Came for carvery great as always, Chris on bar was perfect got everything we needed and helped us loads, will be coming back

Rude staff, really unhelpful, very pushy with ordering before you’ve even taken your coat off. I was offered food service to my room by one member of staff, turns out he was new and they’re not allowed to do that, understandable, mistakes happen. The issue was that nobody told me and I didn’t find out until 40 minutes later when I phoned to enquire as to where my dessert was and nobody gave me a ring, brought it to the reception desk, I could’ve come and collected it 20 minutes or more earlier but no, they waited until I enquired and I had to come back down and get it myself. Were they just never going to tell me and leave it to get colder and colder? Ridiculous.

Love the burgers from here, eat them almost every day!

Absolute con this place! Family pub/restaurant that has a little play area for kids to keep them occupied, 11 of us in total for food paying over £300 then also tried charging to use the little play area! Disgusting! Told them im not paying £300 for the meal and paying £4.50 each for kids to play in the small little play facility. Anywhere else this is free !

Recently visited on Mothers Day with family (9 guests) and it was the busiest we've ever saw the place. Despite all tables being occupied it was freezing cold the restaurant. 4 of our guests sat with their coats on from entering to leaving. The food is what you'd expect from pub chain restaurants. Not terrible but not very good. The male toilets had one cubicle that was out of order and there was water all over the place from what can be assumed to be an over flowing toilet or broken toilet/pipe. There was no heating in the toilets, there was no hot water from the taps and amazingly the hand dryer stayed icey cold too. I can only guess management have done everything in their power to make the running as cheap as possible which makes you wonder what corners they cut in the kitchen.

The worst brewers I've ever been too, service was slower than slow and that's if they even can be bothered, cleanliness was absolutely shocking, dirty tables even still had a used napkin I had left the previous night so tables are obviously not cleaned properly in bar area. Won't be back again

Good value if there before 6pm and getting the 2 meal deal, but portion size is much smaller now, so wouldn't pay full price

Been here a few times. Not always the best but have had a few good experiences. But today has put me right off. Brought my mother, my partner and her children for Mother’s Day. Had a table booked and was very disappointed. Got our table fine but the service was just terrible, badly organised for Mother’s Day. Waited about 15 mins to get drinks as there was only 1 person serving on bar, baring in mind this place was very busy!! After that we decided to order food. Went to order carvery and was told it was just finished. Was plenty of food left so not sure why? Was no time stated on menu as to when it would finish so ended up having to order off normal menu. Even then it was another 15 to 20 min wait to order as again only one person serving and a big queue. Then it was a 45 minute wait for food. After we finished that. There was no staff to clear table and get desserts that were ordered with the meals. We had to track someone down to get things moving. Food was fine but everything was just badly organised and they were not prepared for an occasion like this. Was some food on menu we couldn’t order as they had ran out. Badly understaffed as well. Way I saw it, was one person on bar, one person bringing food and taking away plates when done and one person greeting guests when coming in. Considering how busy it was, it wasn’t good enough. Should have had more staff in to deal with the busyness. Hopefully this is something they will fix for the next big occasion.

We came here for Mother’s Day today, first of all we waited almost half hr in the queue to be served for drinks then waited again to order food, mother in law wanted carvery however they took the carvery off at 5pm, had hardly any cocktails left, ordered brownies yet they had none. We then waited 50 mins for food, once we finished we waited another 30 mins to see a waitress and ask her for the kids desserts. Then another 20mins for these to arrive. Barely no staff, no service, massively disappointed. Wouldn’t have minded if it was like other places where we can order from the app etc but the fact that this is an expected busy day for and establishment like this and only seeing 4 members of staff! It was crazy! Will never come back!

Staff friendly good selection on menu maybe a larger selection of scotch on gantry though saying that I found a whisky to suit

Lovely little place, tucked away and not as busy as nearby Metrocentre on a weekend. Food is good, staff are lovely, and looking forward to popping into the softplay soon!

Came for food as I know the food is nice and filling. Came with 2 friends from work. Mains came out in a standard time. But the dessert took forever! We can in at 5pm and the dessert came at 7pm after waiting 45 mins from completing our mains. We ordered drinks and the servers seemed like they didn't have a clue what drinks they were making being mixed drinks. On the menu it stated Alboslute Raspberry Vodka and Cream soda. £4.60 single or double for £1.50 extra. £6.10 for a double, should have came to £18.30 which I assumed would be the case. My final bill after 30 mins of waiting for the drinks to be made came to £21.30 because after questioning the final amount I was told that I'd been charged extra for the cream soda, this wasn't included in the price. 30mins to make a drink is absolutely ridiculous, even more so whilst waiting for the drinks to be made I would have thought the desserts would have arrived or maybe at least gone cold by the time I arrived back to the table, low and behold, no desserts had been served. I'd hate to imagine how this place runs on a busy day, most of the tables were empty. Absolutely ridiculous will not be visiting again. Huge let down for Brewers Fayre.

Good food, good service, looked after well by staff, Donna W on the ball throughout. For an extra £2, couldn't resist the dessert on the meal deal to finish the night off.

Standard chain fare. Not the biggest portions for the price, but reasonable quality.

My husband and I had Sunday lunch here today as usual everything was brilliant from the food to the service and the staff . However whilst in the queue to get my lunch a lady on crutches more elderly than myself was struggling to put food on her plate , so the carver came round and helped the customer select her food she then proceeded to walk the elderly lady with her lunch to her table . The carver deserves a pat on the back and a well done and from myself who is also disabled thank you for your caring service .

It's not that the staff weren't working hard the place just needs more staff or a drinks only till or something its a nightmare when you just go for a drink and get stuck behind someone orderi g lots of food

Fab dinner just wish the beef had been cooked a little more but staff are lovely and the softplay ideal so you can relax a little while the kids play

Visited for breakfast several times in the past month, overall the breakfast is good. The quantity of food sitting under the lamps at the self-serve counter seems about right as the quality, on my visits, has been very good. The hot breakfast items have been exactly that, not dried out or soggy. The only issue I have experienced, on 4 occasions, is requesting poached eggs. It seems like there's a miscommunication between servers and the kitchen so the request for them has to be made more than once. On my most recent visit I requested them 3 times, I finished my breakfast 10 minutes before they arrived. Good value for money, great if you have kids, especially if you like juice or coffee with your food as it's included in the price, as is the continental selection.

Can't really knock the place for the price, only annoying thing is all the kids in the soft play that hadn't paid for it.

We ate here on the evening we arrived and breakfast the next day. We had the early bird deal before 6:00pm, which was a choice of mains. We had a lasagne with garlic bread and some salad, and a gammon upsized to 7 oz with fries peas and a bit of salad for just over £12 for both meals. Service was excellent friendly and very effective. We had a couple of drinks and were well looked after. The food was very nice and tasty and for the price excellent value. Breakfast was served at the table as it was quiet. The choice was great and the food was delicious hot and plentiful. Finished off with several rounds of toast and marmalade and pan chocolate. Great start to the day and once again the service was excellent.

Been here quite a few times but today the place was cold (heating did come on as we were leaving about 530) food was not very hot either but tastes nice except the fish batter was soggy. Staff were great but girl couldn’t get my loyalty card to work for mains someone helped and it worked but for deserts didn’t . Hopefully just one off will go back . If you have kids great play but for them too.

Always visit to this brewers fayre, it's warm and friendly staff, Donnaw was very helpful and always with a smile! food is always lovely and tasty. Children loved it too, especially the soft play.

I have wrote great reviews about the Derwent Crossing before, but sadly not this time. Got the mixed grill which was not even warm, yet all the meat was burnt. The sausages where pink on one side and charcoal on the other. As they we're quiet, they could not use that as an excuse. It also took ages to clear the table and management didn't seem to be bothered. Going to give this place a miss for a while.

Unfortunately, the food was not great. Several meals were unavailable, complaints made about a few dishes. The play area was the redeeming feature. No staff in play area on arrival, several members of staff chatting and not serving customers. Usually I wouldn't comment on that but it was pretty bad on this occasion.

Vegan options should be vegan. The coleslaw served with the vegan burger is NOT vegan.

It was cheap and cheerful but freezing cold. Kids loved the soft play and kids menu was great.

Had a pleasant visit for lunch. Seemed to be a shortage of staff as no-one was behind the bar when we went to order but think they were all busy serving food. The food was quite good and the prices were fair

Went in for an hour for a beer. First pint was taken back cos it was a bit 'off'. Another was started, I asked for a taste before pouring full pint, still off ! Opted for a Guinness instead which was not the best, but drinkable. Its a shame cos its an OK pub.

We booked for Christmas day lunch, five adults and three children for a 3pm sitting. They were very busy, but wow we had a fabulous lunch and the staff worked so hard! The paté, tomato soup, pulled pork Yorkshire pud amazing, the carvery was spot on ... ham (delicious), turkey (succulent and tasty) and beef (medium rare, thinly sliced and so tender!) all the vegetables were cooked to perfection and ohhh the roast potatoes were just amazing ❤️ not forgetting the wonderful puddings. I just had to say that we had a really lovely Christmas day. Many thanks to the hard working staff.

Meet there every year with family at this time of the year ,

I mean, it's fine. Service was OK, but you have to order at the bar. Burger and chips were tepid at best. The constant drone of screaming children wasn't for me. For £30 including wine I'm not sure it represents great value really.

First time back after a number of years and nothing has really changed, which is a shame. Starter or sharer nachos was pitiful to look at (forgot to get a photo, unfortunately). Stone cold, tiny dollop of sour cream barely enough to scrape together for a few bites, & cheese-flavoured sauce instead of any amount of actual cheese. Mains were great. 2 for £11.50 so definitely good value. Chips were delicious, sandwich and gammon both hot and tasty. The biggest issue was the time difference between starter & mains - easily 40+ minutes. Could be justified if it was particularly busy or we were a large group etc. but it was absolutely dead and we just ordered two of the most basic things from the cheap menu.

Moved to Rowlands Gill a couple of years ago and struggled to find a family friendly local. Brewers staff are always friendly and welcoming. Cheap and cheerful menu with really good Sunday lunch. Always feel comfortable with children and staff go above and beyond. Pop in for a cheap pint on a Friday, soft play and burger Saturday or family Sunday lunch, always consistent.

Its a budget place to eat ,staff amazing, food not so ,garlic mushrooms very disappointing as just frozen bread crumb fried ,garden peas warm and over cooked,fish ok ,sloppy chicking ok but i advise ask for crispy bacon as it tasted precooked from a packet, its a chain why expect quality on a budget, won't return

Absolutely fantastic place for a get together with family and friends for a meal or party. Food is outstanding and the plates well filled (one meal could feed two.) Kids have a play room with staff on watch. One of the best places for food. Plenty of space around tables and chairs. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Haven't been for awhile but food was really nice

I've stayed here for 1 week while I've been working away, I can honestly say the staff and the food was excellent, I've been requesting different options on the menu as I'm on a diet plan, the staff here have done everything to accommodate me. Food was brilliant cooked perfectly thank you to chefs Eddie and Mark. The manager Donna was very welcoming and polite and couldn't help me more if she tried. Excellent service from kaitlyn. Biggest thank-you is to the loverly laddies who made my 8 boiled eggs every morning and made Mr laugh Very welcoming with good energy. [ Norma, Lorraine ] Thank you again highly recommend.

Decent place, really quiet, amazing service, very funny people. Though, food was good for the rest of my family, the cheese & bacon burger was quite grim, the bread was stale, bacon was hard and crispy like some sort of wood, the beef was really tough and chewy, the salad did no taste correct, and in general tastes stale and sour, I did eventually finish it as I was starving. Would recommend coming here but just possibly don't get a burger 😂

Been to this venue many times. The staff are always happy and the manager great. Very nice atmosphere. Food always very tasty Would definitely recommend

I went here for breakfast with some friends and our babies. I was a little late so arrived on my own. I put in my car details and then was greeted by a lady who told me to come and pay first. I went and joined my friends and then helped myself to a coffee and toast from the breakfast buffet. The lady the came to order our cooked breakfasts. I ordered scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, tomato and beans. When it arrived it was luke warm. The scrambled egg was watery and had no flavour. No one came over to clear the table of empty dishes so the place felt cluttered. Staff kept looking over and every so often would come over and say the buffet was closing in X amount of minutes. It was like they were wanting us to hurry up. I won't be back again.

We had booked breakfast for 10.45 Sunday week ago, but when we had paid and sat down it looked like they had stopped dishing out food at 10.30. We had some leftovers but there was little juice and no dessert, yogurt or fruit. Just one egg each and no seconds on their 'all you can eat' buffet. Still waiting for them to get back to us after complaining on their own Web site.

Nice place and lovely friendly staff. Food not the best but we still go as we like the atmosphere. Prices have just gone up aswell which i really dont think its worth it. Especially the katsu curry, it really shouldn't have chicken goujons in it. For that price it should be pure chicken breasts🙈. Also think its missing chips or a nan bread with it. I hope they change it...But there are offers they send like 33 % off which is great.

We come regularly for meals out here and have never ever had a bad meal, the staff are all lovely. We recently had our little boys birthday party here and it was amazing value for money, food was great.. huge portions and everything was very well organised.. the girl who was in the softplay area doing the party was so lovely and I couldnt have had a better day for him, everyone commented about how good it was 😊

Had an absolutey cracking night for my wife's 60th gathering. The staff were nothing short of amazing, nothing was too much trouble . The food was excellent andthe service spot on. So I have to say a massive thank you to Donna and all the lads and lasses at Derwent, the Mrs was blown away.👍👍

We go to our local Brewers Fayre regularly and know what to expect from our booking. I have never been disappointed by our local at Hampton, Peterborough, however today's experience was appalling. We booked a table for 7 at 10.15. We arrived 10 minutes early and were told upon arrival ( before being seated ) we would have to hurry up as they shut breakfast service at 10.30. The staff were rude, obviously had an attitude towards us being there and were harassing us to hurry up and get out throughout our meal. They were happy to take our money, not provide us with half of the food usually available and usher us along and out of the door. I have never been spoken to so rudely when eating out and our children were frightened to go and get what they wanted because of the attitude towards us all. The children had all been lectured before they had sat down about how to use the service. We were glared at while we ate. We were also told to hurry up several times whilst we were eating. It all became apparent why, when they sat down and ate whatever was left just before we left. Don't accept bookings for 10.15 if service ends at 10.30. Don't try and throw out your paying customers while they eat. The whole experience was Utterly appalling, terrible service, bad attitude and a awful end to our lovely holiday. Avoid at all costs.

Went for breakfast and have never been treated so badly by anyone. Staff blatantly rude only real interest is sitting down to have their own tea and breakfast. Which they were happy to demonstrate before we had even finished eating. Shame really as most other brewers fayres are pretty good.

We came as a large party staff were very attentive and really polite.

Quick service, prices are reasonable and the staff are pleasant. Food was good and tasty and there was a good choice of seating. Well worth a visit.

Everything was amazing as we stayed for the weekend to watch all the matches at st James so obviously we had a hotel next to it but when I was eating one of the workers tried to take my plate while I was still eating so that's why it's only 3 stars

Nice place for a meal but not sure about the kids

The Brewers Fayre is well located and there is no need to leave the site. We were met at the bar by Jamie who was trying a different job as under staffed he didnt know what to do so he got Manager Donna who was full of life and very helpfull. Donna explained some of the meals and took our order which came very quickly from chef's Mark and Eddie and was done to perfection. Overall a small team but all giving the customer what they wanted and always with a smile, Well done.

Great place to walk in and dine for breakfast. All the family enjoyed a cooked breakfast. Staff were very accommodating and helpful.

Food not the best and quite expensive service was slow

Dreadful place, avoid! Signposted to "find a table and order at the bar". Intercepted by a snarky waiting staff member who looked at us like we had twa heids when we advised them we had paid upfront for a meal deal. They informed us that there were no tables for at least 30 mins, and to take a seat in the bar meantime. Unfortunately for us, the staff didnt change the signpost, so another 5 groups of customers came in after us, found selves a table and managed to order food at bar. Following complaint re this to duty manager, we procured our own table then waited 1 hr and 20 min for food, before being told there were another two orders before ours to be cooked. No-one thought to advise us either at time of ordering or during our wait that they couldn't fulfil our order due to whatever reason. Lesson learned - avoid like covid!

First off when me and my partner and 2 children (1 and 2year olds) arrived we were put on the closest table to the main door and smallest table. Then I asked to be moved. When there was no toaster you had to ask for ask from the kitchen, there was no black pudding or hash browns. And when I asked for scrambled egg for the little kids it had no taste and was full of water. It must have been from a carton.

Stayed at the Premier Inn next door and purchased a meal deal. Advised by the hotel that we didn't need to pre-book our dinner, so we went to the restaurant to be greeted by a sign that instructed us to find a table and order at the bar. Stopped in our tracks by a waitress who informed there was no availability for around 30 mins and that we should take a seat in the bar. In the interim, we watched another several parties arrive, secure their own table and order their food. After remonstrating with the shift manager about this, we were advised to find a table and order food. We waited one hour and twenty minutes for our starter before going to the bar to cancel our order and obtain a meal deal refund. Although staff were apologetic, not one of them from the point of taking our order to us cancelling it, advised us that there would be such a ridiculous wait for food!! In fact, when we cancelled our order we were advised there were still two orders before ours to be fulfilled. Staff should have accurately advised us of the long wait, then we could have made our own decision about what to do, earlier!! Put a dampner on what should have been a relaxing start to our long- anticipated family holiday. Totally shambolic, and we won't return, and nor will we recommend to others.
