Having just moved to Didcot, I have found a home away from home. Lovely staff and friendly locals. The prices are competitive against other venues. I got to watch the semifinals of an Aunt Sally league which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. There are two well kept and lit dart boards with a counter and a pool table. Friday and Saturday nights are busy with rotating karaoke and live music. No food is served here. The beer is good and a decent cider collection is welcome. There is a large beer garden and a large outdoor seating area on the street front. Recommend a visit.

Highly recommend the wheatsheaf, went in over the weekend had a really good time. Amazing and friendly staff. Good deals on drinks!

Came here for work... Micheal is the current landlord, top bloke very welcoming. The pub looks great from top to bottom... Photos show that Micheal has this place looking very fresh, very clean and inviting The wheatsheaf Offers Pool, Darts, live sports and large beer garden, photo shows daily events that are held here... Large Carpark is shared and belongs to the pub... It is free to use (unrestricted) and has no cameras with 8 bays reserved for Sainsbury's with them having a sign saying 30mins. Great local pub but currently not serving food at this time... (This may change in the future). 😎

I got told to leave because a woman upset a male customer , unfair staff won’t be returning. nice reply! After talking to the police i had the opportunity to press charges against the man due to him and his friend attacking me and fellow people that where not regulars also backing my side. i was removed due to the police thinking it was a good idea due to there being around 5 individuals in the group the police gave me a lift home to make sure I wasn’t followed and assaulted again! thankyou for showing to everyone that your regulars are more important the the publics safety! also this is a true account been doing reviews for along time! Also i didn't try to hit someone, i got held by a headlock from behind then proceeded to get hit from the front in self defence i got the man of me and walked away. as witness by witnesses and they stated to the police.

This was once a great pub to have a drink in, unfortunately this is no longer the case. The service is hit and miss, depending on whether staff are smoking or playing pool. The landlord is rather rude to customers and lacks customer service skills, his attitude is poor which creates an unenjoyable atmosphere within the pub. It's not a welcoming pub to sit and enjoy a drink anymore. It's good they run different nights and show sport but it never seems that busy anymore.

Under new management (again but still.open!) Redecorated nice festoon lights out the front to watch the Wantage Road traffic by. Good selection of beers etc. Live music nights. Always sport on TVs.

The staff are extremely friendly and always make me feel welcome. I come down most days and always have a laugh with the staff aswell as the other customers.

A nice pub, the locals are a friendly bunch. Used to have a great range of beers and ales but sadly no more. Now sometime none at all! However apart from that good. Lots of TV screens, busy on a Saturday night!

I had a meal on Sunday with my son and it was my first meal there as they have just started doing food. The food was great, really affordable and the service was brilliant. Definitely recommend for anyone who is looking for a pub meal in the Didcot area. I’m gonna have another meal there today 👍👍👍

Love coming in to the WHEATSHEAF, always a warm welcoming, there is always lots of friendly people in, they have lots of different drinks, to choose from and many great offers. Friday nights have a karaoke/disco night can be a real laugh... Will be in there regularly 😀

Visited a few years ago, wasn't a very nice experience. Visited a couple of weeks ago, new landlord & lady, both really friendly and welcoming. Pub is cleaner, generally seems to have a better atmosphere and the beer selection is excellent, probably the best in town. Will definitely be coming back!

Since the new landlord took over the service has improved, the beer tastes better. Changes are happening for the better, simole things like decoration and tidying up. Very dog friendly, even supplied some free dog treats. Highly recommend this place.

Popped in for a short rest while travelling, quiet but that's to be expected as it was a Monday afternoon and not that long after lockdown lifted. Landlady most welcoming, toilets clean, and a lovely sunny beer garden out the back to enjoy a shandy. Fingers crossed I'll be back this way another time.

Well worth the stop over for this classic 500 year old pub. Friendly staff, big fire and fantastic Gammon and eggs. If your in the area take time out for draft and a meal.

We been there Sunday evening after having a meal in Oxford, the guy from the restaurant suggest us this nice pub just reopened close by ! We get there before 23.00 and the lady behind the counter told us that we could go away because the pub is closed, ( meanwhile talking with us, she was pouring beer for her 3 or 4 friends that was still drinking inside the premises, ) she suggest us to go to the next pub down the road, She said ::: is Better then this one :::: so you can all imagine the desire of work that this lady has !! I will fire this staff right now if I was the owner ! We won’t be back !

A friend and I met for lunch. Plenty of choice, good value, and very tasty food. We were served by a lovely lady who was very helpful. We will definitely be returning

A wonderfully traditional style pub on a Friday night, the bar staff are always very welcoming.

This is a one of the good locals pub in Didcot. Just stopped for a couple of drinks on a warm evening. Came here with my 7 month old and partner. The only reason i cant give a 5 star rating is the “family beer garden” had dog poo scattered around so I couldn’t let my son play.

Great place in the most normal town in the uk..the place is crowded during game nights.. good, friendly staff..the food is pretty good. They do have a good yard outside, especially good during summer. They do have ample parking space..it isn't a long way from didcot making it a great spot. I've come to love their burgers. During christmas season, we've had mulled wine, which was fab.. They do have ample seating and oh wait before i forget, they have a pool table, a dart board and some good old fashioned casino model game stations.. Overall a great place

Visited the village of Didcot with some friends. Encountered upon the Wheatsheaf, with a little bit of luck.First impression was, clinically clean, what are you hiding? The answer nothing.The pub is clean, fresh and with a staff that are knowledgeable, and accommodating. The facilities were immaculate, and that it why I say clinical. You can eat your food off the toilet seat.Although food was not consumed; I witnessed, a steady flow of pub regulars.Would I come again? I haven’t been kicked out yet!!

Tidy and clean pub with real ale on tap and live music every week. Darts, pool, fruit machines, smoking area and small beer garden. Live music every week. Drinks are reasonably priced.

Took my mum here which I don't think was a good idea. I'm in my 30s so didnt mind the music so much but think it was a little loud. Drinks weren't cheap as you might expect but staff were super friendly.

2ª visita, la primera vez fue en una noche de viernes, pero la camarera nos reconoció desde la primera visita. Lugareños, ambas veces locales han iniciado una charla con nosotros. Esto se está convirtiendo en nuestro sitio local. No tiene su bar de vinos de tipo snob ambiente pero es sensato adecuado pub inglés. Sin duda volveremos.

visited with my girlfriend midweek for lunch,friendly barstaff and excellent service,will recommend and definitely visit again..since then visited for evening drinks,manager is very welcoming,lovely locals and a superb atmosphere.

This building was recently refurbished. It's a shame the customers weren't refurbished at the same time.

A great working men's pub. Friendly regulars (most of whom are over 30) and talkative staff. They run upto six different real ales and are both Cask Mark registered and in the CAMRA good pub guide 2012.
