Wetherspoons Guisborough in Redcar and Cleveland

Visited with our family one lunchtime. We ordered via the app, drinks arrived promptly and food shortly after. Food was excellent value and enjoyed by all the family.

Very friendly staff, didn’t have to wait long for drinks great atmosphere and clean cutlery and lovely food will return in the near future

Enjoyable visit, although it was clearly busy in the beer garden, the service was quick. Good value and quality food and drinks enjoyed by all the family.

Really good service, fast and friendly. Helped with the app when I struggled (not a tech person). One of the better Wetherspoons I've been in.

1st time visit, very busy Saturday afternoon. Stood in the bar queue for 10-15 mins. 1 lad serving asked where all staff were, and he shrugged. Found Phil the "manager" (I use that title loosely) messing about with condiments. I told him the queue was long and there was only 1 lad serving, he just said its busy. I told him the bar staff needed help and he ignored my complaint. I watched him and he was just walking around with a trolley clearing tables (there was already a lad doing that). An overpaid glass collector was Phil . He certainly wasn't managing because if he was he would have helped where help was needed and that was behind the bar. Terrible "manager". I won't be rushing back

First visit and great relaxed atmosphere, good selection of drinks available. A big thank you to the Manager Gemma for going the extra mile to make us feel welcome & so looked after. We will be back soon.

Was greeted at our table by a very rude male employee with a long hair/ ponytale and a bired. He took our drink away as we didn't have ID we are in there most nights and look we'll above 18. Took the drinks when asked for a refund or replacements he just walked away ignoring us. When asked again he said no refunds. When bring my friends food over he was very aggressive and brought the wrong food over so my friends said its not theirs. He the came back with recipts and was very confrontational with them. He was called the food by the wrong name ended up being the issue but he persisted he was correct. We then were asked to leave Was on a proper power trip

Absolutely fantastic service and food. Staff are super efficient, friendly and the range of real ales was super impressive. Food was hot fresh and served on a hot plate.

I ordered a bbq chicken bacon and cheese panninis the bacon was all fat two small pieces of chicken no cheese no bq sauce when I complained the woman with a funny look on her face said it was OK and walked away the male manager apologised and I had a plate of cold chips instead... Never again

We went to Wetherspoons hoping for a lovely meal! Turns out to be one of the worst dishes i’ve had in quite some time… We had ordered two American cheese burgers as requested plain but made sure we specified still with the cheese. When my dish my arrived we discovered our burgers we’re deprived of cheese! When questioning this the staff then told us we had to go up to the bar and again pay for two slices of cheese if we wanted it!! This is not the first time to happen… We won’t be returning.

This Wetherspoons is a good example of the chain and as always it represents excellent value for money. We couldn’t fault the food and service. It was extremely busy when we were there (5pm on a Saturday) and we were lucky to get a table for 2. Plenty of other people who arrived later were standing. The noisiness of the environment was unbelievable but it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves without being rowdy. Despite the conditions the staff remained friendly and efficient and worked extremely hard. We didn’t have to wait for food or drinks when ordering on the app

Went against our better judgement to meet family for breakfast and it will be the last time. I would be ashamed to serve anyone what we got. Cold, frazzled egg, couldn't bite through it it was that rubbery, wilted old salad that was ready for the bin, coffee machine serving warm milk or froth but no coffee in it. Could'nt think it could have got worse than our last visit a couple of years ago but it has.

I like good food. Variety is important along with quality. A pizza is not my first choice when considering the options. The local takeaways all seem start off well then decline into thick stodgy base and over filled toppings. I was amazed when I tried the meat feast pizza at Weatherspoons Guisborough. Thin freshly stone baked, and topped to perfection with peperoni and chicken. It was as good as I've ever had, and with the drinks offer, was the perfect tasty meal. When its pizza, Weatherspoons will be my 'go to' takeaway from now on. Pittty they don't deliver. Well done Wetherspoons.

A busy eatery with a huge menu with various prices We always choose something different each time we visit.

Food was cold. Table was dirty. Cups were dirty. Wrong items on place. On the plus side staff did appologise but this is not the first time we have found this.

Couldn’t use disabled lift as told it was out of order and had to walk to fire exit in the back, only to find it is working but it is darned temperamental. Staff friendly, beer good as usual for a spoons, unlike most spoons the disabled loo is shut after use. Will definitely be back

Called in for a breakfast, wife had a coffee, she noticed that there was lipstick under the rim, i took the coffee back and pointed the lipstick out to the bar tender, it was took off me and changed, " i ll put it in to wash " No apology. My breakfast came with the sachets of butter thrown in the beans and covered in the sauce, on opening it was just liquid, i pointed this out and was given 2 fresh ones, No apology. I got my breakfast and one of the eggs my grandkids would have been happy playing with it with their duck in the bath. I had now given up and would not go back again. Sloppy service, Sloppy attitude. To add insult to injury the table was sticky and not clean

If I could leave 0 stars I would. 45 minutes after ordering food we decided to leave as the staff could still not tell us how much longer we would have to wait. It was not busy so there was no excuse for this! We were not told there would be a delay and also not given an apology once. Will never return!!!

Efficient, friendly and cheap. Well kept real ale - less than £2.50 a pint. Big indoor and outdoor space. Remarkably free of gammons. It's better than your average 'spoons.

Popped in to meet a friend on Friday afternoon about 14.30 - 6 tables outside were littered with plates, food glasses which didnt give a welcoming impression but , my goodness, when i went in!!!!!! .......I would say that at least 80% of the empty tables were full of plates, glasses, food, litter - i could not find a clean table - there appeared to be only three female staff - one walked past me 4 times whilst waiting at the bar for the only barmaid to serve with no acknowledgement or desire to serve, clear/wipe tables - then she and another just chatted in the glass washing area . I waited and waited to be served but then decided I didn't want to sit in the filth in any case and left . With a bit of energy and speed it doesn't take long to clear and wipe tables, shortage of staff or not . Disgusting

Cheap drinks and food but poor service, dirty dishes left on tables, empty glasses on all tables, slow service, dirty tables that you have to wipe yourself. Piles of dirty plates in service area, put me off ordering food. Went elsewhere.

I have been patronising this establishment since it opened and was pleased with the ambiance and choice of drinks and food. Wetherspoons is never going to be a place to inpress with it's food, but what you get is decent and good value. It is a totally different story when it comes to going there for a drink. I have been there many times when there are only twenty or so people in but the staff think that stocking shelves and chatting between themselves is more important than serving customers. I and many others have simply got fed up and walked out. The general service is mediocre at best, there have been a few good, attentive, staff but they are few and far between. The usual is to plonk your beer down and immediately turn away. Could it get any worse? A week ago I joined my son and his girlfriend for a pint. They had already been dissapointed in the attitude of a staff member. My son asked for a sample of chocolate porter (doing this normally gets a dirty look! ) the barmaid poured a drop. His girlfriend said it tasted like vinegar my son (who has worked in pubs and knows his beer), smelled it and said it was off. The barmaid stated that it couldn't possibly be off as there was still half a barrel left!! Could it get any worse?. I came in and bought a pint, drank it and just before twelve bought another. You normally are given twenty minute to drink up. Others on the table (8) still had nearly full glasses of beer and wine. Just after twelve a barmaid came over a told us we had to vacate by five past twelve. I asked why, and given no reply said it was idiotic. Two minutes later the manageress walked up to tell us we HAD to go and that I had said the barmaid was an idiot. I have eight witnesses to state I did not. I was perfectly polite, didn't shout or swear, but was told I was not welcome. Could it get any worse? I went in on Sunday night with my son to meet friends. The barman told my son that he couldn't serve me. I was barred for life. This is a pub where reporting drug taking in the toilets is ignored, numerous fights and bad language is accepted but lousy customer service is fine. I have been going to pubs for nearly fifty years and have never been barred until now.
