Service wasn’t great, ordered a drink and was made something different. Slow service, those that ordered first got their food an hour after everyone else. Steaks was basically well done not medium like asked for, chewy and undercooked chips. Ordered sizzler steaks and their was nothing sizzling about it

Sorry to say we wasn't happy this time, we normally vist when we come to visit our friends in this area. This time we had the mixed grills, both had cold chips and the chicken wasn't cooked enough. When we ask the staff about the chips they said they would replace them. By the time we finished, we left, on the way out I asked where the chips were and they said sorry we forgot to bring them over, do you want them now? At witch point I said no thank you, we have finished our meals now, and the chicken wasn't hot or cooked enough. I would understand if it was really busy too but it wasn't that busy at this time. We really wasn't happy paying the amount we paid for the cold undercooked food 😒

I visited recently and ordered a jug of mocktail for £5.99. On my first jug, I noticed it had nearly half the jug filled with ice. So when I ordered the second one, I asked for it without ice—but then the jug came noticeably underfilled. When I asked about it, the staff told me it would be less without ice, but I don’t think that’s fair. I only asked for no ice because the first one had so much of it. If I’m paying for a full jug, I expect the full amount of drink, regardless of whether I want ice or not. The mocktail itself tasted good, but the portion and the explanation were disappointing. Hopefully in the future, they serve the proper amount of drink and don’t use ice to make up the volume.

Food was good but the young lady serving at the bar was rude and snappy. It wasn't unduly busy, no-one was waiting but she snapped at me every time I answered her questions. Having worked in hospitality for a few years I know this is not the expected behaviour of staff. Other staff were all fine. Lynne

This place is a disgrace you wait ten minutes for a drink even though it’s empty, when you look up at the atrium it’s has more cobwebs than the munsters home. But the worst are the men’s toilets you can smell urine 20 feet from the door,I told staff there is no soap for washing hands went back next day still no soap you feel dirty when you come out of toilets and you’re there to eat food and to top it all the toilets have a camera inside made me feel uncomfortable, my advice is avoid this place like the plague absolutely disgusting and unnecessary!

We've eaten here a few times over the years and pretty much always been happy with the service, food, and price. We usually buy the 2 meals for a set price. Which is really good value, and you get a good-sized portion. Disappointingly, we used to buy a dessert from the kids' menu . But they seem to have changed and worked out dearer. ice cream now has to be paid for separately, along with the brownie, for example. Whereas in the past, this came as a complete dessert and cost less. I suppose like everything, things go up. The food has always been tasty, though, and more than enough of it. The staff seem friendly and approachable. There is plenty of parking as well and disabled access. We had a super lovely meal there most recently. Just 2 for the price of one ( chicken New Yorker), which was even better than the ones we've had before. Would recommend for families on a budget or anyone looking for an affordable, healthier meal than going to Macdonalds 🙈!

We come here every week for 3 games of pool and drinks and the Mrs kicks my arse every time (because I let her 😬) Always receive great service from a lady called Natasha, Very helpful.

Where do I start with this place? Firstly the main restaurant toilets are always disgusting & In a bad way. They are never maintained or kept smelling nice. A bucket under the mens urinal has been there for a few months without the pipes being fixed or drained. Toilets always being left to fill up & overflow. This happens on a regular basis by what I've seen. Taps are loose on both sinks & there is no soap in the dispensers most of the time for you to wash your hands. Cubicle toilets often found blocked without attention. Toilet check list is supposed to be marked every hour . But that often gets missed & it's not signed certain hours of the day or it's sometimes not signed all day! These toilets are close to eating areas & the smell when your around that area is horrendous & people are trying to eat & drink? They sell flat lager some of the time & we have to ask for another pint which we shouldn't have to do. Food can be very hit & miss. Food still coming out of the kitchen Ice cold or simply luke warm. They have small flies or nats about the place on certain days which gets left unattended. The garden is a shambles & not well kept. For me this place has zero stars for effort or cleanliness . This place used to be good about 10 years ago but it's lost its way & gone right down hill.

We came to the four seasons in Laindon every other week . This restaurant is wheelchair friendly which is very good as one of us is disabled. The food is lovely and always plenty on plates . We come today to find the kitchen was closed so we had to try somewhere else that was not as nice .

Food has gone downhill last few months. They must have a new chef. Waiting staff is ok.

My family and I came here for my sons 3rd birthday on the 8th of March where we live is the same road . We ordered 5 meals in all at the bar. We were waiting at least 20 mins/30 mins and it didn't really seem that busy. 4 of the meals arrived all together. After a  few mins I decided to go to the bar to see what the problem was.....I have been brought up with manners so was waiting my turn which after being constantly ignored and everyone else just pushing in I went to someone who was standing at the till. She was very abrupt and rude and didn't apologise at all for the missing meal or the mess up Apparently it ended up that whoever took the order did not add a full English breakfast. The girl I spoke to about the missing meal was very rude, pointing out that the whole day no one on our table number had ordered a breakfast. We eventually ordered and payed for another breakfast and was told again we would have to wait at least 30-45mins for this meal and there was nothing they could do to speed up the missing food. We asked if we could have fried bread, which we were told by the person on the till "They would have to speak to their chef  to see if they can make fried bread!!!!" She was speaking like she owned the place or was a manager and the "chef" worked for her!!. The food we did get at first was all cold so after the way we were treated over one meal we decided to eat the other meals. When the breakfast did eventually arrive it was very disappointing and nothing like I remember hungry horses breakfast to be here . Mind you if the "chef" can't cook fried bread I wouldn't expect them to be able to make any simple meal!!!! We were Totally disappointed by the whole experience and it was nothing like what I remember this "restaurant" to be the last time I visited. We felt that we would have been better off going to toby or Harvester, especially as the amount we paid we would have at least expected hot food and better service. We should've took food home for the dog. We ended up not far off £70!!!!

We booked a table in advance however when we arrived it was clear that a table had not been set up for us and we were asked to just find a table that would fit us on. We used the app to order which was fine however our starters came out before our drinks did. Our main courses were then brought out before we had finished our starters which meant we had no choice but to leave them half eaten. Most of the food was okay however the cokes we ordered were all flat. Overall we were quite disappointed with this hungry horse.

Ladies toilets out of order Glasses was dirty and you had to get your own cutlery for the table which was also dirty Tables and chairs not clean Staff didn’t look very happy to serve us Roast beef was stringy and steak gristly Service wasn’t up to standards, brought half of our family’s food and left the other half without for 10 minutes Undercooked plain chicken When asked if there was any allergies. A family member said yes but was asked to look at an app to check if they’re able to eat what they ordered. Surely that should be the restaurant’s responsibility Wouldn’t recommend

Not a place I would recommend. Staff are lovely if nothing else. The food was not nice. Was dry. And just not nice. There was 6 of us and wanted Sunday roast.. We were there at 5.30. No roast dinners left at all. They obviously don't count for a lot of people going there. We normally go to the quays, but they were fully booked. They always have a roast there. And don't run out..very disappointed. And the ladies toilets are disgusting. Walked in there, came straight back out. Won't be going again. I've read the other reviews. I must just be very picky. But if I'm spending money I want nice food.,

There is now a huge difference between 4 seasons now and few years back. The food served is much better quality. Always polite staff. Can be a little wait at busy times. I enjoy the atmosphere and always have a meet up with my circle of friends since 2019.

A group of friends booked for Christmas dinner at this restaurant and I’m always sceptical about eating out on Christmas Day as usually it’s overpriced and mass produced and generally not a very nice experience. However, can honestly say the quality and amount of food was amazing throughout the meal and worth every penny. The staff and management were amazing so attentive, wasn’t rushed through the sitting and nothing was too much trouble which made it an incredibly enjoyable experience and because of that won’t hesitate to go back and also to highly recommend it to others. We’ll done team a wonderful day.

Came in for a bite to eat and a drink. The service Connie provided behind the bar was 100x better than I expected. She was very polite and helpful.

I came here not demanding anything overly special. It is a nice white pub, family friendly and has English-accented staff who were able to do their jobs unlike other places I've been to. I was, however, disappointed with the menu. There seems to be a growing demand of chillies and spices on so-called English pub menus! I found something on the special list which costed a tenner and even then I don't think it was worth it. The sea bass was cold, the mash was like smash with a bit of garlic and butter to make it taste adequate enough, yet it wrecked my stomach as I'm not into those horrible cheap processed foods. As for the peas and beans, they were still kind of frozen! My partner ate a battered cod and chips with peas and he wasn't mad about his meal - he paid a lot more than a tenner for his. Don't get me wrong, despite the letdowns, the overall atmosphere and service from staff was brilliant. It was spacious and definitely catered for both adults and children. Finally, my partner who is an Irishman through and through, was further let down due to them not having any Guinness... or so they said! In contrast, he too, hates chillies and spices creeping in on our menus here.

We were there for a family Christmas get together so there were 19 of us in total. We were put in a large room which was ideal as we didn't interrupt anyone else. Everyone ordered their meal and the staff were excellent.

Food was nice (I had a "Full Monty" mixed grill) but I was disappointed that this dish only came with a fairly paltry two onion rings. Also, my wife didn't get the peppercorn sauce she ordered with her mixed grill. Service was pretty abysmal, alas. There was almost nobody here when we arrived but, as it busied up somewhat over time, we didn't see the waitress again after we received our mains. We'd paid for a dessert for our daughter and after maybe twenty minutes of waiting for someone to take our plates once we'd finished and bring the dessert, my wife went and let the waitress know we were ready. The waitress finally arrived maybe another fifteen minutes later with an extra scoop of ice cream on my daughter's dessert "for the wait" (although there was no strawberry sauce in the ice cream as we'd requested). So: A bit stingy on the onion rings; sauces forgotten on my wife's main and my daughter's dessert; and approx. 35 wait time between finishing our mains and receiving our daughter's ice cream (even with us indicating we were ready maybe halfway through that wait time). A shame because the mixed grills were very nice.

We were served by Daniel and he was most helpful and polite and looked after us he couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything we needed and were very happy.

Highly disappointed with our food today! Had roast beef, small portion size, nothing like the picture, also the cauliflower cheese was the worst I've ever tasted, got 2 portions of cauliflower cheese, one full and the other had about 2 pieces, when i questioned about the portion size, I was quite rudely spoke too about it. Wish I never ordered 2 of them. Such a shame as the carvery they had here was fantastic, it's completely empty for a Sunday, it used to be fully booked, it's ruined this place now. So unfortunate. I wish I took photos but forgot too.

Had a decent lunch here and the service was pretty good too. Plenty of spaces in the car park when we visited. It wasn't too loud inside and we got a table without making a reservation. When we first arrived, there isn't a greeting station as such so we wasn't sure if we could just grab a table to eat, or if we had to be seated by a member of staff. It wasn't really clear. We ended up just finding somewhere to sit ourselves. We couldn't see a sign saying please wait to be seated so we just carried on. We chose to order from the app as it's easier with 2 little ones, than going up to the bar. We had no issues with the app and it all worked fine and our order came accurately and promptly. They also have an estimated time for food or drink on the app which is a nice touch. Once our drinks came over, a member of staff made us aware of a feed the family for £15 promotion they had going on currently. This was great to hear, except we had already ordered all of our food and drinks and spent more than double this. She said it was too late to make use of the promotion now and we would have to do it next time we came in. I was quite gutted that we had missed out on this deal but I also didn't recall seeing it anywhere. So I picked the menu up, couldn't see it advertised on the menu. Went onto the app, couldn't see it advertised anywhere on the app. I was then told it's on the hungry horse website, but the app you have to use to order is the Greene King app... So when was I meant to see this deal? Maybe there's a poster up in the pub somewhere showing this deal, but I don't tend to walk around looking out for these types of things. Would have been nice if it was more obvious when we was at the table or it was shown on the Green King app when ordering. Other than that, we had a nice meal in here and even without the £15 deal it was good value for money. Would definitely recommend and we will be coming back again.

Rubbish food compared with others. 4 of us are here today. The guy behind the bar was excellent and the food was out quick but.. Mains served before starters cleared. Garlic bread stale and inedible Korean chicken burger was shocking. Tiny slaw in burger, bun split apart and whilst it was sticky, it was tasteless. Totally different to the Korean burger at the Junction in Upminster which is also GK and is incredible. So disappointed

Me and my friend went for a meal before visiting the cinema, which was pre booked, we both orderd our food at the bar, I asked if we could order seperate as it would be easier for us, it wouldnt of been an issue if they couldnt but they said it was'nt a problem, my friends meal arrived and I was sat there for 15 minutes and mine still hadnt arrived, also on my friends mixed grill his steak was so small it was ridiculous, so I went to the bar to ask where my meal was and was told it would be another 5 minutes, I then mentioned my friends steak and the bar lady went and got the manager, she came out and smugly said this is the size of the steaks they are all pre packaged so I replied ive been in loads of hungry horses and that is not the size and she was just smileing sarcasticly at me saying I asure you it is, so I said ok whatever but my meal shouldnt be 20 minutes apart and she was still grining at me and said its you're fault for putting in seperate orders, what about all the other people with orders! Admitidly I swore at that point, not directly at her but in frustration at the sarcasam and terrible customer service, so got my money for my meal back and waited outside for my friend to finish his meal, the manager should not be working in a customer facing role, I think she thinks because the food is cheap she cant talk to people like dirt

Worst pub I've been in to. Holes in the walls and ceilings (I kid you not) like someone has punched or kicked them. The service was terrible, it took at least 10 mins to get a pint. We tried to play a game of pool, but the cues were warped and the cushions on the tables were dead. £1.50 per game and the tables/ equipment are dreadful. Tried to play darts. Paid £15 for one hour and they couldn't find any darts. We lost 10 mins off our hour while they looked. When I asked why no darts, the bar staff just shrugged her shoulders and said "they're all broken". When we did eventually get to throw a dart, the sensors on the dart board didn't register the darts so it was impossible to play and keep score. When I tried to get a broken dart replaced I was told off for helping myself to the darts behind the bar. When I explained that I helped myself because we'd paid for one hour and it was taking 10 mins for a member of staff to serve us, I was told "I don't like the way you're speaking to me". Five minutes later I was approached by a rather grumpy woman who said "my staff member tells me you were rude to her, so I am going to ask you to finish your drink and leave". Horrible beaten up old pub, rude staff, very expensive and the toilets were disgusting. I REPEAT easily the worst pub I have ever been into!

Been here a few times for lunch,there's cheap and cheerful and there's cheap.ordered a couple of Sunday roasts (after original choices where unavailable).potatoes where cheap frozen brand ,carrots must of just come straight from the garden,uncooked,could of fitted the mash on a teaspoon. Can't get a larger in it's own brand glass,just straight glass.Never again.

We went there yesterday for an evening birthday celebration! The food was hit & miss depending what you ordered. Fries & onion rings were cold some of the party had chicken which looked very anemic & wasn’t nice. Although it’s cheap it shouldn’t have spoiled the quality. Staff must be lazy as there was food on the floor everywhere, tables still had plates etc on them! The whole place needs cleaning & refurbished. I would have preferred to pay more if the food was a lot better!!!

Came here without a booking mid week. Had a choice of tables, no problem. Placed our orders online via the app, recieved our orders, again no problems, no complaints. The kids shared a candy mania, think that was their favourite part. Lol.

Decent all around for a good drink. Can get a bit rowdy and busy during peak times. Offer great deals on certain days.

Popped in for Sunday lunch and a pint. The bar staff were so friendly and helpful, and the place has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food was spot on, best roast beef I’ve had in years, compliments to the chef.

Cheap food but reflected in the quality and service.

Had to change the review as it was written before the food arrived. Not busy at all in the restaurant but somehow the food took nearly an hour to come out to our table. The food wasn't very warm , my burger bun was dry and quite hard and my partners chicken was also really dry. The chips we both had were not that warm either. For what it cost compared to the food quality, I wished I'd gone to McDonald's. I have to say that the bar staff were very friendly.

Food was absolutely awful, would rather go to mc Donald’s! When our side came out as a starter we was shrugged and told to enjoy! And remarks from other customers that my daughter is going to be a stripper (she’s 8) because of the way she went down the fireman’s pole on the playground! Will 100% not be coming back! Worst place I have ever been in my life!

Staff are committed and great value for money. Could do with faster service at the bar but always enjoy myself there.

The staff were friendly and the pub itself was spacious, which was a plus. However, the food wasn't great - mine was lukewarm unfortunately. I also saw some dirty dishes around, and the wait time for food was quite long. Overall, it seems like a better place for drinks and catching up with friends than a proper meal.

A place that is last on the point of call as you will always get a table. The food is good, typical HH quality. Noisy and you can hardly call the surroundings either inside or outside as pretty. It serves a purpose, we’d been out all day and wanted a sit down meal without takeaway standard and a Hungry Horse fits the bill on price and quality. Although the premises are lacking in quality the staff are very pleasant and helpful.

Good priced drinks, great menu set, lovely staff, loads of places to sit inside, outside, and upstairs. Big screens for sports events, pool room, and place to play darts. What's not to love?! Nachos is flat bread deep fried, which in my opinion is 100x better than the DORITOS crisps most other places serve, claiming as "Nachos". If I wanted doritos and salsa, cheese, and avocado, I could do that at home.

Me and my husband went to dinner today the food was very good as usual as we come at least once a week ..but I would like to say how really lovely your waiter and waitress was as well are pensioners both 79.the young girl bought our drinks over and then ask if she could get our cutlery and sauces..for us and the young lad is so polite thank them both from us both xx

Callum delivered great customer service tonight going out of his way to ensure he thoroughly checked ingredients for me due to my many allergies. He made me feel comfortable to ask him and that this was no problem for him and made my dinner experience enjoyable! Thank you Callum!

Such a shame for a comfortable place to eat, although the meals are a reasonably good price the portions are much smaller than they have ever been, we ordered a side order of chips which was £3.49 and when they came out with the dinner we were very disappointed with how little the portion was. Always a terrible smell in the ladies which is very off putting, this needs looking at ASAP

Hired a room for a party. Clair and her team (especially Dale) couldn’t have been more helpful. The food was excellent and served with a flourish. The room was comfortable, wi fi for music streaming worked well and the bar tab was well managed and not too frightening. Would definitely book again

The atmosphere is great! very inviting! the staff are friendly and attentive. I especially loved the selection of beers and the delicious pub grub. Will definitely be back again soon!

We went to the 4 seasons on a bank holiday Monday mid afternoon. It was busyish but they found a table to seat the 10 of us, service was fine and so was the food and drink. Only slight problem was the room we were in would have benefited from better air circulation as it was a bit stuffy, but to be fair the rest of the restaurant was fine. I would be happy to go there again.

Tasty food but the sign outside says generous portions. Our meals were small and we paid an extra £1.50 for the smallest piece of garlic bread I have ever seen.how mean. For meals that come with onion rings that means just two.how mean. Reservation made before hand not honoured.waste of time phoning up. Easy improvements could make this nice place much more satisfying.

Popped in with the family on our travels home, staff were friendly and the place was clean! Not visited before but will definitely be visiting again!
