasn't cooked properly and his was over cooked. Had we not had ordered different sized stakes we would have just swapped them. The lady who he complained to was very rude rolled her eyes at him and took the plates. Saying there was nothing wrong with our stakes. He insisted they took them back. They appeared to have thrown my stake back on the grill and it was burnt on one side but not on the other which I can accept having to have it well done what I cannot accept is the fact they then didn't change the plates so their was still blood on the plate on from where mine was undercooked previously meaning they hadn't even changed or cleaned up the plate. With myself being pregnant I do not appricate the risk posed by having the blood from the medium stake still on my plate yet I'm starving so I eat anyways. My son had a kids meal which came out in a tiny portion but I cannot complain seeing as his meal cost us only a pound.. overall we had a disappointing experience which left us feeling like we were shamed for the meal we had paid for and wanting what we had paid for.

Clean and relaxed. Sunday roast is really delicious and filling. Waiting time is 15 minutes, but it is worth it as food is freshly cooked. The outdoor area is massive, kids would love the larger space. Thank you Jamie, Elle, and Dan. Will come again in the future for a sunday dinner.

Lovely service and great customer care the team make sure everyone is looked after and that everyone is happy witch I think is great makes you feel welcome and any issues they are straight on I would visit again as this is my first visit I brought my mother in law for Mother’s Day and we had a great time and loved the food

Popped in for a drink with a business partner. Clean tidy pub

It is a perfectly adequate pub to drink in. The food is above average for the advanced microwave meal type food that places like this serve. Had some good fast food experiences but have also had some cold, red chicken before. Service is generally friendly if a little unremarkable. Speed is not a watchword here and to be honest it looks like they could do with a few more staff sometimes. The gents loos are not so good being sometimes not the best maintained and at the best of times too small and badly laid out. In one of the two loos you have to stand in the way of the door to dry your hands. The garden area has plenty of space so on good days this is not a bad place to take your children. As an ale lover you can choose between Old Speckled Hen or Green King IPA (be sure to make sure they understand that you want it southern and not with an artificial head on it). Guest ales are rare. Prices are about average. I gave up trying to open a tab with my card ages ago as the answer was always that the system was broken at the moment and they did not know when it would be fixed. I would not go out of my way to go to this pub but it is nice and close and not so bad for a drink. It is very easy to find which makes it good for meeting people for the first time. Being easy to find also makes it handy as a navigation point for giving directions. They have a weekly quiz night sometimes and it can get so crowded that they are unable to seat large groups. The regulars are all friendly and inoffensive. All-in-all an okay pub.

Great place for Sunday lunch. Dinner was so big it came on 2 plates and was absolutely delicious, too 😋

Thank you so much Jamie!!!! I booked the wrong hungry horse for my dad’s 50th by mistake ! Everyone arrived here at the arranged time as it’s where I thought I had booked 🫣and luckily enough the team were able to accommodate all 16 of us so last minute giving they already had 2 large bookings honestly forever grateful ! We were given access to the upstairs area! Couldn’t thank you enough we had an amazing time! Thanks to all the staff ! x

The staff and the atmosphere was very nice but the food was dreadful. We ordered Sunday roast and a special Indian chicken. The roast beef and turkey were terrible, I couldn't eat them, the mash was nice and the carrot, the back patios I needed to spin them out 😣, absolutely a disaster. The milkshakes were lovely.

The service from Jamie today was out of this world. The staff member is a great credit to the team and went out of her way to resolve.a problem from the chef in the kitchen. The steak was replaced by Jamie even when asked for median rare and wasn't a problem. Jamie even offered us desserts which we declined as it wasn't needed. We will be visiting again to this pub as the service was amazing

Nice little family pub to enjoy. Many varieties of food and drinks. Outdoor seating too. Staff were nice and friendly, food was lovely!

Only issue was that main meal only had one Onion ring. Otherwise very nice.

My husband and I with our grandchildren have been many times, food is always hot, and delicious, we did only have one day when my husbands steak was grissly and fatty he couldn't eat it, (and he eats most foods) but overall good service and fast .

Compared to the meal we had late 2024, which was excellent, I am sorry to say was not impressed this time. Starter and meal were more or less brought together without a break before eating the main meal. Chips were cold. The staff were pleasant but sorry to say the food was not up to standard.

Place was very clean and comfortable with a great atmosphere. Food order came within 10 minutes and was cooked to perfection. The chef on duty, Stuart, cooked my chicken to perfection...it was was tender and succulent. Macaroni cheese was very cheesy and extremely tasty. Portion sizes were perfect for the price we paid...we ordered from the £5 menu. Food was hot. Service was very friendly and not intrusive.

Come up this evening and the service from Jamie was spot on. We would recommend this pub with friends. Football and drinks were amazing.

Chain pub with fair beers and good wine. Child friendly. Lots of parking. Beer garden at the back - sadly they removed the playground in around 2021. Men's toilets are pretty horrific though.

Meal where rushed, mix up between adult and child portion,. Some veg undercooked and some meals with items missing from the set menu.

For reasonable food at a reasonable price, but with a good atmosphere and good beer. Defo worth a visit. If you are in to burgers, go for the Friday BOGOF deal and skip McDonald's.

Really friendly staff . Food is value for money. Unfortunately they had run out of cranberry sauce , however extra gravy was no issue.

Our party of four received very friendly and helpful service from Jamie and Eileen. Three of us had fish and chips which were excellent! Our visit was on a Wednesday when iHeart wines are £7.50 - a real bargain! We will certainly return.

We are 3 old friends meeting up for a Christmas drink we were served by Jennie and Elle who were extremely friendly and efficient Elle even took our photo excellent little touch. Stuart was the chef and the food was lovely and came out nice and hot. Fabulous as ever team.

Been here several times. Unfortunately this evening...., I, like several others in the resturant were with my children. I say Unfortunately,,, because we had to put up with drunken men shouting and swearing at the top of their voices and the staff appear to be completely oblivious. It's such a shame as this is a family pub and restaurant. Well, it used to be. Now it appears to be where the local thugs hang out. I won't be returning any time soon.

Gone to our favourite restaurant, had wonderful dinner, all three of us. I had a pudding it was rather a shame. I ordered baked alaska I got a frozen cheese cake. I spoke to the manager she said that's our baked alaska.. anyone who looks on any food thing will find baked Alaska is ice cream with meringue around it . But according to the restaurant that cheese cake was baked Alaska.

We were a large family group and everyone of us had an excellent time. The staff were accommodating and we couldn't have asked for a better venue.

Comfortable surroundings watching premier league football. Great atmosphere. Food tasted great and was good value. I used my free and discounted drink vouchers for a great night out. The staff were friendly and engaging.

As usual like every time I have been they did not have the items that I wanted. Crispy chicken sandwich this time asked if they had all the pudding told yes so ordered the doughnut to be told after everyone else's puddings has been bought out that they were still frozen so I couldn't have it. Very disappointing yet again
