Been here a few times for lunch,there's cheap and cheerful and there's cheap.ordered a couple of Sunday roasts (after original choices where unavailable).potatoes where cheap frozen brand ,carrots must of just come straight from the garden,uncooked,could of fitted the mash on a teaspoon. Can't get a larger in it's own brand glass,just straight glass.Never again.

Food was reasonably priced, depending on which day you go, they have different offers etc

The women's toilets smell like a drain! Honestly going to the toilet at a festival is on the same level.

Not the best place to go food is a lucky dip sometimes good over times not can be rough at night

We went there yesterday for an evening birthday celebration! The food was hit & miss depending what you ordered. Fries & onion rings were cold some of the party had chicken which looked very anemic & wasn’t nice. Although it’s cheap it shouldn’t have spoiled the quality. Staff must be lazy as there was food on the floor everywhere, tables still had plates etc on them! The whole place needs cleaning & refurbished. I would have preferred to pay more if the food was a lot better!!!

Came here without a booking mid week. Had a choice of tables, no problem. Placed our orders online via the app, recieved our orders, again no problems, no complaints. The kids shared a candy mania, think that was their favourite part. Lol.

Decent all around for a good drink. Can get a bit rowdy and busy during peak times. Offer great deals on certain days.

Popped in for Sunday lunch and a pint. The bar staff were so friendly and helpful, and the place has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food was spot on, best roast beef I’ve had in years, compliments to the chef.

Cheap food but reflected in the quality and service.

Had to change the review as it was written before the food arrived. Not busy at all in the restaurant but somehow the food took nearly an hour to come out to our table. The food wasn't very warm , my burger bun was dry and quite hard and my partners chicken was also really dry. The chips we both had were not that warm either. For what it cost compared to the food quality, I wished I'd gone to McDonald's. I have to say that the bar staff were very friendly.

Food was absolutely awful, would rather go to mc Donald’s! When our side came out as a starter we was shrugged and told to enjoy! And remarks from other customers that my daughter is going to be a stripper (she’s 8) because of the way she went down the fireman’s pole on the playground! Will 100% not be coming back! Worst place I have ever been in my life!

Staff are committed and great value for money. Could do with faster service at the bar but always enjoy myself there.

The staff were friendly and the pub itself was spacious, which was a plus. However, the food wasn't great - mine was lukewarm unfortunately. I also saw some dirty dishes around, and the wait time for food was quite long. Overall, it seems like a better place for drinks and catching up with friends than a proper meal.

A place that is last on the point of call as you will always get a table. The food is good, typical HH quality. Noisy and you can hardly call the surroundings either inside or outside as pretty. It serves a purpose, we’d been out all day and wanted a sit down meal without takeaway standard and a Hungry Horse fits the bill on price and quality. Although the premises are lacking in quality the staff are very pleasant and helpful.

Good priced drinks, great menu set, lovely staff, loads of places to sit inside, outside, and upstairs. Big screens for sports events, pool room, and place to play darts. What's not to love?! Nachos is flat bread deep fried, which in my opinion is 100x better than the DORITOS crisps most other places serve, claiming as "Nachos". If I wanted doritos and salsa, cheese, and avocado, I could do that at home.

Me and my husband went to dinner today the food was very good as usual as we come at least once a week ..but I would like to say how really lovely your waiter and waitress was as well are pensioners both 79.the young girl bought our drinks over and then ask if she could get our cutlery and sauces..for us and the young lad is so polite thank them both from us both xx

Callum delivered great customer service tonight going out of his way to ensure he thoroughly checked ingredients for me due to my many allergies. He made me feel comfortable to ask him and that this was no problem for him and made my dinner experience enjoyable! Thank you Callum!

Hired a room for a party. Clair and her team (especially Dale) couldn’t have been more helpful. The food was excellent and served with a flourish. The room was comfortable, wi fi for music streaming worked well and the bar tab was well managed and not too frightening. Would definitely book again

Meals are much smaller now and quality gone to pot.

The atmosphere is great! very inviting! the staff are friendly and attentive. I especially loved the selection of beers and the delicious pub grub. Will definitely be back again soon!

We went to the 4 seasons on a bank holiday Monday mid afternoon. It was busyish but they found a table to seat the 10 of us, service was fine and so was the food and drink. Only slight problem was the room we were in would have benefited from better air circulation as it was a bit stuffy, but to be fair the rest of the restaurant was fine. I would be happy to go there again.

Tasty food but the sign outside says generous portions. Our meals were small and we paid an extra £1.50 for the smallest piece of garlic bread I have ever seen.how mean. For meals that come with onion rings that means just two.how mean. Reservation made before hand not honoured.waste of time phoning up. Easy improvements could make this nice place much more satisfying.

Popped in with the family on our travels home, staff were friendly and the place was clean! Not visited before but will definitely be visiting again!

The cleanliness of this pub is what lets it down. EVERYWHERE feels sticky. The tables and chairs weren’t wiped, they had drinks stains and crumbs on them and we moved 3 times and each time was no better. The menus were horrible, dirty, stained and sticky I felt disgusted having to touch them. The cutlery felt sticky like it needed a good wash. I can’t emphasise how horrible and sticky and unclean it felt, considering it was a quiet Tuesday I don’t know why no one felt the need to wipe down any of the tables. The food was dissapointing, our Mac and cheese the pasta was hard, my burger was missing the tomato and cheese and our chips came half cold. The staff were ok, not hugely happy but they were helpful and service was quick which was pleasant. The 2 stars is for how dirty it felt inside.

Despite being a lovely pub, with a huge garden and us being regular customers I can see a decline in many things.. For example the time that you order till you get your food is unacceptable..majority of the food as well was cold...On Sunday we waited for more than one hour for our mains to be served...Also, we had to get the menus as noone was aware of our existence...on the positive side the guys and girls working in service as so nice that you can't hold anything against them...

Food was nice but not as advertised. Was given a small pot of sauce not a jug. Rice was inadequate. Chicken wings not battered as advertised. No jalepenos or seasoning. Chips were the best part. For £13 on my meal alone, returning back for first time for a dinner out together, I’m quite upset. When drinks were brought no straws were offered. There was no welcome or even being told where the toilets were. Meals came. There was no server interaction just quickly told with an aimless arm cutlery was over there. Not even an Enjoy your meal before they quickly fled. Which left my other half aimlessly walking about. I’m confused why there is salt and pepper on tables but no buckets for cutlery like most chains such as spoons or harvester. No napkins either.

We use to come here a lot when there was a areas play area. Not been for a while and came as kids are older now. My son ordered Mac and cheese which came with a salad. The salad had an ear wig walking amongst the leaves. The worst part was the reaction from the staff "so do you want to change it?" Em yes I do. Not even a sorry.

A mid-afternoon Saturday visit, plenty of tables free, helpful staff (we had a lactose intolerant sufferer in our party and they made it easy to choose something safe to eat), fast service and nice portion sizes. The food was lovely and the prices sensible. All in all, a pleasant surprise and a relaxed meal for all.

The smell in there was awful, it smells of raw sewage and the toilets were disgusting. Friendly, helpful bar staff though... What an awful place to work 🙁 P.S may I add that on reading your generic reply to my feedback (see below) I had a look back at other reviews and noticed many complaints about your dirty toilets going back at least a year... Why have you not addressed this?

We went for lunch as we had travelled from Norfolk to meet up with family. I had a Burger which was really tasty. My wife had chicken and she enjoyed it. Considering we had drinks too I was happily surprised at the cost. I would have expected to pay more usually. Service was friendly and efficient. All in all we had a great time and will definitely visit again next time we're in town.

Car park entrance is easy to find sufficient parking, road surface not great but OK Service and food excellent restaurant atmosphere quiet and pleasant, facility for a games room looked excellent. We will be going back

I visited the Hungry Horse at the Four Seasons in Laindon after seeing an offer for two breakfasts from £4.99 (buy one get one free). This particular restaurant doesn’t have a separate breakfast menu and only offers an all day breakfast. There’s no vegetarian or vegan option for breakfast which caused me issues as I’m vegetarian. The staff were lovely and as helpful as they could be considering the lack of alternatives they had to offer.

The toilets are the most disgusting toilets I have ever been in. The smell hits you before you even enter. Worse than festival toilets! My clothes actually stank when i came out. Not sure how they get away with it as was the same last year also. Food awful to but that's expected for a hungry horse .

Food was ok this time. Atmosphere ok but as this is a family restaurant there were children running round. Although this is down to the parents not the venue it's still a little annoying. Service good and staff helpfu

This is a regular haunt for the family. Food is good and portions generous. Ideal for family get togethers and great for younger kids. TVs around the bar are usually on and we watched sunday football last visit. Only downside is ordering at the bar, but not a big issue.

Darts, pool, shuffle board. Reasonably priced drinks. Food hits a bit worse than wetherspoons, but similar vibe. Can't complain based on the price though.

Went for a coffee with friends and was disappointed to see they only do cows milk, I would love to see the place be more vegan and allergy friendly, such as using plant milk

I had the lovely roast beef which was unbelievable, staff had a smile on their faces no matter how busy it was. Drinks are a very fair price too, I would definitely suggest this pub to friends and family, cheap, easy and affordable as well as a great atmosphere!

Great pub n good food. Large beer garden and loads to do inside (darts, Shufl, pool). Great for watching football at too, with their large projector and multiple TVs. Food takes a while to come out when ordering through the app however, but all great besides that!

Very disappointed with the size of the meals.£11.99 for two is attractive but the portions are more or less child sizes.the side order of chips was very mean for the price paid.the cutlery was dirty yet again.prices are rising and portions are becoming smaller.one of our two meals was supplied wrong to order.upon leaving the stench still coming from the toilets (as last visit in dec) of urine and ammonia is enough to make you gag.very unpleasant especially after a meal. This is a shame as this is a nice pub,the food is tasty and the staff are pleasant.food and drink overpriced and the Victorian toilets need attention.

Food was over cooked tasted really plain even kids corn was over cooked to point only half the corn on it it currently stinks like stewers in there atm witch was very unpleasant while eating and was that bad that I walked into the ladies bathroom and wanted to be sick with people covering there face as they was coming in a out hopefully the issue is resolved quickly

The team was so helpful, friendly and the price was so good for what we ordered! The food was tasty and hot! The team accommodated our every need and request. We come here often and are regular customers and we wouldn’t go anywhere else! Highly recommend this business and if you have a family it’s the perfect atmosphere for you!

Great gem of a pub. There is not much in the area in terms of places to go for some grub and a pint. Good food with great portion sizes at a reasonable price. Very kind friendly and in the summer months a great kids area. For those who don't have kids the over 18s section is great for sport, has darts, shuffle board and pool and overall a good adult atmosphere. Good mix of people too.

Not eaten here, but as a pub it's great as they have large tv's showing sport, pool, darts shuffle board, reasonable prices.

1 STAR (2020) Chronically understaffed. Turned up at 2.30pm got a table, only to be told after a long wait at the bar there was an hour wait for food. The place was quite empty! So quite frankly, this place is badly managed. Shame as following the refurbishment I was hoping for better. What’s the point of spending money on a refurbishment if you can’t go in there and eat a meal at a quiet time of day?? Had to take my hungry 2 year old son elsewhere to eat and won’t bother coming back. UPDATE FEB 2024. After a hiatus of 4 years, I took my family back to this place over the weekend to give it another go. Fortunately, this time, despite being busier, the food orders was accepted by staff and a really great, good value meal was delivered to the table after a short wait. Back up to 4 stars.

Very Decent food for price. It seems to have improved in all areas to be fair to it. Would recommend giving it a go and if you haven’t been in a while because of poor experiences, would recommend giving it a chance now

Visited four seasons for my granddaughters birthday on the 30/01/24. We were served by a lovely young lady called lani, great customer service. Also, nothing was a bother to her when we asked for things. Thank you lani.

Went for a family meal for a birthday, staff very friendly and food was great, very lively atmosphere. The assistant manager was extremely helpful with regards to allergies.
