We purchased coffees at Bodmin spoons and had a working assistance dog with us at the time, an assistance dog is a k9 which is a support dog for medical purposes is trained or is in training who escorts the keeper/ client where ever that person goes and is working and legally accepted at all establishments by law…unfortunately a little girl staff member didn’t clearly have the adequate training or knowledge to realise this and confronted us concerning the dog, upon explaining he was currently working and should not be disturbed or distracted and providing proof of his service as an E.S.D she proceeded to very rudely quite literally Chuck us all out and did not even allow us to finish our coffee’s which we just paid for and had been drinking even outside …she forced us off the premises completely under the authority of her manager supposedly …we informed her she was incorrect as was her manager who did not show his face during this entire humiliation. Unacceptable Wetherspoons.

Wasn’t that busy but ordered a meal for the 4 of us. Waited a hour and still nothing so went back up to the bar to get more drinks and asked. Said another 10 minutes but was a extra 30 minutes. Shame a few tables went and asked for their money back. Not even a sorry. When the food came it was ok. But definitely wouldn’t visit this place again

Visited this evening for about an hour from 7.30pm. Went to the Ladies, 2 out of the 3 were disgusting and unusable. I reported this to the staff. There were only a few free tables on arrival, we cleared a table and ordered our curries which were very nice. There were 3 females working but only 1 was clearing tables and taking out food. Tables around us remained uncleared for the whole of our stay. Visited the Ladies again before leaving, the 2 disgusting toilets were locked and the third toilet didn't have any toilet roll! I don't know what the manager and the 2 other females were doing although I did see one disappearing upstairs with a meal.

I have to say at first that i was not the only customer commenting on this in this wetherspoons. Got a pint of Budweiser as did someone across the aisle from me. The colour was so obviously not full lager. It was pale to almost being water like in colour. When you drank it you could taste it had been drastically watered down or that is how it tasted to me. Now of course i can't know for sure and am simply saying what happened but when i heard the man on the other table lean across to his girlfriend and say 'this has been watered down' i knew i was right. It was more water than lager. You could see it in the very pale colour and watery taste. I have no idea what happened because i'd be surprised if wetherspoons there would take the chance of watering it down but am just stating that it was very very watery in taste and very very pale in colour and more than one person noticed it. Never happened before in any other wetherspoons so would love to know why this would be and what the reason could be. Other than that a lovely wetherspoons with great ambience in a beautiful building. Didn't have some of the usual offerings you see in others but very nice just the same. The lager though.....very odd and i can't explain it.

We were staying in room only accommodation. Wethers was only around the corner so great for breakfast.We also had an evening meal here.Usual Wethers and good value.

Nice grand building. Fast service. Staff very friendly. Food and drink very reasonably priced. This place definitely not good for disabled and people with trouble with stairs.

Came here for a quick breakfast before we visited Bodmin jail. The building looks lovely from the outside but a classic Wetherspoons on the inside.

Great service and drinks, steak night was enjoyable. The building is beautiful on the outside but very small inside. Staff polite and hard working. No disabled access though unfortunately which lets it down.

came here as a stop off for bodmin jail and i found there wasn't many staff the manager was to busy checking for the track and trace it wasn't busy the table next to ours it took 35 minutes for drinks very disappointing

Visited this Wetherspoons for a quick bite to eat as we’d had a walk around Bodmin town centre prior to returning to the hotel we were staying in before dining there.Managed to find a table free but even that had piles of dirty plates and glasses on it from the previous occupants. I moved them onto a large table that was also piled high with dirty crockery.Ordered a wrap each and I ordered a San Miguel lager whilst my wife had a G & T.The drinks arrived first but my beer was totally flat and bitter tasting so I sent it straight back. It’s replacement wasn’t much better.To be fair, the wraps weren’t bad but that’s about the only positive thing I can say about our visit. Pity really as the outside of the building looked quite grand.The bar area was drab and dirty looking with rubbish piled high against the outside of one of the windows.I needed the toilet before we left and the stench of urine was overpowering. Decided not to bother.In this age of Covid awareness it should have been mandatory for each table to have been wiped prior to any new customer using a table . I’m afraid that didn’t happen either.In short,an absolutely diabolical place to visit.Don’t bother.

We went in and we were asked for ID (we had college lanyards on so you could clearly tell we were over 16) and we asked why since you need to be above 16 to eat in there without someone over the age of 18. The man refused us entry unless we had proper ID and wouldn't even accept our college ID with our date of birth on. We weren't having any alcohol anyway since we had come from college and were going back there afterwards. We then went outside and checked the website which didn't state anything which we were just told. Been to other Spoons in the area and never been asked for ID to even just sit down and have food.

Poor food and service. Busy Saturday lunchtime but short staffed. Food was poor and service wasn't good. Not value for money.

The building on the exterior is really striking, but inside admittedly could do with a bit of a deep clean.We called in for a couple of quick afternoon drinks recently and drinks ordered through the app came very quickly. I find it really interesting when a Spoons pops up in a town. It can either make or break a place. In our local town it’s totally made it and several new bars have popped up since. It’s quite the opposite in Bodmin unfortunately. Our taxi driver told us that it’s certainly killed off the business for many of the local independents. Such a shame really as Bodmin in general was very quiet.Our experience was fine. Just what you’d expect.

My wife and I like Wetherspoons but this one is truly dreadful. To start, it's shabby and grubby. Outside, it's falling to pieces. Inside, the carpets are disgusting, particularly by the windows which were also dirty. We entered and sat down at a table that hadn't been cleaned and the chairs had food on them. We placed our order - a pint of Doom Bar and a gin & tonic - using the Wetherspoons app and waited, and waited, and waited...... for half an hour. We noticed that people arriving after us had already been served. So, I went to the bar and asked about the order. 'Sorry, we've run out of Doom Bar' was the reply. Nobody had been inclined to tell me my order couldn't be completed. The G&T was sitting on a tray on the bar top, the ice having all but melted (no lemon either). I had a pint of Ruddles instead which was cheaper but never received a refund for the difference although it was offeredTim Martin, you need to close down this pub, it's tarnishing your brand.

My husband son and I decided to come here for our evening meal after a very busy day. Matt had ultimate burger and my husband had Empire State these were fine. I had butter milk chicken burger. I have had it a few times at different Wetherspoons, usually a lovely burger but not this time. It was still frozen!I took it back and my husband and son continued to eat there’s. Eventually another burger was brought up for me and this time was hot. I did get a very curt apology I think it should have been more of an apology and at least a free drink given while I waited. Very disappointed.

Popped in to the Wetherspoons at Bodmin last Monday for a quick snack. Special was 3oz Steak pannini and Drinks for a very reasonable price. Tasty food, but pub itself not very inspiring.

We used to eat here several times a month on a Sunday evening. However it began to go downhill. The place was filthy, even food splattered walls. Tables uncleared. Culminating in one night being served the most disgusting meal imaginable. Not difficult really, a brunch meal. After an everlasting wait I was given, cold chips with 2 greasy burnt to crisp eggs on top. The rest was lukewarm. I sent it back right away. We stopped going for several months. However, we thought we would give benefit of the doubt. Oh how I wish we hadn’t bothered. Tonight we ordered meals, after having to ask to have our table cleared and cleaned before we sat down. We were told it would be 20 minutes. Ok, tho it wasn’t busy in there. 35 minutes later, my husband asked at the bar where our meal was. He was told it would be an hour!!! We were contemplating getting money back and moving on, waitress then came and said they would do ours next. Foolishly we stayed. My meal of burger and chips came. Soggy flaccid looking chips, dry , cold burger and oily onion rings. None of it appeared freshly cooked or appetising. The room was cold too. I really don’t know how you can cock up such simple fayre. But they do. I really will not be eating there again. The place needs a good deep clean and a decent cook needs to be employed. I don’t know how they get away with such rubbish service and food.

The staff were Lovely and curtious. The food was very good value for the money. Didn't wait long either. The atmosphere was really good.

I don’t expect much from spoons. Plain and inexpensive fare, cheap beer, average service and clean plates.Yes...clean plates. Not much to ask for...it’s simple. Person finishes eating. Plate taken away, plate washed and sterilised and redilivered to next customer without old food , saliva and bacteria stuck to it.Sadly seems a bit too much for the multi million pound company that is Wetherspoons.Both of us felt the underside of our plates . They were crusty. Not just a little bit. So we had a look on the underside. There were cavernous valleys and mountains of dirt , old soap, finger marks and other unrecognisable things hanging on to the bottom of both plates. Now consider that those plates had been stacked. So then on closer inspection we ran our fingers around the top of our plates , yes, you guessed... crusty and rough to the touch.That was enough. I could stomach no more of.their second maybe third hand food remains. I gave up eating my breakfast of ‘miners Benedict’ mid-way. I don’t usually complain on media such as trip advisor , but did complain with graphic detail to the pleasant young lady serving . And that was as far as my complaint got....an apology from the waitress. No management coming over expressing their deepest apologies , no promises to make sure it never happens again ...no nothing.So here I am, writing this , still sitting at the scene of the food-crime.Next time you visit, do yourself and your immune system a favour....just run your hand around the edge and underside of your plate. Check to see if you have some ‘free extra side-dishes glued to your plate.These guys need some lessons in washing up as it seems it is beyond their capabilities .a big fat zero for the food.I gave 1 mark for the place being warmer than outside todayAnd another for a reasonably comfortable chair.get yr act together spoons ...that was/is disgusting.

Visited for lunch, seemed to be an Inconvenience ordering on the app. Staff were rude to those who ordered on app. Got my simple order of drinks wrong and then the rudeness started.

We go to Wetherspoons about once a week. Normally it is a cheap but fairly frustrating experience. Choice of food and drinks is extensive but service is poor. The upstairs bar is usually closed although the room is more than half full. Tables are not cleared. Went last night and upstairs bar was open and all the tables cleared. Over half of the tables were occupied and only one person looking after bar, table service and table clearing. Very surprised until we saw it was Kelly behind the bar. Have not seen her in a while. She never stops working and kept on top of everything and was also polite and helpful. More like this needed. Will keep going as long as she is on duty on the upstairs bar.Pizzas were also excellent, thin, crispy and woth lots of topping.

Our last meal here a month ago was disappointing. The pizza was soggy, sent back, then soggy and burnt. This time we decided to only have 2 portions of nachos. The menu says it comes with cheese (barely visible), guacamole (a teaspoon size portion), salsa, sour cream and sliced chillies (none)! We asked for chillies and one 'portion' was brought out, consisting of 4 slices, I went back and said we didn't have any in either bowl and then 3 slices came out for the other portion . The bar person said the kitchen said it only comes with 3 slices! Seriously??? We just won't bother again.

We stopped by after a meal for some pints and shots very cheap good service nice place would reccomend.

Whilst on holiday in Cornwall we called in here for a meal It is in a converted chapel and I was looking forward to seeing inside Sadly it is not as well kept as other Wetherspoons I have been in with Menus strewn around the entrance that presumably have been thrown down by previous visitors children Inside was not much better with uncleared tables Nevertheless we stayed there and ordered our food which was nice but a little cold I can only assume that the staff have lost heart as this is one of the Wetherspoon establishments up for sale. We did not revisit during our stay in the area

We went here when visiting Cornwall on Tuesday evening for steak club and we all enjoyed our food and ale. I really don’t know how they do it for the price, but I find it difficult to fault any of the Wetherspoon pubs I’ve eaten at. A great night out with friends.

worked hard today to tired to cook,we thought its steak night why not try spoons.two of us had a meal i had sirloin my son the rump both med rare,the meals that we had rate as two of the best value meals we have ever had tender hot and succulent, fantastic value with good service. This is such a under rated venue, two steak meals with a pint each for £20.00 pounds. so much better than a Barbican Venue in Plymouth that we had steaks in that was so tough it was not possible to eat, but the manager was so kind that she said she would inform the meat supplier that we compained, such a joke, try Bodmin it needs support.

No seating available, patrons and staff were verbally rude and not helpful at all, I would class this weatherpersons as the PITS!!!!!!!!, There needs to be a shake up at this one, would never go again.

Wetherspoons never ceases to amaze me. Good food, well cooked, fabulous building, very reasonably priced and charmingly served. Amanda is our favourite waitress and she is excellent.

We have today had food and drinks and some of the staff here are excellent and deserve the praise and they are Tommy, Cara and Katlyn. They have all made out visit more enjoyable. Thank you so much.

We ate here over Christmas. We were disappointed by the general cleanliness and were shocked at the foul language being used by the pub Manager towards a member of staff behind the bar. We were served dirty cutlery and crockery and the toilets were very unclean.
