Atlantis Fish & Chips in Thanet

Food was bland. We didn't receive sauces and drinks we ordered, had to specifically ask for them. Self-ordered kiosk was very convenient.

Some times the chips are most off the times the chips dosnt taste that fresh and I find it expensive I stop going there I go to the another fish and chip shop and there price is alot cheaper but this one is almost double price

After a lovely day of crabbing, sun bathing and swimming at the seaside, it was topped off by fish and chips, and it was honestly one of the best fish and chips I've had. Portions were perfect, fish was amazing and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would travel back to Margate just for that!

I can here with my partner and kids wasn’t that busy but the food was ordered and received it quickly, the staff were friendly and it was nice and clean, definitely come back again when back down here

Not gonna lie but this was probarbly the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. I can’t fault it. I did have to wait about 10 minutes but that was because they were making fresh chips and it was definitely worth the wait. I ordered Cod, large chips, fish bites and scampi which came to £26. The batter is clean and crispy and it was presented in a nice box rather than the cheap paper. Would come back to here next time I go Margate

Despite the negative recent reviews, we had food from here and it was good. The chips were fresh out the fryer and the fishcake was decent and the prices are okay. £6 for sausage and chips etc

We had fish and chips but we waited a while and the fish wasn't worth the wait. The fish was uncooked and the chips were horrible. We also ordered water and juice and they didn't give the drinks to us. Overall we won't go back to this place.

The worst cod&chips I’ve ever had. Try to find a better place to eat in Margate.

They did listen to me when I asked to lower the music. I hope you extend your normal day timings till 8pm instead of 7pm. Thank you

Ordered Cod and Chips, the Cod was dry and overlooked and the chips had been reheated. Would not recommend this place at all. The fish was very bland and dried out. The chips looked like they have been cooked about 3 times. Was given good reviews on Trip Advisor, not a very good experience 😕

The food was rubbish never eat there again you eat out of cardboard cartons and wooden knife and fork if I could give a minus stars I will give 5 - stars . go to Margate go on this website first to see who's the best fish and chips as they are not

Unusual payment system where you needed to use a touchscreen order system to pay by card. While cash paid at the counter. Would have been useful to know on arrival rather than waiting in line for the counter. Very expensive for Cod and chips, served in medium sized cardboard boxed portion. Chips managed to be both dry AND soggy in the same mouthful, would probably had more consistent flavour and texture eating the box they were packed in. Cod batter was doughy and soggy, no distinct flavour beyond grease and disappointment. Enjoyed the review considerably more than the meal. Tourist trap, would not recommend. If you must, make sure you bring a good friend "misery loves company" and all that.

Fish cooked fresh but warmed up chips not very nice

Waited 40 minutes for 3 cod. Yes, they were busy but I had to constantly chase up for them as their wonderful ordering system broke down. They got the order wrong and I had to explain I ordered 3 not 2 cod. The booming music doesn't help, there was no vinegar and just badly organised. Staff were working hard, but inefficient and orders were all over the place once the machine went wrong. Cod was fair, nothing great and the chips so so. Wouldn't return in a hurry..

Had a quick visit to Margate as was buying a Car just around the corner and treated the kids to lunch, the lady serving was very nice and friendly we ordered 1 large chips and 5 sausages and battered sausages and was given boxes for each to eat at the table Good was very nice and good amount of chips will come again in the summer when we come back for a day trip.

Very very expensive, service was good, food was ok but much over priced, 60% cheaper by walking 400 yards east.

I went to Margate with some friends on a weekday for a day trip. We had been craving some fish and chips so we had a look around to see what was open. Unfortunately.. Not a lot of places were open... at lunch time... This could be because it was midday or a weekday but we found Atlantis! We ordered haddock and chips, chicken bites and chips, sausage and chips and a fish cake with some canned soda which came to a total of around £30; roughly £10 per person. We were pretty hungry and it did the job of filling us up but in all honesty there was nothing special about the food or the shop itself. The shop: The ceiling itself was missing some panels (pictured) but the place was relatively clean although did seem a little dated. The food: Honestly, kind of bland and lacked any strong taste or flavour. The chicken bites tasted like they were store bought chicken bites. The sausage was okay and the Haddock and fish cake was decent. The chips were well cut but once again, was missing some from the overall flavour. Overall, can't really complain about the food or the location seeing as there is a lack of open places for food on a weekday around lunch time but for the price, in this economy, it wasn't that bad. I would easily give it a three star should the shop itself not seem as if it were a little run down. I know this may increase the price in the future but perhaps cooking for chips in rendered beef fat would add a distinct flavour to the food and a slice of lemon with the fish wouldn't hurt either. Normally with my reviews I like to go back to the location after a few months to see if it has improved but I am unlikely to visit Morgate in the future as this was just a spare of the moment kinda day trip but I do wish the people working and running the store, all the best!

Food tasted nice however can't recommend due to the size of the adult meals. I ordered 4 kids meals and 1 adult meal. The kids meal and the adult meal were the same size. I asked the lady which was the kids and which was the adults meal and she said they are the same size. I asked what I paid extra for and the lady shrugged her shoulders. So basically paid more, didn't get a drink with the adults meal (when you do with the kids meals) and my husband ended up with about 12 chips. Absolute rip off. For that reason I won't be coming back. Very disappointed

Popped in during the day, looks very inviting from the outside, nicely decorated inside with good seating. Ordered 2 sausages and chips. Well priced and the food was amazing. Will go back when I’m next in Margate 👍

Lovely fish and chips to round off our day out at Dreamland. Reasonable prices even though in a heavy tourist location (although our mental arithmetic failed us when estimating what cash we needed!). Please note it's cash only, but there's a free to use cash machine at the back of the arcade next door.

Ordered in a real hurry and was served very quickly. Chips still warm on the train when we started eating the. And the batter sausages were really good. Would definitely recommend.

Good service despite it being very busy. Chips were lovely but ended up with a finger roll instead of a proper roll with my chip butty. My can was luke warm, probably due to high turnover on the chiller so no time to chill. Overall a good experience.

Came here as kids were hungry and we were right outside. The woman who we ordered with was so quiet that we couldn't hear her. Chips were really mushy and on the verge of cold. Fish batter was super basic and had no taste. Cash only Would not recommend

Lovely staff value for money and large potions

Overpriced. £10 for cod and chips, they refused to salt and vinegar the order (had to do it ourselves) then refused to wrap the order. So many better places to go in margate. Chips were like cardboard, freezing cold saveloy, not sure what we even payed for.

Staff were very nice and prices were pretty average for a seaside chippy. Unfortunately, the chips were cold and they were the only vegetarian option.

Realtively quick service, fish was good. Not the cheapest place tbh.

Me and my family visited Margate for the day yesterday and came to Atlantis to get fish and chips for our journey back home. All the staff were very accomodating, friendly and welcoming. The wait wasn't very long for the food and we we're kept informed about when it would be ready and where to get cutlery etc from. There were 2 members of staff that stood out which was a young boy called Tyler and an older man they were full of banter and nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely come back again as the food was on point and excellent customer service 🙂.

Are food was okay but seriously overpriced as we only ordered 2 medium cheesy chips and one cod and it came too £15, when asking for some sauce the member of staff told us it was 20p per sachet when a different member of staff had earlier said it was 10p and It was advertised as 10p on the sign, after he through a tantrum and through are mayonnaise on the floor. I would not recommend to anyone.

Waited 1 hour and a half for 2 cod and chips Very small amount of chips in a serving There was at least 20 people in the shop who were frustrated with the wait with no explanation on who’s next. People kept being pushed to the back of the que. very overpriced The look of the shop gets the attention WOUKD NOT RECOMMEND

Friendly staff, efficient. It was a long queue, but the young man handled it easily. Food wise the fish and chips was tasty and the portion size was massive! You won’t be disappointed.

Food tasted okay, the fish and chips I had way too much batter and very dry fish inside seemed like a old fried cod I had. Ordered fish bites and got chicken nuggets instead. Waste of money as I don’t eat meat. Seagulls had a treat! very busy when I went and the ticket service number helped greatly.

Our food was a bit late but that was well communicated due to sickness and so not a surprise. The food was absolutely beautiful and their delivery rider was super polite. Well worth the wait and highly recommended. Well done Atlantis!

Although my order wasn’t as hot as preferred. They offered a replacement and was really friendly regarding what had happened. Past experiences with other restaurants I was a bit apprehensive but I would recommend Atlantis fish and chips to anyone that wants great service and not a rude person telling them that they’re wrong.

I came here with my children for some lunch and had a lovely experience, very friendly welcoming staff, a smile goes a long way :) hygiene stations dotted about which is very handy in these times, food was lovely, kids meals are great for little ones and definitely filling, lovely cooked fish and lovely sausages :) will definitely come back!

Came to Atlantis during the six week holiday, to say how busy they were the service was quick and the food was lovely. There were tables to sit down and eat if you didn't want to go sit on the beach and the customer service was brilliant. Will definitely be recommending to my friends and family and will be back to enjoy the food and the atmosphere again

Missed items and chips were cold.

On a family day out and the usual place I visit was way too busy so tried here. We wish we hadn’t. Prices were very high. We had the use a napkin to wipe the grease off the savaloy, the chips were greasy too and the portions were meager. We ate the food because we were hungry and limited for time. This place is added to the ‘never go back’ list, I hope this review can save someone else the money and effort.

Tastiest fish chips! This has to be the best fish chips I’ve had in ages! Crispy fish without being too oily and the fluffiest softest fat chips! I’m so glad I trusted the good reviews on here! The lady serving us was really polite and happy even though they were really busy. They charge 10p for per sauce packet which is a little cheeky coz it’s should be free considering a fish chips is £9, anyhow way better than London prices at 30-40p per sauce! They give thick cardboard boxes so you can properly douse the chips in vinegar without having to worry that it’ll start leaking by the time you get back to the beach with your food! Highly recommended!

Decent food but poor service!. When served, I wasn't asked about the basic condiments. Salt, Vinegar, Ketchup, Mayo etc. When i received my food I asked for ketchup, Salt, Vinegar etc as you do and they told me to join the looooong queue again ask the lady at the till. By then my food was getting cold. Wasn't very pleasing having chips with no salt or condiments. They should ask if you want these at the till.

It was so refreshing to see a fast food place take the safety of their staff and customers seriously by having perspex glass across the counter and hand sanitiser being used. Accepting contactless too is hugely important as a recent place I visited was only taking cash which is crazy in this climate.Polite staff. Two young people serving who were quick and very pleasant. Only let down is no Coke Zero but honestly the nicest saveloy and chips I have eaten in years. Would highly recommend.Thank you and stay safe

Restaurant empty when we got there so was a bit reluctant to try. On entering they have a big sign, cash only. Bloke serving seemed very disinterested, and also self serving which is poor. When our food finally arrived, the chips were very greasy and cold. Fish was ok, but had better from the supermarket. Can say I won’t be returning in a hurry.

Hit and miss not my first choice but eaten there a gee times and food has been ok. Jist a bit pricey for the quality.

Fast service, ok portions, nice chips.but the price is premium due to the location of the shop, they also employ a sneaky trick to avoid providing toilets by saying the seating is provided as optional use and self service and they are cash only...draw your own conclusions

I didn’t expect Michelin star food but it was seriously disappointing! Rude uninterested staff, barely cooked chips and second rate tasteless fish. Didn’t feel great after eating here.

I’ve eaten fish and chips all over the country and indeed abroad,I will say I had cod and chips from here today,it was amazing,one of the best pieces of cod I have ever tried,could taste it was fresh,will definitely be returning,I’m local and have now found my new local,thank you.

Decent chip portion, fish looks big but is very small fillet covered in lots of batter. Bad customer service experienced, not fully clean.

Good place to sit and have some cheap and tasty fish and chips. Only downside was that they charge 10p for a tiny packet of ketchup, but I suppose that it could be worse.
