Wetherspoon in Basildon

rude service unprofessional staff, dirty cutlery, staff not wearing hair nets and also dancing in the kitchen,

first I want to say that I was not expecting this at all first all seemed fine we ordered are drinks then we stood around the bar just talking then staff asked to sit down because of safety risk which we all said fine we will sit down but after that the staff came back over to us and asked out of know where to get up and leave after we finished are drinks which I thought was crazy seeing as we did not do anything but move when they asked us but when I asked what we did apparently the staff said we were argumentative and aggressive which was just crazy so I will not be going back seeing as the staff were very unpleasant for no reason seeing as we did what they wanted in the first place

As a ferm.wetherspoons fan I always go to wetherspoons if there is one available. I went to this one on Friday 31st March for Lunch along with 5 other family members. Had a job to find a table to seat 6 people. Once we chose what we wanted to eat went to the bar to order,had to que for at least 15 min to get served.Only 1 bar staff serving ,occasionally 2 but most of the time only 1. I ordered the Steak and Kidney pudding and My wife wanted a small Ham ,egg ,and chips . After waiting for half an hour the food eventually arrived, my wife's was a large meal not the small as ordered. My steak a Kidney pudding had been heated up in an oven and the pastry was hard Not like a pudding g should be ,I also ordered mash potato and I got chips Very limited choice of 0% beers . Overall very disappointed and won't being go there again.

Terrible breakfast. 9.25am.complained bacon so burnt and hard. They changed it for bacon that was hardly any different. Sausage hard, beans cold, all pre cooked, very cheap produce. Only good thing tea you could get a second cup. Staff clearly not happy in their job. Didnt deserve any stars but had no choice to leave 1.

Waitress bought food over I had curry and asked for spoon which she said she would get. My partner told her the cutlery was dirty she said it was clean without looking . She went onto cleat another table making us wait for our cutlery and when I said out our food being hot she said Jesus christ so my partner went with her to get the cutlery. She was rude arrogant and lacks any customer service skills.

We had a lovely family meal out early Tuesday dinner using the Wetherspoons app this make visit smooth staff were friendly and helpful only downside 1 member of family wanted steak well done and this is not an option on the app

Compared with most Whetherspoon pubs this is a much better bar/restaurant. We found it to be very clean and not too crowded. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. As always, a very good selection of beers and prices reasonable. Will visit again soon.

Three of us from work came here for lunch as it was a new job for me and I was getting to know two colleagues I would be working closely with. Ordering is simple, the choices are consistently confusing (!), the service was good, as was the food. I've never been disappointed with this chain, and this being first visit to this one, did not disappoint.

Nice atmosphere compared with other Wetherspoon establishments. Set Menus offering a fair selection and meeting most requirements.

Popped in here for a drink before dinner. My wife, friend and I had a double G&T each. Total cost just over £11. Brilliant. Planned to come back after dinner but too stuffed.

Had a meal there last night and a few beers Went out side for a cigarette at 1050 .. Started to light up and o e door staff asked are you coming back in if so you better put it Out or you can't come back in.... So we did while re entering was met with another door staff ...this time he said we're close ..I said we still have drink in the back And he said tooo late we're closed I said I just had a meal went side leds than 1 minute and was rushed in ... And he was very angry by now as if he wanted to fight me then the door staff from The out side had came in and told him it was ok ... Then I said to both the door says you close 1130 don't it ??? Hmmm must be in a hurry to go home .. It don't seem to have any management there To supervise those idiots

Steak and chips for under £10 and you get a drink with it! How can you beat this? I now go once a week and just love the Ultimate burger and I get a pint of beer with it for around £8 !! It hits the spot!!

The Blue Boar is a smart Wetherspoons with plenty of comfortable seating. An excellent selection of real ale and cider , always well looked after. Great value food and a quick service. My only moan is the bar seems to lack atmosphere and you can't seem to blend in . I do not know why this is , the staff are pleasant , must be the regular clientelle.

We live 10 minutes walk from this restaurant and it is a convenient meeting place for friends - particularly curry night - and they do a good curry. Being close by we often have breakfast there - good value and plentiful but regrettably generally luke warm and served on a cold plate it gets cold very quickly. It should not be difficult to serve up a hot breakfast - in particular as the restaurant is quite quiet at that time. The coffee is great, plenty of varieties and free refills. The heating is not all that good - sometimes a bit cool in there and have to keep coats on! Generally polite and good service

Very convenient location in the High Street meeting the needs for a quick drink and/or meal. Very spacious with window seats at the fore and a garden area at the rear. Despite a lot of people bring there the meals were served very quickly.

Enjoyed meal, good range of real ale, friendly staff. Be careful about parking, a car park behind the pub looks like you have to pay, and the council car park none of the machines were working meaning you had to pay by phone

I've been here several times Over the past few weeks. The service is friendly and efficient. Beer good in the night, coffee in the day.

Used Wetherspoon elsewhere and always been satisfied. Was not disappointed,good beer. But parking out side on there land to go to the pub is by NCP and you pay to use the pub, do not get it back even if you buy a drink , best to to by train as it is by the station

Hadn't tried here to eat before, although eaten in Wetherspoon elsewhere and always been satisfied. Was very disappointed, had a jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise. Potato was really dry, tuna tasted watery , not creamy as expected. Salad was limp,
