Came for breakfast with my friends, great food and service provided to us. The staff are extremely helpful and very knowledgeable will definitely be back.

Lovely pub great atmosphere all the staff were lovely and the food was excellent I had the mixed grill and my friend went for a bbq mac burger will definitely return.

Came with partner and mother in law as they’ve recently changed menu and it was calling to me!! Opted for the Mega Mixed Grill (pictured) was absolutely unreal!!! Everything cooked to perfection! I left a couple of chips so was quite impressed as it was huge! Partner had the mega fish and chips with scampi bread and butter. I sneaked a bit of his fish and was out of this world! Mother in law creature of habit and went for scampi and chips which she said was beautiful! Prices are fantastic and Lisa can’t do enough for us when we we go she’s lovely! See yous again soon cause there’s another 9 or 10 things I need to try! Thanks guys! ☺️

I am usually in the bridal path quite often with friends and their family but tonight I was treated like as though I was a piece of nothing. I had spent money in there like anyone else and when I asked if the bar would be open after last orders I was given a smart laugh and a smart answer. I had proceeded to say that there was no need for the answer and the person at the bar said she can hear everything. She then agreed with another customer at the bar that I had ‘left my manners across the water’. That comment is uncalled for and would even be considered discrimination under the law. I just feel that I was more than polite when asking the bar about their closing times after last orders and I think it’s even more uncalled for considering that my dad’s funeral party was held there only a month or two before and we had spent good money in this bar. I just think that this type of discreet but also open discrimination shouldn’t be allowed by such a well respected bar in the area but also by a member of your bar staff. I am honestly so enraged I have to still deal with such disgusting behaviour living here for 11 years. Many people in Blaydon and across Gateshead view me as a part of their community but tonight I felt as though I was just a piece of rubbish you’d put in a bin.

Bridal path is one of my locals and i love the place. Staff are friendly and chatty. Drinks are nice and cheap and the food is unbelievable. Lisa carr who always serves me is an absolute diamond. So nice and kind and such an amazing person! 10/10 would recommend.

Good service, and my chicken tikka masala was nice, but my partner's 10oz rump steak was the worse steak we've ever had; asked for medium/well, and it came out burnt black; you couldn't taste the meat at all, it was so charred all you could taste was charcoal - and when you cut into it/pressed it, the juices that came out were grey. The chips were the only thing on the plate that was enjoyable, since peas that came with it were undercooked

Just called in for a quick drink before going for a meal at Chutneys. Wasn't too bad, good service, plenty of seating, but was spoiled by a group of very drunken women being very loud!!

Me my partner came in 3pm afternoon sat table 9 we call in every sat afternoon as we like have few pints meal we asked for well done small steak chips each plus he ordered me side mushrooms I never received mushrooms but steak was half welldone red which put me off

Great bar, brilliant for watching sport. Lovely pint, great prices and food is spot on. A small criticism, someone near the bar had really bad body odour, i was having to hold my breath to get a drink. If it was a customer nothing much they can do about that.

Just went to meet an old friend I tending to move around Whickham but stayed all night I the bridle path. Good atmosphere and plenty of seats.

I came here with family for lunch. We had pre-booked a table. As soon as we sat down we were told that there was only one chef in who was very busy so there may be a long wait and we ended up waiting almost an hour for food to come. Obviously this wasn’t ideal but I understand these things sometimes can’t be helped and to be fair we found the staff to be quite friendly and pleasant. Can’t say the same for the food however…we all went for the all day breakfast and not one of us managed to eat even a third of what was on the plate. The bacon was pink and undercooked as were the sausages, the eggs were dripping in grease and my beans were dry and like mush. Only thing edible were the hash browns and toast. The chef was maybe just having a bad day but safe to say we won’t be coming back here for food in future despite the friendly bar staff!

Found ourselves in Whickham for the morning so decided to stop and have some lunch. Picked the Bridle Path as it looked nice and clean outside and also appeared to be busy which is always a good sign. We made the right choice. The staff were friendly and welcoming when we entered even though it was lunchtime and busy. I'd like to specifically mention Zoe, who went out of her way to run through the menu with regards to different vegetarian options and check some details with the kitchen for us. Nothing was too much trouble for her even though she was really busy. We'll definitely be back.

Good quality beers, plenty of seats and tables, and decent staff. Sometimes lacks a bit of atmosphere but it's not a bad place to watch football and racing

Visited The Bridle Path Pub for the first time and was really impressed. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. A great pub if you are wanting to watch sport and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back again.

Great pub, really nice pint pulled by Dora the bar maid, she was really friendly and gave suggestions on lager and food. Will defoz make it a regular place to go.

This is a friendly pub with some good ales and a nice menu of very good value food. They use a Carolina Reaper chilli sauce. Great with cauliflower "wings" which you can get in different sizes up to a 1kg bucket! You can also have it on a burger. The landlord is nice and will give you a warm welcome. The pub is pretty large so it is usually no problem getting a table. It is all open plan so feels very spacious.

After extensive research of pubs/cafes in the area, I started using this pub for my knit and natter group meeting about 2 years ago. The staff are all amazing, nothing is too much bother, breakfasts are the best around! I now also bring my gin group here every couple of months, I’ve never had a complaint from any of my members. And this year my knit and natter group, gin group and U3A group have all had our Christmas meal here, all meals highly successful! Thank you to all the staff! Lesley xx

Hemos usado mucho este lugar últimamente, ya que estamos haciendo una reforma también, así que es un buen lugar para escapar y relajarse. También se convertirá en nuestro pub local pronto, pensamos.

Recientemente nos mudamos a la zona y estábamos buscando un buen local con buena comida. pasamos a probarlos todos y luego encontramos el camino de Brida. Excepcional bienvenida también se extendió a nuestro perro Benji. El personal es amable y educado. La comida es muy buena, con muchas opciones, opciones veganas y vegetarianas disponibles, no puedo quejarme sobre el servicio que hemos tenido, que ha sido fabuloso. Aman a los perros y les traerán agua potable y masticarán. Los precios son muy razonables y las porciones son buenas. Creo que está listo para una renovación importante después de Navidad 2019 y espero que los perros sean bienvenidos, ya que odiaríamos tener que ir a otro lado. Si estás en la zona dale vueltas, no te decepcionará, estoy seguro.

Reservé una mesa para una comida familiar. En mi cabeza lo había mezclado con otro lugar en Whickham. Un colega del trabajo fue criado en Whickham y se sorprendió al escuchar que servían comida. Pensé que había cometido un gran gran error. Este es un pub de bebedores, sin duda, con los locales fijos en sus taburetes en el bar. PERO el personal fue excelente y amable, la comida era buena y una buena relación calidad-precio y tuvimos una muy buena comida! ¡No había mucha gente comiendo! Pero como dijo mi hermana (una vegetariana) sin duda volvería allí para comer. Y eso es un gran elogio.

Spent lots of time in here and always enjoy the drinks and I have had food here too and it's been good. Often played the quiz and have enjoyed that also.

Come here whenever I visit my family and it's always packed to the raftas. Great selection of spirits staff all friendly (although barman called me a murderer for having ice in my drambuie 😉) . Will be back again on my next visit from York.

Hadn't been to this pub for a year as last time average age was 15. So lets see whats changed?Barmen would rather serve blonde female behind you in queue as it feeds there ego than serve who is at the front of the bar and next in line. Definatley.don't like beong challenged about this and will not admot to it or that a manager is available.Doormen threaten you when you ask whyHasn't changed in years as far as service is concerned they really think you are doing them a favour.Avoid at all costs rotten to the core from bar staff to bouncers

Visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Very cosy and comfortable pub and the food is fantastic. My sister and her husband shared "The Plank" which is a variety of dishes for £9.99. Great value. I had the beef yorkie which is roast beef rolled in a Yorkshire pudding with chips, peas and gravy and it was absolutely delicious. Very filling.Lovely pub with Sky Sports on TV, friendly staff and great food - what more could you want.

Great food, great sports/ entertainment, great pints and most of all fast and friendly service. Whatever your pub needs are, the Bridle will for fill them!

Visité a Whickam con mi esposa para un funeral de amigos, y pasé la noche en un hotel a 100 m del camino de Bridle. El desayuno del hotel fue de 25 por dos, pero no pudimos enfrentarlo antes del funeral, así que fuimos a Bridle Path, alrededor de las 11. 15 a.m. Inglés completo, masivo, dos de todo, bien preparado y bien presentado. Fue excelente. 8 para dos. Vale la pena una visita y el menú de la tarde también parece atractivo.

Hadn't been in here for years so tried it out again. Had a Saturday sharing meal, we really enjoyed it! Great for the money.

Visit this pub most weekend nights and am used to the wait for service and this weekend was no different, however this week I was disgusted! With one blond female member of staff obviously drinking on duty then later in the evening VERY LOUD bouncing around the pub swearing and shouting! I personally believe she was on something that isn't on the BPs drinks menu and maybe a customer would be bared for using on the premises? This woman looks maybe mid 50s and I believe her son Micheal or Matthew works there occasionally.The management were nowhere to be seen as usual and the pub was in a disgusting state. I see the smaller guy mostly run ragged between kitchen and bar shifts. I have noticed some unpleasant changes in the last 6-12 month in the pub, staff and the lack of management presence. I was told the manageress had been there for years but I wouldn't recognise her if I saw her?!

Have been going here for quite some time and each time I have found the place to be far too overcrowdedIt is very difficult to be served at the barThe staff don't even look old enough to service drinks and the manager at the time (Darren) is extremely seedyThere is clearly some drug use taking place by the youths in the toilets here and there is a fight in the beer garden every other SaturdayDon't come here if you're looking to have a 'quiet one'

Been drinking here for about 12 years and most of the staff have been lovely, however going in a couple of days ago one of the staff (female) openly laughed at a hat I was wearing and continued to talk about it to one of the other members of staff which has had a child to her son who also works there . That is none of my business however she had no respect to me as a person or as an older person. TBH the had she was laughing at probably cost more that all her and the other barmaids outfit put together. They know who they are. But be aware anyone drinking there the staff judge you and are nasty

I had dropped in just for a drionk, but the food looked appetising so I decided to stay for a quick dinner. The food was hot and fresh and well presented, the service was quick, staff were friendly. All good.

Breakfast is only served from 11am - but until 12 (from when it is still available but at an increased price) it is honestly the best value - and best tasting full English I have experienced anywhere.Very highly recommended.

We often pop up to the Bridle Path to have a reasonably priced meal, either just the 2 of us or with our son.The food is really well priced the portions are the right size and the food very tasty, all served with a smile.If you fancy going out and having a quick meal and a couple of drinks you could do a lot worse!

This pub is lovely. The food is lovely and had great choice of nice pub food if thats what you fancy. Also it is great if you just fancy drinks and a catch up with people. There is music or a live band on at the weekends which is a bonus and it always has a great atmosphere :-)

Came here on a night out ordered 2 drinks at the bar was desperate for the loo so I quickly went and thought I could pay for my drinks when I came out (ive done it in loads of bars before thought it would not be a problem) When I came out me and my friend were confronted by this rude jobsworth manager saying that we had to leave because we wasted 2 drinks at the bar! I said I'm on the way over to pay for them now and he was like its too late being so rude and nasty about it! Kept on refering to me and my friend as she and it! So rude! Such a shame as I grew up in Whickham and went to school there so was nice to go back to my local until that happened. Lucky for us it was closing time anyways!Wont be going back there in a hurry!

Staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming.Ordered two Sunday dinners and a burger & chips. One Sunday dinner was incorrect - ordered half roast chicken and it came out as pork. Sent it back and received one small chicken breast! I was too hungry by this point to send it back again so just ate it. Veg and mashed potato were both bland and the two very small roast potatoes tasted like they had been cooked, cooled then heated up in the microwave. Burger was tasteless and overpriced.Wouldn't recommend or eat here again, I don't often leave bad reviews.

Been coming here for quite a while now and I must say the service is never good, mainly down to one individual male with the bald head and pink ear hoop is an absolute disgrace, he never looks to serve and at one point he was swearing at customers behind the bar. His attitude is basically I should not have to serve people which at the end of the day is his job, what's worse is the management tolerate this? In a competitive market place they should be doing more

My family and I have eaten here on several occasions and met here for drinks on even more. The Bridle Path is in a handy location and is generally pleasant. There is a good selection of drinks and a very varied food menu. The food is very inexpensive – it is pretty standard chain pub food and lots of items are probably pre-prepared. However I see nothing wrong with that as long as you know what you’re getting. We’ve always found it tasty, enjoyable and never been stuck for something to suit. Sunday Lunch is very nice - It comes with enormous Yorkshire puddings which certainly seem to me to be home made. Staff are friendly enough but the problem is that there never seem to be enough of them. You can have a very protracted wait to be served even when the place isn’t busy and this situation is only exacerbated when there is sport showing. However this is a small gripe and I expect we will continue to be regulars here. If we ever get the weather to enjoy it there’s a nice beer garden at the rear as well!

Tried this place for Sunday Lunch, very sizable dinner which for the price provides good value for money, despite the fact the place was very busy we didn't have to wait long to be served!!

Great location on Whickham's main street. Inside there is a large central bar area which makes it easy to get served - or so you'd think. I've lived in the area for 12 years and no matter how quiet the bar is you still have to wait to be served? Its annoying and limits my visits to about once a month if that. The beer is canny but the actual bar is far to bright. The TVs aren't the best - yet are everywhere. Whickham needs better bars/pubs considering the area.

I generally avoid chain pubs due to the mediocrity of the food. This pub is no exception. The baked potato I ordered was fresh out of the microwave and the garlic bread was as if it had come straight from the packet. The salad was ok though. I wouldn't go back; unless it was just to go for a beer.
