Costa Coffee in Gateshead

My little grandson loves to come to Costa BLAYDON on a Saturday as he comes to see his friends and his girlfriend Becky who is lush.All the staff are very friendly and polite and nothing is a problem.

The staff are always very lovely and friendly. I’m a regular at this Costa (I get the same thing every time), so they know what I want each time. Especially one of them, who is very nice and always asks how I am. However, this Costa location looks very outdated compared to other Costa's. The chairs, decorations and other thing have been the same since it first opened in Blaydon. It is well over-due for a renovation. But, that’s my only complaint.

Food was delicious and the drinks to die for

This place looks unloved and a little tired definitely in need of a refurb. Staff were helpful and friendly, coffee decent and cakes as expected. Met a work colleague there but had to move tables due to some blissfully unaware members of the public having speaker phone conversations very loudly.

Arrived spilt and couldn't even drink it!

Ess ? What a gob she has on her, customers raise their ibrows,lose her and gain popularity.

Ordered a Raspberry mini bubble frappe but it was missing the bubbles

A great place to relax after A hectic day with A warm, and friendly welcome from the lovely staff great atmosphere with A wide selection of snacks and beverages all within the blaydon shopping precinct

The delivery driver came to my house and told me costa had closed and he offerd to come bk on Saturday and give me the coffee which is appreciated

Please stop putting cinnamon buns in bags as they are ruined when u get them. All the icing sticks to the bag and comes off. Please buy takeaway boxes for them.

Staff are very friendly good at there job and clean environment

The kitkat chocolate that came with the hot chocolate was left with hot products and melted..

Dirty, terrible service, overpriced. The cafe is dirty with used cups and trays lying around, dirty floors. Pumphreys is clean, the coffee is delicious, and the staff are nice. Go there instead!

Missing items consistently from this place, it’s a joke

As usual, far to expensive for drinks. Somehow always packed!!

They only delivered 1 sandwich when I ordered 2 and also delivered normal coke instead of Coke Zero

We visited towards the end of the day. The seats, tables and floor were filthy.

We visited late afternoon, the shop was very busy and the few empty tables were covered with dirty cups and trays, when we finally got our latte coffees, vanilla and caramel, they were awful, no flavour and even when we added some sugar they were terrible, considering we paid £12 for them and a tiny pack of biscuits we were disappointed and definitely won’t return

I like Costsa food but today whomever packed my items needs more training. They put the two iced cinnamon rolls into a paper bag with the icing away from each other so it all got stuck on the bag and ruined them. I'm not happy about this so I have requested a refund as both were ruined. Also they put the iced cinnamon buns in with a hot sausage roll! so the icing melted! Pure idocy. Disappointed

As good as any other Costa I have been to

I paid for marshmallows but left a note asking for squirty cream instead as it doesn’t give an option to add this. Clearly my note was not acknowledged as they arrived with marshmallows and no cream!

often short of everything , cake , croissants , whole milk . The customer services never reply to the concerns raised . They basically have to customer services . Costa in general a very poor choice of coffee shops , with the likes of Starbucks , Caffe Nero etc

There was an item missing and I tried many times to contact the store but it was permanently engaged. Just eat said they would refund the money but they havnt done so

Ordered a drink and a snack only the drink has been delivered, realises before the delivery driver left, flagged him down to be told there’s nothing he can do, which I understand. Advised to call which I’ve attempted to do only to be cut off multiple times without being answered. This is the second occasion in a matter of weeks I’ve had issues using just eat after years of no issue.

Absolutely 5 star. Nothing missed, hot stuff hot and the cold stuff cold. Thank you.

I actually witnessed a blonde girl open a cream carton with her teeth yes her teeth, seriously, if that had been my order it would have gone straight back, I think it’s time to find a different coffee shop, prices up, 10 beans instead of 8 before you get you free drink & now, these large companies need to understand that good news travels slower than bad. Disgusting

Went in for coffee and toast this morning. After I'd ordered and paid £5 for a latte and one slice of toast, I was told they had no butter!! Seriously? No apology or alternative offered, so had a thick slice of toast with jam and no butter! Can't believe its so badly manged they've run out of a basic essential. I'm afraid it will be greggs or macdonalds for coffee next time.

Service was great, staff member remembered me and my order without error. Got a flat white, a latte and a tasty pastry ... very nice 😋 Keep up the great work 👍

everything was great apart from the fact the bacon and poached egg sandwich we ordered was missing the egg! So I got overcharged for a bacon sandwich the drinks were great though

The dirtiest Costa I’ve ever had the displeasure of entering. The cutlery I was given obviously hadn’t seen water let alone detergent so did not use. Tables remained uncleared the whole time I was there and the staff idle behind the counter. The manager was leaving whilst I was there leaving the tables dirty, sugar station looking like a mini bomb had gone off and the staff looking at their phones. Behind the service counter it was disorganised, messy and the staff who were I suppose trying their best need to be retrained. I like Costa but this place is a 0 out of 10 for what they charge. For the price I’m expecting not just good coffee and food but excellent service in a CLEAN tidy environment. I did not linger once I’d finished my food as this place is not relaxing when you can see the chaos and mess👎

Came here tonight after working non stop for weeks, I’d promised my daughter we would come down to be stood waiting while 2 members of staff started stocking shelves! No one else waiting , girl behind the desk said I won’t be long and continued stacking shelves while we were stood for ages …… , not one of them thought it would be a good idea to serve their customers rather than have them stand waiting for shelves to be stocked ! I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money at this shop over just eat and after walking away with nothing tonight , I won’t spend another penny here ! As you can see by the reviews the service is terrible . This shop needs a big manager to come in and sort it out .

I ordered a Latte and two veg Cheese Tomato toasties. I got sent two Ham and Cheese toasties instead. The coffee was good but disappointed to have missed my breakfast. When I called Costa, they said they didn’t have any Cheese Tomato toasties and was quite non apologetic for the mistake. :/ wish they had just cancelled the order for toasties if they didn’t have any instead of sending the wrong ones, which now goes to waste and putting me through the hassle of applying for refund by emailing photos etc to JustEat.

This branch of the well known coffee chain is situated in the Blaydon precinct of Gateshead yards from the bus station and has a large number of comfy seats all around which some locals appear to treat as a library as they had their heads in books and seemed settled for an hour or two Staff veey friendly and brought my coffee to the table as I'm disabled Handy for nearby shops and nearby rail station has frequent services to Gateshead Metrocentre Hexham and Carlisle or Newcastle Sunderland and Middlesbrough with connections to London and Aberdeen

Bought x2 Costa Rollo hot chocolate, no Rollo's no caramel, surely you should tell customers that there's no Rollo's before serving (False advertising).

Really friendly staff and they were entertaining to my five year old.

Sent wrong breakfast, ordered 2 sausage baps, got 1 bacon, 1 sausage. Luckily we like both but not what we ordered.

We didn't get what we ordered. We got someone else's order. Rang Costa they said it was delivery drivers fault so won't be sending out our order. Coffee was cold also so need a full refund. Took photos of wrong order sent to us

Delivery was superb, sausage sandwiches were great. Only complaint was with the coffees. They were only half full, had no sugar and had no chocolate on which we had selected. Please do better and make what people order.

Not my favourite coffee shops. Coffee is quite good but not anything special. Dislike the wait to get served, gone for a coffee for a sit down and relax not to stand bored.

I love this Costa! The staff are all great and very friendly! Although all of them are experts coffee- makers, Susy, Jake and Kaya make the best drinks ever! . . . PS- I’m sorry to say this but if Tanya is behind the counter making drinks- AVOID!!!!!! The only times I’ve had poor quality drinks here are unfortunately when she’s made it.

I really like this Costa and am a regular here..the staff are exceptional and that’s what makes all the difference! They remember your go-to drinks and always engage in a friendly chat, adding a personal touch to your visit here!

As always, a smile, courtesy and assistance as required, all quietly efficient and without fuss. This Blaydon branch has a wide regular clientele Well Done 8 June 22 Yet another visit and, while the staff were different, there were still smiles and the same courtesy and attention 10/10

Decent sized Costa coffee. There is free parking just outside next to the McDonald's. Toilets on site.

Nice coffee & cakes but getting expensive

Nobody's fault but the toastie was freezing and the bread was chewy when it got here. Drink spot on and service great.

2 buns had 4 sausages in and 2 buns had 3 sausages in....not very good quality control and you've just diddled us out of what we pay for. I buy these all the time so i know they are supposed to have 4 sausages in each.....shoddy work Costa Blaydon and with a regular customer. Need you to rectify this and reporting to Just Eat. Not good enough.

Nipped in for a quick coffee early in the day, was very quiet first thing, staff just getting set up. Couple of people on laptops working but otherwise empty at around 8:30am on a weekday. Always find the coffee a bit weaker at Costa than other major chains

Used to be my favourite Costa (as the seating area is spacious and comfy with lots of natural light) but it seems to have gone downhill and a bit tired and worn out recently. Very limited food section. I'd gone in to get food and drink to take away, but there were only two sandwiches left at 11:30am, both of which had limited use by dates so weren't put on display that morning, no other sandwiches, no salads, no other savoury M&S snacks - only things like paninis and bacon rolls which had to be heated instore. The staff behind the counter though are always lovely, polite and efficient.

The tea should be served to prisoners so that they learn the error of their ways. Over priced cakes weren't bad but no value.

Dirty little cafe. 2 members of staff more interested in arguing about who’s turn it was to clean up! They have no idea what working is. Asked for takeaway, got drink in then the solution was to pour it into a takeaway cup except spilled the majority. Completely refused to top up! Really, really bad

Great staff very friendly and very accomodating for disabled people. Very clean comfy seats and good size tables would reccomend this place to anyone. Luca and Susie very friendy and happy can have a joke with all the staff while being professional 👏 😊👍

We had a latte and a iced coffee with caramel shot .... sorry but the latte tasted like warm milk and the iced coffee tasted like artificial sweeteners with no coffee in it! Worse tasting costa (blaydon) we've been to !

We enjoyed a coffee after shopping. The staff are wonderful. Couldn't be more helpful. The surroundings however are awful, worn, stained and grubby. All the cleaning in the world would not help. They need to be replaced.

Very friendly staff who let me use the toilets when my children needed the loo even though I didn't buy anything 👍

Driver was grumpy and impatient.

Chicken Wrap was missing and Tuna sandwich was covered in something orange which shop said was off a knife they used to cut a chicken wrap and then cut the tuna sandwich

Really poor service. Items missing, Costa advised me to order again, pay a second delivery charge ("not their fault just eat charge for delivery" apparently) and then left items off the order for a second time! Disgusting

I was working in this area today and had a excellent service from a lad called Luka very polite and walming gave good credit to Costa and will definitely go far highly recommend Blaydon Costa from my experience

The Coffee Shop was clean tidy and staff was very pleasant my first time in and happy to go again

Not bad, when I visited though the guy working there on Thursday 24th February 2022 (in the Morning) was more interested flirting with the ladies on his shift who worked there than welcoming me :(

cold coffee and food, not happy at all, driver said there was a system crash.

Ordered a tea and cake, 15 mins later, tray still sat on counter with no tea so asked and they made it, no apology, they just blamed eachother. No napkins given so had to ask. No cutlery given so had to ask. Staff were shouting across to another member of staff who wasn’t on shift. Staff seemed like they couldn’t be bothered to be there. One staff member was sticking her middle finger up out the window at someone she knew. I was made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable just by being there and won’t be returning. It was awful.

missing half the items £10s worth and how was only half the toastie toasted!? How is that even possible! Absolutely disgusting that this day and age you cant read an order right and put it in a bag. you are very expensive compared to others, so I expected better service. first and last time ordering from here. very disappointed.
