Wnet here yesterday. Tried the curry day meals. Ordered samosas as a side dish. These were deep fried but still frozen inside. Took these back and was just told ok will get some more. No sorry etc. New ones came piping hot so all good. Shame they tasted crap. The chicken tikka was very poor and tasteless. Pint of Doombar tasted like it was diluted and lacking taste. Overall the waitress and the place were dirty and scruffy. Will never go back to this place again. Go there at your peril YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ⚠️

I had all day brunch with a piece of black pudding when the meal arrived you think it was poor the black pudding was like bell metal it's the first time I have had crispy black pudding the rest of the meal was poor chips were older than me. No were near Spoons Standard.

I had cheese n beans jp, salad. Was very good. Fruit salad afterwards was beautiful. Very filling. Service was good too

Service was okay but the food and everything else to do with the pub was everything you'd expect from a "spoons" cheap food and drink served fairly quickly of 6/10 standard which is witherspoon across the board. Can't complain decent place

Ordered via app, 3 minutes later food was on the table. Clean, efficient, in a good location. Food was nicely presented and tasty, and the salad was fresh. Service was professional and welcoming. Value for money 👍

Advertised as serving food until 23:00. I ordered at 22:49 and got a confirmation email through. At 23:10 someone came across to me and said that the kitchen staff had all gone home early.

Spoons pizza's are the best for the price. Great for a quick bite when you're out

Always get a good brekky at Spoons, was my comment when deciding to eat here. Well,,,,,,, I was wrong! Traditional breakfast ordered, arrived cold and was quickly taken away and warmed up. Or so I thought, the plate was hot but the beans were still cold, egg was like rubber from what I presume was the microwave, the bacon was hardly cooked and the sausage had no taste. Ate the toast and left the rest. Eggs benedict was good though. Staff were freindly

Now you have the wetherspoons app the lack of bar staff is no longer a problem. No queuing at the bar for 10 mins. Table service is much better.

Tried again. Totally different experience. Served quickly. Plenty of seats. Cheap prices.

Great food, friendly staff, quick service

Lovely old converted bus station (I think). Far better than most Wetherspoon’s I’ve visited. Food and drink are to the usual good standard - great value for the price.

Typical Wetherspoons, clean and busy most of the time. Large toilet area which is of the cleanliness level you would expect for a busy place such as this. Good location in town near other bars/pubs. Main drawbacks are there is no outside seating (but do have large glass fronted doors they can open) and no car park if coming for just a meal.

Very friendly and helpful staff here. Only had a drink but seemed a nice place. Toilets weren't a mile away either.

This is a Wetherspoons. It is clean, well run, and affordable for all. The food is a good standard and will fill your belly. The drinks selection is excellent, and the proximity to both the harbour and town centre is superb. If you know Wetherspoons, then you know what to expect. If you don't, try it.

Disliked the crowds of foul mounted people drinking there.

A decent selection of drinks and beverages on offer with special deals on cocktails and spirits. They have different theme nights such as curry night and steak night, which offer deals on the selection of the night. They are a bit unreliable with the consistency of their menu as popular favourites and dietary alternatives are constantly added and then removed quite frequently.

Best Value/Food&Drink Restaurant in UK for sure , many choices as well as Vegan finally , this local at Whiteheaven specially facing the Evening Sun with their huge windows, lovely place totally recommend

We were in there Thursday night, June 6th, we ordered food and sat eating it, I finished mine n went outside to have a cigarette, my partner hadn't finished his food, he has cancer n felt sick, so he left our drinks, my bag and his half finished food on the table, when we both returned to our table all the food had been taken away and the table wiped, our drinks were still there and my bag, I spoke to a member of staff and was told I should have informed them we hadn't finished, surely they should have waited until we had actually left the table, bearing in mind our drinks and my bag were still on the table, this is the 3rd bad experience in there, won't be going bck ever

Was very busy when we visited on Sunday. Was a bank holiday weekend. Food was ok. Service was good - not too long a wait. You know what you’re getting when you visit a Wetherspoons.

Not up to spec of other branches in the chain and the onion rings that come with your meal (certain meals) elsewhere are none existent here. Service is quick and staff are friendly but general housekeeping and maintenance is lacking.

Great value food, quick service and nice place overall

My niece and I came here for a "date day" and had an amazing time. We came at one of the busiest times (Saturday afternoon of a bank holiday weekend) but everything was very smooth sailing. We ordered on the app, my niece got the chicken strip burger kids meal with chips and beans, and a glass of orange juice. I got the pasta Alfredo with a glass of white wine and added some halloumi slices on so that she could try some. Everything came quickly and was delicious, and the staff member who checked on us throughout our meal was so pleasant. My niece can't wait to go back with me at some point, it was lovely!

The most northernmost spoons point for me (guessing Whitehaven is further north than Newcastle?). Interesting history of the location on a fairly bleak, windswept, rainy day. San Miguel was off, the bar changed the barrel, better but had a strange after taste. Must have been the weather.. 😉

What’s happened??? Breakfast was stone cold. Overcooked bacon and sausage. Very disappointed and will try elsewhere from now on

Great Atmosphere and friendly staff.

Always very clean inside and the food always arrives very quickly, is hot, tasty and is great value for money.

Not a fan of the food and the atmosphere isn't too bad (if not packed to the rafters) but good for a cheap night out if your looking for one.

Surprisingly good pub grub, and reasonably priced drinks.

I came in and Sat at a table and even 1 hour later nobody cleaned the table they just walked past knowing that the table was already a mess before I arrived it's a total disgrace a chimpanzee could do far better job than the staff in here I was going to buy food aswel but no chance if they can't even clean a table there was salt all over the table with sachets of salt and pepper I will never buy food in here again.

A bit slow serving today as there was a local rugby match on and the place was heaving

We visited the town on a Sunday so we popped in to get some dinner/lunch. Great food fast delivery and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was clean and warm.

Compared to all other wetherspoons we have visited, this one has the worst food by far. Unfortunately for us it's our local.

I like this restaurant because I can order from the table.The service is quick.They could pay more attention to the cleanliness of the tables and seats.It is very loud on Frieday and Saturdays.

This is such a well positioned pub right on the front at Whitehaven. It is nicefully decorated with a good range of seating depending on group size 2 seater tables, 4 seater or large settee effects. Staff are very nice and front of house staff kept busy tidying and clearing tables. The toilets are on ground level so that is always a bonus to any spooners. Would recommend this pub and indeed a trip to Whitehaven for a grand day out.

Curry night avoid this weather they have changed cooks don't no but it was disgusting

Fish and chips afternoon special was very good value but the herb half chicken was very odd. I have had it in other venues but this was served on a plate absolutely swimming with watery stuff and with the chicken , obviously just heated in it's bag and still crushed and misshapen as it had been plopped out looking like a foetus. No grilling/ barbequing had been attempted. Perhaps the staff ( who were very pleasant) need some instruction on correct presentation. We all know that wetherspoons fare is largely microwaved but it's not usually this obvious.

Know what your going to get at a reasonable price

It was a Friday night, not the best choice we made should have known it would have been like gate crashing a youth club!

Does what Weatherspoons does well. Cheap and cheerful and good value for money. Even the speed of service at the bar doesn’t annoy me anymore, now the app is available !

The bartender (female) only wanted to serve male customers and ignored me. When the food came, for once the chips were hot 🔥 unfortunately everything else was luke warm and the steak pudding was microwaved to death. Not great.

We were just having a walk around Whitehaven with family they wanted breakfast,we just had a beer and a coffee, they said the food was good as was the service and good value for money as always in a spoons. Cheers Duncan and Helen and the family.

Not one of my favourite spoons very busy on a Friday evening not many free tables to eat not as big as some others. Service was still decent tho and can't go wrong on price of drinks!

We enjoyed steaks when we visited, they were all cooked perfectly. Value for money and very good service too. We'll go again next time in Whitehaven.

Only reason I’m giving 1 star is for the barman that tried to sort out my order. Chicken arrived frozen in the middle & mash potato was solid on the bottom. Complain & got a replacement which I’m guess the (so called) chef tried to cook to charcoal to make a point as what I could describe as a shrivelled pigeon breast arrive and was solid like the mash potato. Everyone know Wetherspoons has low standards but this place even fails to reach them.

Shocking! Took my partner for fathers day burger which has been marketed for at least 2 weeks only to be told 'no burgers'! No apology, couldnt care less attitude from senior staff.

Quick pub grub. You get what you pay for. Decent stock of beers and ales and having the windoors open is a nice touch in this heat. Decent prices too.

Good food. A standard menu so know what to expect. A good call when rushing or spending time with family and friends.

Very hit and miss with food, we've had occasions where we have gone in with a company for a works meeting and we have ordered, and the food comes out okay ( burgers/chips) but the team has become unwell after. I myself have gone in with friends / family and some of the meals would be exactly as ordered or not at all. One friend had ordered a burger with no salad and it came back with no other filling than burger meat which baffled us. Was resolved with a free drink but didn't fix the food issue. On a good day, the food can be perfect and not a single thing wrong with the entire meal and everyone leaves happy and full. Can never fault the staff there, all of them do everything they can and are always pleasant and welcoming. Happy to accommodate and happy to fix orders as much as they are allowed too. So for the bar and serving staff you can never really complain. As said definitely a hit and miss here. But I'm sure every place is like that.

Been to many weatherspons and usually pretty good. Been here a few times yet to have a good meal Probably the worst one after Bilston.

Visited twice recently for meals. Nothing on menu labelled as gluten free, so I risked ham, eggs and chips with salad. All fine. Second time I had a jacket potato with cheese and beans. The spud was well-cooked but small, and there was not enough of either topping. £1.13 extra for a tablespoon of baked beans is just not fair. Plenty of people relaxing and chatting. Nice atmosphere inside; but too many smokers around the doorway making it unpleasant for those inside. Ladies' toilets need checking more often as no paper in three cubicles. Staff were pleasant and service was quick. All in all, a good advertisement for Weatherpoons.

Didn't have large cod portions so ended up with the standard size. Tasted nice. The staff were very pleasant.
