Charcoal Grill in Thanet

I brought a lamb donner with salad here 1 night for the first time, and it was so disgusting, as when i started eating the donner meat and couldnt believe it ,,,, There was little bones inside the meat so it broke my tooth so now and painful as i found a bit of bone inside very painful than thank to the donner meat :( i was very disappointed ;( and i had to go to the dentist all the way in ashford for out of hours treatment so recommended for anyone who needs dental treatment dont go here please

Just had the best shish kebab I’ve ever had. Large lamb shish with salad and chilli sauce . Lamb cooked perfectly. These guys know what they are doing

We just didn't enjoy this one as much as usual. Second time the Pizza has been burnt on the bottom, £7 for 8 Mozzarella Sticks with hardly any cheese left after frying and everything else was just mediocre. Probably won't go back after years of good meals.

chips could have been better tasted like deep fried frozen chips but everything else was OK

The lamb shish was very small. Good quality, but would not order again. Lamb doner was spot on and garlic mayo was nice.

The two chicken burgers tasted like soap and the chips were cold.

Second time ordering and they haven’t disappointed. Both times they were delivered promptly; the food had really tender, flavorful pieces of meat, good portions without being greasy. Definitely the best kebab shop I have tried in Kent.

Food was not very nice salad seemed like it was old & not very much of it, chicken really dry, chips we're re fried the only nice part was mozzarella sticks. Very expensive too.

The lamb was burnt. I ordered battered mushrooms and got cooked plain mushrooms.

Kebab was the best I’ve had for a long time

Just got a falaffle wrap from this place and it didn't disappoint. Much better than the other flaffle wraps I've had in Margate gate. Tasty and good value for money.

Good lovely used a couple of times now and we've had different food and it's been very good.

Staff were friendly, portion sizes are tiny, prices are mental considering portion size, thankfully there is other options near by. Won’t be returning.

I bought a combination kebab chicken shish and chicken doner meat with salad and asked for chips as extra. I also ordered Halloumi kebab and chips. When I was in the shop there were 7 staff and they were very busy doing Just Eat orders or Deliveroo. When I got home my chips had not been included and the doner chicken meat was very dry. It appears that the meat must have been sitting in a warmer for a while as it was very dry and thin and tasteless. The chicken doner meat on the spit looked lovely and moist when I was waiting for the order. The chicken shish was dry and tasteless. The chilli sauce was very, very mild to the point of being tasteless. I will not be going back. They seemed too busy to care about our order. £21 wasted. The other kebeb (halloumi) was ok . A real shame.

Great kebabs. Most places are the same price. But here you get a full kebab for your money.. decent spices and tasty.. worth the 5 mile drive.

Its haven't changed. Still as good as always I didn't get any food in while but i will say they food always very good

We just came back from a concert in Dreamland so it was busy but it was quick, friendly atmosphere 😊 and myself and my family were very happy

I will never order from this place again. I ordered for collection and their 3rd party delivery service places this for collection. And yet when placing my order was asked for my delivery address. Then when contacted direct, and asked for a refund I was fobbed off..

these boys are the BEST around - the food here is second to none 🙌⭐ the service is always with a smile and greeted with great hospitality - I haven't found a place that serves kebabs better than this around Thanet - 11/10 🙌😁

I had a chicken shish, my stomach did feel a bit bad after, had stomach pain. My colleague on the other side, had a burger, immediately after he felt bad and went sick.

Sturdy kebab shop, frequently providing a decent kebab to the patrons of Westbrook and beyond. Definitely one of the better kebab shops in Margate.

The name has nothing to do with the way they are cooking as there is no charcoal cooking happening... disappointed to say the least as I was expecting more form what want's to be an authentic turkish restaurant

The service is quick and the food is always cooked to perfection. The menu is good but typically from a kebab shop. The Charcoal Grill has been there for years so it's obvious that they are doing something right.

Medium chicken doner, all salad, garlic mayonnaise. Bang tidy. I mean they do a thousand other things and service is whip quick, but the regular order is where it's at. £6 which I would say is reasonable for the quality of food.

Have given so many chances to this place and always the same result. Dry chips , dry chewy chicken. Just so disappointing. Never again.

Just want to put this out there! Ordered from Charcole grill Westbrook. Order same thing most weeks. Had it delivered this time! Burnt or not???? Asked them if they could change the chicken as I felt a bit overdone , plus after trying one piece it was drier than a Nuns Privates! In fact after they refused to change it saying there was nothing wrong with it. I gave to the dog who had to stop chewing and start gulping water! Anyway why bother saying on your website if you have a problem with our food contact us! Just to get mugged off ! £13.70 won’t kill me and I’m sure the dog enjoyed it! So here it is ! My Chicken Kebab!

Our favourite place to order from for years, whether it’s their homemade pizzas, their burgers or their kebabs. Chicken shish kebab with salad and pitta bread was delicious. Everything cooked well and their salads are always fresh. Love what they do with their red cabbage - adds a nice flavour. Generous portions too. Staff here are polite. Even their delivery guys are lovely!

I ordered online, and I made a mistake with the delivery address (I didn't check it was correct). We only realised when the driver rang to say the food was outside, and when i opened the door, It wasn't! Called them up, asking where it was and the other address had taken our order and not said anything to the driver. I rang the shop and they were lovely and even though it was my mistake and they didn't have to help us out at all, they were brilliant. We paid a smaller amount than my order came to as we'd used them before and they sent us out our meal,i t arrived very quickly, piping hot, and delicious as always. They didn't have to do that for us but I'm very happy they did.

Paid nearly £3 for garlic bread on the menu and they go any buy and cook a cheap one from a local shop! Utter disappointment! Never again

Service was quick and friendly. Ordered a combination kebab, everything tasted good. Portion size was average but too much salad for my liking. Pitta bread was left outside the box so was dry. Chips were good. 👍🏻

Avoid like the plague. Missing items when food arrived. Rang restaurant and was yelled at. Missing item sent out. Then realised wrong portions sent out. Rang again, to be threatened, screamed at, abused down the phone by one of the nastiest people I’ve ever encountered. Told they were sending men to my house. Spent the rest of the evening worried sick at every noise of a car outside incase the restaurant had followed through with their threats. Almost had to involve the police as was worried for mine and my child’s safety.

Charcoal Grill in Westbrook, is consistently great. Super flavours, excellent portion sizes, and fantastic customer service. Spotlessly clean too.... Would highly recommend.

Fast delivery,felt rushed when I ordered on the phone,had to ring back to ask price, also unfortunately there was very little taste to the kebab,needed more seasoning not the familiar rich flavour ,disappointing,will not be ordering again from here

Very good kebab house ... I ate from here a few times on a recent visit to Margate ... I chose to order from here as it looked the cleanest of all the takeaways I saw and I wasn’t disappointed :-)

How do you mess an order up when I'm standing in front of you?, and then we couldn't get through on the phone to get it changed, we travel from another part of the Island to get our food, but thats twice now you have got it wrong... time to find somewhere else... shame

Really good meat, had both doner and shish in my kebab as the combo was a good price, £8.50 I think it was. My mate recommended this place and said it was the best kebab around. Was very busy so lots of people clearly think the same. Only thing that wasn't to my personal taste, was the garlic sauce. Tasted a bit minty to me. Excellent kebab still, just had to remove some of the sauce.

Fast service and friendly staff

When I first walked into charcoal grill i expected classic kebab house and was happy to receive it. However, when i ordered my mixed meat wrap i encountered an exquisitely built construction. So many flavours. But more importantly, so. Much. Love went into it. Bravo.

We have used this take away before for burgers and have found them very good nice and tasty and cooked well. Not expensive either.

Having ordered food from here today from just eat I would definitely recommend the donner kebab. It was really nice and possibly one of the best ones I have eaten, the pizza however is a different story. The base was so thick with tomato puree that was the only flavour I could taste of my meat feast pizza, also it could of been cooked for at least a other 10mins as the cheese topping looked anaemic and had only just melted. Shame really as this was my first time ordering from here...

I phoned in to pick mine up with a 15% off my kabab was lovely it was ready for me to pick up I will lose definitely order here again

Advertise free drink after £23 then forget to send the driver out with it, then they wouldn't bring it out later... not the most professional setup...

Been using this place for a good year now never had any major problems, maybe expect to wait an hour on a friday or Saturday but food has come hot and fresh every time and has yet to come as a wrong order even when ordering for 6 people each with their unique orders.

Ordered several meals online from the extensive menu. The food arrived before the estimated time given. I had an email confirming the order and a text message to say the food was on its way. The delivery driver was extremely polite and best of all the food was piping hot. Excellent service.

This is what I have just had delivered to my house it’s a mouldy eclair. I phoned to inform the staff and they was just rude and asked me if I wanted an exchange( no way it’s mouldy) or a credit note for next time!! That won’t be happening. I asked for a refund and was told they would send money out but I would have to wait until they wasn’t busy. I didn’t even get an apology. This place is disgusting and I have been a good customer for many years and now I won’t ever go back.

We enjoyed a good meal here and would recommend the Pasha (chips, chicken donner and cheese toasted). We were impressed with the 5* hygiene. Some negatives are the that the food is a little pricey and flavours could be enhanced slightly as there isn’t much spice.

Kebab was good but only ordered from here because I really fancied deep fried garlic mushroom... What I received was mushrooms sliced put in the fryer for 5 minutes to absorb the fryer oil and then served with garlic mayo on top why the hell would anyone want to eat this! Especially seems I ordered online so got warm mayo by the time it got here!... I called to complain and get a new lot (real ones) and he said they had been on the menu like that for 10 years and that's how they make them! Please change the wording of your menu to fried mushrooms with garlic mayo.

Food is very nice, good portion sizes can't say I've ever been unhappy, however the price have seem to of shot up a fair bit some items gone up by £1 -£2 ....

Normally have no problem food has always been lovely we haven't long moved here and this restaurant fast became our favourite but tonight it was not nice meat was dry 3 meals ordered and none could be eaten any more then half

So delicious food. Best kebab shop in thanet and very happy smiley staff serving my food. I can recommend who ever leave in thanet and who ever visit to thanet. Same as a restaurant not much different than restaurant and cheaper than restaurant. I can't explain more you should try it. Be aware adopting this kebab shop ;) :)

nice fresh kebab salad chips all piping hot and delivered quickly stopped using for a while as went down hill but tried again glad we did as much improved.

Really love the kebabs from here. Also the burgers are great - we normally get them for the kids, but they looked and smelled so great I had to try one: it was awesome, I'm guessing because of that great charcoal grill taste. I've lived in some good kebab places (mostly in London): Seven Sisters, Jamaica Road, and the bottom of Church Street in Stoke Newington (the previous best); but I think Charcoal Grill matches them all. Pretty salty, I'll admit, but that is a good thing to me. Crunchy salad, tasty meat, lovely sauces: a great doner kebab! Terrific value, too. Well pleased that I have this kebabery so close.
