Wetherspoons in Gateshead

This was probably the worst breakfast we have ever had. The tables and handrails on the stairs were sticky and dirty. The food was not even lukewarm but after travelling for 5 hours we ate some of it as we were starving. The toast may as well have been just bread as was barely toasted just one on side. The sausage and hash browns were aired but the rest of the breakfast was cold. Will not be revisiting. Hardly any staff about and even they didn,t look happy to be there. No smiles, no customer service.

More like a creche than a pub. Came in for a quiet pint on a Tuesday lunchtime. Quiet it wasn't. There are more children than adults, screaming and shouting whilst their so called parents stare at their phones.

This lady in weather spoon made me feel so upset because the last mocked my disabilities and I was not allowed to buy a drink ,the lady was rude and does not know how to be a manger . This lady will juge you on your lóoks . I was fed up and I felt like ending everything as I get juged .I want to have some think done about this and I'm even thinking of the news .???0

Called in while out shopping today. I ordered the scampi - having had the 'sirloin' steak a couple of days age and been very disappointed. (Grisly and tasted of garlic). My husband ordered an Ultimate burger. My scampi came - 8 pieces, but tasted o.k. However my partner's burger was burnt. It came with a solid slice of processed cheese, a bit of cold bacon and a few gherkins. He spoke to a member of staff and it was replaced by a burger that wasn't much better. Still a cold slice if processed cheese and a slice of cold bacon. If this is their 'Ultimate' burger go to McDonalds - they do a better (and much cheaper) job.

Six of us went Christmas Shopping at the Metro Centre yesterday (22nd Dec). We came in for lunch around 12.00. All of us seated together no problem, ordered the food/drinks via the app. Food was out very quickly and nothing was wrong, very impressed with the service at such a busy time

Days old chicken and soggy lettuce in the bugger, the chef must have very low standards its a very worn and out dated place, at least Mc Donalds cook them fresh

This place is always full which says a lot. Food is general pub food but lovely & quite cheap. Service can be a bit of a wait simply because they are so busy.

Called at another Wetherspoons for a drink where it was steak club day meaning that there were many offers on steaks, ribs, mixed grills etc. It wasn’t time to eat so decided to call at Wetherspoons metro centre on way home for a meal. Was told that they did not have any club days and looking at the menu the price of steaks were at least 30% more than I’d seen on the other Wetherspoons steak club menu. I realised that the food prices were different at different Wetherspoons but disappointed to discover that some don’t have club days.

Been here loads of times and never disappointed. Always full, always good atmosphere. Food always good. What more can I say. A good pit stop when out shopping. Will return soon

Very busy place, good offers on meal deals with a drink, although drinks are reasonably priced. Staff were helpful and friendly. Waiting time for meals can be long, but that is due to how busy it is. A very popular stop off point.

Popped in for a quick drink, friendly place, although a bit on the chilly side. Ideal for lunches, plenty of room.
